IHOP is such a staple of the Landstown Commons community, and I'm genuinely glad to see this location thriving. Yes, it's a chain. Yes, it's in a shopping center with convenient parking. But sometimes it's not about the uniqueness of the restaurant, it's about the memories you make there. I wish the one close to where I live got this understanding. This is the kind of place my friends and I would frequent precovid when we were working three jobs, like Central Perk in Friends or MacLaren's in How I Met Your Mother. It was a weekly spot to grab a meal, catch up, and just spend time together. Add consistently good food and the fact that breakfast for dinner is always a good idea, and you have a winning combination. The real question is: Can you go back to a place that holds so many memories and still have it live up to them? Food was fine and what I expected. It was busy, which I understood--but Reese was the rudest server I've seen. She had about 4 tables (one already checked out) and still stayed in the corner messing with receipts and talking with her table which were her friends. And this is while her coworkers struggled with a party of 30-50 kids. She said she was overstimulated, which I get, but it's not right to disappear while others are picking up your slack. One server looked like she had a busted knee and was still doing more, and another server handling that big group was even helping with Reese's tables. I'm not a huge fan of IHOP unless it's breakfast food. I stepped out of my comfort zone and got the country fried steak with mashed potatoes and broccoli. It was a good price, but I wasn't thrilled at all. It was very nursing home/hospital kinda food. Very bland and meh!!! The broccoli tasted like crunchy air and the potatoes were to loose. I got a side of Mac, but the cheese didn't show up to the party. It was literally Kraft macaroni and cheese... ugh.. Super dry for sure!! My sister got the fish and chips and it tasted like Gordon's in the yellow box from the frozen section. The burger my nephew got did looked good. I also enjoyed the blue raspberry lemonade they had. We were able to get a table right away. Our server Jennifer was awesome!! She was very attentive and kept out drinks refilled. She also had a good sense of humor!! Came early Sunday morning to beat the church crowd and general breakfast fanatics. With cases still high and my small kids wanting to have some normalcy with a 'restaurant', we did just that by coming around 830am. I asked to be seated away from others and general traffic and they kindly obliged. Our waitress was attentive at first but slowly started forgetting about us. Especially at the end. I had a hot cocoa on this chilly morning and my daughter a white milk. I ordered the sirloin tips and eggs, and my daughter a Jr. Winter Wonderland. My waitress indicated the tips come medium-well which is perfect. They came well done with raw onions on top. I assumed the onions would have been slightly caramelized and they were absolutely not. The flavor wasn't there either. The eggs and hash brown were good though, just needed a little pepper. My daughter enjoyed her egg and the bacon was just okay. She ate half her pancake but she said it was good and that she was full, so I'm happy there. After we all finished (a group of 6), we waited 15 minutes for her to drop of checks. We didn't see her in that time to even flag her down. When she did drop off the checks, she said that she'd take payment at our table instead of paying up front. More convenient and that was nice. I had been here a few months ago with someone and had a decent breakfast burrito. Decided to switch it up today and had one of the best omelettes ever! Service was a nice waitress named Mary. She wasn't the fastest, but she was awesome. She even heated up my side of salsa, for my omelette. I did a make my own omelette and it was amazing!! Came out in good time too! It was starting to really fill up inside when I was getting my food, so I beat the Sunday morning rush. The pictures hardly do justice to this omelette. I even asked for my compliments to be sent to the chef. Lots of spinach, mushrooms, ham and tomato. No cheese for me. But I like omelettes with salsa to not let it get too dry. Fruit cup was so-so and the creamer selection was pretty crappy. The wall on the side of my booth was colored on and some of the wallpaper was peeling. The food is always pretty on point, but the service is very spotty. Usually I never have issues, but today my server decides to give me attitude because I was the one in the right and she didn't know. I almost always come on thursdays to take advantage of the 50% off entrees for students, and have come several times on tuesdays, where it's a buy one get one free entree but you have to get a drink that's not water. Knowing this, it being a Thursday, the server tried to tell me I needed a drink to get the 50% and I corrected her, but she instantly gave me attitude and called the manager, only for me to reiterate that I knew that because I come often. She scoffed and said "well I didn't know." How do you work here and not know your own deals when they're on a board as soon as you walk in??? I met a friend here on a Wednesday morning. It's at the end of the Landstown Commons shopping center so there is plenty of parking. They weren't busy so we were able to grab a booth immediately. Michaela, our server, was nice enough and did a great job. I ordered the combination breakfast with eggs, links, potatoes, and lemon ricotta blueberry crepes. So what I'd say here is just because it's a national chain doesn't make it a bad restaurant. It can happen that way, but I think it has a lot to do with who's running the particular restaurant location and who they hire and how they train. This particular IHOP location is killing it. I can come and get a seat just about anytime, they clearly work hard to make the most efficient use of their space and staff without seeming to rush anyone to leave. . 8/30/20 Jody our server was on point in every way possible. The food came out at a respectable time. The food was good. We were spaced out because of the Coronavirus outbreak, but people were still in good spirits. I have never seen so many people rocking tattoos like I have today in one restaurant. I have visited this location around four to five times. They just recently reopened with a remodel. So I decided today was a good day to check them out since I was in the area with my son and two friends. Previous visits were not reviewed, but probably came in around 3 star. Today's visit on memorial day had them completely mobbed. The dining room was packed out and I was actually surprised there was not a wait. Our server was obviously overburdened but was cheerful throughout the service, smiled and did the best that she could. The remodel has carpet taken up and a laminate floor replacing it. The walls have been repainted. I saw no other evidence of anything else done. From what I could see the dining room was kept orderly and clean. The pancakes at best were lukewarm, but edible. Our server never came back to check on us however did provide drink refills late in the service. The wait for drinks was approximately 20 minutes. The wait for food was over 45 minutes. The wait to get a check was another 20 minutes adding a total time over over a hour and a half. At checkout I did discuss the length of the wait with the manager who apologized and took off my portion of the meal. Odd structure the way it's here at the end of the row of retail storefronts as opposed to a stand-alone but it seems to work okay. Plenty of parking in this end of Landstown Commons (very east end of it). Early on a Saturday morning, the crowd was much less than I expected with no wait for a table by the window. My server took my coffee order immediately and I was ready for my breakfast order by the time she returned. There really aren't any "inexpensive" meals at IHOP, which is one thing I noticed the last time I was at a Denny's with their 2-4-6-8 plates. It seems that nearly everything here is $7 and up, no matter what. I chose the make-your-own pancake combo, which despite the name, a professional cook is actually preparing the pancakes. I chose banana pancakes with two eggs poached, hash browns and sausage links. It arrived exactly as ordered a reasonable time later. Eggs were perfectly poached, nice warm yolks that split nicely on top of the has browns for a good breakfasty mess. Other than the price (which they don't set locally), it was a good meal. Stopped in here for breakfast before heading out of town. It was 8 or so in the morning and like two other tables being occupied when we arrived, so basically pretty empty. Our waitress came over promptly and got our drinks and took our order, but then that's when the problem began. It took FOREVER to get our breakfast. First of all, the place was not busy at all and secondly, breakfast doesn't take long to cook, but it was well over 30 minutes before we got our breakfast. Overall, this is your typical IHOP. There are quite a few of them here in the area. This is one of the ones where I have had better experiences than others, so this is generally the one I come to now when I go to IHOP. Quite a while ago, I went to the one on General Booth Blvd. and was unimpressed. This IHOP has been around for a few years now, though it's still one of the newer ones in the area. I've been in for breakfast and dinner. They have daily specials, so you should check those out as well. For dinner, I have taken advantage of the all you can eat shrimp special that they have on Fridays. Over these visits, the experience and food have been consistent, with no major issues to contest. As for seating, there is quite a bit of seating in this place. However, if you are not a fan of some of the smells, such as fish, etc., you may want to stay to the left side of the restaurant, farther away from the kitchen in the back if possible. Except for one of my first visits here, service has been great. On one of those initial visits, we were seated at a table, but there was nobody that came over to the table. We were about to get up since it was almost 10 minutes waiting at that point when Nicole came to our table for us. She was not the server assigned to the table we were seated at, but she took care of us all the way through. Ever since then, I always ask for her when I come in during the dinner hours (she usually works in the evenings). Restrooms here have always been clean and well maintained. If there is an issue, all you have to do is flip the switch by the door. I've never had to do that since they do a great job of upkeep in there. Overall, this is one of the better IHOP locations in the area based on my experiences elsewhere in the now distant past. It's located in the Landstown Commons Shopping Center, so you can also do a lot of shopping before and/or after eating. This is one IHOP that is worth checking out. read more

Sadly, I cannot comment on the food as no one was willing to take my order. I was greeted and seated quickly. The place was not crowded and there seemed to be plenty of staff. There were three young ladies standing behind the cash registers chatting and there were at least four or five staff milling about the dining floor. A major upgrade in the look and feel compared to all the other IHOPs. The staff? Absolutely pleasant and friendly. I'm sure they're friendly elsewhere but let's be real, no one is really friendly and happy to serve you at 2am. $3.99 all you can eat pancakes. Add in the eggs, hash browns, sausage, and bacon, or any mix, and it can go up as high as $8.99. Of course, I went all the way. Their pancakes? Real talk. They're damn good. Go to this location. Went in Sunday morning for breakfast after having gone to Denny's and not being served. I'll wait about 7 minutes, if they haven't taken at least my drink order, I'm out of there. So went IHOP, slipped and fell on some water. Made it to the table, hostess asked if I was ok, I replied yes, just embarrassed. Then a gentleman comes to the table, tells us he's the owner and he asked if I'm okay, I say yes, just embarrassed. He tells one of the bussers to wipe the floor and put up a caution sign, which he does. A server comes by and picks up the sign a few minutes later. The food was good, service was adequate. My wife and I are caregivers for an adult with disabilities, and he wants to go to IHOP every Friday. Not just any IHOP, the IHOP on Princess Anne Road. Haley and the rest of the waitstaff have the most patience with him, and they really do treat him like family. They remember his order, but still let's him take his time to order. First time: Came here for breakfast at 9:30 and it's crowded already! There were only 2 of us so we didn't wait and get seated right away. The second and the third time: I normally don't write for my other visits for a restaurant but I have to because the services are too different that the first time I came. Both servers are weird too. The server who served us during our second visit was busy on chatting with another table of customers(I think they know each other) and rarely check on us nor giving us the bill. My friend really needed a napkin but we didn't see her at all for about 15 mins. After we finished our meal we waited for another about 15 mins for her to bring us the bill. Although she apologized and told us she saw someone she knew so it took so long etc. Girl you are working, you and your friend or neighbor or whatever can meet up some other time or wait till you have no more customers who are waiting for your service, and chat as long as you want. We came at 10:40 am on a Wednesday, and we waited over 45 minutes for our food!! It was nothing too complicated that should have taken close to an hour. I had somewhere to be at 12 but you'd think getting here at 10:30, you'd be done in plenty of time. Absolutely ridiculous. Another server took my food to their table, so they had to remake my meal an hour later. The "compensation" I got was "I'm so sorry." Needless to say, I have not been back since. The service was terrible, and food was nothing special. Try a different ihop or go somewhere else because this is not worth your time or your $10! read more
