    Avocado Toast

This is my second visit at this location. On my first visit, I ordered one Avocado Toast. It came with sliced avocados with Arugula on a sourdough bread. On top of that, they drizzled it with olive oil, crushed peppers flakes, salt and pepper. It was super fresh, delicious, and very fillings. On my second visit, I had the delicious MJ Famous Breakfast Burrito. It was filled with scrambled eggs, sausage, fresh baby potatoes, green onions, refried beans, tomatoes, cheddar and MJ salsa on side. This burrito was super delicious. Great customer service. They are few tables outside and a very small waiting area inside. Don't forget to check-in to get a free cookie or coffee. I got myself a chocolate chips cookie treat. I will definitely like to try their lunch menu.

Walked in here at 1pm (not breakfast hours) we were greeted by a nice aroma coming out of the kitchen and a very nice lady. It was our first time here so we weren't really sure what to order. I went with the avocado toast and I asked if it was possible to add an egg white. Since it was past breakfast I knew they would probably tell me no, the cashier still went to the kitchen and asked if they could do an egg white for me and she said "yes" so that was super awesome ! Food was delicious, egg was not greasy. Avocado was fresh and arugula was perfect. I always love freshness in food and I really enjoyed it. Their green Juice is so good I believe it's called "the juicer" I asked for it without lemon. They made it so good. Will def come back.

Caprese panini - basil, mozzarella, tomato, balsamic glaze, and I added Turkey plus I omitted the cream cheese. Very good!

MJs is such a little hidden gem for anyone that works in the nearby area. Their food is always fresh, they make it to order, and they truly care about the food being correct and coming out good. They always are so kind and accommodating with my special requests and changes I have to make to my food due to a chronic intestinal illness I have and I appreciate that OH SO much! Just that little thing makes such a huge difference for people like me! Everyone in there is always so kind and professional but in a down to earth way. The lady that runs the register is and answers the phone is so sweet. If someone has a bad thing to say about this place then I would question them on who was actually at fault. Like the person saying they were upset that they forgot MJs closed at 2 and didn't pick their sandwich up in time .. sorry but that's on you bud. It's not their fault that they have hours and close at a certain time. Next time, now that you are aware of the timing just give them a call and say hey, I'm running a few minutes behind and see if they will hang a bag on the chair outside for you or leave it on the table outside for you. It's a small place but it's always clean and due to the staff feels very welcoming and inviting. I love sitting outside while I wait for my order in the sun before having to go back into the office. A few of my favs off the menu for those that are having trouble deciding: Turkey cranberry havarti sandwich (the bread is good!) The caprese panini Their salads are all good honestly. Very fresh and they give big portions. I'm partial to the Cobb. The Turkey club with bacon and avocado is also real good. Their smoothies are good and the iced tea is made in house and it's amazing. They also have AWESOME pickles for my fellow pickle lovers. Anyways, just wanted to give some love to my favorite little neighborhood cafe that keeps all the business men and women fueled when we don't have time to make our own lunch. Thanks MJs!!

My sister and I came in on a Friday afternoon and there was plenty of parking at the structure. We didn't stay beyond 25 mins and got it validated! With all the ambience and parking outta the way, on to the drinks. It was my first time here and given its modern aesthetics, I was really excited to try their drinks. Unfortunately it was a miss for me that day. My Churro iced coffee did not have any hint of churro flavor or scent at all. Coffee didn't taste bad, just a bit of a disappointment when you go for a flavored coffee, if you know what I mean. My sister did enjoy her order of Fizzy Americano, so I MIGHT be back to try this place again. Won't be for a long while though because there are so many other quaint coffee shops all over Irvine.

At the Costa Mesa location, parking was a little tricky at first, but after circling we got lucky with a corner spot. The location itself is SO cute! The line was pretty long and you are standing in direct sun, so just keep that in mind, but the service was quick and efficient once you order. Inside, it's small but really charming, with Sunny Angels hidden around and a very open, friendly vibe. My sister (who is basically a professional coffee drinker at this point ) got the matcha and said it was her favorite, which says a lot. I got the iced Spanish latte with oat milk, and it was SO good. Spanish lattes are my go-to, and this one had the perfect hint of cinnamon without being overly sweet. Even as the ice melted, it still tasted great, which is rare. The Torrance location was just as good! Parking was easier, the space is bigger, and the service was still super friendly and fast. My husband got the cold brew "Nook way" and finished it in like 10 minutes. He said it tasted like Golden Grahams cereal. Highly recommend both locations and especially the Spanish latte. I came shortly after they opened on a Saturday and they had a line as per usual. It's always a crowd here! But, it feels trendy and charming. They have a seasonal menu and a concrete menu. On my two visits, I ordered the Dessert Glaze with whole milk ($7.50) and the Straight from Kyoto ($7.50) with maple walnut milk. Both drinks I ordered were $7.50 and the price doesn't include tax, so I paid ~$8 in total per drink. They don't add too much ice, so you get a good amount. The Dessert Glaze wasn't very memorable, but I really enjoyed their matcha with the maple walnut milk! The taste was similar to a hazelnut creamer, and the drink wasn't too sweet because their matcha is very strong and full-bodied. My friend ordered the Arnold Palmer, and it was kind of watery so I wouldn't recommend their lemonades. The drinks can take a while depending on how busy they are, but whether you can find a table or sit at the bar, there's usually somewhere to sit. The ambiance here is great, with a bathroom, trendy decor, and a community-feel. It has been hot lately, and they don't run AC, however. So, be mindful of that. We didn't try any food, but it honestly looked amazing. Some cafes make you feel a certain way, and I think Salty Horse has that it factor where you want to come bring your friends for brunch or a quick drink. It's simply a nice place to be.
