It's ok. It's a chain breakfast place, you can't taste any soul put into the food. Generic recipe that is made for thousands at hundreds of different locations every day. The staff at this location from my two visits were not all that personable either. They lack soul just like the food they serve. Always eat locally owned when it comes to breakfast. read more

Honestly, I work at a restaurant and I'm a server so it's difficult to do this. When we came in the restaurant was pretty busy, we had a party of 11 so it was expected that service would be slower... OVER TWO HOURS we were there. Took over 30 minutes to get something to drink other than the water the host brought. The server was extremely over sat with the tables. We ordered our food as soon as we sat down and it still took forever. 30 minutes after we ordered our food he came back to see if he had our food orders correct. Your Muskegon Ihop needs help. Seems to be run by young carefree adults. Tables full of dirty dishes and all employees rolling silverware. Customers walking out and manager in the backed up kitchen helping. Your only waitress hiding in the bathroom stall. I went here the other night after not going to IHOP for a very long time. I want to get my favorite pancakes and the server and he was great. I placed my order and it took a while to get my food. I asked for extra butter and he brought out super cold butter and it was difficult using on the pancakes and one of them was falling apart which was annoying. I asked if I could get some soft butter and the other server offered to have them redone. The new order came out with softer butter and the second batch was the driest pancakes ever. I didn't even finished them and with the drink and sausage patties it was over $16 read more

I ordered a breakfast consisting of crepes filled with a cream cheese and strawberry toppings. I also got two eggs over easy, hash browns and bacon to go. Amber the waitress that took my order was very pleasant. I was impressed when I took my food outside and checked to make sure it was all there and sampled it. Hash browns were cooked just right, hot and flavorful. Eggs over easy as ordered, bacon lean, not mostly fat like other places. I liked that they packaged the strawberry topping and whip cream separately. Once I got home I added the toppings and whipped cream. It was delicious. I have tried many places for breakfast and the hash browns are usually hit or miss. That is why I had to leave a good review. Thanks! read more

Not a good Ihop. Been here 3-4 times hoping they will get on par with the Alpine Ihop. They can't make warm hash browns! Don't know why but they are always cold. Bob Evan's is a better choice just down the road. read more

Extremely frustrating. We love Ihop but this Ihop is a lost cause. After attempting to eat here several times, I think it's time to put a review. I have never had to wait so long to order food, and then the wait to get the food is astronomical. The waitresses are always spilling things , had a cup of water knocked all over my tables, just watched a waitress spill an entire plate of food on the table over. I have had to get up and get my own silverware. Constantly dirty tables. The list goes on. This location is no longer new so there is no excuse. This will be my last attempt eating here. Unless you have all day to spend ordering food, cleaning up the waitresses messes, and serving yourself, throw your money away elsewhere. read more

Went there after working third shift, had to wait until hostess got done with personal call and a couple of more calls after being acknowledged she had a waitress seat us. Got to table waited at least fifteen minutes with no one coming over to take drink order or anything. Got up walked out the door there were five to six waitress just standing around talking and goofing off. Will not eat there again unless dramatic change is done. read more

We were very pleased when IHOP came to our Muskegon area. The food is great, the price affordable,the atmosphere comfortable. Sadly, though we have noticed quite a frequent turnover in both waitress and waiters. We have observed one manager in particular who walks around looking more like a bully then a manager. And it is easy to see he makes the employees feel uncomfortable. We are frequent visitors to this establishment and have gotten to know most of the employees by name. We miss Monte who was a manager and wish him well at his new job. Chad, Roberta,Dawn super mangers and go out of their way please customers like ourselves. read more

I went to this Ihop today, around 10am. When we entered there were at least 4 empty booths in front and 1 on the back side. The gentleman who came to seat us said "is a table okay?" and I said I prefer a booth. He said I don't have a booth available. I asked him what was wrong with the empty booths and he said the waitress can't wait on that many tables, if we would like to wait 5 minutes he might be able to let us have a booth. So we took the table. Before the waitress even approached the table to take our order, the same man seated a couple at a booth right across from us. I was so peaved I only got hot cocoa, no food. I will NEVER step foot in that Ihop again, nor will I recommend it to anyone. This man should not be working with customers, he has no customer service skills. read more

When IHOP first came to Muskegon, I was excited. I finally wouldn't have to make the trip to Holland or Grand Rapids to get my IHOP fix. Now that I have been to this location a few times, I'm unfortunately still going to have to make that drive to get my IHOP experience. When they first opened, the were incredibly busy. I decided to wait a couple weeks for the novelty to wear off for my first visit. Upon my first visit, we were greeted with an unpleasant musty smell. While searching for the source of the smell, we saw one of the waitresses drop a rag that was used to wipe the tables off on the floor and promptly pick it up and put it back into the bucket. We smelled the table and found that it was the source of the musty smell. They were using old musty rags to wipe the tables off. While this alone should have made us go running for the hills, we were still excited to try it and decided to stay. The food was awful, the service was terrible, and there was quite a bit more we found that was not cleaned properly. We left and decided that maybe it was the fact that they were so new and busy and just overlooked a few things. We decided we would come back in a few months to see if anything improved. It hasn't. We stopped in last weekend to give it a second chance. Many of the things that were a problem on our first trip were still there (cleanliness, service, food) and had actually seems to get worse. The floors were filthy and our waitress was not trained and very unprofessional. I'm sorry to say that I won't return to this location and based on what I've seen on other reviews, and the fact that this pace is a ghost town even while other breakfast restaurants in the area flourish, I'll give this place another year tops and it will be out of business. read more

My nephew received moldy fruit in his fruit bowl. The service was quite poor, we often had to remind her of what food we had and how to correct the order. My French toast was doused in strawberry sauce which just led them to be soggy, cold and more like a cheap desert then a good breakfast. Was asked to speak to the manager and no one ever got him. Will surely never go to this IHOP again I'm actually quite amazing that the business is still running. read more

This IHOP is brand new to the Muskegon area and did not disappoint! The building is beautiful and unlike any other location I've visited in the past. Such friendly staff and managers made this experience exceptional. Love the food, especially the omelettes. Went there tonight for dinner. Really nice young man greeted us promptly and got us seated. From there we waited for a server. the table next to us was getting their food. The server was back to their table about three times for different request. The server then left the area after completing their request, it had been 10 minutes, we were out of there. No one said anything. My wife called and talked to the manager as we were going elsewhere and the manager gave us the excuse that the other table, only 3 tables in our section had guest, had a lot of request. True, but all he had to say at any point was "I'll be with you shortly...". But I figured after 10 minutes and leaving the area after the final request I gave them enough chances. read more

Our server was pretty amazing, he took care of all of our needs as well as running around doing other people's jobs. He even cleaned a table AFTER a hostess sat a woman at a dirty table... My grand daughter (3yrs old) and I where so excited we have an I Hop in our area. We were looking forward to going there for breakfast. To start out we walked in the door, we waited for a bit to be seated, it wasn't that busy. We were seated. I looked at the table in front of my grand daughter there was a quarter size spot of syrup, I wiped it and covered it up with her place mat. We ordered bacon and waffles for her and french toast and bacon for me. Service was slow. The waitress was in NO hurry. Meal came, bacon was burnt, waffle and french toast couldn't melt butter! My grand daughter loves bacon, the look on her face, I was very disappointed. Silver wear was sticky with syrup. I waited about 10 minutes for maple syrup (as my french toast sat there) the syrup container was warm but had sticky syrup all over it and the handle. I did't dare to say anything to any service people there. They all seemed not to care and we were a bother to them! BAD SERVICE- COLD/BURNT FOOD.
