The crab Benedict is flavorful and although not hot when served has an almost minty profile, while still being extremely hearty and filling, the potatoes not so much, I would recommend subbing the potatoes or asking for no potatoes if possible. The tiger spiced chai is wonderfully spicy and laced with cinnamon. The service is fast, within two minutes of placing my order I had two servers bringing my Benedict and Tiger spiced chai. The interior is well crafted and made of primarily wood which lends to a cozy cafe atmosphere. I apparently ordered the wrong item because I was completely disappointed with the breakfast burrito. I asked for veggie version with no bacon. I asked for extra beans since that to me would replace the bacon. The burrito was sooooo small. It didn't have any beans, pico or avocado which I was told with my phone call order it would have. I noticed on the menu the burrito comes with salad or fruit. Over the phone order I was not asked which one I wanted. So, I mentioned it and ordered the side salad. What a joke!! It was a few pieces of iceberg lettuce. I thought this place prided themselves on quality, healthy ingredients. The fruit in a picture on the Yelp site looks substantial and good. But my side salad' was useless and insulting. I also asked for the chipotle sour cream on the side. Whatever salsa I got on the side was hard to decipher if it was chipotle sour cream. The salmon Benedict was a good portion but on the salty side. Mainly I'm frustrated I paid $18 for one of the wimpiest burritos I've ever had. I would just walked to El Jalepeno Rojos or down to Tony at Delmas Market had I known I was going to be ripped off and still hungry after I ate. The owner was supposed to call me back but that promise hasnt come to fruition. I realize it only happened today but I truly want my $18 back! 2nd visit...ordered the wrong thing. Definitely do NOT recommend the acai berry bowl. Acai bowl: Granola was not a topping but the base. It was buried in the bottom of the bowl and there was a lot of it. This bowl was more like an overpriced parfait (granola, yogurt, honey, and fruit, nothing special) with liquid acai soup on top. See photo. Whoever made it doesn't seem to know that the acai should be the base and that it should be frozen. The ratio of granola and yogurt to acai was way too high. The fruit was fresh, and the flavors were basic but good. Would not order again. Not worth the ~$12. If I'd gotten this on my 1st visit, I would not have returned... Katsu burrito: Delicious!! Loved the fresh spinach. Portion size is really large. The burritos and chilaquiles seem to be where this cafe excels, foodwise. Have passed this place so many times but tried it for the first time today for both food and coffees. Food was amazing, avocado on toast, the lox bagel and the parfait were really tasty. We had our dog so had an outdoor table. Outside seating is ok, main issue is freeway noise. Inside was really nice, bright and looked like it was updated recently. I liked that they used actual cups, plates and utensils rather than disposable ones - so much nicer drinking from a cup than paper cup. All together a great find and only a short less than 5 min walk from Children's Discovery Museum. read more

Came here on a Saturday for brunch and didn't have the best experience. We got the chilaquiles, fully loaded burrito, iced americano, and a coconut cream latte. The fully loaded burrito was really solid & I would definitely get it again. Perfect ratio of filling & really satisfying without being too heavy. My partner enjoyed the americano and I was pleasantly surprised at the coconut cream latte. The chilaquiles was just ok but I found a short grey hair cooked into the corn chips. The back of the kitchen was open (facing parking lot) & we could see who was cooking so the hair was a match for one of the cooks lol. The other part was that I checked into Yelp to get a free drink as we ordered 2 entrees and had my phone facing one of the managers (?) as I checked in. I guess she didn't see so I checked in again & the notification came up that I had just checked in. So I checked in 2 more times right in front of her & but she didn't believe me because Yelp showed "you have already checked in" vs the little redemption button that pops up the first time. Yelp doesn't let you check into a place you're not near so logically it would make sense that I was telling the truth that I did it & wasn't trying to jip her. But she didn't believe me so that was a waste of checking in 4x. I wouldn't come back to this location but definitely would like to check out the other one located in willow glen. read more

The menu is also quite varied - with many options to choose from and as a bonus the meat here is all halal! (Signage everywhere) The only room for improvement would be in the service. The servers, although attentive and friendly were very slow (even though it wasn't crowded). The food took a while to come out and the order didn't all come together. This is a great coffee shop which serves a variety of beverages as well as some delicious food items. My office had a leadership meeting here the other day and we enjoyed breakfast with great coffee and tea. Prices are reasonable , Service is friendly, and they have a warm and inviting dining area. Parking can be a little difficult but there is a paid lot across the street and a small adjacent free parking lot. I was lucky and got a Street space. This is a hidden gem in San Jose and you should absolutely stop here if you're ever in town for a convention. I lived downtown for about 18 months and never got to visit this place. Firstly you will come in contact with a friendly staff. Then you will see lots of people sitting at tables with computers or reading books. The ambience is very chill. You will also see longer tables where people are sharing. The menu is very straightforward. I got the eggs Benedict with crab. It also had some sort of pesto sauce on the bottom. And I'm not sure what type of bread it was, but it was like a really soft English muffin. One of the eggs was poached perfectly and the other one was like a soft boil, but had the same effect. The absolute star of this place for the potatoes. I'm not sure what seasoning was on there, but it had a slight pint of cayenne, and the texture and softness were perfect. I had a mocha for my drink. A small and quiet space to grab breakfast close to the children discovery museum. You order at the register and wait with a number and someone from the kitchen area brings out your food. Salmon benedict was good but the egg was a bit overdone which you can see in my picture of the review. Potatoes were the best thing on the plate. They have a wide variety of drinks to try from coffees, teas, and drinks from freezer. Croissant toasted with egg was soft and moist but the eggs could use a little more seasoning to make it more interesting. My kids scrambled eggs were good but pricey. Was looking for a coffee/breakfast joint when I came across this on Yelp. Drive across town to check it out.. was planning on getting the avocado toast based on Yelp photos but the California breakfast sandwich caught my eye on their menu and decided to try that as I'm a sucker for croissant sandwiches. Would definitely order again. Cons: I lucked out getting parking out front.. not sure where I would have parked otherwise since it's a main thoroughfare with limited parking . As far as the sandwich- hate too much egg and cheese and the croissant was a bit small for the price of the sandwich.. which was like $13.45 (whole bill was $21.11 for the sandwich and latte, a bit pricey IMO.) The sandwich was pretty Lachlan flavor and had no meat (bacon!) which I feel is a necessity in a breakfast sandwich. Also, I was offered "salsa" with it which was as more or less a glorified tomato sauce- no spicy or complementary to the sandwich. To sum it up, maybe I just ordered the wrong thing and maybe my sandwich isn't a good representation of their food, but I think I'll stick with lattes only here. read more

It was my first time going to this place. The staff were very friendly. It was raining and they were playing music so the vibes were very chill and cozy. I liked how they had a bit of everything for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I was there for breakfast and got the French toast. I don't really like French toast but I loved this one. The menu had quite a few vegetarian & vegan options (bonus!). I opted for the vegetarian crepe which was delightful. The crepe was quite thin- which I like. Plenty of tasty vegetables inside.
