    Hair on steak and eggs
    Bama W.

My husband and I waited a ridiculously long time for our breakfast. The waitress had failed to put our order in. First of all the hostess didn't greet us. But here's the kicker the food had hair in it when I received it. Gross!!!! The waitress got the manager involved and he comped everything. At that point I simply requested white toast and sausage because we wanted to leave soon. The waitress brought the new order minus the sausage...what the what? I just laughed. What a cluster mess up!!!! The waitress apologized profusely. I then just declined the sausage, ate the toast then politely left. This restaurant really needs to step up their game. The waitress cared but the manager didn't.

Ordered 2 egg breakfast, with breakfast potatoes. Got hash browns.

Ordered breakfast potatoes and got hash browns, they did not inform me they were out until after it was delivered. Food was nice and hot and tasted great.

Well came for dinner and the waiters seemed to be a little bit of a hot mess lol they were going to random tables and we had two waiters approach us but the sandwich was pretty good and nothing wrong with the food but they need a little more organization that's all but food was good

    Happy hour

The food was good, but the staff seemed to be a little unorganized and running all over the place.

Nice, but slow waitress. Had to send eggs back. Ham is like leather. Bathroom smells like someone died.

Every time I come here I have great service. I used to be able to eat 6 plates of the all you can eat pancakes back in the day.

Oh boy!! Before considering this establishment for breakfast I looked at the reviews. One review…read moresaid it was "hearty breakfast and lunch fare in a vintage diner with nostalgic decor". Said review could not be further from reality! Terry's is old and rundown, furniture is even older and on its last leg of life. Our food took quite some time to get to us after ordering but oddly enough this place was packed. Despite the old building and furniture we were very surprised to see how busy it was. It was a good mix of young and old but mostly senior age patrons. It felt like I had walked into my widowed 80 year old "Aunt Mary's" house. I don't know if I would recommend this place. The food was mediocre. Menu options were good and I rarely see meatloaf as a breakfast option so that's what I ordered. I kept an open mind when ordering. Waffle was over cooked and hard to eat so we left most of it. Polish sausage was over cooked and hard to chew so hubby didn't eat it all. Meat loaf was ok. Hashbrowns were pleasantly cooked to order. And my eggs were cooked to order. I will say that our waitress was nice, pleasant and friendly enough. It appeared they had local regulars which gave this place an even more humble quaint feel. The coffee cup was small but they topped you off frequently so I did not mind the size of the cup! And bonus, they had french vanilla creamer. Price of menu items was great and the senior and kids menu was very affordable.

The bacon was thick cut and there were 4 slices. The eggs were cooked good. There was too much hash browns for me. All in all, it was a nice place to get a quick bite. Service was great with them wanting to fill my drink cup when I only drank a third of it. It was like an old school diner type decor.

To be sure, this restaurant is more expensive than most in Spokane. We spent the same amount for…read morehalf as much the night before (and got refined food) . However, Luna does offer a lot of things for this price. You have a pleasant neighborhood restaurant vibe, with friendly attentive service and excellent, healthy food sourced from good places. As with anything in Spokane, you will see folks in very casual attire, but this is also a place where you can dress up. When we went, there were several tables of women friends (all ages), many family groups (without young kids or with well-behaved kids), and older couples. I was in the mood for salmon and they did a great version. It should be though for just under $50. It was served with black rice (good) and roasted carrots (good) and a carrot puree (really good but not enough on the plate). My dining companion got the scallops, and they were even more expensive than the salmon. $48 for TWO scallops. Ok, they are large, and well-cooked, and came with a lovely vegetable mix and couscous, but that's a lot of $ for Spokane. We are from CA and that's even a shocker for us. Dessert: they had recently added a banana pudding, which was good. It replaced a chocolate dessert--and that was a bad move because there is no intense chocolate on the menu. We also tried the coconut cake with lemon curd. There was not enough curd; it was barely a tang. The cake itself was a little dry. It is served with house-made ice cream, which balances the dryness but the cake should be good on its own. Apparently, this is their most popular dessert. I am a chocolate-first person. I like coconut. I like good vanilla. I really like lemon curd and a sweet-sour pairing. For me, this item felll short.

Luna is one of the most hyped restaurants in Spokane, so I had high expectations for it. The space…read moreis absolutely instagrammable, and honestly every corner was really photo worthy. That's probably the highlight of the whole experience. I started with the Cheshire Cat mocktail, which was a bit oversweet for me. For main course, I had sea bass for $48 (pan-seared fish served with onion-potato gnocchi, charred asparagus, mushrooms, and asparagus coulis). It was decent, but the portion felt small for the price. Salmon rillette ended up being the best dish! It was rich, savoury, and delicious when paired with pickled onions (the bread was slightly burnt - I hated it). Ended the meal with a vanilla gelato dessert - just okay, not too wow. The restaurant was so packed and seemed understaffed, so service took forever. I left feeling a bit disappointed, especially after looking forward to it so much

I was in Spokane for a conference and stumbled upon Wooden City because it is on the Spokane "where…read moreto eat list". A deeper dive showed a good possibility of gluten free options, so I made the reservation. I was in town on a Monday, just after Hoopfest, but they were the kind of busy where a reservation should always be made I think. My table was ready and I sat in the bar at a high top table. I think I would choose "in the dining room" next time. My server was friendly and quick, as well as knowledgeable about gluten free options. There is even a separate menu that lays out the dishes that are already gf or could be made to be. Love this, always. I ordered the summer salad to start. It was amazing. Flavorful. Fresh. The mint wasn't overpowering, the watermelon was the perfect ripeness. It was so good. I would try to recreate it but it was done so well, and I know I couldn't hit that dressing in the same way. Get it while you can. For my main, I had ordered the scallops in my brain before I even arrived. The risotto was a little soupy, but the flavor was SO good. The corn came through and it went so well with the scallops. The tomatoes were quite over salted, but as long as I didn't eat them alone, it was alright. The scallops were perfectly cooked and I felt like the portion was appropriately sized for the dish, even though there were only 4. My server really made the experience enjoyable. The atmosphere was busy but the booths looked like they could be cozy. The prices were on the higher end. But for a special occasion, it was worth it. I really wished I'd had room for dessert. I will surely go back the next time I am in town.

First off, I was looking for an authentic Napoli style pizza. Like a fresh red sauce from crushed tomatoes and a beautiful chewy, pillowy, yet charred crust. The verdict: Wooden City is the winner! The crust is really really good! The sauce is a bright beautiful tomato sauce that looks like crushed tomatoes however, the sauce was lacking flavor:( I would give this pizza a 3 out of 5. The crust is a 4 1/2 star but the sauce lacking in flavor..brought it down to a 3. Cute place, very pleasant friendly staff..way friendlier vibe than Barrelhouse. The boys are easy on the eyes for younger girls on the hunt! Lmao Don't bother with the Margherita pizza at Barrelhouse. Thank God I only paid $12 for the Margherita Monday deal of half off! The crust was horrible! Dominos has better crust! Costco pizza's had a better crust! The sauce has flavor, very garlicky like fresh garlicky but more of a paste with a load of oregano in it. The cheese didn't have that fresh taste I was hoping for. However, they are known for their Detroit pizza's which I haven't tried but if it's the same sauce, I would pass. Not saying it's bad but it's just not MY cup of tea whether it's for a Detroit style or any pizza. Now you don't have to guess which place has a better Margherita pizza. I wouldn't even pay $12 at Barrelhouse for a marg. Would I come back, yes, if I were in my 20's.. lol but since I'm older and the food is more important to me...no...:/ But hey, maybe their other pizza's are better! I can see a salty pepperoni being good!
