I have been here only a handful of times, and EVERY time I experience the same three things: 1) it's busier than busy 2) good food 3) good service I've eaten different things each time I'm there, and have yet to be disappointed. Breakfast usually makes me sick, but I like IHOP. Today was the first time I haven't been completely impressed with my waitress; usually we get someone who is running around like crazy to make sure her patrons are completely satisfied. Today's wasn't noticeably attentive or inattentive. Usually anywhere from a 5-20 minute wait for seats on a Sunday, but that's because Sunday is quite obviously the best day to go out and have breakfast. We went to the Salem IHOP today, we walked in the door, The host was sitting on top of the counter, having a inappropriate conversation with some girl sitting in the lobby, we get sat and look at the menu, $2 for one damn egg are you kidding me?!?! Oh not to mention $6.29 for two sausage links?!?! I guess there is a reason why IHOP is closing so many stores, I mean of all the other stores are as shitty as this location then my all means close every last one of these good for nothing stores! This place is either okay, or terrible. Really no inbetween. I've had dirty dishes served to me, seen ants on the table, and been delivered food that was either burnt or undercooked. This place gets busy, and normally that doesn't bother me, but when you're seating other people that haven't been waiting nearly as long as you have and they have the same group size, its irritating. Some servers just kind of disappear and forget about you while you watch everyone around you get helped too. When the food is right, its good, but the service and environment is what really bugs me. The service was extremely slow and once I had received my meal the pancakes were cold and tasted as if they had been out for an hour or so. The hash browns were in a rather small proportion and they were also cold. However, the eggs. Man those eggs. Probably the best eggs ever. So it saved them from 1 star. read more

Coming into this iHop was not very pleasant. The hostess glared at me more some reason and I'm still not sure why. Maybe because i had my phone out while we were coming in however I wasn't staring at it. She sat us down, gave us menus, and asked for our drinks. I asked for an ice water with extra ice and she looked at me like I was stupid, husband asked for coffee, and daughter asked for a water. Apparently she had no idea what I was asking for because she came back two minutes later without my drink and gave the rest of the table theirs. Then she had to ask what my drink was again because she didn't understand. She left and we noticed we had no straws for the kid's cup, and then no silver wear at all so my husband could mix his coffee. Ten minutes later the server came to take our order and I asked for the items we were missing. There was only two other tables so it's not like they were busy. The water that I got tasted LITERALLY like soap so I had to ask for another. After ordering our food, it came. I kindly asked for a side of ranch. He brought our food, handed me my fries, then sat the ranch cup down. It BARELY had any ranch in it. He apologized and stated that there was no more ranch left in that container. He said if I wanted more ranch to ask when he comes back and he will go ahead and open another container. Lmfao really? Wow. My daughter asked for a refill on her water and she never got it after we asked for her when he came back again. We just gave up, paid the bill, left, and went to sonic a mile down the road for a great treat for all of us!! I gave it two stars because my husband said the food tasted okay. The worst experience ever! My kids love this place so took them with my mom to have breakfast. They were busy but that's no excuse for the food and service being horrible. Our food had obviously been sitting under a warmer for a very long time. Everything was rubbery. My omelet had nothing inside it, just some ham sprinkled on top. My daughter would only eat one piece of her bacon and usually she eats a whole package. Several tables who sat down after us got their food first. The manager wouldn't come talk to us but sent another waitress to talk to us. The pancakes were cold and rubbery. Needless to say I will NEVER go back! This place has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. We waited about 15 minutes to get seated which wasn't bad at all. Once we were pointed to a table (not seated) in the middle of chaos, we sat down. It took seconds before I was shoved and pushed from servers and customers passing through. I immediately asked a server if we could move to a table she had just cleared off. She responded," That table is for someone else." We decided to leave as I was not ok with sitting there and was overly "hangry" already. As we were leaving, I let the server, who refused to move us, know that we were leaving. First off, let me say that the staff are some of the most friendly people I have ever met. Now to the food. I have never had a problem with the food here. It always tastes good. Every time I have been in and the manager is there he stops and talks with me, and they are all so sweet to my little ones. It's nice to go somewhere and have them be nice to little kids, because we all know kiddos are kind of messy and many servers don't like having to serve kiddos. Granted I don't like my kiddos to make messes for other people, so I am pretty good at cleaning up after them, but still they are so sweet and good at making sure the kiddos are happy with their food, and I love seeing a manager who is so hands on. I've seen him start serving and get in there when things are busy, it's nice to see a manager help out his team, not just tell them what to do. I haven't made it in in a long time because life is busy, but honestly for me the manager makes this place... plus the chicken crepes, those are my fav. Hope the next time I make it in the same guy is running the place :) read more

5 stars for our incredible server. We were traveling and stopped here to meet up with friends - at their suggestion. We were early - no problem, we were seated and never pressured or hurried along - even after our friends arrived and the food was ordered and served (and eaten!) It's the first time we had seen these friends in maybe 20+ years - so . . lots of catching up to do! The server could not have been more gracious. And . . .the manager was also wonderful - and we heard him complimenting a staff person about something. He is an encourager - and the it was evident by how pleasant all staff was! And . .we were very pleasantly surprised by how good the food was (and huge variety on the menu.) Joyce was my server today. She did such an excellent job! Friendly but not pushy. She is a keeper for sure. The food was great! I had the chicken florentine crepes, awesome! It is enough for dinner as well. I love their coffee. Bold taste but not bitter. I don't come here often because it's not close to home but when i do i ALWAYS have an excellent meal. Terrible service. Had to finally ask a waiter to help us, and we were placed at the table where the waiters and waitresses came out with the food. I order coffee and water, my wife ordered water. We both ordered from the menu nothing major. I asked that my eggs be folded like an omelette with avocado on top, my wife asked for a side of gravy. We were never given the waters or coffee until the waiter brought our food to us, 25 minutes later. The food: My hashbrown potatoes tasted burnt, dry, and cold. My wife's food was cold From where I was sitting I could see when the cooks put the plates onto the ready counter and ours plates were up there within 15 minutes after the waiter took our order. The business was not that busy. People were being seated in only half the restaurant and there were 4 waiters working. So that broke down to four tables per waiter. I never leave bad reviews and try to focus the positive but I was treated so poorly at this location I had to speak up. I understand that with Covid you will find long wait times and that's ok but I was told only a 10 minute wait after 30 minutes I'm noticing a lot of open tables and I'm alone in the freezing waiting area. I go up to hostess just to ask and she basically rolls her eyes at me and says I'm number 3 on the list and it will a bit longer, another 10 minutes and they seat me. I'm thinking great! I sit and wait and wait noticing the guy who turns out to be my server is playing a game on his phone at their station. I'm there an hour at this point and don't even have a glass of water yet I'm about to just walk out but I'm starving and he finally approaches my table so I order. The server was a tall dark haired guy with blue eyes and he just had this total demeanor that made me feel like a burden and a nuisance! He didn't ever check on me after delivering the food or refill my diet coke so I finished the last portion of my meal without anything to wash it down....I could of flagged him over but I just basically wanted to hurry and finish. The long story short the food was ok but this turned into a miserable 90 minute lunch in a freezing cold restaurant. Went at 1 PM on a Friday. Waited 15 minutes just to have them ask if we wanted something to drink. The table next to us angrily confronted them about the coffee they had been waiting for and was told "it is brewing". Ten minutes later they brought my Hubby's tea but told me they were out of ice for my water (!?). Took our order but did not write anything down. Watched an order sit for 10 minutes under the light until a waitress finally picked it up to deliver to a table. Watched them wash all the tables out of the same bucket of water. No water changes or sanitizer was used. Twenty minutes later they came and asked us to confirm our order. When we said we already ordered, they again said they wanted to "confirm it". Admitted that they had not entered our order yet. The waitress stated that our order slip had fallen out of her book. I told her she did not write anything down - there was no slip. She became confrontive. Decided to leave. Asked them to comp the tea and they refused. Will never return to this location and plan to warn our friends and family to not go as well. read more

They get 1 star for the food being as expected, mostly (My husband's omelette was cold). Came here on a Saturday morning. Arrived at 9:20a, did not get out the door until 10:20. Problems from the top down. They had the staff to accommodate the amount of customers. Kitchen must've been very disorganized because it took over 30 minutes to get our food. That was unanimous throughout the restaurant, except for the table that complained as soon as they sat down. The manager made sure that they're food came quick. In the 30 minutes while we waited for our food, our server did not come by or even look our way. When our server delivered our food, he asked if there was anything else he could get us. We asked for some specific condiments. 10 minutes later, I went and grabbed the condiments myself. In the hour that we were there, and the 3 times the server car to our table (order, deliver food, check out) he never once got us a refill of our waters. The wait staff was rude. I asked for a party of 8 and I did have my son with me and for some reason he kept saying a party of 7 and a high chair. I had to keep telling him "no need of a high chair we just have 8 people my son won't use a high chair" and he kept going on about a damned high chair. So finally he just said okay no high chair. And he walked off. The rest of the party showed up and we understood people who came in after us got seated first because we had a large group no big deal. And mind you we had 4 little kids under 7 years old and 4 adults. About 20 minutes passed we were waiting patiently. He comes back and says I have 2 booths and we can seat you there and put high chairs at the end... again with the high chairs. We asked "why would we want to sit apart? If we wanted to sit apart we wouldn't be going out as a group" he then rudely and in a very exasperated tone said " well then fine I guess your going to have to wait longer" at this point we didn't want to wait because of how bad the service was we didn't want to know how much worse it would get sitting at a table.
