    Panini

I want to love this place! I've given it multiple chances. First time I went, my drink was incorrect. The 2nd time, I ordered an Italian soda and it was flat. No biggie- they corrected both times, but were quite rude as if I was an inconvenience to have my drink remade. Today. I ordered a panini. The price on the menu stated $11 but rang up $12. God forbid I mention there is a price discrepancy. They just didn't care! Very rude customer service! I mean, she literally tried to make me feel stupid for mentioning it. Below is my untoasted panini .... and it took 25 minutes!

This is a great place to meet up with friends or just stop in for a quick latte or bite to eat. A smattering of the usual breakfast fare can be found here and everything I have ordered has been very good quality. Bagels and other goodies can be found on the breakfast side and panini's etc for lunch. The staff are friendly and keep the place clean. There are many wood tables with chairs, a couple of couches, and some other softer seating to settle into. There are also several tables outside as well. This is a nice stop for Whitworh students and a good place for families to meet up with their kids that are going to school there. Not too many, if any, outlets for computers. So bring a freshly charged battery if you're going to do some studying. Pricing is on the higher side where a bagel sammie and drink will set you back around $11. Same goes for the panini.

When touring Whitworth, I stopped with a friend at this coffee shop for a quick lunch. The BLT panini was delicious and my Americano was also very good. The welcoming attitudes of the staff added positively to the cozy atmosphere, and the decor made it a unique experience. The service was slower, so it took awhile for us to receive our orders and the soup, while flavorful, was mostly broth. Overall though, I would likely return again if I'm in the area because of the originality of the shop and the reasonable quality and pricing of the coffee.

Such a cute little cafe! I stopped in for a cup of coffee and to sit and read a few chapters of my book. The barista was super friendly and efficient, making sure my coffee was exactly as I wanted it. The ambiance in the cafe is super cozy with Edison lights on the ceiling. This would be a great place to meet a friend for coffee or just hang out by yourself and read a book like I did. I wish I had discovered this café sooner! I'll definitely be back!

No one asked if we'd made a reservation. I eventually asked a server at the bar if we should seat ourselves because we'd been standing there for so long. No, someone will help you soon. A host walked up. He was eating something. When he got to the host stand, he finished his food, took a big drink and wiped his hands before making eye contact with us. He said the wait would be 15 minutes. We sat down in the lobby. We were seated at a community table. The couple to our right finished their meal, paid the bill and left. Their seats were bussed. This all happened before our server greeted us. We ordered coffee. We waited. And waited. I scanned the restaurant for our server - or any server- to ask about our drinks and place our food order. No one else approached the table. Still no coffee. It had been 30 minutes. We decided to leave. The host realized we were leaving. He offered to find our server, pay for our meal, seat us somewhere else. He practically chased us out of the restaurant. I appreciated the sentiment but it was too little, too late and my teenage daughter was super uncomfortable with his approach. I was excited to eat at House of Brunch. I won't be back.

The inside as shown in my picture is very charming and old timey. Allow time to wait for a table unless you are just one or two like I was and able to grab a seat at the bar. I was able to sit immediately. The staff is very amiable and the hostess made the recommendation that I try the Caprese Benedict, which had fried tomatoes in place of bread, fresh basil and blood orange balsamic drizzle. They offer the option of one or two Benedict, which is nice if you aren't super hungry. They also give the option to smother the hashbrowns and cheese, which I obviously opted into. The menu is absolutely massive though, so if Benedict's or even breakfast aren't your jam, you should be able to find something that suits your fancy. Also worth noting that they offer a very wide variety of gourmet flavors of house-made juices (7 or 8) for mimosas, like honeydew melon mint which I tried as a soda with soda water since I was driving.

That's probably the highlight of the whole experience. I started with the Cheshire Cat mocktail, which was a bit oversweet for me. For main course, I had sea bass for $48 (pan-seared fish served with onion-potato gnocchi, charred asparagus, mushrooms, and asparagus coulis). It was decent, but the portion felt small for the price. Salmon rillette ended up being the best dish! It was rich, savoury, and delicious when paired with pickled onions (the bread was slightly burnt - I hated it). Ended the meal with a vanilla gelato dessert - just okay, not too wow. The restaurant was so packed and seemed understaffed, so service took forever. I left feeling a bit disappointed, especially after looking forward to it so much
