Absolutely horrible! Waited over 40 minutes, was never waited on. People beside us were seated after us and waited on. Waitress looked at us multiple times and it was obvious we had not been waited on. Not clean and horrible service, we got up to leave and I told them the issue and nothing was done. The restaurant was nice. The service was exceptional. My eggs were horrible. I asked for one egg scrambled with cheese. They couldn't make that happen. I returned the first eggs, they were the premixed scrambled eggs. I explained I wanted one cracked egg scrambled with cheese. They brought the premixed scrambled with egg whites poured in. I am so particular about my eggs and this was disappointing however the Waffle was awesome. In their defenseless Mother's Day so the other cool maybe in the back ;) I would recommend but don't order eggs, if you want real eggs. read more

was eating breakfast for the 4th of july. i saw a manager named kim verbally abuse her staff members calling them slow and stupid. not only was she rude to other employees right in front of me, she was rude to my family rushing us and rolling her eyes. she physically looked dirty. she was so oily it looked like she was soaking wet. i didn't even want to touch the menus she gave to us. her shirt was not tucked in and she was showing her crack out to the world along with a nasty tramp stamp. i literally was disgusted. apparently they don't care who runs the restaurant as long as they make their money. i'd rather had a monkey greet me at the door. would've probably been cleaner and acted civil and more polite. i guess her management really does reflect in the whopping 2.0 stars this place has. keep it up yall! eventually she will run the ratings down to a 1 star!!!! read more

My wife and I had dinner tonight at IHOP in north Richmond. It was a service fiasco. Seated quickly and ordered quickly. Needed to repeat our order twice for the waiter to write it on his order pad. I ordered steak tips, mashed potatoes, and side salad with blue cheese dressing. My wife ordered chicken strips with Mac-n-cheese, and the side salad with blue cheese dressing. 15 minutes later we mention that having our salads would be nice. Ten minutes later the waiter brings the salads - no dressing - and tells us they are out of blue cheese dressing. We return the salads. My wife substitutes with French fries, and I substitute with Mac-n-cheese. Ten minutes later he brings us a burrito and an omelette. LOL. Then he brings our food. My order was correct. She received the chicken strips with the Mac-n-cheese, but with the mashed potatoes instead of the fries she ordered. So he takes her plate. 15 minutes later, when I'm almost finished eating, he brings her fries - nothing else. She finishes the fries while waiting 10 more minutes for her food. He brings the plate with her chicken and Mac-n-cheese......and the Mac-n-cheese was plopped on the same plate on top of the scraped off mashed potatoes! The chicken was now cold. We finished eating. He did refill my unsweet iced tea when I asked him after walking by my empty glass twice, which I had set at the edge of the table for him to see. I asked for the bill and an unsweet iced tea to-go. The bill he brought was about $10 too high because he charged us for the change in sides, which were supposed to be included with the meals. I pointed this out and showed him on the ticket. He goes to make the changes. Then we hear another waitress tell him that he did it wrong three times, so she has to re-ring the ticket and 'comps' us the sides. When we get the new ticket, they have undercharged by about $7. While waiting for the ticket correction, I removed the lid of the to-go cup to add ice and lemon. When I tasted the tea, it is now sugary sweet.....not unsweet as I ordered. Didn't have the heart to tell him.....just said thank you and left it. Note: my food was very tasty. Another example of the difficulty to hire competent help, and the continued lack of focus to customer order accuracy, coupled with poor management and lack of training. read more

The waitress was nice and helpful. It did take us some time to decide on what to order as there was a half dozen of us. The food did take a while to come out- which isn't that big of a deal- but having to wait s long time and then receiving items that were cold- is a big deal. The pancakes, bacon, eggs, and hash downs were all cold. They must have been waiting for all of the items to cook before bringing the plates over. They need to work on timing with preparing all plates or bringing things as they are ready because cold food isn't that fun or appetizing. I usually am a huddle house breakfast kind of guy; you know, the type no shirt smoking a cigarette and making people uncomfortable. Though the tattoo on my neck that read HOE (huddle over everything) may have thrown off the waitress, she was more than accommodating. When I told my server I didn't wang eggs, she said that I was getting eggs and I could eat around then, which made me feel at home. At IHOP, you can't see the cook smoking at the grill, but I like to imagine he was lighting up a Marlboro while heating my country-fried steak in the microwave. IHOP may be my go-to if I'm in Richmond if I'm traveling through and haven't defecated recently. Almost immediately after leaving, I ventured to Meijer, where I committed a terrorist attack in stall number one. I probably sat on the porcelain throne for 30 minutes, which was right on par for my usual breakfast/dinner establishment. I have to say..this IHOP is not my favorite. We came here for the All You Can Eat pancakes. The guy who seated us and took our drink order was EXTREMELY rude. I understand if you are tired..not having a good day, etc. However, if you are in the service industry, you fake a smile if you have to, but you have to be at least courteous to the customer. The waitress after him was nice though. I ordered the combo, which came with two pancakes, eggs, sausage and hashbrowns. The pancakes we're lukewarm and a bit rubbery. To me, a place with pancakes in their name should do pancakes well. This IHOP falls way short. They used to serve it with a bottle of warm syrup, but I guess that has been discontinued. We ordered breakfast. The restaurant was not busy, with plenty of waitreases to cover the dozen tables being served. We waited in line to be seated. Our drink and food orders were taken right away and we soon got our water. We were told fresh coffee was being made. At least 10 minutes passed before we were finally brought coffee. This was after the waitress brought coffee to a neighboring table that came in after us. It was over 25 minutes from the time we ordered until we were served our food. It was cold. I ate lukewarm pancakes and eggs because I was hungry. Even hungry, my husband could not eat a cold omelette. Plus, the hash browns were not cooked like he requested (crispy) and the toast was dry - no butter. We told the waitress (Hannah). She asked if we wanted the manager. When my husband said it won't do any good (he didn't want her to get in trouble) she just shrugged her shoulders and walked away. What happened to an apology and getting the manager or offering to have it remade? Poor customer service. We paid almost $40 for food that was wasn't eaten. This is probably my favorite place to get pancakes. They always get your order right and if they don't they will always easily fix it with no problems. Our waitress Christy was amazing! She was so kind and amazing she checked in with us and always made sure we had enough to drink. My favorite to eat is the southwest scramble. My wife likes IHOP so we started going to this restaurant a year ago. It never impressed me but it never disappointed me either. Today we went to IHOP and I ordered an omelette. I had to send it back because I ordered it without onions but it was loaded with them. Once I received the omelette and started eating it, I noticed an ant on the table. I killed it and said something to my wife about it. She started looking and found some more ants on her side of the table. I asked the hostess if I could speak to a manager and the manager acknowledged they had a problem with ants and said they spray weekly. If that is true that they spray weekly and still have issues then there must be more problems. We won't be going back to this restaurant for a while. read more

Went for breakfast this morning and restaurant not crowded. We were seated quickly and received good service throughout the meal. The food - awful. We both ordered omelets and basically had folded eggs - no filling to speak of. The cheese on top wasn't even melted - shredded out of the bag. The colorado omelet I ordered had two pieces of cooked fat (not meat) on top. The other omelet was bacon and tomato and there was very little bacon to be found. I mentioned to the server that the omelets left a little to be desired and she told me the managers were cooking - I told her to bring them out and I would tell them the same thing.
