iHops are mostly very consistent. So one is very much like another. The quality of service is what distinguishes one form another and the attention to detail in the cooking. Our food today was well prepared and done right. Thats all we really wanted and they delivered it. The hash browns were correctly browned and crispy, the pancakes light and tasteful, my omelet was tasty. So just a few items I wish they would work on: Stop using Carey's sugar free syrups. They are terrible, you can do better and there are many brands that are better. With one in five Americans diabetic and many others on diets providing a decent quality set of options for those who walk through your door should be higher on your priorities instead of an afterthought. I have gone multiple times to get inconsistent results when it comes to my very similar order. The service has been questionable majority of the time. This place is always hopping. Food is pretty good. Today I order over easy eggs and received over medium. It did seem to take a little longer to get our order, but it was busy. Staff was professional. I let Melanie know that my eggs were not cooked the way I ordered them; she immediately apologized and offered to have them recooked. I'll start off by saying , usually my fiance and I have a pretty decent time at ihop . Tonight was far from . We walked in and there was a larger party ending their dinner and I'd say they left about 5-10 minutes after we got sat . Working in the food industry myself , I can completely understand how crazy it can get when you're suddenly slammed . But being sat with 2 other two tops , one right before us and one right after us , our server was barely ever seen . There was one more two top that got there before all of us that hadn't gotten drinks yet . Our HOST (shout out to them , I wish I had gotten their name) took all four tables drink orders and brought them out as well . Our server then came over after and took everyone's order by time they came in . The two that had been sitting before the tables that got sat with us came in , got their food first . Which is expected . But it wasn't for another almost 30 minutes that anyone else got their food . The table that was sat right before us got their food after the first table had already finished and left . Then another about 5 minutes passed and the table that came in AFTER us had gotten their food . Mind you , at this point we've been waiting for our food for almost 40 minutes with no table touch , no drink refills , no one came over to any of these tables and said anything . We waited about 5 more minutes before eventually just leaving without our food . Very unprofessional service in my opinion and it could have been handled with more communication and control of the situation . read more

Since the May 22nd tornado they have rearranged, and taken away the smoking section. Which lost some of there customers to Waffle House. I always have trouble deciding between the french toast or pancakes. And if you choose the pancakes then you have dozens of more tough decisions to make. I myself can't even finish a short stack of pancakes. Merely because even though the stack might be short, the cakes are wide enough to fill your plate, with just enough to catch the syrup that trickles off the sides of them. There eggs, bacon, sausage, and other breakfast items are average for the price. Although you can find better at Iron Skillet, or Norma's kitchen. Also, I forgot that IHOP leaves the coffee carafes on the table so you can get your coffee fix! That is a BIG plus not having to flag the waiter/waitress down for a refill!
