Today I ate at this restaurant. The server was very professional but the food was sub standard. I ordered the tbone steak meal to be cooked medium rare and received a very well done and tough steak. My waitress was attentive for a table of 8 people and other people in my party had to return their food for reasons. Let's get right to it. The service here is consistently goodish, but I think that's because my parents are regulars and all the waiters pretty much know what they're going to order already. It's one of those places that's kinda old, so you don't look around too much. The food, service and price are almost always ok. I wouldn't venture into the bathroom here. That's just a personal thing. A dirty public bathroom is my kryptonite so I won't chance that and have never been. It's probably ok though. The location is right off of the highway (I-20), and by a gas station. Convenient for travelers. I can only comment on the two things that I've ordered: either the strawberry-banana french toast with a side of turkey bacon OR the simple and fit breakfast. My only complaints would be that the fruit always comes with an overabundance of never ripe-tasting honeydew melon, the turkey bacon is never crispy and the smallest bowl (fruit, grits or butter) comes on the main platter, touching my other food and I always pray that it's clean on the bottom. We went in and sat for about 10 minutes maybe 15 and they said another customer and we did not get waited on so we got up and we left. There was a gentleman who used to work there and we never had a problem getting waited on. He was a black man and very friendly and very efficient and I've been wondering what happened to him but I definitely miss him every time I go especially today I always have lunch IHOP but today you really hurt my feelings course. My elderly parents didn't want fancy meal-actually the reason we all ended up at IHOP for Thanksgiving dinner is waaaay more complicated than that, go figure. "Whah-ha-happened" was ..... family drama occured, ppl were hungry and IHOP was the only restaurant open. :-/ We were SHOCKED at the customer service how good it was, our server was sweet. The couple in front of us waiting left because nobody had greeted them also because there was about 13 plates of food sitting on the kitchen shelf the entire time we waiting and nobody served it the entire time we were waiting. We were required to mask up for ten feet to reach our table and then we could remove it once sat at the table. How stupid can a manager be. After finally going and getting a waitress ourselves we placed our order and I waited 20 minutes for coffee. Had to get up and find the waitress for the coffee and still no food.
