Do not order for delivery from here! Order was incomplete, and portions were ridiculously small. We ordered 2 omelettes, which came with a side dish for each, but we only received 1 of those. Which was toast- with no butter and was hard and dry. The hash browns for the other omelette was missing. We also ordered a chicken sandwich- which came as ordered, and a turkey melt with Mac n cheese- which was literally 2 bites worth. When I called to let them know there were issues, the woman on the phone was rude and unhelpful and told me to come in to talk to her manager about the side dishes. She said it was all pre- measured (the Mac n cheese) and it WAS 4oz. I told her there was absolutely no way 2 spoonfuls would equal 1/2 cup- which is 4 Oz. I recently visited the Salem Oregon one off Lancaster rd. I ordered the create your own omelet and picked maybe 4 toppings but was very surprised to see my omelet meal came to $18.99. The omelet (egg only) is $9.99 then the toppings each were $1.09. That's ridiculous that the egg costs $9.99. That should cover the omelet and at least 2 toppings then extra toppings maybe $1.09. it was horrible - all around. The general ambience was of cheap quality. The food didn't come out for a long while, and when it did it was incomplete and cold. it took 15 minutes to finally complete and bring out our order, also taking three waves to do so. No one checked on our table. When the rest of our order did come up it was cold and tasted off. Going to Sharis for any meal time would be like a 5-star restaurant compared to this. I would rate it no stars, if I could. It was so bad, I wouldn't take any vouchers of compensation for this experience if they were offered. The first time I ordered from IHOP they did not deliver the drinks nor 2 of the meals my kids and I ordered. The second time I took my kids there. They follow Covid regulations very well so that's good. But, they made the wrong milkshakes for us, did not cook half of my order, and when I politely asked for the missing order and for water the waiter had a condescending attitude. Just stay away- terrible service, non personable waitresses, was seated and immediately asked if we knew what we were getting, took our order and brought our food. Next time we saw the waitress she dropped the check on our table and simply said here's your check before immediately walking away. Never got asked how the food was, if we needed a refill/more pancakes (ordered all you can eat pancakes)/napkins/ or to-go boxes. Food was served barely warm, butter didn't even halfway melt on the food, my daughters chicken strips tasted like they were fried in burnt oil. Tables stayed dirtied with dishes, partition had fingerprints all over it and my booth seat was sticky. Customer at the table behind us was listening to music and videos on his phone loudly for the whole duration of our 40 minute stay. Walk in the door and you are met by a hostess who tells you that you aren't good enough for a booth. Instead they are stuffing customers into one side of the restaurant. After being seated, prepare to be ignored for a while. There are no manners in any of the employees to include the manager. A server finally came to talk to us and mid sentence just walks away to go take an order from another table, who has already placed their order. After returning, asks what she can get for us. I replied "an apology" for walking away mid sentence. She quickly blamed the manager, for making her do it. We proceeded to order, where we were meet with inattentive repeatedly asking what we just said. Fine, just bring me food. But as we are waiting the waitress decides to complain to another table about how I was mean to her because of her rude behavior. Next thing you know they are hugging in the middle of the restaurant. So, we paid for my husbands coffee and the three sips of hot chocolate that I had. No I don't want to add a tip. Except this, learn how to treat people. Here's a good one: Our bill was slightly under $20, so we gave the server a $20, a $5 and asked for change. We got back the $5 we gave her and a quarter. I guess that's a way to guarantee a really big tip (or a very small one). The pancakes and toast were stale, the bacon was undercooked and the juices tasted watered-down. On the other hand, the eggs were excellent, enough to merit an additional star (barely). Oh, and we had a couple of ants visit us during our meal. Not an excellent dining experience. read more

I don't expect VIP service at IHOP -- this isn't Morton's Steakhouse. What I do expect is reasonable service and good food. On this visit the food was good, as is usually the case with this location. What I didn't expect was to basically be ignored by our server. Our server, who wasn't on break or lunch, was attending to her other tables and ignored us for over 10 minutes after we were originally seated. After asking another server to call Stephanie, our server, to the table --- we waited another 3 minutes and she finally came over. She took our order, with no apology for the delay and never brought our drinks. After waiting another 10 minutes the buss boy, Kevin, proactively offered to grab the drinks our server forgot. He was our hero! We got our food shortly thereafter and enjoyed that portion of our experience. I was whole heartedly disappointed in this experience, specifically Stephanie who didn't seem to care about her lack of effort and attention. We won't be going to this location again anytime soon. And when we do, we will request to not sit in her section. read more

We pulled an extra chair and notified server that we accidentally miss counted. The sever became upset and proceeded to give us a speech of on the importance of having an accurate count. I apologized and he proceeded to counting his rant! And I quote" For future reference, you need to count correctly so we know how to set up correctly. Now we have to figure out to rearrange". Many in our group kept apologizing, but he just went on and on. So for future reference make sure you count your party correctly or you will be hearing a huge rant. Someone call the service police right away, there is a suspect that is ready to be apprehended here. This IHOP is similar to all of franchised locations around the US, but with ridiculously terrible service. The food was great -- my hashbrowns were crispy as can be, my eggs were fluffy, my toast was buttered just right. The prices were a bit high for a diner in Oregon, but justifiable for the food one would be getting. Our waitress, while full of smiles, lacked the courtesy to ask us how everything was going let alone be attentive to our needs. Her manager who worked the front counter, was grumpy and was rushing us as we attempted to pay. I may dread eating there now and feel bad for the people who work there who have to deal with such poor attitudes in service. read more

Not sure why some reviews are bad for this place. The eggs were perfectly cooked (I am really picky about my eggs being the right over easy consistency), & pancakes were definitely on point. I was a bit surprised by this one. I went here only because of a team event and they were able to accomodate us. My last couple of visits to an IHOP have been dismal to say the least. So I was pleasantly surprised by this one. It was clean!! and not run down. The food was delcious and came very quickly. I also love the promotion of kids eating free after 4pm every day. A very nice touch. My only complaint is that we were a really big group and they only had one waitress to take our orders. There were multiple tickets and our kids were in different areas. So ordering took a long time. We had reservations ahead of time, so I think they could have staffed up a bit better for that. But that aside, the orders came super quick, that some were done eating before others had their orders taken. It was the best of a difficult situation, but I downgrade a star for that. There were two or three others bringing food in. Maybe one of them could have taken orders too?? Overall a good experience and tasty food. Like I said, other stores in the chain aren't too good anymore. If this one was close to home, I just might be a regular customer. The local operation could learn from this one. I enjoyed my burger. The basic Steakhouse burger that was on special for 6.99 with unlimited fries. Burger was cooked well, as requested. Came with the onions grilled, as I specified. The fries are decent, medium of the road fries that came crisp and hot. I had plain water, and the cup was always full, which considering I probably drank 4 glasses or so, is saying something kudos to wait staff. read more

We sat down and were greeted by our server Savannah who was very nice and helpful and in the middle of getting our orders her manager walked over (Tina) and interrupted her, and saw a table next to us that didn't have drinks but already had their food and began to reprimand Savannah right in front of us and made her stop getting our order to go to the other table and get their drinks. Savannah did what she said and left us wondering what was going on. Savannah began crying and delivered their drinks and came back to us to get our order (again being very nice and helpful). After she got our order Tina came over to us and asked if we wanted HER to retake our order and we said NO Savannah did great. Then she walked over to a guy in our party and smacked him on the shoulder asking if he was done with his menu so she could stop hounding Savannah on getting his order. Tina was SOOO rude and inappropriate and treated her employees terribly. We have ALL worked in restaurants and cannot believe she works for a company as big and established as IHOP. We will never go there again as long as she works there. IHOP, Please take action immediately. Perfectly average IHOP. We go there every time we get their email offers. Always enjoy going to IHOP and see what's new in their "Featured" menu. In this occasion, we were able to try the Jelly Donut and the Banana Nut Crunch pancakes. Quite good! Service was a little slow. We got water (the only drink we ordered) after waiting for about 10 minutes. No one seemed specially friendly or cheerful, but they weren't rude either and got the job done. Service so bad it's bordering on incompetence. When we arrived, there were maybe ten tables occupied in the entire restaurant. Although our server handed us the specialty menu with all chicken entrees when we sat down, we were informed that they were out of chicken only after my wife had ordered a chicken sandwich. Why, then, did they hand us the menu if they knew that they were out? The table next to us had empty sugar packets littering the floor that no one cleaned up for at least 15 minutes after we sat down. It's gross to see that little care given to cleanliness in a restaurant. When our server brought our food she asked if we needed anything else and I had to literally ask for silverware. She brought knives and forks, but no napkins because they couldn't find any in the back. I instead had to go to the bathroom and grab some paper towels for us. My food was dry and pretty bland, and my wife's simple requests for her burger (light mayo, pepperjack cheese) were not followed. As I finished my meal I noticed that they had not offered to refill my iced tea. I informed my wife that I was not going to leave a tip because the service had been so bad, but she insisted that I not completely stiff them. Just as I was willing to give the staff one last chance to change my opinion, the waitress brought us the wrong check. I downloaded the Yelp app once I got home so I could leave this review. The staff at this location needs some serious training in service industry etiquette and work ethic. read more

I have been here only a handful of times, and EVERY time I experience the same three things: 1) it's busier than busy 2) good food 3) good service I've eaten different things each time I'm there, and have yet to be disappointed. Breakfast usually makes me sick, but I like IHOP. Today was the first time I haven't been completely impressed with my waitress; usually we get someone who is running around like crazy to make sure her patrons are completely satisfied. Today's wasn't noticeably attentive or inattentive. Usually anywhere from a 5-20 minute wait for seats on a Sunday, but that's because Sunday is quite obviously the best day to go out and have breakfast.
