Selling hot dogs topped with Mac & Cheese

$1.50 ikea hot dog topped with MAC & cheese?!?! Better than a Costco $1.50 hot dog? Well my sons say yes but do I? NOPE!

    Christopher T.

Was paying for my purchases and at the end, they asked if I want some snack...well, saw the price and I hitted ice cream & hot dog. . Yup, supper cheap. Paid and went to the cafe near the exit, and wait for my snack. They do have the last chance of frozen foods (meat balls, potato balls, waffles, etc) jams, gravy, and plenty of other snacks both sweet & savory. Staff are nice, calling the assigned # and pick up, there is condiments station and sofa stations so you can add on & get drinks. There's a small section for seatings so you can enjoy the snack before leaving. Similar to Costco (if you been there before). Overall it's a clean, spacious and convenient spot or last chance spot to pick up some reasonable, affordable and cheap Swedish foods before leaving.

Omggg! The strawberry vanilla swirl cone is my go to. Ordering: It's so easy. You go to the kiosks to order & it prints out a receipt. Pick up: As quickly as the receipt prints my ice cream is ready (: On your trip to Ikea, Don't forget to grab an ice cream cone! Yummy

Ambience at beautiful Costa Mesa Ikea dining room

God I love this place - the food, staff and ambience. It's a mini-trip to Europe before they lost their minds, with notes from fun hostelling memories I used to get the veggie meatball plates, then moved to the veggie falafel plates ( those with G6PD deficiency: no fava beans !! so it's safe) which range from about $8.00 deoending how many plant balls you want but today? on the menu board was a decadent looking option: 'Pasta and marinara sauce ( with 4 meatballs)??? For $1.99 I was sure if you asked for plant balls instead they's say no sorry, but? You can totally opt for four plant 'meatballs' instead Before you go to Ikea sign up for 'Ikea Family' ( not sure if they still have a kiosk downstairs to sign up on the fly) it costs nothing to sign up for Ikea familyand you can do so as a single person alone besides the frequent discounts that can net you? each and every time you go to Ikea? You are entitled to free coffee or tea in the restaurant So this beyond delicious veggie meal, coffee and water? $2.14 all up including tax Apparently this deal has been availablefor several months but no knowing for how long it will last!! clean picturesque dining room with a view, clean bathrooms, tons and tons if disabled parking ( pretty sure ties with or more than at Sea World. If others even had half this much as Ikea does...) Zero mobility carts though so if you have limited mobility? but sure to use the short path to the restaurant and have wheels So greatful to Ikea for this Was having a 'what else could go wrong'kind of a day and then stubbed my toe on this solid gold nugget of a dining deal Don't wait till the deal is over- get to Ikea for a great pasta meal at a virtually frer price Make sure you have at least 9 quarters

Your last chance to grab something before you go. Mainly some frozen items and cookies/candy, but they do have hotdogs as well. That said, just go back upstairs and get you some meatballs! The ambiance is hectic, and I feel like the line/waiting area is kinda disorganized, but whatever. Again, go back upstairs and get a proper meal. :P

Not the greatest place if you're on a diet

The four chicken strips, was approximately $16. They looked healthy and good all the prices are excellent, but I think that the chicken strips were a little pricey for IKEA. - this is in comparison to the other items offered price-wise. There seem to have been a special needs school field trip or work experience outing today, that were enjoying their lunch, at the café. Sidenote; I couldn't find salad dressing, but apparently it was with the other condiment pumps. Additionally, if you want a to go bag, there aren't any, but they will give you a small food foldable box. We actually went here at 8 AM in the morning for breakfast, but they don't open till 10 AM. Also, some of the patrons, probably should've used the restroom facilities prior. Our family changed our seating location twice. - due to this.

One thing about me is that I love IKEA meatballs. If you ever get lost in IKEA, then you might stumble across their bistro or cafe-- or you can just follow the signs lol. The food is good, not great but not bad. It's a furniture store though, so there's nothing more to expect. Their meatballs are a quick and easy meal when you're balling on a budget. Let's be so real, it's kinda like an elevated microwave dinner. The service is also simple and easy.

Great pit stop after you shop! IKEA has a food court and a kid play area. Lots of room to sit and eat or you can take to go. There are also frozen items to buy for home cooking. Soda fountain and desserts available too! Lots of good deals weekly. Check them out.

For all the food I got for the price I got, $18 for three plates of food I can't complain. But I'd say 10 years ago in my opinion this place was a delicious place to have lunch. It tastes the same as it did 10-15 years ago, maybe it's because as we get older our taste palate gets more refined and obviously everything I ate here is processed. But no matter what I'd still come back for nostalgic reasons

I like coming here and trying out their hot dishes. This cafe is located upstairs but their showroom areas. This time I saw a few that I ah ent tried before and that's their smoke salmon salad (delicious) and their butter cod plate with mashed potatoes and peas. Both are quite tasty. There's always a long line so you have to be patient in getting your food. I like how they have mini trays and mini carts for you to carry your food to your table. Large dining area and good places for kids to play as well. One less star because they also put some cookies and wafers at this cafe but when I went to ask how much it was at the register, the staff didn't know as it couldn't ring up. She told me to go downstairs to buy it. What if my kids wanted to eat it now? I hope the fix this problem fast.

i love coming to ikea for an easy dinner whenever i'm in the area. the restaurant is easy to find on the second floor. there's many options to choose from but i enjoy the meatball meal. they also have desserts and other options to choose from. there is plenty of seating but it can get pretty busy during rush hour. the tables are pretty clean. service is standard, nothing amazing. although the cashier was very nice on the day i went.

The store is okay, prices have increased of course but decent selection of new items. My complaint is that I went down to the Cafe for some snacks and I am disgusted by the filthy floors, covered in spills, dirty footprints, dirty chairs, filthy tables, just GROSS!!! So they have self checkouts to save money on employees, so no employees to actually mop the filth all over the place!! Do you think it is this way in Sweden, I Highly doubt that. Come on IKEA, pick up the pace!!!

Ikea Costa Mesa is great for furniture and variety, but the food service and checkout process really need improvement. The food court was painfully slow, only one person working, and the line was insane. It took forever just to grab a meal. The same issue happens at checkout, not enough cashiers, and the self-checkout line moves at a snail's pace. It's frustrating when everything else about the store is so well organized. Hope they add more staff to make the experience smoother!

Delicious and a good cultural experience as altogether. Prices have gone up to reflect the current cost of food and labor.

My friend has raced about the cheap breakfast at her IKEA in Los Angeles. Is breakfast at the Costa Mesa IKEA working waiting til 10:00 to eat. Also, coffee?

    * I used to love Mr. Hot Bunz. I hired them years ago for a friend's baby shower, and they were the…read moretalk of the town--literally. Guests raved about them for years. Their bacon-wrapped hot dog and signature piñabero sauce were unforgettable. The meat was tender, juicy, and absolutely delicious. Fast forward to a few years later: I was hosting another baby shower at a venue in Huntington Beach. Even though they didn't have a license to operate in the city--and their pricing was higher--I still really wanted them. I even offered to cover the cost of the business license so they could cater my event. But the day of the event was a total letdown. The staff arrived late and started cooking in foil trays, which immediately raised questions from my guests. I kept trying to hype them up, saying "just wait, this is the best I've ever had!"--but when the food came out, it was disappointing. Tacos and hot dogs were bland, and even the "signature" sauce couldn't save it. Guests were making comments like, "Taco Bell would've been better." To make matters worse, it was so embarrassing that my guests ended up filling up on the pizzas I had ordered for the kids. Since then, I've had friends and family recommend other taco caterers, which kind of stings given how much I once vouched for Mr. Hot Bunz. Really disappointed. I truly hope they can bring back the quality they once had, but I won't be using them again.
