Come here and expect terrible service. The person seating us was very nice but once we sat down our waiter looked rushed, did not make eye contact, took our order, and 30 minutes later after I asked where our food was came back and served our meals. He did not apologize for the food being late and to add insult to injury he brought us RAW BACON. What made him think this was okay? Does he think anyone in their right mind is ok eating raw bacon? After 3 requests to remake the bacon (each time the bacon came back a little less raw but STILL RAW) my husband was finally able to enjoy his meal. I also asked for lemon water, he came back with one lemon wedge and no extra hot water. The service we received was overall bad. Quality of service is terrible. The majority of our food was fine and edible but we should not have to waste our time for this level of service. Not visiting this location again. Never once did the waiter ask if food was ok or apologized. Ridiculous. read more

If there is an option for a 10 star I will not hesitate to give that rating to this branch. My kids and I were starving after a long drive and since it is getting late none would deliver food to the hotel where we are staying so we decided to drive around and saw IHOP. We are suppose to take our order out but asked one of the crews if they have a separate table away from the busy area of the restaurant as one of my kids has ASD who makes a lot of noise that may distract other patrons or even make them stare. Without hesitation we were escorted to the empty side of the restaurant. It has been awhile since we last ate out with my Autistic son and as a parent it is just heart warning to be given that opportunity again to enjoy a meal with my boys without the fear of other people staring at us (probably because of the loud noises my son makes). Not the absolute greatest but not terrible, its IHOP. **was not busy at this time. maybe 5 small groups besides us.** The service is really why I'm leaving a review. My waitress was a very sweet older woman, but the wait was painfully slow. My brother and I sat down and waited at least 30 mins for anybody to come to our table to even ask us what we wanted for drinks. We ordered our drinks at the same time as our meal which worked out fine, I didn't mind that too much. We never got our food or drinks for another 30 mins, and they messed up my order. After letting my waitress know, I never got my correct sides until we both had finished our food and were ready for the check, so another roughly 15-20 mins. When they had brought out my correct side, I asked for a box and the check. I was never brought the check until I started walking up to the front after waiting another 20 mins. Nobody came to refill our drinks, nobody came to check on our food. NOTHING. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars was because my waitress was very sweet, and the food was decent. Even though I try to go to different breakfast/brunch places every weekend, we always wind back here close to once a month. The wait on the weekend varies, but it's usually 30-40 minute wait to get seated. Once you're seated, service is pretty quick and the quality of food is always consistent. Sure I'll review IHOP. They actually have some good breakfast items here. I often veer for the more "healthier" options and had their Simple and Fit Spinach, Mushroom and Tomato omelette but of course sub'd the fresh fruit for some extra-crispy cooked Hash Browns - my weakness. Worth it too, I tell ya. I like how they have different flavored syrups at your table in the event that you are feeling adventurous with your breakfast. Service was amicable. Our server was on top of things especially with leaving the coffee carafe on our table consistently filled with piping hot coffee. She must have seen the "Coffee Addict" stamped on my forehead. As this IHOP is located right on the corner of a busy intersection, the amount of traffic coming in this way isn't surprising. So be ready to wait a while - they don't take reservations. read more

My son his mother and I came here for dinner earlier. Right when we got there, there was only one parking left so that was good. When we went inside he were greeted and seated right away. For a place with only one park spot left, it wasn't that packed so that was good too. My sons mother and I ordered 1 sirloin t steak with hashbrowns, 1 chicken cordon bleu , and 1 five star pancake for my son. The food came out within 15 mins. The food was good, but I wished the portion was a little bit more. Overall, the parking is iffy, the service was good, there's seating , food was great, but the portion should be a little more. IT IS WHAT IT IS. Good service with your standard IHOP menu. I noticed a few new additions like the Strawberry NY Cheesecake Pancakes that I HAD to try! Not toooo shabby. It was like eating breakfast and dessert all in one! Ask for warm strawberry syrup for that extra touch of wow! It's always nice to have places that are open late available for those late night munchies or hunger strikes. Only negative thing was that since they just opened recently, their light bulbs are SUPER BRIGHT. When you sit at a booth, the low-hanging lamps are right in your face. Not very pleasant. read more

Ihop is a cheap place to get your breakfast fix, a much greater alternative to Dennys, especially in Milpitas. And yes I barely found out that Ihop was short for international house of pancakes. Pros: Food: Ihop does have a pretty good selection of breakfast items from waffles, pancakes, and omelet's. Note: if you do add fruit to your pancakes, crepes, or waffles; it will be sugary sweet. And there is also lunch and dinner entrees, but I do recommend getting breakfast if you are going to Ihop. Service: Staff always seems to be helpful and friendly whether it's crowded or not. Cons: Parking: Ihop does have a small parking lot, so if you do go during rush hours, you might have to drive around a bit to find parking. Crowd: There is definitely a wait if you go during the morning or early afternoon, especially on the weekends. Late nights can also get crowed, especially when its prom night. Overall, if you are in the mood for cheap breakfast, Ihop is a pretty good place. read more

Oh now you know Milpitas is an up and coming place when IHOP makes an appearance...(I was being sarcastic, btw) It's IHOP - chain food, chain pancakes, chain portions of hash browns that make you want to cry...in a bad way. :( Good news? It's nice and shiny and closes at 11pm Monday - Thursday, but is open 24 hours on Friday and Saturday -- WOO HOO! Closing at 11pm is a good thing for hubby who works in Redwood City. We wanted a restaurant that wasn't fast food, but was sit down and somewhere where we could feel reasonably comfortable...although this isn't the best, it certainly helped to make a crappy day less crappy for him. So...yay! Sidenote: This IHOP does NOT have wifi like the IHOPs we went to when we hit L.A. -- boo! We dropped $25 there for a breakfast omelet and their special of the day. I was a bit disappointed with the amount of hash browns I received. I'm so used to going to places that give me so much hash browns I actually can't finish it and this place left me wanting more. I went in there hungry and left less hungry. :( Upside? it's nice and brand spankin' new. It must have opened either this week or sometime last week because the parking lot always seems busy. I-Hop in Milpitas California has average food but they don't treat their employees very well. The restaurant uses the anonymous surveys where customers rate the employees to suspend and fire the servers. I was eating there four time a week and found the best servers that I knew for over a year were suspended for one week. This is not the American way to discipline employees using an anonymous survey which allows bigots to make unsubstantial charges. I will never eat there again. Frank M. read more

I should have written this sooner, but I don't like to do a not so good review. When this location first opened I was psyched! What's better than having breakfast for dinner? The first time there I had excellent service. After that, it was down hill. Nothing frustrates me more than to have to ask for something more than once, especially if I'm waiting for it so I can eat my food. It's happened here more than once. Okay, everyone can have an off day, so I went back a few more times. Pet peeve #2 - if I've ordered to go after I finished my meal, please do me the courtesy of getting me my check so I can get out of there with my to go order and get it home to feed hubby while it's relatively warm. Nope, didn't happen. I'm at the register trying to get a check with my food in a bag ready to go, but my server isn't around, so I wait, and wait. Okay, maybe she forgot before she went on break. I'll give it another try. I sent a message about my problems and a manager did call and apologize and I was told to come in and there would be something for me so I can have a free meal. Went in another time, had my dinner, and lo and behold - no free meal voucher as promised. Next and last trip - my server (who is the one that didn't get me my bill while I waited for hubby's to go order), well she goofed and gave my check (lesser of course) to the table next to me. And you better believe that guy paid my check and hightailed it out of there. I didn't pay attention until after my credit card was run and then caught it. Big headache and my to go order was getting cold yet again. I'm done with this IHOP. It's a shame but just not worth the frustration. read more

Updating: After the horrible service the first time I went here, I decided to try this location again only out of convenience for my friends. BIG mistake. The wait was long, server got my friend's food wrong, looked tired and groggy, and on top of that expressed her grogginess towards our table of 4. We all wanted individual checks and she asked my friend what he had ordered. We didnt know the exact name so we described it and she flat out said, "Uh, that doesn't tell me anything..WHAT is the name?" ....UM HELLO?! ...YOU WORK HERE?! NOT US! and on top of that, she totally stared down at us while we were paying and signing our checks which totally made it awkward because WE DIDN'T WANT TO TIP YOUR GROGGY ASS. My family really enjoys eating at IHOP. Generally speaking, the service can vary quite a bit from one location to another, but we've had consistently good experiences at this location over the past 4 years coming here, so It thought it was finally time to post a review. Do keep in mind that this location can get very busy during prime times (especially on holiday/weekend mornings), so plan accordingly. We call to order take-out during those busy times, and it's great. The staff at front always double-checks our orders in front of us when we come pick up to make sure that our order is correct. I've had a dinner plate before and it wasn't too great. But I am giving IHOP 4 stars because I've always liked their breakfast plates and the grilled cheese sandwich on the kids menu. MmMM... how can you say no to unlimited pancakes?! I've had the spinach and mushroom omlette and it is the best! I also got the grilled cheese sandwich. I love grilled cheese sandwiches so thats always a palette pleaser to me. For the dinner plate, i got the steak tri tip something... it came with mashed potatoes, corn, and garlic bread. Taste wise, it's okay. The steak pieces were tasty but cooked a little too well for my taste. (They didn't have a preference of how you wanted it to be cook with the tri tip pieces.) I came here on a Wednesday afternoon around 3pm. Doris our server was really energetic and very attentive to our needs. She made sure we were all set with our order and also made us aware of our options when it came to substitutions or how we wanted things cooked. Doris checked on us about every 7 minutes which is more frequent than the other times I have come here. Overall Doris had a cheerful and positive attitude which made my dining experience even better. Hope she keeps us the great work! Also the food came out really fast, there was virtually no waiting time at all. That is why I love this location. Overall, I think I spent about 30 minutes getting seated, receiving my meal, and eating my meal. Overall a really efficient and speedy location. P.S. if you order the breakfast Nachos, ask for them to go light on the jalapenos. I ordered mine without knowing so much tiny chopped jalapenos were in the dish. We went downtown SJ clubbing, drove home and then decided we were hungry-IHOP it is. How many? Party of 12... oh wait its 13 5-6 minute wait "Your table is ready!" Walked us to our table at the end of the restaurant in the corner. Impressive we had a booth that fits 6 and additional tables attached to extend it out to fit 13. Only problem is me. It wasn't 13 it was 16-17 people. Good thing there was an empty booth next to us to fit 4-6. Server didn't seem to mind. He took our drink orders first, then our stranders came in afterwards. He came back again to get their order as well. Service: our waiter was excellent! Not only did he get our orders right he was very diligent and cool. Why? I asked him to leave the whole pitcher of water and he did without hesitation. Since I didn't want to wave him down to refill it every few minutes. I was kind of glad that he was our server-I noticed another LOUD, and PERKY server on the other end of the room talking to his customer (I would've been annoyed because it was so early in the morning... I'm talking about around 2 am-ish) . I wished I wore my glasses - my bat eyes couldn't read our server's name tag. Its the slender, tanned skin asian guy with glasses... thanks again for a wonderful service! Food: I'm not sure about everyone else but my order was delicious! I ordered the Sirloin Steak Tip Dinner-grilled tender sweet USDA select sirloin tips grilled with onions and mushrooms. Served with mash potatoes, buttered corn, garlic bread and a choice of soup/salad. Soup of the night was clam chowder. I cleaned the whole plate and pass the chowder to a friend. Decaf coffee and an order of watermelon lemonade. Yeah I was pretty hungry to begin with. Bill came out to be $121 and some change. We tipped him $21 for such an awesome service. read more

I've always liked the food at ihop. The smell of pancakes and coffee brings back those warm and fuzzy feelings of home on a Saturday morning for me. Unfortunately though, this particular ihop let me down. My family and I came here on a Tuesday night for dinner. The hostess asked us if we wanted a booth or table...we said booth. None of the booths were cleaned out (about ten of them) and the hostess gave us this look as if we were asking too much. =/ Hey, you gave us an option. After waiting for a table to be cleaned up, we ordered our food...which took forever to cook for some reason. My mom, who was a first timer at this ihop, was literally telling us to walk out when the food finally came in. Where else can you go for a big breakfast for dinner? Well, maybe Denny's, but IHOP is way less greasy and tends to not be as dirty and as dingy as most Dennys. This IHOP is brand spanking new. I came here last night with some friends for a late dinner and enjoyed the simplicity. We had an awesome server, super sweet, attentive, friendly and funny. Our order came very fast and all of us were very satisfied and stuffed after our meals. I ordered the stuffed french toast combo, a huge meal of eggs, hash browns, sausage (or bacon) and a huge piece of custard-filled french toast with fruit compote on top. Healthy? Ha, hell now. Good? Hell yes. And neither the eggs, sausage or hash browns were greasy, thank god.
