We ate here after staying at the lovely Rose Hotel. The wait was short and we were seated shortly after arriving. We had the pleasure of Rosa assisting us today. She was so nice and wonderful and great! The food was hot and good. It was a wait for the food which I like because that means they are making it fresh. I told Rosa it was my daughter's birthday and she had the staff sing Happy Birthday and she received a free ice cream. I thought it was wonderful. Let me just say, I'm not really an Ihop fan because they all seem dirty to me. So many travelers from all over the world eating off of the same plates and forks and drinking out of the same glasses is just gross to me but I must say this is one of the cleanest I've ever been to. Probably the worst ihop I have ever been too. The restaurant smells like a combination of a bathroom stall mixed with food. The service is very slow and the kitchen is equally as bad. The restaurant did not follow our order properly and gave me the worst T Bone Steak (borderline grey in color) that I have ever had. Once I put my meal to the side, the staff picked up my plates and gave me the remainder of the meal that they had forgotten to bring out. I would never recommend this location to anyone. read more

Food is great for the relatively cheap price, service is exceptional with young lively and friendly servers and hosts and the restaurant has never been unable to host a larger group of patrons. I love the atmosphere here although sometimes a large group of highschoolers/college kids can come in quite late and be rather loud. Other than that it's a fantastic place to eat out! read more

Ihop is so disgusting. The people that work here are nice, but the food is repulsive. My burger tasted like I was eating a chunky piece of kangaroo mixed with so much grease and crap it's unbelievable. My brother got cupcake pancakes, but those should have been called booger pancakes because it had lumps of green substances. This is one of the cleanest IHOP i've ever been to. The food is excellent. the tilapia is soft , juicy and just melts into your mouth... the spinach and mushroom omelette is to die for. My husband and I started frequenting this IHOP a few years ago after finding their food quality and customer service to be superior to other casual area dining establishments. We are always greeted with a friendly smile, given drinks with refills as soon as they are empty, and asked if everything is okay or not. We have never had a bad omelot here. They are always big, fluffy and cooked to perfection. The chicken fajita omelot is my husband's favorite. I like the crepes or harvest grain pancakes and for lunch, the pot roast melt is always perfect. The waitstaff is always attentive to our needs, any request is always met with a smile and "I'll take care of that right away" attitude. The only time we've waited for a table is during their busy weekend morning hours when families are coming in. I think the longest wait was only 10 minutes so they really work to seat you asap. Keep up your winning combination of good food at reasonable prices and excellent customer service & we'll keep coming back every week. Thank you. read more

I have never been so disappointed with IHOP like I have when we visited on July 3rd of this year. It was probably around 11 at night when we went and the place was packed. The "host" had a little sign by him that said "half hour wait for smoking". I told him that we had 5 people and he said , but it has to be not smoking in a rude tone.. I was fine with that.. I don't care.. .so we sat down and started looking through the menu. Our waitress arrived about 5 minutes later to take our drink orders and then took another 5-10 min. to come back with them.. she never asked if we were ready to order the 2 times she came by. Then after another 10 minutes of waiting, she finally came back to take our food order. Waited for about 15min. for the food to come out. I got a Denver omelette and it was disgusting.. big chucks of meat.... a friend ordered a sandwich, she didn't ask if he wanted fries or onion rings and when she brought out the fries, he asked for onion rings and she brought him 5 onion rings.. No one in our group enjoyed their food. Some people that were seated near us, gave up after 5 minutes of sitting and no server to be seen and left. So they sat a big group of people by us with a screaming baby and it was about 12 at night by then. I would never visit this location again... Horrible service... I understand they were busy, but honestly they had enough servers and not that many tables in our section. read more

Its an IHOP. I dont know why some people expect luxury, however, this is the best IHOP Ive been to. People here actually seem to care about the quality and service. If your server is Mario, youre in luck. He is kind, attentive and friendly. Sometimes, he is running around taking care of other guests, but doesnt forget about you and makes sure you are satisfied with the food. Whenever my boyfriend and I drop by and Mario is our waiter, we have a great experience. The food has never dissapointed and the other staff is great as well. My boyfriend and I had the most AMAZING waitress! She's exactly what a workplace would want to keep around. Carolyn was her name we tend to eat out alot so we've gone through our fair share of waitresses and by far she is amazing! She was very attentive but not pushy and even brought out water without us having to ask. My boyfriend is the average tipper but he was so satisfied with the service he over a 50% tip. Food was excellent! We live in Edgewater and happened to be going somewhere on the way so decided to try this particular ihop and upon us receiving such great food and service we are more than willing to take the extra drive everytime we're feeling ihop! read more

IHOP Store #5463 September 18th, 2016 Rosemont, IL I just had the worst experience, not just at IHOP, but any establishment which is rather a shame because up until this point, I have never had a complaint about IHOP, its food, or its employees in any of the numerous locations I have visited. And unfortunately, I was with friends. Upon entering IHOP at 11:00 pm, we were seated almost immediately. We then had to wait at least twenty minutes for the waitress to come and take our order. Initially, I believed this wait was a result of staffing issues since there was only one waitress. I watched the waitress for at least ten minutes, to see if I could perhaps make eye contact or flag her down. She was actively moving, serving food and drinks, and also busing tables even though there was a bus boy. It is now my belief that the waitress was intentionally avoiding our table and keeping busy. My suspicions were, in my opinion, further confirmed when I approached the manager behind the register and asked him, extremely politely, if there was someone who could take our order. No sooner had I gotten up from the table to speak with the manager, I turned around to find the waitress ready to take our orders. Once our orders were placed, we then ended up waiting more than fifty minutes for the food to come. Again, I attempted to give benefit of the doubt, maybe there's also only one cook working since there's only one waitress. This benefit of the doubt, however, went out the window when multiple tables, who arrived after us, received their food first. At this point, I again approached the manager to ask him why tables who were seated after us had already received their food. He asked the members of my party what he could do but did not offer any suggestions himself. Once the food arrived, it was luke-warm at best while the hash browns were essentially shredded, uncooked potatoes. However, the orders were correct and no food was sent back, mainly because we had waited long enough as it was. Once we received the bill and prepared to leave, we realized that the party in front of us in line to pay was seated after we ordered our food. This meant that their party, of at least four members in comparison to our three, was seated after we ordered and still received their food, ate it, and beat us to the payment line. We again, expressed our dissatisfaction at the service and asked the manager what he was going to do to fix it. The manager, Evelio, immediately picked up the phone and asked us "So you're not going to pay your bill? Because I have to call the cops on people who don't pay." He then, in the approximately thirty minutes it took to reach a resolution, repeatedly mentioned calling the cops and our non-payment of the bill. Meanwhile, none of us said anything about not paying the bill and insisted on standing in the lobby until a resolution was reached and the bill was taken care of. Evelio made numerous offensive and incorrect judgements based on our appearance to include statements such as "We could tell you weren't going to be a run of the mill table." "You all have clearly been out having a good time." and "It's obvious that you've been drinking." None of us have been drinking tonight and the assumption is both ridiculous and offensive. None of us balked at the idea of the manager calling the cops. Honestly, if he had, the cops could have given us each a breathalyzer test which we all would have passed with flying colours because none of us had anything to drink today. Evelio stated that he was not authorized to give us any discounts on our meal, which we find unbelievable since he is the manager. He then said we could call his general manager tomorrow and when we asked for the phone number, he "accidentally" gave us the wrong. He was then shocked that he had "written it down wrong" and gave us the correct number. A member of our party called and spoke to the general manager, Aqueles, who stated "You guys are still there? I would have thought you would have left by now." This seemed a little off to us since Evelio had not left the register since we approached him to pay the bill and comment on the poor customer service. This leads us to believe that Evelio or another employee had called the general manager about our party before we even received the bill. A resolution was partially reached once the general manager called the restaurant and spoke to the manager, apparently authorizing him to comp the entire bill. We then asked the manager for a comp receipt to which he provided numerous excuses about why he couldn't provide one and finally gave us a receipt marked Paid with his initials. Honestly, we are half expecting the cops to show up at our door for skipping out on the bill. To say that the manager, Evelio, was unhelpful, shady, and offensive would be an extreme understatement. He repeatedly spoke over us and then accused us of yelling and being uncooperative. read more

We arrived at IHOP at around 12:30AM after watching a late night movie. We're a group of six and we ordered burgers, onion rings, and omelets. After 10 minutes of waiting for our food, a group of 8 white men came and gave their orders. The men got their food ahead of us and we were served after almost 45 minutes of waiting. In addition, we were informed that they run out of burgers and onion rings because they served it to the group of men that came 10 minutes after us. Are we back to the racial discrimination era in getting served in restaurants? Were we set aside in the priority of getting served, because we're Asians and mostly women compared to the group of white men? This was not my first time in this IHOP location and I never expected this kind of poor service from them.
