Simply casual cafe. Walk in and order. If eat in they give you a number to your table. Pistachio latte: 4 stars. Pretty good. I got it ice and liked the texture of the pieces of pistachio in it. Brisket burrito: filled with meat. Good for lunch or dinner.

    Poached egg Benedict

It's so hard to find a breakfast restaurant around San Jose with long wait times. THIS PLACE HITS!! *Food* Everything is so delicious I got the post egg Benedict and my boyfriend got a egg and cheese turkey croissant so good well made and wait time was not long at all. We did have one egg that was supposed to be poached but the manager egg that was supposed to be poached but the manager came out and gladly replaced for running poached eggs. Really appreciate it *ambience* Really cute inside and plenty of street parking

    Brisket Breakfast Burrito

A short walk from the downtown Hilton San Jose. Fast, friendly service and a good variety of breakfast offerings. I enjoyed a brisket burrito served with a mildly spicy, slightly sweet hot sauce and a side of fresh fruit with a sprinkling of chili-lime seasoning. Absolutely excellent and quite filling. The coffee was notable, as well - a dark roast that was smoother than expected with just a hint of dark-roast bitterness. Worth a visit if you're downtown.

    Asian Chicken Salad

Beverages and treats here are always good. First time trying a salad and it did not disappoint. Nice balance of chicken and lettuce and the dressing amount was just right. Looking forward to trying more menu options. Comfortable, well-lit place to enjoy a meal or coffee. Staff are always friendly as well. Thank you

Egg turkey cheese croissant minus the best ingredient

We have been coming here for years and it used to be the best breakfast spot in the South Bay. But we have noticed the quality has been going downhill in the last year or so. We order the egg/turkey/cheese croissant sandwich. And each time we noticed less and less eggs and then today NO EGGS in an egg breakfast sandwich. Honestly made us laugh. I called them to rectify it and they put me on hold and then hung up. I know it's not easy running a business but we really miss the quality this place used to have.

    Power Scramble Bowl

Oh this cute little place is so yummmmm. I always crave healthy breakfast food and found the perfect Power Bowl they serve here and it's so simple and delicious!!! Such a healthy complete meal and I seriously can't find another restaurant that serves something quick, easy, and guilt free as this. In my opinion the surrounding area does seem just a little too busy and sketchy for my liking but inside, the ambiance is very cozy. You can definitely study, meet, or do work here. Haven't tried any of their other beverages or food options yet but will definitely be back!!!

iJava remains one of our favorite breakfast locations. They have a great variety of dishes and drinks. Our goto favorites are: (1) the Power Scramble w/ Egg Whites and (2) the Cumin Rice with Turkey Bacon There are many excellent wraps, burritos, plates, and sides on the menu.

    Power scramble and coconut latte
    Ray M.

Everything on the menu looked delicious, I wanted something fairly healthy for breakfast. The person behind the counter was very nice and she recommended the power scramble and it was great. Chicken, eggs, spinach, sweet potato among other things. I topped it off with a coconut latte, which was also very good. Definitely recommend.

This place is a like a little oasis in a busy intersection. It's warm and welcoming. The food is really fresh and made with care. We had the vegetarian crepe, kids grilled cheese, and an apricot tart. They were all delicious!

Crab Cake Benedict and "French Toast"

iJava Café - A Crab Cake Benedict Masterpiece (but skip the "French Toast") I come to iJava regularly and honestly, it's for one dish only: the crab cake Benedict. I've tried this dish at countless breakfast spots across the Bay Area, and iJava serves the best version--if you order it right. My order: Crab cake Benedict On a croissant Spinach on the side Hollandaise sauce on the side Why? Because the spinach is overly cheesy and strong, which overwhelms the delicate crab flavor. The "hollandaise" sauce isn't traditional--it's very thick, almost like a rich flavored spread, not the classic silky version. I skip it entirely and enjoy the crab and croissant on their own. When made this way, the crab cake Benedict is absolute perfection. Flaky croissant, real crab, and no overpowering extras. Now, about the French toast... iJava boldly claims to have the best French toast in the Bay Area. A manager even challenged me to try it, offering it on the house if I didn't like it. Someone who looked like the owner walked by and said, "I love our French toast--it's like bread pudding." That's exactly why I didn't like it. It is bread pudding. There's no cinnamon, no crisp edges, and it's drenched in vanilla syrup and fruit. They even bake their own baguette in-house specifically for this dish, but it's soaked in vanilla milk until soggy. Personally, I think they'd save time and money just using croissant or brioche, add the cinnamon in the custard before soaking. At least those would feel more like actual French toast.

    Delicious Mexicali Breakfast Burrito
    Joseph S.

Nice, modern vibe and relaxing tunes. Burrito was just I wanted - a little sweet and a little spicy. Worth the 15 walk from my downtown hotel.

Love to check out new places and they did not disappoint. Pistachio Latte, never had one before and it was so good with my guac toast.
    Stephen H.

Incredible service and food from a local small business. You can't go wrong with pistachio latte and guac and toast.

    Tina K.

Right on the corner by the entrance to 87 with street parking options. We came in and only waited a few minutes to order. The barista was super sweet and took our order. The matcha was delicious and the presentation was beautiful. We shared a brisket burrito which comes with a side of fruit or salad and had great flavor and was very filling.

I was expecting it to be super salty, heavy, and drenched in sauce, but it was actually really balanced and refreshing. The pork was flavorful without being overpowering, and I could distinctly taste the water chestnuts and veggies mixed in, which gave it a nice texture and freshness. It felt comforting without making me feel weighed down. The cold cut combo bahn mi here is seriously bomb. I also really liked the bread ratio--the baguette was the perfect size and didn't overpower the fillings. Some places think bigger bread is better, but it ends up taking away from the inside and makes the sandwich hard to bite into. Here, everything felt balanced, so you actually get the perfect mix of bread, meats, pickled veggies, and sauce in every bite. The cured meats were flavorful without being hella salty too, which made the whole sandwich even better. Def need to come back to try some of their desserts near the middle of the line's counter and in that fridge near the register! _______________________________________________________ --- S E R V I C E --- Service was great too. They handled the rush really well, and the staff still stayed warm and attentive even with how busy it was. When I got to the register, there were other customers trying to ask for extra help after getting their orders--and anyone who grew up around asian "aunties" and "uncles" knows how eager they can get. Instead of brushing me aside to quickly help them first, the cashier politely gestured that they'd assist them after finishing with me. It was a small moment, but I appreciated how respectful and composed they were while juggling everything. _______________________________________________________ --- A M B I A N C E -- To-go vibes for sure! It's a small shop big enough for the line (before it can go out the door), cold drinks and desserts in the fridges, small snacks and plates on your way to the register, and the pick-up window on the outside. Makes sense to just pick up your food and enjoy it in your car or at home because of how busy it can get. Heads up--they definitely have evenings where they clean-up and lock the door minutes for closing. Do make time to come before then to secure food!

Nowadays, the experiences aren't the same anymore and perhaps, it's been under new people management or something. It's been lacking some logistics and sometimes, it's difficult to hear the order being called out while lots of customers are inside. I told the front staffs that I wanted my portobello chicken sandwich $15.99 and the watermelon beverage $7.99 for here/dine-in. I even left them over $3.50 tips here. While everyone else picked up their orders very fast, mine was stuck somewhere in between others. They all got table numbers except me. I even asked if I needed a table number since I was planning to dine-in, but nobody answered or wanted to respond. They were too busy preparing sandwiches. Wait time to receive order was a bit over 15 minutes. I ended up standing around waiting and waiting, thinking about why I even tipped the place when my anxiety levels were escalating. Without a table number, how would they even know which table outside to deliver my orders to? Portobello chicken sandwich was very good though. Ingredients are full. Ciabatta bread was huge. This thick sandwich can definitely feed two people. Watermelon beverage tasted good too. Tables weren't all wiped down outside, but I can see the few employees hustling and bustling. It's still a strange feeling to not have a table number assigned to me while others did have one. Overall, sandwiches are still good and portions are generous. People love coming here. I think the staffs need more management briefing. They are all hardworking, but the front counter service leaves an impression and feeling about the overall experiences here.
