My family and I have always enjoyed coming to IHOP, and we've usually had great experiences. Unfortunately, this visit was very disappointing. From the moment we arrived around 9:40 pm on Sunday , the waitress she appeared to have very little energy and seemed uninterested in serving us. We waited about eight minutes just to receive our menus, even though the restaurant wasn't busy. After bringing our food, she never came back to check if we needed anything. We also had to wait a long time just to receive our check. The food was excellent, and we have no complaints about the kitchen. However, the service made the overall experience unpleasant. Families come here to enjoy a meal together, including children, and friendly, attentive service makes a big difference. A simple improvement would be for servers to check on tables more regularly, respond more quickly to guests, and communicate wait times clearly. I hope this feedback helps improve the customer experience for future guests. read more

Went to ihop for some pancakes , it took a minute to get a waitress they had a wave of people that were seated all at the same time time . Once we were seated the waitress was prompt and efficient. I had the sirloin steak tips with eggs and hash browns and two pancakes . Let me tell you it was good but the steak was over cooked for me . I did ask for medium so it would have a bit of pink in the middle . I was brought well done tips but they still were good in flavor . They had onions and mushrooms which I love. Ordered NY Cheesecake pancakes combo with sausage and hard scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese. When order was delivered, bacon was provided instead of sausage. Server was hard to find to have order corrected. When sausage links were finally provided they were cold, along with the eggs and hash browns. The server was not paying attention to the tables she was assigned to. A lot of small children were here and banging on their seats while talking at the top of their lungs all the time. read more

I called this morning to place a delivery order after having surgery yesterday and not being able to drive. I placed my order over the phone, and paid there as well. The person taking my order was having difficulty putting my card through until she wrote it down and then it went through letting me know it would be ready with 20-25 minutes. After waiting an hour I called to ask where my order was, and was told they don't deliver. After expressing my disappointment she passed me to the manager, Aberdeen, who explained I needed to go through a food app for delivery. He gave me the number to Food Scooter, but it didn't work. I called him back and let him know what happened. He placed me on hold while he called via his cell phone. While they had him on hold he explained what was happening and that he'd call me back. The next call I got was from Food Scooter retrieving my delivery info. She said she'd call Ihop back. The next thing that happened was that I got a knock at the door with my food. Thank you Aberdeen for being a quality manager, and for providing excellent customer service. I called him back and he explained to me that he felt bad, and want to ensure his customers are happy. Go to LaPlata instead. The Waldorf location is aNOT understaffed with upwards of5 servers on the floor; however, service was horribly slow. We were served lukewarm coffee, I ordered cheese con my scrambled eggs and didn't get it but the oddest food related issue was that the steak tips were sweetened with something. They should definitely warm in patrons in the menu description that the steak is sweetened so that informed decisions can be made. My other issue is that the restaurant was rather cold inside on a 50degree day. I had in a long sleeve tee and hoodie but needed to put my jacket on. If it weren't for my husband I would have left and went elsewhere rather than freezing for mediocre service/food. My daughter has celiacs and eating out is such a struggle. Especially for a kid who loved ihop and pancakes. I called up here this morning and asked if when making the gluten-friendly meal, they could take certain procedures. She said every time they get a GF order, they clean the cook top and cook with clean hands and tools. Now, since my daughter was excited for iHop, we decided to give it a try. 6 hours later, and she's still feeling fine. She ate two whole pancakes that if there was any contamination, she'd be feeling miserable. I want to say thank you to this location for making my daughter's day and making a momma be able to give her daughter the same meal as the rest of the family that I didn't cook! This is THE BEST I-Hop , anywhere!!!! I have been all around from Gaithersburg to Solomons-California Md. NONE of them can touch Waldorf Maryland. The hot cakes are STILL are the same size of the plate, fluffy and soooo hot. The food is on time and the service is impeccable. This is the best experience anyone can enjoy. The mananger is kind and very sincere in his presence. There are two waitress that have been there a very long time and they KNOW customer service! Thank you for such an enjoyable experience. This morning I'm up and out early to meet for a breakfast meeting. Today was a special on pancakes (.60 cent short stacks). The dining area was clean and service was very prompt. Our orders came out very quickly and all the food was hot and delicious. Great place for family and friends to eat breakfast, lunch or dinner. Great late night place (close at 12 weekdays and open 24 hours on the weekend). Bathrooms were pretty clean. Lots of parking. read more

I came here cause my son kept wanting pancakes and every time prior, I'm with my infant daughter and 5yo son and not once had I had a bad or so-so experience. This ihop is located in the center of Waldorf. This is our go to location. Even on their busiest day I can guarantee you will be seated promptly and the food comes out fast. We love it here! We have yet to experience a issues with customer services or our food. We were just there today for dinner, and again our waitress was amazing and the food was delicious. We have been to the La plata location and it was a slow day but they still managed to screw up our order and service was super slow. The Waldorf location is stellar. We've been here on busy days and on those days is all hands on deck. The manager stays on top of things and ensures prompt seating. No complaints to this location at all . FYI restaurant is always clean as well as bathrooms. Love it here! read more

I was only here for about 30 minutes this morning and this is as good as IHOP gets. Going a weekday morning is so refreshing--no lines, no waits, no talking over other people. I went alone as a start to my day today and I had good that was simple but good. My server Marc was great and had a smile on his face from the minute I walked in and long after I walked out (I'm sure). I got French toast and hash browns. I had hot chocolate alongside of it, but it was powdery and a bit too rich. I should've just gone with coffee. I really like this location. When all other IHOP locations are dumb packed on the weekend, this is my go to location for some serenity while eating my deliciously golden pancakes in peace. It is never too packed and the wait time is never longer than 15 minutes on any given day. The food is always consistent, the servers are always attentive, and my favorite, it is extremely clean! Thoroughly enjoyed my breakfast here the other day. I was on some greedy shit after a hard workout on top of a 10 mile bike ride. I had the Cinna-Stack french toast, single egg scrambled with American, side of bacon. Counterparts had the Western Omlette with added mushrooms, green pepper, and onion. Ihop is always a nostalgic meal but what makes it better during these unprecedented times is their care for cleanliness!.. they have the entire booth and table sprayed down with disinfected and wiped (most places just do the table), paper menus, and have you wait outside so there is no crowding in the lobby. Arrived about noonish on a Tuesday so IHOP wasn't crowded and there was no wait time. My waitress was pretty "enthusiastic", meaning, talked pretty loud for a pretty quiet atmosphere but I guess I can't complain since she got my drink and food order fairly quick. The only thing I did not care for was, I had a lot of bags with me and being that the place was empty, I was hoping she would sit me right in between two other diners. Not sure why hostesses do that but when you walk in and see a fairly empty place, you don't want to crowd everyone together. At least that's my take. I had to literally squeeze my bags and myself on this bench which I had to share with others. I had to keep excusing myself as to not hit the ladies on either side of me with my bags and purse. Anyhow, my order came out quickly and hot and my waitress checked on me quite frequently. The establishment was clean and noise level low. The service was good, food was good, my pancakes were cold, so I asked to have them heated, she bought me another super hot dish of them. Spoke to the manager and he seemed like he was on the ball. My husband and I go to this location frequently! Last Saturday we went around 9:30 am. We had a great waitress! ( I can't remember her name) she was Hispanic , about 20 or so....very nice and attentive! We had the spinach omelet and sirloin tips and eggs, ice tea and cold brew coffee with vanilla creamer added. I didn't care for the coffee but the food was fresh and hot! The IHOP in Waldorf, MD, is NOT a restaurant friendly to gluten-sensitive individuals. Staff seem to have zero awareness of what gluten is, where it can be found, and symptoms that patrons may endure if they are served meals with gluten after having identified themselves as gluten-sensitive. I let the server know I was gluten free and proceeded to order an omelette with "shell eggs" since the regular omelette has pancake batter added. An omelette with shell eggs is obviously just egg -- you see yellow and white irregularities and it has no bubbles. The first omelette served to me was of a consistent yellow color, thick, and with bubbles in the egg (like the addition of baking powder would do to a batter). I asked the server to verify with the kitchen that the omelette was made with shell eggs. Server brings me a second omelette about 15 minutes later and apologizes. Egg looks yellow and white like it does when shell eggs are used although it still seemed a bit fluffy. I ate the omelette after giving the kitchen the benefit of the doubt. Fifteen minutes after I paid and left I received confirmation that the omelette did indeed have some pancake batter mixed in because I became sick. All restaurants MUST educate their staff about food allergies. It is NOT acceptable to be sick because some ignoramus employee isn't careful about entering food allergies into the ordering system and/or the kitchen staff can't be bothered to pay attention to what they're cooking for people. Gluten allergies/intolerance are not a special snowflake affectation -- people can get very sick, have migraines, asthma attacks, etc. after eating prepared food that contains gluten. The restaurant has lost my confidence and I will not be eating here again. read more

Way better than the IHOP in clinton. (Reasons: atmosphere, food quality, coffee service, friendly manager). I ordered the southwest breakfast platter (I don't remember the name, but it came with home fries, scrambled eggs. Sliced avocado salsa, and tortilla.) It was only $10 and the quality was excellent. A similar meal can be purchased down the road at Silver Diner for at least $3 more... likely closer to $5 more. I will return soon to the Waldorf IHOP!!! read more

The coffee drink tasted like brown milk with tons of sugar, and the scrambled eggs were less than stellar to say the least. Before we finished eating, very very early in the morning (we walked in there on a pit stop on the way down to Jamestown, so it was barely after they opened, and therefore, not that many people in the restaurant), the waitress came around to drop the check on us, less than 5 minutes after we got our food.
