Worst service ever I waited 45 minutes to get my food wasn't even busy at all came at 11:20 pm and left at 12:50 am

Service was awful and so was the food. :-( Never been to a worse IHOP. Server was unfriendly, slow, angry looking and uninterested in taking care of us. My omelette was not hot and was clearly thrown together. I will NEVER return to this IHOP again. If I could give it no stars I would. read more

SLOWEST SERVICE EVER!!!! From the time we sat down, until the time our food arrived, it was at least 45 minutes, and then it came out in drips and drabs. Example: 3 meals were served out of 4. When the 4th arrived, five minutes later, it had 3 of 4 pancakes. The server told us she owed him a pancake. Then a side of bacon arrived. Then, a fruit cup. Then, the 4th pancake. And after everyone was done eating, the side of toast that never came with the eggs/bacon/hash browns. read more

This IHOP is in the middle of down-town Wheaton. It is one of the smallest IHOP restaurants out there and accordingly it's a bit cramped. However we've been here multiple times and staff has always been friendly and helpful. With the small (tiny!) kitchen and the 24 hour nature of the restaurant food can sometimes take a little while to come out. They do pickup and delivery through Grubhub and possibly UberEats? Food is standard IHOP fare. read more

To be honest, this is the worst IHOP I've ever been to. The food isn't bad, I'll give credit for that. The customer service here was really bad. This one time, me and my family went here and there was a server who was acting like they were pissed off or something. She threw the utensils and dropped the coffee cup and messed up our table. So, we called the manager to discuss her problem. And she said what a bitch would say "Oh, I'm sorry for everything.". It was ridiculous. She didn't serve us well either. What an imbecile. I lived within 2 blocks of this IHOP for several months in the latter part of 2009 and this place was like a second home. Sure, the building is old and it is one of the smaller floorplan restaurants, but every time I had a minimum good experience. The servers I always had were students (except on weekend mornings) and they all really worked hard. In fact, I could sometimes hardly keep myself from giving them exceptionally good tips. The food was always on par with other IHOP locations. It probably could've been better, but so could the food at most IHOP locations. I have many fond memories of this place and am even a little surprised to see some of the other reviews for this location because it doesn't reflect the experiences I had. Though a disclaimer, I usually went late in the evenings, probably only went once during a peak period. So those are times that you may want to steer clear, if you want something quick during a peak period, walk up University about 2 blocks and go to Nick's Diner. Much better for that. read more

This was our second time here. They had no butter for the toast or pancakes and dont bother to tell u till they brought. Delancy just brought us our check didnt ask if we wanted any refills . The crepes didnt taste like crepes. They came back said they had butter and asked if we wanted any after our pancakes were already cold. The place is so busy dont know why. The service is bad and they just want to get u in and out. They need a better breakfast place around here. This is not it. Bad service. Delancy was nice but really didnt see her much after that. Standard IHOP, nothing to exclaim in joy about but not terrible. Some cleanliness issues and it is a cramped location as well with terrible parking. If you need a IHOP fix this location is acceptable. read more

The service is extremely poor at this location. We arrived at 9:30, places our orders by 9:35 and by 10:15 we were still waiting for our food. What makes matters worse is that the customers next to us, who arrived at 9:50, had their food by 10:10. Once our order came out my scramble eggs looked like a puddle of soggy colorless eggs. Thy didn't have cheese, as i initially requested, and the toast was also a soggy mess. My wife order banana pancakes, she got regular pancakes with bananas on top (something my 14 yr old could put together). When I complained they didn't even bother replacing my entire order. They took my plate and just added some shredded cheese on top (NOT scramble eggs with cheese IN them). The waiter who claimed he was the manager didn't make an effort to check in on us or keep us updated. Poor management coincides with the poor service. I've been going to this IHOP since I can remember. It's one of the few places in the area with its own parking lot which is a plus. This was the go to place after hitting the nightlife in DC years back. Now I mostly go with my family and enjoy it thoroughly. The service is great and there is always a manager on hand making sure things are going smoothly. The place can get crowded on Sunday's but that just tells you that there's something there that people want. The place has recently been renovated and looks great. read more

Worst service I've received at a restaurant by far! I've been to this location many times because it's one of the only places that's open late and I've never gotten bad service before. This time around we went to iHop after the movies because I was starving. When we got there we were seated very quickly and given the menus, we decided what we wanted pretty fast because we've been there so many times. Thirty minutes pass and no waiter has helped us or even looked at us. Three other groups are seated and served drinks, a waiter still hasn't even looked at us. I decided to call one of the waiters attention and she tells us some other guy will come and get our order. After 5 minutes she comes back with an attitude and tells us she'll take our order for the other waiter, we give her our order and walks away with the worst attitude. Even after all this we were still willing to give them another chance because we were so hungry. One WHOLE hour passes and still no drinks or food, the waiters keep walking past us and serving other tables but ignore us. We finally decided to get up and leave after being ignored by the white guy that was supposed to be our waiter. When we're walking out we see our plates were ready on the counter, just never brought to us. I would give them 0 stars but Yelp is to kind so I have to put 1. Very disappointed and never coming back to this location, Rockville has much better service. read more

Alex was my server and he was very attentive as well as polite. He took my order, brought the fresh hot coffee and it was a picker upper. He later brought the breakfast sampler, the way I wanted it, plus Cholula hot sauce! Run of the mill ihop. Parking is limited, the raid some parking behind restaurant. Food took longer then usual to arrive. Quality was good. Very busy on a Saturday morning at 9am. I like the fact they have low calorie options along side high calorie off the chart items. This means that everyone has a choice. Bathroom was clean. I haven't been to this Ihop in about 20 years. It was just as tiny as I remembered, but surprisingly our food and service were excellent. I switched out the standard hashbrowns for home fries. Some body in that kitchen can cook!! The pancakes were perfect and we also tried the new gingerbread cocoa. ..yum. The only reason I gave it a 4 was because it was packed. Honestly my worst restaurant experience ever. I'm eating my spicy chicken sandwich and a roach crawls out and onto my plate. A ROACH!!! Worst Ihop I have ever been too; I was asked "how many people" by 4 different employees. Than we were placed in the back of the restaurant, and we're not given a high chair even though I had a 1 year old child in my arms.  We were not given any menus when we were seated, we ended up waiting 5 minutes for the high chair and menus before walking out of the restaurant. Very slow service. I called in a order for pick up knowing it's quicker then waiting to get seated.(at least that's what I tougher) I got there 15mins later for 3eggs and 3pancakes. And they said I had to wait for the person who takes the phone orders. My food was sitting there in their takeout station. I asked a couple times if they can check on my order. Another 10mins later she finally gets off the phone and grab the bag I been staring at since I walked in. They either need a more efficient way to get the bill to the register or hirer another person to take the orders from one station to another station. Or just have the person who does the takeout orders be next to the cash register. Anything is faster than this. read more

HORRIBLE!!! I ordered a chicken Ceasar salad and I was handed a container with lettuce and chicken. Seriously!? Everyone knows a Ceasar means Parmesan cheese and croutons. It's the easiest salad you can make! Yet the kitchen staff thought it was OK to put chicken on top of dry lettuce. It's unacceptable. I did not notice until I got all the way back to work and I wasn't going back. I want a full refund and I don't want a 'FREE' salad. I'm never coming back. It's ridiculous. I ordered from here about 3 months ago, paid extra for bacon, yet there was NO bacon! I don't even know why I bothered coming back, but it's close to my job so I decided to give this IHOP another chance. I mean I was only getting a Ceasar, they can't possibly mess that up right? One of the worst experiences on mothers day, it was me, my daughters, my sister, and my nieces and nephews, they were missing forks in the rolled up utensils, my sisters cups was dirty, the server Silvia was poorly mannered, my niece ordered food and it wasn't to her liking and the server and the manager Elan stated she still had to eat it and if she ordered something else we would have to pay for both meals, by the way her food she didn't like wasn't even halfway eatin, also my daughter had order the strawberry pancake meals and they brought out a piece of bacon and mixed fruit which had only honey dew melon that was hard as hell, the server was slamming the plates down on the table. read more

This location would be better off closing! WORST experience in my entire dining history. Words of advice for our server Sharon: if you lack proper social etiquette remove yourself from the hospitality industry, why slowly kill yourself if you hate your job??? Anyways, it started off rocky so that should've foreshadowed the horrible service to come. Took her 10 mins just to greet us and start us off with beverages...very dull lady. My mom and I ordered waters with lemon...took another 10 mins just for WATER and what do you know? Forgot the lemon. We place our orders but I couldn't decide so I ask Sharon for suggestions on what's good. More specifically I asked about the Chicken and Waffles and of course being the extremely helpful, cheerful and suggestive server she was she replies, "It's good." So I just end up going with my gut feeling and order the Chicken and Waffles. 20 minutes go past and we start to notice other parties being seated and tables who came after us receiving their food! WTH! 30 mins we ask Sharon about the status of our food and of course she blames the kitchen for being behind...mind you everyone else in her section is getting their food. 45 mins still no food so we ask her ONCE again and she still continues to blame the kitchen. My mother tells her to not even bring the food if it's cold cause we had a feeling it had just been sitting in the window. A minute later she walks past and slides only my chicken and waffles onto our table without my eggs and bacon and without my mother's food! And what do you know? Waffles were cold and inedible, chicken tenders were a grossly ashy color as if they had been fried in day old grease. Sharon, server of the year doesn't even care and abruptly walks off! Immediately we ask one of the bussers for a manager and he couldn't even complete that simple task, so we grab our stuff so my mom can just pay for the cappuccino she got. They tell us to not even worry about the coffee...Fine time to attempt to display some customer service AS WERE LEAVING! This place is sorry!
