I was really looking forward to trying Milk & Honey at the Silver Spring location since it keeps coming up as a top brunch spot. Unfortunately, my very first interaction with the restaurant completely turned me off. I called on **02/12/2026** because I couldn't make a reservation online and wanted clarification. The man who answered said the Silver Spring location is "first come, first serve" and does not take reservations. When I tried to ask a follow-up question, I was told he was on another line -- and then he abruptly hung up. If reservations aren't accepted, I'm not sure why a potential guest would be rushed off the phone instead of being welcomed or given basic information. First impressions matter, and this experience felt dismissive and unnecessarily rude. Because of this interaction alone, I've decided not to visit this location. I hope management takes customer service more seriously, especially for people reaching out for the first time. read more

I decided to meet my sister for an early dinner and after doing some quick research we settled on Milk & Honey. Upon entering we were greater nicely by the waiter and decided to sit at the bar. They had a football game playing. The setting was classy but casual. I ordered the chicken wings and they were some of the best wings I've had. The honey adds a nice sweetness to the salty fried batter. I also ordered the catfish and grits and it was amazing. Last I ordered sweet tea which was actually sweet but not overly so. Overall I had a great experience and would recommend anyone to visit and try their food. As for the food, the chicken and biscoff waffles were delicious. The chicken arrived fresh and was tasty. I had the award winning shrimp and grits which was good, but I wouldn't declare it award winning. The grits arrive with a cream based Creole sauce, but the sauce to grits ratio was incredibly off. The grits sopped up most of the sauce and when I asked for additional sauce, it was an upcharge. I gladly paid more because otherwise I would have been eating bland grits on its own. So, we came here Sunday afternoon after taking two Ls with trying to find a brunch spot that didn't have an excessive wait time and let's just say that the decision to come here did not disappoint #Milk&HoneyforTHEwin! First, let's start off with two nice to knows. The first is that this location has free parking that is proportionate to the size of the establishment. Secondly, this Milk & Honey is a little smaller than other locations, so, big/bigger parties may be a challenge to accommodate. On to the food. Let's just say, this location has made me believe that every Milk & Honey is truly NOT the same. Prior to coming here, I was a STRONG believer that Milk & Honey was overhyped. But, the food here has led me to understand what others taste when they recommend Milk & Honey. The first dish that I sampled was the chicken and biscuits and they were perfect! The biscuits were fluffy and the chicken was fried and seasoned well. This is definitely a dish I will try again (at this location). Then to the sampling of the catfish. The fried catfish had the perfect amount of seasoning and crunch, so definitely a win there. Then there was the Berry and Cream French toast which gave that sweetness we desired without adding honey/syrup. Lastly, the dish that I ordered was the Award Winning Shrimp and Grits. The portion size of this dish is massive! This can definitely be one dish that serves multiple meals, if you aren't greedy (like me) lol. The Shrimp and Grits were good, however, I would have enjoyed it more with more of that delicious sauce (which I requested and added after) and more pieces of shrimp (which added to the flavoring of the dish). You can tell this GM and his business partner are truly invested in this location. Our food was so good (got the shrimp&grits, hubby got the French toast). Brandon worked like he was three people instead of one. His customer service is amazing. When we got there, the place was already pretty packed and then a group of six people came in. I don't know how he kept everyone orders and drinks correct but he did. And let's not talk about him also answering the phone at the same time. And the people who had call in orders (ensuring they got their orders when they walked in). This used to be my favorite Milk & Honey location in the DMV, I would go out of my way to visit, but over the past year, there's been a noticeable decline that seems tied to changes in management. Milk and Honey Express is a small offshoot of the chain/brand. The location is obscure but not to be missed. We got there early and were able to miss the Sunday brunch crowd. The place is small with bar seating and a couple of tables. The menu had great offerings. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. We had the shrimp and grits which were great; Tangy and savory but minimal heat/spice which was perfect for me. The French toast was amazing with vanilla and butter flavor so we didn't need to add butter, just syrup. We also had a traditional and the bacon was cooked to perfection. The Toast is hardy and tasty as were the potatoes. This was well worth the drive and price! I highly recommend and we will return. Oh and they do have silverware if you ask. read more

Started off with a mimosa and a French Quarter cooler. The mimosa was light and tasty. The French Quarter cooler was ok. Too much midori but nice amount of booze. I didn't feel cheated. Ordered the biscuits as appetizers because we waited so long but they came out with our meal. They need better timing on food. However the biscuits were delicious!!! And the honey butter drizzled on top was fantastic. I'd buy these again and take them home. Entrees were nice portions and tasty. Grits could have been stiffer for me but they were nicely seasoned and good portion of seasoned shrimp and gravy. The rum chatta french toast was tasty. The fruit was a nice touch. There weren't enough servers for a Saturday at 11:30. Only one person working the restaurant & cash register. This caused a back up. The layout is a little confusing there is a machine you can order through or you can sit and wait to have the server come to you to order. There's limited seating and most of it is bar seating (chairs have no backs). All food comes with plastic silverware. All in all it was a cheap breakfast but nothing that would make me go back.
