There was also the issue with the AC not working which I hope can be fixed every coming summer .

We had the Petit Dejuener Deluxe breakfast which includes one pastry (either a croissant, chocolate croissant or bread pudding), a baguette (with either butter, homemade jam or honey), organic fresh eggs made to order or quiche slice, fresh squeezed orange juice and a yogurt with granola and fresh fruit and a black coffee or tea. It's a great option for those unable to decide on what to eat for breakfast. They have sandwiches, individual baked goods, à la carte items and hot and cold drink options as well. The nachos with boudin sauce and a lemon sour cream was out of this world with flavor. It what bean dip wishes it could be. I was so full I couldn't finish it, but I went for that dip. So I don't think I'm a snob about them but these were terrible. They aren't crispy or salty...they are sort of stale and tasteless (but you do taste the powder sugar). I'm surprised by how bad they were versus the other food when it's a Nola breakfast place. My son got a pancake and it was way better than the beignet. Not sure if I would come back, but if I did it would be for a happy hour again (but I'd skip the beignets). Our server was wonderful. Nice and attentive.

The location is perfect step out the front door and you're right in downtown San Antonio. From the hotel restaurant, you can take the stairs or elevator directly down to the River Walk, which makes getting around so easy and convenient. What we especially loved is that this hotel has so much character and charm. It doesn't feel like one of those cookie-cutter chain hotels. We had a balcony, although it was simply too hot during our visit to sit outside and enjoy it. I'm sure it would be wonderful on a cooler evening! The bar and restaurant were both excellent, and the entire staff was friendly and welcoming. A special shout-out to the valet guys they provided wonderful service and were always so helpful. I've eaten here a few times now and I've always been impressed. I've never had to wait to be seated. My server has always been kind courteous and helpful, and always added to the experience. IHOP is definitely one of my favorite breakfast places but they do have a few good options for lunch and dinner. Next time you're in the neighborhood and looking for a good place to eat. By they're open 24 hours great for those late-night pancake cravings. Is also a great place for family outings, or a small group of friends. read more
