Me and my boyfriend ordered from this IHOP this morning and we got the have it all breakfast. He got Tres leches pancakes and I got the New York cheesecake, pancake substitutes. My order was the classic breakfast combo. And we also got another breakfast con go with toast with no pancakes. It was absolutely disgusting. Usually it's very good in store and they never disappoint, but whenever you order out it always disappoints the portions were super small compared to the ones you get in store. The food was cold, and they didn't even give the toppings to my New York cheesecake pancakes. Everything tasted like it was premade and two days old. Compared to whenever you are in the store and it taste very fresh. Also, we got the hot cocoa and my boyfriend poured his out because it tasted very chalky and he looked at the bottom of it and this was at the bottom absolutely disgusting. I recommend going inside and eating because the people are very nice and food is usually very fresh, but DO NOT order to go!!!! read more

The better question here is what else could they possibly screw up? We get there and I ordered crates to come back out. They don't have any crates. Then I asked for waffle they don't have waffles. I ended up getting pancakes. I couldn't eat them because they had such a file taste to them and my husband ordered bacon and looked to sell. Someone walked all over it then he ordered sausage instead, and there was two pieces of shrimp it up daily sausage I've been sitting in the fridge to be microwaved. It was just such a horrible situation. They ran out of Scott and crew. It was so dark. They didn't even look like they were open. I guess the lights were low so you couldn't see the food needless to say we'll never be back! My husband and I made a bet within six months they're closed in fact from the street. They look closed. Went yesterday for breakfast and never got any food. We were seated around noon. Waitress was sweet. Took our order pretty quickly. We received our orange juices shortly after. We started looking around and noticed the kitchen seemed to have a lot of confusion. Orders were sitting at the window and not picked up or seemed confused about who it belonged to. We noticed people getting their food who came in 30 minutes after us. We asked about it and she said it should be coming out soon. Another 30 minutes went by and she came back and apologized. She said there's just so many tickets today. I don't know when it'll come out. And we just asked for the check for our drinks because we were there a little over an hour at that point. It also didn't help that towards the end we heard people in the kitchen yelling stop cross contaminating. That made me also just not want to eat there. Bathroom was dirty. The manager in charge was very loud, dressed in street clothes R tied on her head, using cursive language why you got customers in the building complaining about the customers is rude. the service was lousy, the food was cold. My cousins and I came here for breakfast one morning, while on a family trip to SC. We were staying across the street at one of the hotels and wanted something different from the mundane dialy breakfast buffet and boxed eggs. There were five of us in total, three adults and two kiddos. They sat us immediately upon entering which was great we didn't have a long wait despite there being a lot of diners. Our server was awesome and not just because she shared my daughter's name, Dani. She was very sweet and attentive, especially to the children. Considering that we weren't visiting under the best circumstances, she offered a nice reprieve from the somber mood. It had been a long time since I've had IHOP but I did enjoy my pancake sandos. They were essentially, four pancakes, made into two sandwiches, with eggs, cheese and turkey sausages. A little drizzle of syrup made the meal perfect. read more

This place looks deserted. I wandered around for 15 minutes saying "hello" but no one was home. The register was open and the fire alarm door was propped open. Sumter has to be one of the worst cultures of people I've seen when it comes to work ethic. The store is dirty. Who knows if the food is good because you can't get assistance. The employees are probably out back smoking or playing on tiktok. Don't come here ever. Fire the employees and start over. read more

Terrible service. Had to wait an hour before getting our food, which arrived cold. DM was there and did nothing to rectify the problem.

The ihop location in Sumter sc does not pay employees. And customers wonder why customer service and the food is trash. Management isn't ever on time but expect employees to be on time. I've been waiting two weeks for my checks when ihop gets paid every week. As of October 24,2023 I am now missing three checks. I've called the labor board and they can't get in contact with management. I've just called ihop to see if my check was there and management isn't there. Truthfully this ihop should be shutdown cause it has no organization or direction to make the company better. The sign on the door says they're open 24 seven, they are not open 24 seven. I will never set foot in an IHOP again. This is the fourth or fifth time I've tried to go to this IHOP at between 4 and 6 AM and they are closed. IHOP needs to fix the sign to say what their actual hours are. The server said they close the kitchen at 4 AM and don't open until they're ready. If you're trying to plan a trip and are planning to eat at a specific time at a specific place, do not plan on going to this IHOP. I do not recommend trying to eat here. at this point I'm done with them lol. I had a complaint about them messing up my food, they told me I can't get a remake. Corporate AND the GM Chris called me and said I could get the remake and I just called and they just told me no again. at this point it isn't even about the food, it's the unprofessionalism and miscommunication. Zack was our server and he was very outgoing and polite. He had a vibe that really made dinner fun! Very good energy. The tables are a tad sticky, but I mean, all you can eat pancakes is going on so that's pretty much expected. Gotta give props where they're due and this location gets a high five from me.I was up in Sumpter riding out hurricane Mathew over the weekend. In the aftermath of Saturday morning, most places were closed down and we lost power at our hotel. Some businesses were closed up for the storm and others were doing their best to operate under the conditions... some without even having power. Needless to say, things were hectic and everyone was looking for food and provisions. Was the food anything special... no, it was IHOP. I knew exactly what to expect. What surprised me was that even though we got in fairly early and they got so busy that they had to stop seating tables to let the kitchen catch up, they all powered through and did so with a smile on their faces. The service is absolutely terrible. I've been twice to give them a chance. The food orders are ALWAYS wrong. They take hours to give you food that isn't even correct and hours to find a solution. They don't even try to make up for your wasted time and money. The WORST IHOP I've ever been to. The manager ignored our table while sitting to talk to someone she knew for over 20 minutes. Heard her yelling at her staff from our tables and we were seated right by the doors to leave. Not professional at all. I have been to and reviewed other IHOP restaurants and have found them mostly consistent as far as the food goes. The staff was pleasant and helpful and the server (I forgot her name, sorry nice lady!) attentive. The only thing I can say was a downer was another patron at the next table. No matter what, she was not happy. Then she would turn to whoever would listen and make comments. I think they ended up comping her meal which I think was her real goal. I gave a bigger tip to the server for having to suffer through that! But other than that, which was no fault of the restaurant, it was a pleasant eating experience. read more

Been to this place twice and each time service was terrible. There was no sense of urgency and we had to wait a long time for someone to take our orders, refill our drinks and bring the check. Been going there on Sunday morning w/my brother for a year or so and ordering the 2x2x2. Asked the difference between the regular & the senior and was told there was none and both offered the all you can eat pancakes. 'Bout a month ago the waitress told me that all you can eat pancakes weren't included with the Sr. version and I would have to pay extra. The next time, and my last visit, I ordered the regular 2x2x2 but was told that as of 4/24 they no longer offered all you can eat pancakes on weekends. I asked for a manager and was told one wasn't present. We left. I later called corporate and they said someone would call me. Never happened. Not going back. They say presentation is everything and while, sure, that's not to necessarily be expected at an IHOP, the breakfast I had left much to be expected. The scrambled eggs looked like a messy slop of yellow eggs from back in your grade school days topped with a spoon full of cheap by-the-gallon salsa... coupled with that lovely picture the hash browns were burnt and so hard you couldn't even cut through them to eat without a knife. Nevertheless I made my way through a few bites and decided that this just wasn't going to cut it for breakfast and gave up. Shortly thereafter I noticed a rumbling in my stomach... yep, something in that California scramble was bad. The silver lining? Service was excellent and they staff was very attentive to what seemed to be every customers needs. I don't plan to return anytime soon. read more
