I've ordered take-out and eaten at the restaurant a few times now, and every time, the food is delicious and the customer service is top-notch. I ordered take-out today for Mother's Day as a treat for myself and decided to try their beinegts. Unfortunately, they ran out, but I was delighted to find that they gave me a large piece of brownie and ice cream to go with it instead. They even threw in a gift card which they didn't need to do. Great quality patties; fresh flavor and good blend! The pineapple and pulled pork on the sweet and swine was absolutely magical. But the El Diablo burger takes #1 with a great tasting tomatillo salsa, fresh guacamole and bacon. All great food, and great vibes with families of all numbers. read more

The more you come here the more you like the place. Why do I say that? One word; consistency. You come in friendly greeting will take you order. Answer questions make modifications if needed. Great menu of burgers and some chicken sandwiches. You pay for it at the counter and they deliver it to you very quickly. Staff checks on you while you're eating and picks up your empty plates etc as you're done. The burgers are big so come with an appetite. Love the onion rings and a sweet potato fries. We checked out Billy Roy's Burgers in Fremont this week and came away pretty happy with it overall. The burger had a solid, old-school charbroiled flavor that really came through on a substantial, satisfying patty. It's the kind of burger that actually tastes like it hit a grill, not just a flat top, and it held up well from first bite to last. My wife had the chicken sandwich, which was also good--well cooked and tasty--but the use of iceberg lettuce felt like a bit of a downgrade compared to mixed greens or something a little more interesting. The southwest salad which I've had previously is better than the Backwoods Cobb salad I had today. Also, today I had the Butcher's Cut Ribeye burger. The burger was tasty except about 1/3-1/2 of the ribeye was gristle. Why wouldn't the cook cut that off before grilling? I do not recommend this burger. Service was good except one friend had to wait a bit longer for her "on special" wrap which she said she would never get again. They did apologize for the wait. read more

First time at Billy Roy's burgers tonight. Order at the counter and they'll bring your order to your table. After a long 18 mile hike in Sunol. I got haystack burger lettuce wrapped. I appreciate the lettuce wrap but they triple wrapped it in lettuce. The burger patty itself was on the dry side. Also, got the cali chicken burger which was a ground chicken patty again dry patty. My full order of fries were on the not as crispy side. My friend's half order fries were crispy. A little inconsistent there. The service by the older lady at the counter could've been friendlier but it was 8 pm on a Saturday and I'm sure she just wanted to go home but still. The service from the kids was a lot better. I have passed by this place numerous times and I was curious. It pleasantly surprised me! We went on a Saturday night, it's huge so there's no worrying about parking or seating! Loved how many options they have for food and drinks and they have an ice cream section! Service was fantastic, food came quick, they were very attentive and kind. Food was delicious! We got the Grilled Hawaiian and the Sliders and the Wedge Salad. And the Strawberry shake. The only tiny reason it's not 5 stars is the ambiance. Finally got around to trying this spot and overall had a really nice experience. The setup is super clean and modern, and the service was great from start to finish. I also ended up ordering a michelada which I really enjoyed! Food-wise, the burger was good (honestly hard to go wrong there), but it didn't totally wow me. The chipotle chicken sandwich, though, was really enjoyable and had great flavor. Only small suggestion would be for the garlic fries- using fresh garlic instead of garlic seasoning would take them to the next level. Since I live nearby, I'd definitely come back for a drink and maybe a sandwich. It's a solid neighborhood spot, even if it's not somewhere I'd go out of my way for. read more

Came in on a Friday around 5:00pm and there wasn't too many people. We ordered upfront and chose a place to sit. There's plenty of booths, outdoor seating, and bar sitting. I was contemplating on sitting at the bar since I saw they have a happy hour menu but was split on what I wanted to order so ordered off their regular menu upfront. The bar has its own food menu with completely different items while the dessert area also has its own menu with milkshakes and desserts. Ordering can be kind of confusing if you want to order from all three, which I'm still trying to figure out if you hypothetically could order a milkshake, happy hour bar item, and regular menu item if I were to sit at the bar. We ordered the Diablo burger, half order of Zucchini Fries, full order of Onion Rings, and the Chipotle Pesto sandwich. The portions were actually pretty big for the price so I think it was well worth the money as we had leftovers. Definitely could have split half an order of side amongst us two since our entrees were big. My husband enjoyed his burger and barely finished it as the size was mighty. I like that the already brought a knife out to cut it. My Chipotle Pesto sandwich was good. A little messy but had good flavor and chicken was juicy. The zucchini fries were good but could use some more flavor in my opinion. Luckily, they had pretty good chipotle ranch and regular ranch I drenched them in. Overall, great spot! I've had this spot bookmarked for awhile now, and I finally tried it last night for dinner. I was craving a burger, and I remembered that this spot is also dog friendly as my boyfriend has his dog with us. There's plenty of parking as they have a big parking lot. We ordered at the counter, and I had my boyfriend gave his order first. He got a soda so they gave him a cup to fill up at the soda fountain. One of the female employees was petting Meatball, our Bulldog. She was very friendly with him and giving him lots of attention. I was finishing ordered the rest of the food for us. The guy who was taking our order asked if I wanted to get a puppy patty for our doggie, which I said "Yes." Right after I tapped my card, I hear the female employee asking my boyfriend if she can give him a puppy patty, which he said "Yes." Then she walked over to the cash register and told the guy to add a puppy patty. He told her that I already bought one, and he asked if he should remove it from our check, but she said "No, just keep it." I am bit annoyed at that if she was going to give Meatball a puppy patty for free then she could have deleted it off my check. It's not cheap. Their puppy patty is $8. We picked a table in the outdoor patio area. The tables look like picnic tables, and it's a very solid outdoor patio that doesn't seem like an outdoor patio. There were plastic glass looking windows and brick looking walls. They even have two claw machines there. One even has Labubus?! Lol Our food came pretty quickly. My boyfriend and I each got the El Diablo burger. My sis got the Haystack. We also got half order of garlic fries, hush puppies, and a full of fried zucchini. My boyfriend got a root beer, while I got a cookies-n-cream shake, and my sis got a vanilla shake. I liked the cookies-n-cream shake. It was sweet and tasty. I didn't like the El Diablo burger, even it looked great--it tasted rather bland. The garlic fries tasted a little off. I like the hush puppies with the strawberry jam. They are fast here, the food is fresh, you smell the grill from down the parking lot. We traveled far. It met our expectations. It gives bar vibes but its a burger joint, i promise! I had the Billy Roy burger, it was simple, came with a thousand island sauce, pickles and onions (asked for no tomatoes) and it was filling and tasty, and my husband got the Haystack, which he loved (though I am not a big BBQ sauce on burgers type of Person ). That said, the Oreo milkshake was honestly one of the best shakes ever, super rich and delicious. I think they add fresh Oreos to it which adds a nice crunch. Place is straight fire! I think it's pretty worth for gourmet style burger. The onion rings here are top tier! The only thing I would say is you need to ask for your fires to be crispy, they aren't by default. My friend's a regular here and loves the place. The cajun season on the fires were solid. We got the garlic fries, cheesy ravioli, the Cattle Smash, the Grilled Hawaiian, and an Oreo milkshake. Made a pit stop at Billy Roy's this week and ordered the CattleSmash -- smash-style burger with grilled onions, American cheese, and chipotle mayo -- and honestly? It delivered. That thing is salty, juicy, crispy at the edges, just messy enough to feel indulgent, and completely worth the $15. The chipotle mayo gives it just the right amount of flavor for sure. I got a half size of garlic fries. Decent. Not life changing (coulda used some chipotle mayo to dip them in), but still tasty. I went with the drink special Flight of Slushies: it was everything I needed--boozy, tasty, absolutely genius & perfect for the summer. My favorites were the Jamaican Watermelon and the Swirl -- the latter tastes like sunshine in cocktail form and is allegedly a combo of the watermelon and the mango, but without the dreaded tamarindo. And let me just say: I hated the Mango Tamarindo slushie. Whatever that red tamarind syrup is? I have beef with it. Tastes like sour regret and melted candy in a way I just cannot vibe with. It isn't "just burgers" and it isn't yet another over-hyped Bay Area place where some insufferable hipster with a man bun charges you $21.99 for a burger with a fried egg. They have multiple next-level burgers, regular burgers. A little bit of everything. Very much has the old-school burger joint vibe, with a really good menu. They regularly offer specials that are actually VERY reasonably priced. This place might be the best deal in Fremont! Literally every dish was so good with happy hour everyday at all hours?! This will be our super bowl spot! LOCATION: not far the 880 and 84, Billy Roy is easy to find and also has a large parking lot space so you won't really have a problem finding it not sure about weekends. Classic burger place feel with sports and a vintage dessert shop with candy and pastries. Nice and bright with plenty of seating inside and outside! Outside have fans and they have baby seats. FOOD: probably one of the biggest burgers I've ever had for the price. The food doesn't come with a side so it's additional cost, 4 burgers with sides and 2 milkshakes will be around $100. Burger is MASSIVE!! Sides are HUGE! Milkshakes come in the classic glass cup and was very very good, fried zucchini was amazing. The haystack lunch special was nice 3 patties and generous toppings. Came to Billy Roy's after an eye doctor appointment in Fremont and upon walking in was a little confused as we didn't realize the covered outdoor dining area is also theirs and whether to order at the counter or had tableside service. Counter service it was but with dilated eyes, was a little challenging to read the menu. I went for their namesake, the Billy Roy burger while hubby went for the Haystack and we shared the zucchini fries. The Billy Roy at $14 does seem steep for a cheeseburger with Thousand Island especially since I can get that from Firestone for less than half the cost. However, if you're into Angus beef, it may be worth it for you. The Haystack for $1 more is tall and may be hard to get your mouth around it, but I don't believe it's due to a larger patty, but the additional bacon and onion ring. I love that they offer zucchini fries as I couldn't get enough of those. It's not overly battered, flavorful on its own but also fun to dip in the different sauces you can get from their condiments bar. They have a huge variety of sauces to choose from prepacked in solo cups including something like a marshmallow fluff. We discovered a dessert area in the back and ended up getting a creme brulee to try. The service is great vs. other counter service spots as they come around to check on you vs. just dropping off your food but for the price, is a nice treat, not a frequent meal. read more
