The location is close enough to the entrance they you can go upstairs, cut through some doors and enter the restaurant if you want to get some grub before strolling through their showrooms. The line gets long sometimes but it moves pretty fast. The Swedish meatballs plate is filling and the food is served hot. You get 8 flavorful meatballs, berry jam, choice of veggies, mashed potatoes, and gravy. The several times I've been here, they were all out of coffee, except once, but it was lukewarm. The soda has a weird flavor and aftertaste. I have tried their salmon once before but I have had better. I'd stick to the meatballs. The seating is acceptable, you must clean your own table prior to seating, removing the leftovers of the prior customer. It's a nice open seating, a bit crowded during lunch time. It is cafeteria style where you bring your tray and dining ware to the cubby collection booth via a cart when you're done. The Exit Cafe is located on the first floor near the registers and conveniently by the exit (hence the name). They have hot dogs, soft serve, drinks and small goodies to enjoy. Food is decent but nothing particularly wonderful to write home about. Employees are always very courteous and work fairly quickly when there is a long line; although it would be smarter to staff more than one person in the cafe at a time. And other stuff. Yeah it's cheap and yeah it's fine if you're spending the day dragging yourself around this immense warehouse, but man, it makes you wonder if you're better off just being hungry. Alright, let's get one thing straight. I'm obviously not rating a fine dining establishment or if it wasn't clear then it should be now. The yogurt is delicious, tastes like ice cream/yogurt and it's not a whole lot that you'd hate yourself afterwards. Since moving to OC, we've been hitting Ikea often on the weekends. You could say it has become a favorite past time (No, I'm kidding. We hate shopping, we hate driving, we hate crowds. It's an awful time but we have to do it). Every time we go to Ikea, we walk past by here and give in to the temptation of having ourselves a dollar yogurt. Besides, we need the energy to be able to drive ourselves back home after dodging kids and shopping with a crowd all afternoon. They work fast, get your order and hand it to you within the minute. Manager: Cindi I came into IKEA by South Cost Plaza. I bought "BILLY" bookshelf. Got home and began to follow instructions. Realized after shelf is bracketed to the wall that package is missing two shelves and the 8 pins to hold those shelves up. Drove back to IKEA, CS department was helpful in that the lady went and checked for me to see if they had extra parts that could help me. Was told to check extra parts area at this IKEA. Found one shelf with a decent scratch on it in extra parts section. Went to cashier was told by lady in CS to ask for a manager so the manager could wave the price. Cashier continued searching for the shelf I bought to get down to brass tax and figure out a solution. Manager's name...Cindi. She was Caucasian with wavy long grey hair. She said I'm sorry but there is nothing we can do without a receipt. That was it. I waited 20-30 minutes in CS. Then waited and searched for another 20-30 minutes. Then the manager slams the door in my face. Cindi needs a proper course in CS training. The shelf that was damaged was $2. Cindi looked at me and was like "What it's $2?!" In a manner where it was like "what you can't afford $2?" Completely disrespectful. She did this in front of her cashier. Demoralizing a customer. Look, it is not my problem that the person or robot packing the shelf did not pack it right. And for her to be so rude is unacceptable. Please talk with Cindi. If she talks to CUSTOMERS in this manner, you might want to ask your STAFF at this location by South Coast Plaza how they feel about her. P.S. it takes me about 20 minutes to get to this location. Sure, the food isn't probably on the Weight Watchers diet, but for a cheap snack, you can't go wrong. Pizza slices for under $2 and a hot dog combo (2 hot dogs, chips and a drink) for also less than $2 - you really can't go wrong! This is by far the worst experience in a popular place like this as for customer service. For returning a small item for $7 with a receipt I had to wait over an hour. I talked to the manager and he was rude and not helpful at all. They only have one guy returning for the whole place with many customers in line waiting. He's slow and takes his sweet time. Abysmal service. Rude. This place is awful. Don't bother buying their junk. I made the mistake of buying an item that had to be retrieved from furniture pick uo. After watching a dozen people come and go after I checked in, the worker told me it's about where the item is in the back and "you'll just have to wait." If you want to wait at least half an hour after paying for your item, then this is the place for you. Ikea must be a terrible employer. The staff doesn't care at all about this place. How can you not like 50cent hot dogs?! This little bistro is right on the way out, so you can grab a snack before you head home. The hot dogs are great; I actually like them better than Costco's. Maybe because they're small in size and cost. The Costco ones are a bit too meaty for me. Anyway, everything is ridiculously cheap here. They serve cinnamon rolls, frozen yogurt, pizza, coffee and hot dogs. The cinnamon rolls are kinda meh, but the frozen yogurt and hot dogs are my favorite. I haven't had the pizza yet, but I'm sure it's good too! Strangely enough, the drinks ($1) here are cheaper than the Restaurant upstairs ($1.49) and you get a to-go cup versus a glass cup upstairs. You get the same selection of drinks so you might as well pick up a cup on your way in and pick up a refill on your way out. :) read more

It is the downstairs food court in IKEA that is close to the exit. Although there are four cash registers available, there was only one with a cashier on it when we got there. That particular cash register was the only way to pay for both hot and refrigerated food and there were over 10+ people in the line there, making the procedure much slower than taking the refrigerated food to a regular checkout, but I also needed hot food, so it was a bottleneck. The made-to-order food includes hot dogs, frozen yogurt, and cinnamon buns. My friend was looking for a seasonal item in the groceries and she could not find it. Why is everything in IKEA so great? I mean, you're in a furniture store and the food is amazing and really well priced. After a lot of shopping my bf and I decided to take a little break and order food. We ordered chicken strips with fries, and for $1 more we added 5 meatballs. The total was about $7 and definitely worth it. Everything was so good; the chicken was juicy and fries were crispy, and of course you have to eat the meatballs when you go there.
