Had a wonderful time with my son, at our regular celebration spot on Woodward, IHOP!! Was seated in a timely manner and greeted by both Maurice and Kelly. Upon being seated Maurice heard that we were there to celebrate my son's accomplishment of a 4.0 as a freshman in high school and he was complimented and rewarded for his efforts. Kelly was attentive and accommodating the entire time. We felt welcomed in our celebratory hot spot that we have frequented for the last 3 years. The food was hot and served promptly. Stopped in here with friends who wanted breakfast so I figured I would try out the very talked about burgers and IHOB slogan. I had the mushroom swiss burger with a side of onion rings. The burger was a little over ten dollars and while waiting I checked out some online reviews, most said they were good! For nine dollars it should be pretty good, in penny pincher value minded opinion. Burger came with mushroom, swiss, sautéed onion and mayo on it. Had decent flavor but nothing that was notable, about what I would expect out of any truck stop diner. Not many onion rings either, I would not say stingy but for sure they are not generous. This IHOP is a solid Woodward Avenue establishment. It doesn't stand out amongst the crowd, but the service is solid and the food is typically pretty tasty. IHOPs in general have fabulous waffles and pancakes, so we highly recommend them. Unfortunately the Eggs Benedict was a little lacking and the "For Me" menu (the lower-cal options) can be a little bland. However, if you're looking for standard breakfast fare and a whole lot of syrups, give the Woodward IHOP a try. The fellow who was bussing the tables was great! He had a genuine smile and was very polite. Our waitress at this particular visit was also very pleasant. Check the "Save On Everything" flyer and newspaper for coupons because they come out several times a year. This gets more bang for your buck. And as for hours... I also asked so I have to pay and wait for food again? I paid and ordered this an hour ago. The host states to me I can get you a milkshake or some extra bacon. The empathy for customers and their time has never been valued at this location. When you work a job that you know that is gonna be a busy one. Came in today this is one of the locations I frequent, they have a high turnover rate Antwan no longer works there, and pretty much all the good servers are gone, they have totally downgraded. My husband and I had unfortunate luck to receive Krystal (who is in training) and Shawnee (who was training her) as our servers. I understand the difficulty in cooking with GF batter, but to have a 30-minute round trip for that mess was more than irritating. My husband and I went to the Woodward Cruise Friday night. Around 5 pm we stopped at Ihop for a bite to eat. I had French toast, scrambled eggs,bacon, hash browns and a small stack of buttermilk pancakes. My husband ordered a side of onion rings. Our food was horrible!!!! Our food was not fresh. It seemed and tasted as though it was old and heated up in a microwave. My husbands onion rings were soggy and tasted and smelled sour. They were spoiled. He tried to eat a few but couldn't hack it. I was going to talk to the employee and or manager but as I looked for someone I noticed most employees hovering around the front of the kitchen window joking and laughing. Snapshot: Best for breakfast at non-breakfast hours... if you can get past the roaches. As might be expected, any IHOP adjacent to a giant church is best avoided during peak breakfast hours (6AM to 1 PM weekends) or whenever the silver set might be scurrying about. This strange outpost of International Pancake Outreach is laid out in such a way that it cannot accommodate many diners or vehicles at any given time. I have never seen an IHOP built around two dining rooms that are, in effect, little more than a pair of hallways with the entrance and kitchen dead centre. Frankly, I hate the layout. I feel like the cooks are at my elbow, and without the hibachi Iron Chef vibe going on, it's no fun. This is not Alinea. When the restaurant is quiet, however, it can be a pleasant enough place to dine. Try to get a view facing Woodward for especially scenic views during the evening. I find something peaceful about watching headlights strobe through the gloom of a late autumn night. This IHOP does a reasonable job preparing orders, though the very young servers seem to habitually forget something -- salsa, syrup, side of toast, cup of tea. I have yet to dine here without an incident involving a correction on the receipt or a failure to receive a basic side that comes with a meal. I'm not talking some weird substitution, but an omelette delivered without hashbrowns or toast, fruit crepes missing the fruit, or what have you. I suppose we should count our lucky stars the plate showed up. Some of the oversight can be attributed occasionally to being busy, but since we avoid peak times like the plague, that's only part of the issue. Nonetheless, the food does come out pretty good. I can watch it being made, which is probably a plus. The stuffed French toast, though devastating to any kind of meal plan or diet, is actually darned good. Frequent savings can be had by signing up for their birthday newsletter or eyeing local flyers for coupons, too. What condemns the dining experience -- and drives me into OHOP's loving arms two miles away -- is the cleanliness factor. I no longer want to touch this location with a twenty-foot pole due to a problematic roach infestation. On two recent visits, I found roaches in the women's washroom, which itself was in need of some pretty heavy sanitation. Given how small the facilities are, the restaurant is certain to have unwelcome pests skittering underfoot in the dining area too. Ughhhhh. Note: Parking is a pain. It took about 10 minutes to get a seat and then we sat down and didn't see anyone for a good 15 minutes.
