I would honestly just grab snacks at the gas station, or even just boiling a leather boot. Would be quicker and more pleasant.

Fast service and the food was exactly as expected. Geneva was a great waitress! Whatever problems they had seem to be fixed.

We opted to try the deviled egg appetizer... it was ok, nothing earth shattering to bring you back & a bit of salt helped. We convinced ourselves to try the buffet ~ although we never get our moneys worth out of the single plate we are able to eat. Chicken, mashed potatoes and carrots were great. The ribs were smoked and no sauce ~ maybe there was some to add and I didn't see them. I got shrimp from the cold salad area & it was way too over cooked. Overall, we would go again, but we would try somewhere else ~ looking for the wow factor. The waitress had it though ~ she was great!

My family wanted to try something other than all the franchise restaurants around. It was like the tv show Cheers , everyone knew each other's name. It was very down home with fiddle music playing constantly and an eclectic atmosphere and decor. They have a buffet which was decent enough, the grits could have been cooked another 10 minutes, and some of the bacon and sausage patties were overcooked. However are server Donna was a sweetheart, she made sure we were definitely taken care of. This is definitely where the locals come and they all greeted us as if we were long lost relatives.

Once we got our food we didn't see our waitress again. My bestie's mixed drink was never made, and when my bestie and I were done eating the waitress came back to our table and my bestie told her to cancel the drink, she said the drink was already made and couldn't be cancelled. The waitress went to retrieve the drink and it was not made so it was removed from our ticket. Bestie and I both ordered the Triple B burger and asked for the jalapeños to be removed. Bestie's burger came out with jalapeños on the burger. My burger was delicious until the heat from the jalapeños hit my palate and blew my palate with too much spice. The fries were seasoned well, crunchy, and hot. Honestly if the burger had less spice it would have been perfection so I'm so disappointed that I couldn't eat the whole thing due to the heat.

I stayed in Bluefield and he lives in Princeton, but he met me here since it was on my way to Cherokee. This leg of the trip was to drop off some cash for Mr. Bob. A lot of it. No, not that kind of money. Clean money. Anyway... The staff here is super friendly, the atmosphere fits the area, and the place has some charm. It looks like the prices for the sandwiches are very fair, but I got a bagel, and the price for one bagel is too high. However, this is more of a sandwich and coffee shop; it's not a bagel store. I definitely recommend The Grind. I'm not really a morning person so I don't know what Bob was talking about half the time, but that's just me. Definitely recommended!

It is next to the Edith Bolling Wilson Birthplace Museum, so stopping here after a visit would be super easy. There were plenty of specialty drinks on the menu, and they trended towards the sugary direction. There were plenty of families enjoying the space, and options for kids and adults. My drink ended up being sugary-sweet and I probably would have asked them to dial it down if I had realized. On the plus side, they were able to get drinks out pretty quickly, in spite of there being quite the crowd. The space was clean and modern. Also, the bathroom was clean and very much appreciated on our road trip. I probably wouldn't sit and enjoy my drink here, due to the high traffic (at least when I visited). For a quick stop in, it's nice. I'll be sure to order better next time. Solid spot!

The older woman who waited on us was very nice and exuded Southern charm. She was the best part of breakfast. I ordered sausage gravy and biscuits, scrambled eggs and sausage. I tried to order grits, but they didn't have any. The coffee was very good and should I've taken a cup to go. The eggs and sausage were good. However, the sausage gravy and biscuits were not very good. Biscuits just not taste good. I'm not sure why but it was missing. The gravy could've been lighter and had more sausage in it. While the service was good, the food did not come out at the same time and my gravy biscuit had been sitting for quite a while and was cold and gummy. I had been in the past and the food was better . Time for improvement in the consistency area.

Wytheville last night: Meatloaf tasted odd and bad, I only ate like 2 bites. Mashed potatoes so hard my fork bounced off. I ate ONE bite, full of UNCOOKED PIECES OF POTATOES plus dried out and hard as a rock. They offered to replace the potatoes. They brought me a little dish of same potatoes with some hot water mixed in, LUKEWARM if that..no way I was eating that! The corn muffin was also hard as a rock and stale and inedible. The biscuit was undercooked. I only ate a few bites and yet had an upset stomach midde of the night from the food. The person at the register looked concerned and said, someone else complained abouot the potatoes! Manager came out, was very irritated at me for complaining and acted like I WAS THE PROBLEM!!! I had driven 40 mins for this meal. :( She was so rude, no apologies at all, and clearly not fixing the mashed potatoes for anyone else Next Mt.
