We've gone here quite a few times this past year and up until beginning of summer we always would get the same waitress during 10 to 11 am , she was great , a bit overwhelmed but did her best and we always tip 20 to 30% , but the last couple times have not been too good , today a couple with a small child we're already waiting for a table and then we were also waiting for a table , then a young man wanted to pay, and an elderly couple wanted to pay. They got the people taken care of with the money ( of course) but never sent anyone to seat us , so first the couple with the small child left and overheard they had waited 10 minutes, then we left and honestly I don't think anyone even noticed or cared. Have a work lunch tomorrow and called to reserve a table for 12 people. I was told they don't take reservations. So I let them know we'd take our business elsewhere. Their response "Ok." If I could leave a review for zero stars, I would. There are plenty of places who do accept reservations in McMinnville. It's sad that a new restaurant is already off to such a bad start based on the reviews. We will enjoy our lunch at 1882 Grille, where they happily accepted our reservation!!! My wife and I were looking for late night food and couldn't find much open. We were tiered and hungry and we found "ihop". Wasn't very busy at about 10:30pm. We ordered and waited...and waited...and waited. Finally the waitress came out and said they only had one cook and things were taking longer. When we paid I asked if there would be a discount for waiting so long. The reply was no, I'm not a manager. Badly managed. When your having that kind of situation just come out and tell the customer before they wait so long. You can't fault the waitress for a kitchen staff issue. Also, get the manager out to do something but I guess they could care less about repeat business. We will steer clear of this place, always go somewhere else, and pass this on to others. Last night a group of 6 of us decided to go to Ihop for our weekly "family" dinner. A while back we tried to go only to find out that this particular Ihop is not 24 hours and actually closes at 10 pm so we were not able to go. However last night we were and I think we all regarded it. First thing I will say is that when you have a group of 6 a booth is a weird choice to seat them in I think. We had to split up couples and overall it was sort of a odd choice when you had a empty restaurant. The hostess seated us and go us drinks and then our waitress came over like 5 minutes later asking if we were ready to order. I will say we were chatting so NONE of us were ready to order. We asked for a little more time but we learned later we probably should have decided on the fly. There were 2 other tables filled while we were there and for some reason it took like 10-15 minutes to come back to us to get our order. We had decided with in about 5 minutes of her leaving. It was a little annoying to have to wait that long but we were enjoy our time together so not much was said. When the waitress came back to take our orders my wife's drink was empty as were a few of the others. During the ordering process the waitress keep having to repeat things to us which is a little odd as she was writing it down but it was like she was not processing it. After order we did not see our waitress until the food arrive. At this point there was only one other table then us and she just wasn't around. No one got drink refills at all. Our food took about 20-30 minutes to come out or maybe longer I am not really sure. We do know a lot of it sat because over half of our meals were cold. Two sets of hash browns were burnt and two sets of pancakes were burnt. We actually made a joke that they serve you all you can eat pancakes but they keep you from eating more because they are burnt... At this point our waitress got refills for those that were out but she also brought myself and my friend additional coffee cups...We had coffee in our cups and she never took the old ones she just added more dishware to the table by bring us second cups... we all though this was odd. After that I think she realized that she had basically for got about us because she checked on us twice after our food. We paid our bills and left.. no one got pancake refills and no one eat all there food. Overall we decided we will not be returning. It was just not worth it to drive from Newberg to Mac when we could go to J's or Sherri's. read more

I went out with 8 of my friends but if my friend would have eaten that raw chicken that they gave her, we would have only left the restaurant with 7 friends. Thankfully she didn't eat the raw chicken and she didn't die of Salmonella and we all left the restaurant alive but still very hungry, we all kind of lost our appetite after seeing the very undercooked chicken! Outstanding service for my growing family! This morning was the best breakfast out we'd had in a while! Maegan, our server was polite and attentive, and had almost a cognitive timing as she was by our side as soon as something came up! Nick, who wasn't even our server, loved our one year old and made friends with us fairly quickly! We stopped by last night for dinner. We got there at 9:15pm and they closed at 10:00 pm. Service was ok but food was not good. I order coffee and it was cold very cold. I ask the server for new coffee and I was told that the coffee maker was off because it was almost time to close. First time we went to this new IHOP was a couple weeks ago. Place looked clean, we were seated quickly, had a bit of trouble getting them to understand what I was ordering (we ate in and also had a to-go order) but finally got that figured out. I thought the fried eggs, over medium, were fine, but the hash browns were too dry and on the cusp of being burned if they'd left them a moment longer. Had the pumpkin pancakes, and the flavor was great, but the pancakes themselves were too soft and turned to mush when syrup was applied. A big sticking point in our family is bacon MUST be CRUNCHY, as in to-hell-and-back-burn-it-til-it-stands-to-attention crunchy. The bacon was greasy, cold and limp. Visit 2: The taste of the pumpkin pancakes brought us back for another to-go order last week. They weren't real busy so I was surprised how long it took them to get the order out (again there had been a bit of confusion when ordering, don't know why). Got home and found two containers of strange white liquid in with the pumpkin pancakes... eventually figured out it was whipped cream; WAS being the operative term. O-kaaaay. The fried eggs were verging on over hard vs. over medium. The bacon, which remember is to be CRUNCHY, could have used a good dose of Viagra and a space heater, and the pancakes, while having good flavor, still disintegrated when we tried to eat them. The hash browns, which we asked to not be cooked as much, were ok but still verging on too done. Visit 3: Went back for another to-go tonight and it will be our last! I came in and explained exactly what was wanted: TWO build your own breakfasts, consisting of buttermilk pancakes, CRUNCHY bacon, eggs fried over medium, and hash browns cooked less than usual so not to be overdone. I also ordered a four stack of pumpkin pancakes. Well I hadn't waited too long, but when the order came out it consisted of the 4 pumpkin pancakes and only ONE of the build your own breakfasts. The girl was nice (the servers have always been nice) and apologetic and went back to put in another order, but I wish she'd taken the rest of the food and put it under a warmer, because it was stone cold by the time I got the food home-- not only that but I was tired and didn't look at my receipt, except for the price, and when I looked in the bag I saw pancakes on top, so ASSUMED that what she just brought me was the second build your own breakfast as requested (never EVER fail to check any to-go order before you leave, a lesson I should have learned by now) However when I get home what do I find? Not a 2nd full breakfast order but a freakin' four stack of buttermilk pancakes! No bacon, eggs, or hash browns to be seen. So one of us got their full breakfast (with the same-old-same-old flaccid, limp, sad bacon I might add) and the other was stuck with nothing more than a huge stack of mushy pancakes for dinner. 3rd strike and they are OUT! I'd had high hopes IHOP would give Shari's some competition, but those hopes apparently were sadly misplaced. Shari's has it's.... quirks, but after 40-some-odd years we've come to be used to those, and on a good day they at least know how to make nice stiff bacon that will stand at attention and salute as you eat it! read more

Was able to finally get the chance to go today. Honestly not impressed at all. I personally ordered the eggs Benedict and had to send it back. On top of the English muffin and ham was a solid hard boiled egg. Also you can tell that their sauce wasn't made fresh. Everyone else that joined me this morning to eat there, their food came to us cold or Luke warm. Granted I understand they just opened up and there will always be kinks that will be needed to be fixed. But this was bad. Hope it gets better for the people are willing to eat there. read more

Oh geez. Where to start. The remodel of the last restaurant that was in the space is an epic fail. They could not possibly have done less. Beige and blonde, literally no design or decor. It's cold and cheap looking and the most uncomfortable booth seating I have ever encountered. The menu is uninspiring, absolutely nothing interesting on the menu. We both ordered a 2 x 2 x 2 breakfast. The wait was a little too long and our food was stone cold not even on a warm plate. No salt or pepper on the cold stiff eggs, butter would not melt even between the pancakes. The bright spot was good hot coffee, but that's not enough to save bad food that is cold and the lackluster atmosphere. No, you don't need to try it. IHOP is known for breakfast and it was an epic fail. McDonalds is s superior alternative. read more

When tables that came after us started being served ahead of us we asked about our order....and got ATTITUDE. Negative attitude. Went in today for lunch. Waited 15 minutes for our server to acknowledge us. Additional 10 minutes went by and we had not even been given water. We left after 25 minutes of sitting there with no water or anything. I should add, they were not busy, had a TON of staff wandering around, filling up syrup jars and bussing tables instantly once people left, but I noticed an additional 2 tables who got the same non-service as us. If you love a good breakfast any time of the day or night, I recommend that you avoid this place and try anywhere else. The recent remodel leaves a cold atmosphere. Ironically that matches the temperature of the food. Servings are small and cold but served on a hot plate. I ate the cold eggs and a bite of cold sausage link, but left the small stack of silver dollar sized pancakes uneaten except for a small bite. The only positive part of the meal was ice water and the cup of coffee. When the waitress asked us how the meal was, this was the first time in my life that I was brutally honest about the horrible cold meal and suggested that the cooking staff should all be fired for serving food prepared that morning to evening guests. read more

Service was professional, very friendly and attentive. Food was delivered quickly and hot. I'm happy to see this bc we are happy to have an IHOP nearby and just wished this one was better managed. Third time, a lot depends on the day of the week and the time. We had to ask a manager the status of our order, and all of a sudden it arrived. It was a total of 32 minutes from walking in, until food arrived. Other tables less than 10 minutes. Food was warm, not really hot. Plates were warm due to being under heat lamp. I see from some reviews there are some very picky unhappy people who will complain about anything at all. People need to get over themselves. It is a restaurant that caters to a lot of people. There is no way they can make everyone happy. If you want your food a special way with special mixes...hire your own chef or make it at home. read more

the worst ihop i've ever been to. the service was absolutely terrible. we were not checked on once during the meal and had to continually wave down employees. there's no explainable reason for this either because there was only 3 tables and 5 servers on shift. our drinks were slammed down on the table and our 2 servers were so rude. ordered the endless coffee pot and not once did it get refilled. looks like i'll be sticking to denny's from now on read more
