    BBQ chicken pizza

Sweetfire is located in La Cantera Resort and has inside and outside seating as well as a bar. The drinks are made well and the food is good. We shared a BBQ chicken pizza which had good flavor and also had the southern style cornbread. The cornbread was a bit dry. Service was good.

We attended a birthday brunch at SweetFire Kitchen and had the best time and food while there. Our dedicated staff made sure our glasses stayed full, our coffee hot, and the plates cleared. One lady (I want to say her name was Mercedes) was so personable that I would go back just to hang out with her, LOL! The food on the buffet was plentiful and the staff manning it was engaging and helpful with questions and serving. My favorite was their "build your own smoked salmon station." Even as they were drawing to the end of brunch service, the food stayed plentiful and the staff went above and beyond to assist. I took off one star because I did notice the prices were pretty steep. Our hostess paid the bill, but I can imagine that, for the price, the selection of food was a little disappointing. SweetFire is located in the La Cantera Resort which has a beautiful interior layout. The only downside, and another reason for the 4-star review is that you have to pay for parking on top of the food and drink you consume. Overall, though, I would return and do think it's worth it.

The service was impeccable! Ivett took great care of us. I really enjoyed the crab beignets and my redfish and shrimp. I will say the redfish was overcooked so I couldn't finish it. This is my second time here and I did notice the kitchen took a while again, which is a common occurrence here. It was also a little louder than last time but overall it's still a great spot to enjoy a hearty meal and great drinks!

The pasta was amazing as well as the filet

This is the updated menu for fall 2025. Service was great, good location and good ambiance

This was my the second year that we visited SweetFire Kitchen for the Mother's Day Brunch. As we were only able to snag a reservation because someone cancelled last minute last year (and my mom was over the moon about it), I made reservations in February this year... it took some planning! The restaurant called once I made the reservation and requested that a card be put down to hold the reservation (to charge if we were no-shows) and also called to confirm my reservation twice in the weeks before. It seemed a bit much but it wasn't a big deal. The buffet had a different selection of stations/ options this year which was a bit of a surprise but was OK. I will note, the selection of items and the ability to keep the items stocked was better in 2022. The cheese/meat station was often bare and had people waiting for more to be put out. This year, they did had the following stations: desserts, prime rib, ham, salmon, chicken & waffles, seafood (oysters, shrimp & muscles), omelet and more. While some of the dishes weren't my favorite/ weren't the best... there were other things that were outstanding (waffles, chicken sausage, desserts) so I really couldn't complain as I thoroughly enjoyed my meal as did my family. As for the the restaurant itself... it was nice while still a casual environment. There were guests dressed from pajamas to long dresses... a very flexible environment. Lastly, I want to mention the service. Amber was our server and she was fantastic! Not only was she very efficient in bringing drinks and any sauces ordered, but she was helpful in making suggestions and making the morning a pleasant experience. Truthfully, every staff member we spoke with was very nice and happy to help. We will request Amber any time we visit - I highly recommend her! Overall, this was another successful mothers day brunch! Worth a visit!

Had a wonderful breakfast buffet during our stay. It wasn't as busy as I thought it would be at about 8:30am on a Sunday. There was a group ahead of us and then we were promptly & happily seated by the window overlooking the grounds and Topaz pool area. It was an overcast day but it was still a beautiful view with floor to ceiling windows and brightly lit room away from the main dining room. Darian was our server and explained the buffet price($28) or if we wanted to order a la carte. We went for the buffet since it was included in our room rate. We were served coffee, water and Almond Milk for our creamer as requested. The coffee was medium roast but bold. I walked around the buffet area to take a look at the options and started off with a huge, fluffy biscuit. They had chicken sausage, pork sausage, bacon & potatoes in warming stations. There was a separate area for fried chicken, country gravy and waffles with maple syrup, whipped cream M&Ms & butter in case you wanted to make chicken & waffles. There was a fruit station with watermelons, strawberries/blueberries/blackberries, honeydew, pineapple and next to them was some lox, cream cheese, red onions, capers and sour cream. The pastry/bread station had mini croissants, muffins, bagels, bread and a toaster, jam and a very sweet nut bread. The omelette station had several fillings to choose from. I ordered a smaller omelette as Pete, the Omelette Chef, asked if I wanted a big or small omelette as in 2-3 egg omelette. Clever! Now I know that I can specify! I had him put mushrooms, spinach, chopped tomatoes, chopped green peppers and cubed ham. There was some salsa off to the side so I put some in a small cup. I proceeded to put some lox, capers & berries on another plate. The lox was fresh, not slimy and really was a healthy protein option. Service was attentive and Damian would come by offering more hot coffee from the carafe. It was such a pleasant experience and the food was good. I'm ready to come back again!

Food was underseasoned. I had bacon Brussels sprouts & fried quail & waffles. Disappointed & a waste of calories. I had to ask for salt to choke down the quail. At least the bacon made up for some of the crispy but flavorless Brussels sprouts. Service was slow & lackluster to boot!

I am a chocolate lover and not very picky when it comes to dessert. This cake was gross and a complete waste of $12. Visually it looked great but it was fairly flavorless and spongy. I could not taste ANY peanut butter or banana (which drew me to it) and the bacon with it was just weird. Move along and find something delightful somewhere else lol. (December 2023)

We had two meals- one was lunch to go and another was a large group dinner. Food: Good food that was well-prepared. SweetFire burger was great. NY Strip was excellent. Drinks: Excellent drink options and a great Old Fashioned Service: Good service Cleanliness: overall above average Misc: Very nice room for private groups

    Oven Roasted Gulf Fish

Had a nice dinner with friends last night. Restaurant was very clean and the waitstaff was just attentive enough. Started with the House made Cornbread. I liked the crusty top with the moist center. They had good flavor. The Oven Roasted Gulf Fish was a red drum and it was cooked well. The pilau served under the fish was good. The Corazon del Sol Malbec was delicious. Overall, a good value for the price.

We tried the sweet fire kitchen during our recent stay at La Cantera resort. We tried their breakfast and we are so glad that we started our day with some amazing food. The ambiance was A+ with options of both inform and outdoor seating. I love the fact that the menu is short and simple with all the breakfast essentials. Hubby tried their Veggie omelette and I tried their eggs Benedict and both were so good. The service is exceptional as the server was super quick and kept on checking with us. Definitely a must try place in the San Antonio area.

Came here for the Grinch brunch and was blown away by the attention to detail. The food stations included everything you could want: roast beef carving station, veg section, waffle bar, omelet bar, charcuterie, breakfast food, and a beautiful dessert spread. The house was fully staffed and even the manager was rounding to make sure the food was stocked. The Grinch was housed in his own section and they had staggered story times and pictures so the line was never too long. There were tons of TV's playing football and The World Cup. The kids were given cups to take home and cookies at the end. Outside there is a huge beautiful Christmas tree to take pictures. This place takes brunch to a new level.

The food was okay! Although the service was a little strange. I'm not sure if we had someone new. I ordered an avocado toast that was great, and my husband ordered a French toast. The French toast was supposed to come with berries and it with just bread. when we asked the waiter if he could have the berries it came with, he said that he specifically put the order to be without it for some reason without us asking for it. we also both ordered mimosas but he gave my husband a glass of champagne without orange juice, which was also a little strange. He was very nice. It was just a weird interaction haha. It was nice to sit outside hot weather day to enjoy the surroundings. For what we paid we probably just could've gone somewhere else that was better with more food, but it may be worth the money if you just want to keep the peaceful ambiance and stay on the resort. If I came back, it would definitely be out of convenience, but not because I really liked it there.

We walked in about 15 minutes before our actual reservation so we hung out at the bar and had a drink. Before we were done with our drinks, the hostess came over to us to let us know our table was ready. I did not know that this was an open kitchen concept but I was thrilled when I seen it. We were seated by the kitchen. I thought it was bd a bit noisy but the kitchen staff was quiet which allowed us to enjoy our meal and conversation. The waitress was very nice and observant. She did not interrupt our conversations, she waited until we sat plates aside as we were done to avoid reaching over us, and she even took pictures for us. She also offered us glasses of prosecco to celebrate with. We ordered the roasted carrots and pork belly for appetizers and the short beef ribs and steak for entrees. The food was so good! I mean, the steak melted in your mouth! I thought the steak at Bohanan's was great but I think Signature got the best of them. The service and food were flawless and I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. I'll be back for my birthday and other celebrations/events.

One guest was served butter and a pho amuse bouche at the same time so she took a good spoonful of her butter, dipped it into her pho, and ate it because nobody told her what she had just been served. I can't imagine what she was thinking. Started with some fresh bread and a generous medallion of a butter and onion ash roll. Nice touch. The pho came to me cold but I found out it was intended to be hot. I guess if it's not served immediately it gets cold really fast because it's just a sip or two. It was very clean and OK flavor but I prefer the deep, umami richness of a fatty pho broth. Continuing with the amuse bouche, I was served a platter of three pieces--a scotch egg, cornbread truffle and fries, and something unmemorable. The scotch egg and cornbread were OK but at this point I was starting to wonder if I was wasting my time and money. Then I tried the tuna and that was a flavor bomb. Cubed tuna over a creamy coconut sauce with a hint of heat, balanced with fresh citrus and purple potato crisps for some added texture and a tasty salt finish. This was visually stunning and just singing in my mouth. I absolutely loved it! Scallop and caviar topped with smoked king salmon, and crispy leeks. This was rich and decadent and I appreciated the crispy leeks to balance the otherwise soft textures. Wished the lime was a little more pronounced to help brighten and lift some of the richness, but still a very good dish. Charred romanesco broccoli with a romesco sauce and green salsa was served with pickled raisins and a heaping serving of shredded manchego cheese. This was good but not something I'd want to reorder. Raspberry bergamot lemon sorbet was just the refreshing bite needed before the heavy hitters. The Texas Wagyu coulotte was cooked to perfection. It was simple, served with mushrooms, and didn't need a lot of fuss. For desert, I was served a persimmon chocolate mousse with orange, a rolled persimmon slice, and dollops of what tasted like yuzu. As full as I was I was able to finish this all. It was creamy, rich, and balanced with citrus notes. And finally, the service ended with a mixed plate of petit fours which held up well the next day and were all very good -- a brownie, dulce de leche, macaron, chocolate chip cookie, and some sort of citrus gel. In all, I think the tasting menu was worth the price. I think chef did a great job balancing flavors and textures, plating beautifully, and staying true to ingredients while having fun experimenting. If my pho wasn't served cold, I didn't see some poor service, and the extra amuse bouche trio wasn't served I probably would've given this 5 stars. Maybe next time.

The listening bar concept paired with their state-of-the-art custom sound system makes the atmosphere feel immersive from the second you walk in. The music, lighting, and outstanding service all work together perfectly when you're trying to unwind and decompress after a long week. The lychee martini was smooth, refreshing, and extremely lychee forward. I really enjoyed how they garnished the drink with two whole lychees. I was in heaven and I can honestly say this was one of my favorite cocktails I've had in the city (Thanks for the recommendation Annabelle). Food-wise, everything felt elevated and pieced together beautifully on each plate. The truffle creamy miso soup was warm & comforting with just the right amount of depth and the Asian pear cucumber salad was perfect to cleanse the palate after the soup. The Hawaiian ono was another standout that absolutely delivered. That cilantro oil and the yuzu dance together well with the soft & silky ono. I also really enjoyed the scallop crudo, it also has cilantro oil but this time with ponzu foam. This combination was so good that I absolutely had no shame sipping the married liquid components on the plate between each bite of scallop. Lastly, the wagyu mochi gnocchi is unreal--rich, melt in your mouth mochi gnocchi, savory shrimp and tender wagyu, and this velvety sauce that's semi addicting. This surf-and-turf style dish with seafood and wagyu is where Yozora really flexes; every bite felt balanced, indulgent, and beautifully plated. (This particular evening the sauce on the mochi gnocchi was a touch spicier for me than the first time I visited but I enjoyed every last bite nonetheless). I went a little ham and didn't have room for dessert this time unfortunately. Next time Huge shoutout to my server Annabelle, who made the entire night seamless. My water never even got close to empty, her recommendations were spot on, and she somehow balanced taking care of the bar while still making her tables feel attended to. The rest of the staff even tag teamed service throughout the dining room which I always enjoy seeing. It says a lot about how well the staff and overall concept works together there. Symphony for the soul. Thank you again Annabelle and team for making the whole evening easy to enjoy and adding so much to the experience. Yozora absolutely lives up to the hype. We could talk comfortably at a normal volume, which already put this place ahead of a lot of spots on a weekend night. Service set the tone immediately. Our server, Mario, was excellent. Kind, professional, attentive without hovering, and his recommendations were spot on. On top of that, the entire staff signed an anniversary card for us, which was a genuinely thoughtful touch. The manager, whose name I unfortunately did not catch, stopped by our table, congratulated us, and treated us to a dessert and two glasses of champagne on the house. That kind of hospitality is rare and it mattered. We started with the deviled eggs. They were overfilled in the best way and topped with maple bacon that complemented them perfectly. We also ordered a bowl of clam chowder. It was not overly creamy, had small chunks of clam, and was well seasoned. All it needed was a little black pepper, which is an easy fix. For entrées, my wife ordered the redfish and I had the Maui steak. The redfish was fresh and cooked perfectly, not dry at all, finished with a light lemony butter sauce. The couscous was properly cooked and well seasoned, not bland, and the asparagus had a subtle grilled, almost barbecue-like flavor that worked really well. My Maui steak was a 16-ounce boneless ribeye in a tangy marinade with hints of garlic and pineapple. The balance was excellent. Tender, juicy, and cooked a true medium rare. It came with smashed potatoes that were creamy and smooth without being thick or dry. Exactly how they should be. Dessert sealed it. The carrot cake was outstanding. Warm, soft, moist, not overly sweet, with fine shreds of carrot and nuts throughout. Honestly, it is arguably the best carrot cake I have ever had. Overall, this was a great experience. Service was top-notch. The manager makes regular rounds to check on tables, which shows real leadership. There are cards at the front listing the manager, assistant manager, and chefs by name, which signals pride and accountability. The only downside is the interior lighting. It is slightly dim and takes a moment for your eyes to adjust. That said, the staff more than makes up for it with warmth and professionalism. Big thanks to the entire team, and congrats to Mario on his engagement. We will absolutely be back.
