Quite shocked I've never written a review for this place. I've been "dining out" for years and have found their extensive menu incredibly good and on par with rival Din Tai Fung across the way. Located in the old Charlie Palmer location near. Bloomingdale's wing of SCP, this restaurant has easily established itself as a culinary mainstay on the property. The dumplings are legit, I've enjoyed their XLBs and dumpling soups with/out noodles and I must admit, they are ALL delicious! The broth exhibits a deep rich flavor and it feels comforting. The fried rice is fluffy, tasty, and has that perfect "fresh off the wok" flavor! Although I've never dined here I highly recommmed their food, it's high quality and Chinese food at its best. Had my first time dining at Paradise Dynasty and it was such a great experience. The host Hailey was very accommodating and found us a really good spot. Felix, the manager, was also very friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout our visit. We ordered the original Xiao Long Bao and the 8-flavor Xiao Long Bao basket. Every flavor was good, but the standout for me was definitely the crab roe, followed by the cheese and truffle flavors. Those three were absolutely amazing. The pork chop fried rice was also really good -- the pork chop was tender and flavorful. The pan fried dumplings had a nice crispy crunch on the outside while still having a good amount of broth inside. For dessert, the salted egg yolk dessert was incredible and a perfect way to end the meal. The restaurant itself was clean, neat, and had a really nice atmosphere. Paradise Dynasty is always such a good spot. I come here pretty often, especially for happy hour, and it's honestly a great deal. This time I ordered the Birria Xiao Long Bao from Burritos La Palma and it was so good. I love living in SoCal because we get fun fusion like Mexican food and Taiwanese food, and this was such a cool combo. The original Xiao Long Bao was also really good, as always. One of my favorites was the cold tofu. I like getting the crispy onion on the side so I can add more on top whenever I want. The ribs were also delicious, and the pork rib was super good too. We got sat right away! We went on a Wednesday around 4:30pm and there wasn't a line. Good thing is that if there is a long - you have a whole mall to walk through and explore/shop! The servers were so nice and quick! They provided recommendations and always checked in and made sure I had water! The restaurant is very clean and updated since it's brand new! The menu is so large!!! There are so many things to try!! Pork chop fried rice was 10/10 so crispy and flavorful Beef - they said this was one of their top dishes and the sauce was so flavorful beef was super tender. Walked in around 4pm for food on a Saturday and they seated us right away. Nicely decorated place. Tables clean. Everyone works professionally. Amazing service. Everything was delicious to me especially when I added the spicy chili that's on the table by default. Paradise is a dumpling house located just inside one of the Bloomingdale's entrances. It's a fairly large restaurant, clean, and modern. It was busy when we arrived but we were able to be seated right away. The staff were friendly and our server was very kind and helpful. We tried a few different dishes. The pork Xiao long bao was very tasty and soupy. The Szechuan version had an unusual flavor no don't care for it but my friend liked it. The liked the hot and sour soup had but the hot and sourness was not that evident. I probably wouldn't get it with noodles next time. I'm wondering if it toned down the flavor. We also tried the fried pork chop. It was also good flavor-wise but the oiliness made the batter a bit soggy. For dessert they had a seasonal mochi dish. It was sooo delicious. There were 2 each of black sesame and matcha mochi with walnuts and a house made honey syrup. I could have eaten a dozen. I hope they make it permanent. You know, if not for my gf's coworker who suggested we try Paradise Dynasty the next time we were down here, there's a good chance we never would've discovered this place. In part because I hadn't even heard of them until she put them on my radar, but mostly because I doubt we would've found them if not for her directions. Seriously - I never would've guessed there were so many restaurants and even a food court hidden away inside of Bloomingdale's from the rest of South Coast Mall! Having been described to us as, "similar to Din Tai Fung, but not quite the same", it didn't take us long once we stepped inside to understand the comparison. The decor is similarly modern, but darker/sleeker, and, more importantly, the menu looked just as intriguing. Much like their more well known neighbor in the mall, Paradise Dynasty also has a terrific selection of dumplings, including eight different types of xiao long bao, a variety of dim sum offerings, soups. small plates, a wide range of noodle dishes, entrees, fried rice, entrees, and desserts. They also have a solid cocktail menu as well! -- SIGNATURE ORIGINAL XIAO LONG BAO I don't know if I'd say these were perfect, but I certainly wouldn't say they're far off either. The skins were just the right thickness (stretched, but didn't tear), there was a fair amount of soup in each XLB, and the filling was oh so porky. Yum! -- CRAB MEAT WITH CRAB ROE XIAO LONG BAO This was awesome! Between the meat and the roe, each piece had a good amount of crab flavor to it yet it didn't overpower the pork in this either. -- PAN FRIED SHANGHAI KUROBUTA PORK BUN Of everything I've tried, this was probably my least favorite thing...and it was still okay. On the plus side, the filling was (almost) just as good as the Supreme Original XLB, but I wasn't a huge fan of the bun itself, as it was a bit thick/bready. -- STIR FRIED PEA SHOOTS WITH MINCED GARLIC This is far from crazy unique, but it was no less good. The pea shoots were very garlicky and, most importantly, weren't overcooked. -- NOODLE WITH MINCED PORK & MUSHROOM SAUCE I don't know if this is still offered on the menu anymore, but it was pretty decent. While it was actually a little too saucy, the noodles had a decent bounce to them and there was a fair amount of meat and mushrooms in this. -- YUZU GIMLET - Roku Gin, Choya Yuzu, and Lime Gimlets are a little hit or miss for me, but I actually thought this one was pretty decent. The pour in this wasn't too heavy, for better or worse, but I really liked the yuzu flavor. -- SPECIAL DYNASTY XAO LONG BAO (8 Flavors) - Signature Original, Szechuan, Garlic, Cheese, Kimchi, Crab Meat with Roe, BBQ Pulled Pork, Black Truffle The Signature Original, Crab Meat with Roe, and Szechuan (just a touch of heat) were our favorites. The Kimchi, Black Truffle (not too strong), and Cheese (surprisingly) were fine as well, but the Pulled Pork (more like BBQ than XLB) and Garlic were misses for me. -- PRAWN & KUROBUTA PORK WONTONS IN CHILI OIL No lie - this might be one of the best versions of this dish I've had. Not only were the wontons plump, but the filling was delicious, the skins weren't too thick nor thin, and I LOVED the taste of their chili oil. -- STIR-FRIED FRENCH BEANS WITH MINCED PORK AND PRESERVED OLIVE VEGETABLES This was awesome! The French Beans were well cooked (just slightly blistered) and there was a good ratio to the pork and preserved veggies. I also love how the dish wasn't too salty/drenched with soy sauce. -- NOODLES WITH FRIED PORK CHOP IN THICK CHICKEN SOUP The soup was flavorful, rich, and decently thick while the noodles had a nice bite to them. I do wish the pork chop had been crispier, but it was really moist and I love that it was served on the side instead of in the bowl. As good as Paradise Dynasty's food is, the service here might actually be even better. From the hostesses to the runners, everyone was so nice and friendly, but our servers really stood out, especially the one we had the first time we were here (Chloe?). Plus, not only did they make some great suggestions on what to order, but they were also really attentive, checking on us often to make sure we were doing okay. Between how good the food is and the terrific service, it's not hard to see how Paradise Dynasty has become one of my favorite restaurants in OC. On top of that, it's shockingly easy to get a table here (almost no wait for dinner on a Thursday, about ten minutes for lunch on a Saturday), which is not only uber convenient, but really underrated when compared to how long the wait is at Din Tai Fung. This place was so good and had amazing service! From the moment you check in to the moment you get seated at your table, you are greeted by all workers. I love these kind of restaurants who really make all guests feel welcomed. I booked a reservation online because I was afraid it would be super busy since it is located inside South Coast Plaza. Emily is an amazing server!!! 10 stars and beyond for Emily, she was so nice and recommended all the popular dishes. Very attentive to us. Dishes and comments as pictured, the green beans were so good, it comes with pork! I love proteins with veggies. I had been wanting to try Paradise Dynasty for a while, but unfortunately, it felt a bit overhyped for me. Considering this is a Singapore-based chain, I expected something more memorable. We had about a 45-minute wait, but luckily this location is connected to South Coast Plaza, so we were able to walk around and keep ourselves busy, which made the wait more manageable. For food, we ordered a side of rice ($3), the Signature Original Xiao Long Bao, Crispy Sweet & Sour Chicken, and Fried Rice with Pork Chop. Overall, the food was good, but nothing stood out as exceptional. The sweet and sour chicken had a noticeably artificial taste that took away from the dish. The fried rice and Xiao Long Bao were solid, but pretty standard, I've definitely had better. I do want to give a shoutout to our server, Hyun Shin, who was very helpful and attentive throughout our meal. His service was definitely a highlight. I enjoy coming to this establishment when I'm at South Coast Plaza! There's actually not too many sitdown places to eat at South Coast and Din Fung legit had a 3-4 hr wait and I actually preferred this place more. Bar seating usually has no wait! I just wish the service was better. The staff are all really nice. I think it's just the culture here. They only provide a thin napkin and no utensils besides a chopstick and it's hard to grab someone's attention here for basic cutleries. Things I order: -wonton and chili sauce-it's more soy based than spicy, but they do have a separate chili oil on the side at each table. -chicken dumplings-good -kung pao chicken- don't order this! Super small portion. Such yummy food!! We came to celebrate Mother's Day and even though it was packed, service was amazing and the food came out fast and hot. Andre was especially great and attentive. He always made sure our waters were refilled, cleaned up our table, and was really fun to talk to. It was our first time here so he gave up some more recommendations for next time. My favorite was the garlic xiao long bao, Dan Dan noodles, salted egg xiao long bao, and assorted mochi. I thought the chili oil wonton was just okay but everything else made up for it. Make sure to get a reservation in open table or join the waitlist because it got busy. There were no restrooms inside the restaurant so you have to go downstairs but that was fine. We came in around 5 on a Saturday evening and did have to wait for about 20 minutes for our table. However after being seated, service was great and food came fairly quickly! The interior felt almost like being at a club; had dim lighting and nice lights. We ordered the Japanese cucumbers with minced garlic and fried pork chop as our starters and I absolutely loved the cucumbers (I'm a sucker for cucumbers in general). The fried pork chop was fine although would have liked a bit more seasoning from it. We also ordered the original XLB, garlic XLB, and stir fried noodle with shredded pork. Unfortunately, the XLB did not meet our expectations as we did hope for more flavor from each of them. The stir fried noodles were fine but I did have season it myself with the soy sauce and chili. I visited Paradise Dynasty last night. I frequently visit this place because I don't like to wait for three hours at the other dumpling place inside the mall so I prefer to visit this one. My wife and kids love this place. We always eat the original dumplings. Sometimes we get the rainbow dumplings. Yesterday we got to try for the Collaboration of Burritos La Palma for their birria dumpling. We also ordered pork chop fried rice, black pepper steak, and we also had sweet and sour fish filet. We always get the cucumbers with garlic, the green beans and spinach for veggies. My kids love the chocolate filled panda buns and I always have a great experience here. The service is amazing and the ambiance is great. On weekends it might get a little busy but weeknights are pretty easy to get in. They have a great happy hour with a lot of menu items 40% off so I would recommend going to this place with friends. Had the stirfries noodles with pork which was okay but I was expecting fatter chewy noodles for chow mein. Sweet and sour fish was pretty good but not a large portion. Wontons were solid but a bit underwhelming. Cucumber really hit for me. Fried pork chop was kind of soggy to be honest. The pumpkin dessert was pretty delicious. Same with the salted egg yolk xlb. We recently came back to Paradise Dynasty for a quick lunch and the staff, especially Robert, took amazing care of us! This is my first visit to Paradise Dynasty at South Coast Plaza. I was here down in the OC for work and I was looking for things to eat. I decided to stop in on a random weekday afternoon to try their viral soup dumplings. This is going to be mostly a rant: What kind of rubbed me the wrong way is I got here right towards the end of their happy hour pricing which was fine. The host was very clear that I didn't make that time cut off and didn't really care since I didn't know it was a thing until I got there. But with their virtual queue, you were able to see where you are in line. I was pretty much the first party right after the cutoff time because I could see myself progress all the way through to the top of the list but then stopped seating guests. At that time it was about 4:40 and so they waited until it was 5:00 to start seating people again. I didn't eat anything all day and I was hangry. I didn't mind paying the full price anyway and he was very clear about me not making that happy hour pricing anyway. I wanted to eat some food. I was very hungry and the fact that the community with his extra 20 minutes for whatever reason. I was not happy. I was dining solo so they seated at the bar. I wondered afterwards, if I could've just sat at the bar to begin with and not how to put up with their gamesmanship of making sure I didn't get discounted xlb. Anyway, they're a very popular store. There's going to be lines and a wait. Food was pretty good. Also got a the dan dan noodles. I think it was just very upset the entire time. You can watch the kitchen make them fresh through the windows. The sampler is really pretty and colorful and it was really fun to taste each of the flavors. Their portions looked small but it was perfect for 2. The tea was delicious and came in a cute gold pot. Service was on point. We were served by Bao. My friend and I tried Paradise Dynasty for the first time, and it was pretty good. Pretty comparable menu items to Din Tai Fung! Paradise Dynasty did seem a little bit less attentive to allergies than Din Tai Fung, or maybe that was just our server, but I feel like it's worth mentioning as someone with an allergy. I got the vegetable egg fried rice and the stir fried spinach which were both so tasty and gluten free! One negative thing that stood out though, was that one of the dishes that my friend ordered had been sitting at the counter for probably around 8ish minutes. I had a clear view of the window and watched multiple orders accumulating with no one coming by to run them so by the time my friend's noodles did come, they were no longer hot. Maybe they were short staffed this day so I don't want to be too harsh especially with all of the other positives. Been wanting to try Paradise Dynasty to see how it compares with DTF, and actually got a table in the midst of mother's day very quickly. Since PD is clearly trying to emulate DTF, I feel like it's only fair to compare the two. I was eager to try the XLB sampler, and a few other items that DTF doesn't have - the daikon radish pastry, and the salted egg yolk XLB for dessert (forgive us - we weren't actually that hungry but wanted to try). First with the food: The sampler was fun, and each of the flavors were interesting. Did not care for the kimchi or crab & roe dumplings, but all of the rest were solid. This sampler really isn't something you can share if everybody wants to try all of the flavors, so we got two. The daikon pastry was fluffy and flaky, but lacked flavor. The salted egg yolk XLB were exactly as promised and worth trying (especially if you've never had this flavor before). Food was solid. Glad I've tried, but don't really feel like I need to return and I'm still much more of a fan of DTF's dumpling selection. Adding to this is the fact that I think the service is just alright. Yes it was a busy day, but no busier than DTF on any average day. I just feel that the service at DTF is much more pointedly special, and doesn't leave you feeling like you're bothering people every time you have to ask for something. We never got checked on, and multiple people came to drop off food or take empty plates while ignoring my empty water glass - I finally had to flag down someone to get a refill. The food is just as good as Din Tai Fung. The XLB were all bursting with soup. The skin is just the right amount of thickness as well. While the XLB sampler was really pretty, I don't think I'd order that again. I felt the different flavors weren't as distinct as I would have liked. The service here was really good. Came back to give Paradise Dynasty a second chance after years since my last visit. The mapo tofu with the sichuan peppercorn numbing effect was definitely not my favorite and I won't be ordering that again. Loved the fried rice with pork chop and the green beans were both pretty good. The crab and roe xiao long bao and spicy kurobuta wontons were tasty, but I personally still like Din Tai Fung's flavors overall better including the sauces. Our server was Hendry and he was very nice and took good care of us. Location of Paradise Dynasty is inside Bloomingdale's "food hall" area at South Coast Plaza, so recommend parking at that end of the mall unless you want to make a long trek. read more

Just to follow up on my previous review, came back for dinner with my wife and the experience was amazing. Went after the original dumplings and really enjoyed them. We also got the stir-fried French bean with minced pork. I love garlic infused veggies and these really had amazing flavor. Our main dish was the stir fry noodles with chicken, also an amazing dish. So much so my wife grabbed a togo order to take to my grandsons and they loved it. Again, service was great, positive energy and vibes throughout. looking forward to bringing the family here to try them out. read more

Oh and to Angelina's Manager, I have to be honest with you. You were just as caring and professional, thank you! Wish I remembered your name, lady! As a Relationship & Dating Coach, trust me when I say this: Customer service is basically the Five Love Languages in action. And Angelika? She speaks all FIVE fluently. Somehow she's juggling a dozen responsibilities behind the hostess stand, yet she moves like someone who just got handed a million-dollar Bloomingdale's shopping spree. How does she do it? Is she secretly practicing radical gratitude? Does she win the lottery every Friday? I need answers. FOOD The food here is phenomenal. My forever favorite is the French Beans, but no chili, please. That red chili burns my throat like an ex who took all my belongings and fled to New Zealand. You must try the Taiwanese cabbage. Not sure they have enough EV chargers for what feels like the EV capital of the world. And South Coast security, oh gosh, please keep an eye on those folks with fancy cars parking in Handicap spots without placards. Tow them. Tow them all. (Isn't it like $250 a pop now?)
