I would rate a zero but that's not an option. WORST experience ever. Called in an order to pick up food for my house bound mother. First of all the person on the phone couldn't hear me, ask repeatedly for my info and order. She didn't even know the soup of the day, at 4:39 in the afternoon. I was told 20 min. Ok. Arrived a few min early. No problem. After 40 more min. And several queries my food was ready. All that time, no apology as I waited. Restaurant was 1/3 full. 3 people folding children menus. When asked, was told have a lot of online and door dash orders. SERIOUSLY!? IHOP corporate, before your reputation is completely destroyed, close the Lansing Illinois location. The nicest aspect about this IHop is the facility. The interior is very nice and spacious. The service is ok. They had two minor problems with the accuracy of our order, but corrected them. My sorority sister asked for some whip cream since none came with her pancakes as advertised in the picture and they gave her the smallest most unappealing sample size. Of course, she had to request another. I ordered the split decision breakfast which comes with two pancakes (I ordered blueberry), one piece of French toast, sausage and bacon (I asked for all bacon) and eggs (I ordered mine scrambled with eggs and cheese). As I'm working on losing weight - I only ate the French toast and half of everything else. I asked the waiter for a to-go box and ultimately forgot my box on the table. I had an errand to run and realized about an hour later that I forgotten my to-go. Of course, I IHop is not the cheapest breakfast around, so I wanted to drive back over and pick it up. I call and the first time I was disconnected. Second time I ended up speaking to Lucy, the manager, who indicated that the best she could do is give me a couple of free pancakes next time I was there because anything left on the table was discarded. What kind of rule is that?? When the staff at most restaurants see that someone has left a to-go, they just put it in the kitchen on the side. Leave it for a few hours if no one comes, then discard it. Nope. Lucy was adamant that this is not the way that it works and basically the couple of free pancakes next time I come is all she could do. Totally disappointing. Not that I leave things frequently, but other restaurants that I've left things at, they actually had my entire to-go or they just replaced it. Hello, This is a review that does not deserve even 1 Star. I was told not to come to this location, but I thought that I would give it a try. This was a decision I fully regret. It was a horrible experience for my family and I. Our order was delivered inconsistently and many items where forgotten. The presentation and the taste of the food was extremely lacking as well. I had the strawberries and cream pancakes and they were delicious. I also ordered a side of hash browns with cheese that broke my heart. They were soooooooooo dry I couldn't believe it. The server know I didn't like them and she kept on checking on my team to see were things fine. But the worse thing was my bill came to 39.84 with tax included. I get yo to the register to pay and now it's 41.95. I asked for my old receipt and the manager didn't want to give it to me because she couldn't find it. How did you lost it that fast??? I've been coming to this ihop for years and have always loved it but today the servings really really small and didn't taste the same. Actually quite nasty, my boyfriend didn't like his food either. I got chicken and waffles and he got pancakes. It was 11pm, and my parents and I were completely ticked off at the Chicago traffic. It wouldn't have been so torturous had we known ahead of time that all of the major highways leading back to Ohio had been blocked at certain points. The GPS was absolutely worthless, as it kept telling us to go back to the same roads that had been closed off. That said, a good 5 hours was stuck sitting in traffic and/or dodging trucks -- the entertaining component of all of this. Gone was my dad's habit of driving 10 mph BELOW the speed limit (Oh Asian parents!) Instead, it was replaced by some mad driving skills I never knew he possessed. Digression aside, IHOP was the only place that was open this late, so we decided to grab some food before finally hitting the (right) road home -- all thanks to the directions provided by a kind-hearted highway patrol officer. Staying an additional night in Chi-town was, sadly, not an option due to prior engagements the next morning. So what sets this IHOP apart from the hundreds found across the country? The ridiculously slow service. Considering there were only two other tables, the 45-minute wait for food was just absurd. The redeeming factor was the Nutella crepes, which I graciously inhaled -- highly, highly recommend! My dad's tilapia and my mom's chicken fingers were definitely not worth the wait, however. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! We went in late at night, but it was not busy at all. We were sat down with in a couple minutes and given our soft drinks very quickly by who seemed like a manager. We sat there for about 15 minutes after that and decided once it turned into 20 minutes without any service we were going to leave. I glanced over to my left to notice that a cook from the kitchen, no hair net or anything, walked out of the kitchen to look around for a second while BRUSHING HIS HAIR. That is when we decided to finally leave, I waited at the front to speak to the man who originally seated us (which I believe was the manager) and tell him about our terrible experience. I have received bad service at this Ihop before but decided to give them another opportunity per my husbands request only. I received the WORST service here ever. I had to ask for a bigger glass instead of a child glass. When they bought the food to the table, it was stacked on top of each other. The waitress attitude sucked. I asked the waitress for extra napkins, she brung me exactly two napkins for four people. Her name started with a Y.. The manager named "star" bought me a different omelet and it was all WRONG. Visited IHOP on Saturday 10/19/19 worst service I have ever experienced. I am not a complainer but this had to be pretty bad for me to write this review. I arrived with my 82 year old mother and her 84 year old sister for breakfast. We ordered our food, when our food arrived there was visible hair in my eggs, my order was missing my hash browns, it took about 15 minutes before a waiter come. I told her it was hair in my eggs and I was missing my hash browns. She asked me if I wanted to keep the rest of my food and she will bring me more eggs and hash browns. I told her no my food was already cold having to wait 15 minutes for a waitress to come back. When my food arrived a second time I ask the waitress for flatware that took another 10 minutes Iasked another waitress for a manager about 10 More minutes the 1st waitress came back claiming to be the manager asking what was wrong, she knew what was going on I told her I was not pleased with my with the service or my food. She took my order off and billed me for my mom and aunts meal. She did no even ring up my order she took the money and made change to give me back from her tip wallet. It's some kind of funny stuff going on and I never got to see a real manager. I will not recommend this IHOP to no one. Very poor service. read more

After being seated today my son and I waited about 20 minutes for a server to come over, but before that a young lady came over with a broom and swept under the table while we were sitting down and swept my foot REALLY!!!! Nevertheless 20 minutes later a young man came over took out order and showed up another 20 minutes with water and orange juice. After almost an hour, we still were not served. Needless to say we left! You all need to get your act together. Everything was going fine until my friend did not like the cheese in his omelet. OK well I just want to give my review of the IHOP where I just left out in Lansing the service was absolutely horrible first of all even from the management team we got there there was no one there to see it as we stood there for like at least five minutes waiting for someone to come to seat us when they finally did come see this they took our order and they brought us back so we would order hot chocolate and all at stuff they bought us make a half a cup of hot chocolate so we sent it back and then they filled it up with water so the hot chocolate was water down so we had to send that back then we ordered our evening meal which was an old chicken and waffles really wanted that excited about coming into the facility to get it well it's like 45 minutes to get it we ask a couple of times. Very poor service at this location in Lansing,IL I Didn't get the Managers name but I plan on going back on tomorrow. Speaking with another Manager and writing a letter to the corporate office. My daughter and I went to IHOP for breakfast last year and swore we were not going back. The service was horrible and slow. We walked in at 10am and our food still did not come out when we decided to leave at 11:30am. When I asked to speak to the manager, the manager dismissed my claims and stated she won't charge me for my cup of coffee. Welp, I decided to try to go again this year and nothing has changed. This place is horrible. The last time I was here, I was told there wasn't any steak, so I left. This time around, found steak, so yay me. When I got it though, I asked for it medium well, and it looked like sushi. It was raw on the opposing side. The eggs were OK, I was not asked if I wanted hash browns or pancakes, I was just given pancakes. The manager did fix the steak though, but for the inconvenience, they should have made sure the rest of my meal was correct as well. When I checked out, (I was polite the entire duration of my visit BTW) I was asked how my food was, and I told her filling, but not delicious. She then proceeded to take the original receipt with the survey away, and replace it so that I could not share my experience with corporate. After she gave me the fake receipt, I had to ask for the original, which she hesitantly gave back. (What was she going to do, say no? It was my receipt!) So, the staff knew they were up to no good, and didn't care. I've certainly been in better I hops, (Arizona for instance) and I'm sure I won't be disappointed in the future. The sushi steak could have been prevented with a thicker steak which would have retained flavor better than the cardboard they served me, maybe IHOP corporate can look into flavor issues with their product or just stick to fluffy desserts for breakfast. read more

Waited 1 hour for table on this past Sunday. It would have went a lot quicker if they actually stuck to the "list" definitely not worth an hour wait for the food it was okay not great...can't really mess up breakfast. Was just annoyed that one of the five hostesses originally said 30mins or less for a table...maybe if they weren't in Halloween costumes still?
