Have been coming to this IKEA locations for many years. While it could be hectic on weekends, coming here on a weekday was always relaxing and enjoyable. We came here last Thursday to pick up a few small things, and to get new decorations ideas/inspirations as usual. It's great that we could charge our car while shopping as well. We noticed that a few of the things we got 1-1.5 year ago that we wanted to get more, such as picture frames and mirrors, were 15-30% more expensive! Not sure if it's because of inflation or tariffs. Escalators were functional. Everything was well organized, and we're able to find what we're looking for easily. Until next time!

Second time going to IKEA. We needed a new dresser for my bedroom. First things first, my mom and I were hungry so we stopped by the food court to grab a quick bite. Can't come here without having some Swedish meatballs. I also got the fried fish, which was surprisingly so freaking good! The price is super affordable and the service and staff made the wait time move swiftly. I managed to get a nice dresser and have it delivered home and assembled for me. The material was nice and sturdy. I love it so much that I even ordered another one in a different color for my mom!

Cheap good food with fun albeit sad displays! Kinda sad that they replaced the veggies with the peas but it was yum regardless. Swedish meatballs are always good! We came on a hunt for the orangutan plush and it was super cute in the kids section. I enjoyed the Mac and Cheese and the salmon a lot. Strawberry swirl was a really good price for $2, perfectly tart. The displays are sad to me as I don't have a personal space yet but it's inspiring to see how space can and would be used.

It's always a fun time visiting IKEA! Even if you're going for 1 item, trust me you will end up finding something else that you want to buy. The food is always delicious and a great price.

This is my main furniture store I go to for simple home decor. Even though it's not as pretty as Anthropology, it's affordable, minimalistic, and pretty sturdy for over 10 years. You can also decorate or paint any design you want on plain furniture. They don't have everything in stock, so I have to purchase on their website, which is a bummer for walking around the whole store. I highly recommend signing up for their free membership, so you can receive food discounts on certain menu items and free coffee/tea from their cafeteria. I always go for their Swedish meatballs plate. I don't recommend ordering the chicken tenders with fries, which were both drier than Popeyes. Even their cake slices are dry since they put them on their refrigerated display for nearly the whole day. Stockholm Salmon was good with a small chunky potato salad. Never order their cooked salmon plate, which is frozen. You can cook it better at home or go to a fancy seafood restaurant nearby. As for doing remote work with their complimentary wi-fi, please do not come on weekends. Expect to hear loud, crying children throwing a tantrum or have a cute, gentle baby giggle next to you. There is no in between. The escalator needs to work because I'm tired of waiting for the next elevator to arrive every 10 minutes.

My family and I look forward to coming here when we travel near here. We always end up spending way more time than we plan to. The displays are nice to look at and definitely always inspire us to remodel our house. It can get crowded, especially on weekends so watch out for that. The layout of the store is pretty organized though. I love how they organize each room. It's easier to look through. It can be overwhelming though. Besides that, Ikea is still one of favorite places to go when we stop by. I would say that this place is for majority that are on a budget. The quality of items aren't the best. But I've had some stuff that lasted for quite a few years.

Needed my chocolate bar. I drive 90 minutes to the doctors in the area. So I stop here for me and mom to get our chocolates. Thanks.

Ikea hasn't changed much since the last time I visited. There are new designs for the duvets, picture frames, kids toys, furniture etc. This visit we went to find some decorations for my daughter's room. She wanted floating shelves. We found the shelves and picked up some other household items. We needed some screws for the shelves and I was able to find a worker to ask. He was so kind, attentive and got us what we needed. The highlight of the visit was MEATBALL SUNDAE! Definitely, worth the $2.50 spent :D I would highly recommend the next time you go!

I am a huge fan of Ikea! Shopped here earlier this month and could not resist stopping at the upstairs cafe for their famous Swedish meatballs meal with peas, mashed potatoes, and cranberry sauce. The cafe is very spacious and with lots of tables and seating area. One perk that comes with an Ikea membership is complementary coffee...for those who are coffee lovers or simply need more oomph to walk around in that gigantic store.

    Anna N.

Will never not love ikea's Swedish meatballs!!! Their Stockholm salad is also one of my favs! Love the smoked salmon and potato salad.

She told me to read the wall yet she continues to scan tickets at the front of the line and bring those people's orders out first.

Pick-up order system is discriminatory. It specifically states on the wall "please have a seat while we prepare your order". Yet if you stand in line when you get to the front suddenly your order takes priority over everyone else's. I can't physically stand on a hard concrete floor for 45 minutes so I had taken a seat. Now essentially I'm screwed as 5 people who came after me have now received their items and now I'm sitting on the floor trying to be "in line" so eventually I can get my order. NEVER again IKEA. Don't discriminate against people with disabilities.

    Christine W.

I came here when the escalator wasn't working and it was so difficult to get to the entrance. Signs were small and had to walk extra out of the way and up elevators that were slow moving.

    Ask the Community - IKEA

Is the kid's play area opened?

Am not sure as I haven't noticed it. As last time we just came here to grab some food. You can definitely call Ikea and can get it confirmed.

Do they deliver to San Fransisco?

You can schedule same or next day delivery to SF through IKEA's partner TaskRabbit at TaskRabbit.com/ikea

Do they accept return or store credit for vanity lamp without receipt?

You got to have the receipt for any returns or exchanges. They can see if they can search your receipt through your original payment method or IKEA family card membership (if you are a member and scanned your card at the check-outs).…

I went yesterday to get a 6-pack of cinnamon rolls, and there were no cinnamon rolls to be had anywhere -- was this just a fluke, or are they not doing cinnamon rolls because of COVID?

Because of the supply issues all businesses are encountering could be that we didn't get the shipment in

Do you have wheelchairs for customers to borrow?

Yes. Ask a coworker and they will let you borrow one.

Is the click and collect at the East Palo Alto store a curbside pickup or an in store pickup?

It is an in-store pick up, to my knowledge. You still have to park your car. I think you show the employee your confirmation at the door and wait in a (usually) short line at the kiosk.

A where do you go in the store in E Palo Alto to get a refund for a blind ? Where can you park your car that is close by.

If you park on the second floor there's a loading parking area in front of the exchanges and returns area

Are they letting families with infants skip to the front of the line?

    Why would they do that?

Is it really less people in the afternoon and does it close at 6pm? Or 9pm? TIA

If you download the app and tell it what location you frequent it will tell you when they are busiest/quietest. This is very location dependent.

Is the food place open n can u eat inside?

no. it's closed. however the takeout stand by checkout is open with pizza, soft serve etc.

Does this store provide scooters for people who are not able to walk the entire length of the store?

it provides wheelchairs but not scooters (in my location at least)

What does the line look like on the weekdays? Is there a good day or time to go?

Weekends (Saturday and Sunday) is the worst day to come... Monday or Tuesday is the best

Does this store still close at 6pm Or are they back to 8? Are they accepting returns in store now?

Still closing at 6 pm and when I went today they had a sign in the parking structure that said returns were closed! I did see some people at the returns and exchanges desk inside, though.

Is there a separate line to enter for the frozen food section?

No. Only one line to enter for all shopping. And one separate line upstairs for returns.

Is IKEA open today? I went yesterday at around 6PM, they were closed.

    They close at 6 pm!

Is the frozen food section open during COVID restrictions?

yes. the food section is open

    Is ikea open today?

Open everyday 10am-9pm. Depending on staffing hours could change but they update their local website ikea.us/eastpaloalto and the Ikea app when they do. Def check before coming

Is ikea palo alto open today?

No, they're only open Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday.

Is anyone else having trouble getting the click and collect feature to work for this store, even though online it says they're currently doing it? I've been having such a hard time!…

    Yes it extremely annoying.

Is the East Palo Alto Store still closed?

    Open

He was the one to inform me that a sale was taking place the following day. He was detailed in his overall product explanation and shipping process. This CS experience was key in my purchasing decision. However, the second time I visited with a friend to show her the item and to receive sample color chip, an older Asian male associate William was helping me. I explained the previous experience with the other associate and my interest in purchasing the item. William literally said that I should purchase the item IN STORE as he gets COMMISSION for the sale. I was really uncomfortable with the sales push and his additional descriptions on the item I was already aware of. He pushed me to give up my Herman Miller account information to find out my account details, which I was very reluctant to give. In the end, he sent me a sales quote and firmly told me to order through him, ensuring that stock was available within California and that I would receive my item quickly. Obviously I wished for the previous associate to receive the commission, not him. I left the store really uncomfortable. Fast forward, I ignored the sales quote and decided to order the shelf directly from the DWR website due to my unhappy experience. And behold! My order was rerouted back to this location at Palo Alto, with William cc'ed/hijacked into the order. On the contrary to what William said, my order was shipped directly from the Ohio warehouse (not California), and the two packages of pole and shelves did not arrive together today. I am confused and disappointed at this in store experience of a $500 bookshelf.

Once you get upstairs, the indoor dining area is highly aesthetic, and the outdoor seating is beautiful, too. The only minor downside is that the indoor dining area was a bit loud--not quite what you'd expect for a fancy restaurant, but it wasn't a dealbreaker since we could still easily hold a conversation at our table. Everything that I bought over here this summer is made of 100% cotton in Nepal. I bought some ivory/cream/light beige cotton/linen pants that were so comfortable and flowy. I also bought some pale pink cotton pants - and they feel very neutral in spite of being pastel. I love the "criss cross" opening at the ankles of all the pants that I bought. Very cool! No patterns. Just neutral solid pants. Each pair of pants was about $58 but totally worth it because they're very durable. I wash them on the delicate cycle with just a little bit of gentle detergent, and dry them on a clothes line in the sun (they're dry in less than fifteen minutes). They had lots of white cotton tops; unfortunately none of them were sleeveless or just a wee bit longer sleeves than sleeveless. I'm not a fan of full sleeves in the summer. I made an impulse cashmere shawl purchase on a cold summer night here because it was cold outside and the air-conditioning made the restaurant nearby (Tamarine) feel like the North Pole. It was a neutral ivory/cream color with a super-tiny dark brown herring bone pattern on one side. I like it because if I want a lighter looking shawl, I have the cream or ivory on one side, and if I want a darker looking shawl, I have the dark brown on the other side. A bit spendy at $200 and most definitely not vegan, but I was freezing... I do own a few woolen sweaters and leather shoes, although I really try hard not to buy wool or leather. Cashmere is so, so, so soft and feels so lovely on the skin. Like Sarah Jessica Parker in Sex and the City says about cashmere: it's a cashmiracle! They have some cashmere scarves in neutral solids too. The only downside was that the music was deafening. It made me want to leave the store as soon as possible, instead of staying for hours and trying on some more clothes.
