iJAVA is one of those cafe-and-brunch spots that sounds simple on paper but ends up delivering far more than expected. I ordered the chilaquiles ($19.45). The menu prices posted online don't match the in-person menu. For example, the chilaquiles were listed at $17.45 online but $19.45 in-store. Online ordering uses the correct lower price. Nevertheless, the chilaquiles arrived after 15 minutes and they were phenomenal. It's surprisingly difficult to find chilaquiles that get every component right. Usually, the chips are soggy, the beans are forgettable, or the protein feels like an afterthought. Not here! The texture was exactly what I wanted. Chips were softened enough to absorb the sauce but still maintaining some structure and bite. The black beans were cooked perfectly, the jalapeños added a pleasant kick without overwhelming the dish, and the beef chorizo wasn't rationed out. There was a generous amount throughout, and every bite felt balanced. Perfect amount of salt and seasoning. Service was excellent as well. Friendly, attentive, and efficient without being intrusive. Finding parking, however, was another story. After circling the area, we eventually turned onto Auzerais Avenue, found street parking, and walked a few minutes back. Not the end of the world, but definitely something to keep in mind before visiting. Between the parking situation and the menu pricing discrepancy, there are a couple of minor annoyances. But when the food is this good, they're easy to overlook. These were some of the best chilaquiles I've had in San Jose, and that's ultimately what I'll remember. If the rest of the menu is anywhere near this level, I'll gladly be back at iJAVA. read more

I'm not sure what I was expecting when I put the address to IJAVA into my navigation system but definitely wasnt expecting this to be the top 3 best breakfast burrito I've ever had. Upon arrival iJAVA doesn't seem like it would knock your socks off, simple clean decor which I always appreciate. The menu is somewhat limited for breakfast but I love that they serve it all day long. My mom ordered the eggs Benedict and I got the tri-tip breakfast burrito the eggs Bennedict was so yummy and I was amazed by the potato and bacon that came as the side for over $21 though I will say it's on the pricier range. The beef brisket breakfast burrito at $17.95 was very reasonable in my opinion as it included very high quality beef brisket that was so tender. I'm usually not a fan of barbecue sauce, but it works well here! Both portion sizes were great! You will leave full Overall, I was super impressed by this spot and I'm so happy we have a brunch spot that's halal. I would 100% come back. Especially since the service was kind too. Cute cafe walking distance from children's discovery museum. We ordered some breakfast burritos and I was very happy with my Mexicali burrito which was a veggie burrito with eggs , sweet potato , cheese and black beans. Oh this cute little place is so yummmmm. I always crave healthy breakfast food and found the perfect Power Bowl they serve here and it's so simple and delicious!!! Such a healthy complete meal and I seriously can't find another restaurant that serves something quick, easy, and guilt free as this. In my opinion the surrounding area does seem just a little too busy and sketchy for my liking but inside, the ambiance is very cozy. You can definitely study, meet, or do work here. We have been coming here for years and it used to be the best breakfast spot in the South Bay. But we have noticed the quality has been going downhill in the last year or so. I've tried this dish at countless breakfast spots across the Bay Area, and iJava serves the best version--if you order it right. My order: Crab cake Benedict On a croissant Spinach on the side Hollandaise sauce on the side Why? Because the spinach is overly cheesy and strong, which overwhelms the delicate crab flavor. The "hollandaise" sauce isn't traditional--it's very thick, almost like a rich flavored spread, not the classic silky version. I skip it entirely and enjoy the crab and croissant on their own. When made this way, the crab cake Benedict is absolute perfection. Flaky croissant, real crab, and no overpowering extras. Now, about the French toast... iJava boldly claims to have the best French toast in the Bay Area. A manager even challenged me to try it, offering it on the house if I didn't like it. Someone who looked like the owner walked by and said, "I love our French toast--it's like bread pudding." That's exactly why I didn't like it. It is bread pudding. There's no cinnamon, no crisp edges, and it's drenched in vanilla syrup and fruit. They even bake their own baguette in-house specifically for this dish, but it's soaked in vanilla milk until soggy. Personally, I think they'd save time and money just using croissant or brioche, add the cinnamon in the custard before soaking. At least those would feel more like actual French toast. read more

Reduced a star bc it was a little dirty. They had no soap on the single bathroom so I'm really hoping they had sinks and soap in the kitchen. Kind of gross to share one bathroom with the whole place too. We sat outside, which was nice weather but lacks ambiance. You're on the highway entrance so it's loud.
