Atmosphere of the restaurant felt fresh and timeless, tables were beautifully set and felt welcoming. Halfway through my meal though, I noticed that there was a small chip in my blue ribbed water glass, and a bread plate had prominent water stains, which is not what I expected. My review reflects that I didn't like what I ordered as my main. I wouldn't order the Greek Goddess salad again. It was a $26 salad with a lot of canned peas and cold chunks of processed turkey meat. I couldn't finish that part of the salad, and normally, I always eat all my salad. The amount of romaine was very skimpy. The crispy prosciutto was a disappointment as well: very small pieces and as far as I could tell, mixed with pickled shallot, so I couldn't even tell it was proscuitto. I am glad I was given the option of lemon vinaigrette instead of the dressing it normally came with (our server was kind enough to check: it was made with mayonnaise and sour cream rather than yoghurt). My husband enjoyed his sesame-ginger salad. The popovers were good, especially with the whipped strawberry butter and warm cup of consummé. Our server said the popovers weren't made in house, and they didn't taste fresh out of the oven (just a tad dry), but they were still delightful. The truffle fries were good, too. This is my favorite place for lunch in North Dallas. The food is always consistent. It's pretty straightforward and always well executed. The popover and consommé are what you come to Mariposa for... it's an elegant welcome. I'm always taken care of by JJ who is a terrific server. He helps elevate the experience. Amazing... Trying to put into words what a great experience this was! And I can't seem to find the right words to describe! Took my 11 yo daughter to have special lunch here and she was tickled pink to get the vegetable penne (on the kids menu)! I also let her choose a drink, and she got the ginger beer which she claimed was 'very gingery!' The popovers were being baked when we arrived so we had to wait a bit before we got them but man! So Worth The Wait. Just like everyone says, the strawberry butter has you licking your lips and the little cup of consommé ... the perfect touch. From the reviews, I got the NM Burger and boy, those reviews were right, one of the juiciest burgers I've ever had. And they cooked it to your preference - for me that was medium rare. The truffle fries kinda stole the show... light little crispy fries, didn't need ketchup they were seasoned so well. We ended the meal with a dreamsicle slice of cake, recommended by our waiter. Great location for our Lunch Bunch. The restaurant is conveniently located on the third floor of Neiman Marcus at Willow Bend. I loved that. I could make reservations on open table. App We sat in a wonderful little booth and had two servers attending to us our entire visit. Light but delicious lunch options available. Loved the spiced tea and the chicken salad. I guess my biggest surprise about coming here was how much better this location is then the Northpark mall location. And just so you know I was comparing apples to apples I ordered the exact same thing at both locations. I ordered the cheeseburger meal which came with french fries. The burger here was cooked perfectly and you would not even know it was supposed to be the exact burger I had ordered it was The exact same burger that I had ordered at Northpark. The one at Northpark was dry and overcooked and almost ruined me from ever ordering a burger at Neiman Marcus again. One bite into this burger and I was glad that I had ordered one again. I had great experience with Mariposa NorthPark so was excited about taking my husband to Mariposa near our house. The complimentary chicken broth and the pop over breads are always so good but the main dishes were not that great. Ordered the soufflé and finger sandwiches but an orange jello pudding came out. Knew the sandwiches were pre-made because the bread were cold and soggy. I asked the waiter if we ordered from the kids menu because I was so confused. My husband was so disappointed. Truffle fries were cold. Sandwich NM Club I believe, meat & cheese were so cold. Y'all need to get Adriana back. This is closer but will have to go to NP or dowtown now. That is a shame. Food was very delicious especially the strawberry butter with the popovers, but have to give two stars for the worst service ever. Took 15 minutes before they took our orders and multiple tables around us had to wave down the staff too. Also took 10 minutes of us having to wave down staff to get our checks at the end. No apologies/explanations or even eye contact, just grabbed our cards without even giving us our check to look at. The staff seems to have their eyes glued to the floor to blatantly ignore the customers attempts to get any service around here. Literally watched one waitress wipe down and organize 6 menus over the course of 10 minutes. Worst service I have ever experienced. It is not worth spending 30+ dollars per person when getting food and the check is like pulling teeth and the staff would rather do mundane tasks like straighten the plates than take your order. read more

This has always been a special lunch spot, but I guess I just chose the wrong entree this time. Yes, popovers, strawberry butter and service were still wonderful. But I just chose a very disappointing trio salad. The chicken salad was dry but still good, egg salad ok but quite mayonnaise-y, but the tuna was so dark it looked like liver. Really for the price,they could at least use white tuna instead of the cheaper dark stuff I avoid. The cappuccino was delivered barely warm and so weak, there was no coffee flavor at all. Wow! This was such a special lunch!I wanted to take mother for a grilled pemiento cheese and tomato soup. We normally go to North Park but this place is the bomb. I usually have to wait for a table and fight for a server, but not here. Our amazing waitress, Arriana, was perfection! The grilled cheeses and soups were fabulous and Arriana convinced us to try the chocolate cream pie, which was to for for! Mariposa is the ladies who lunch restaurant for this Willow Bend location of Neiman Marcus. While I generally prefer to shop at the Northpark location of NM because of the larger contemporary selection, I far prefer to dine here than at NM Cafe at NP. Mariposa is fabulous, all around. First of all, I always find service impeccable. They have truly mastered the art of fine detail, all around. This could also be because Willow Bend/this Neiman's is, in general, notoriously less crowded than Northpark -- but whatever the reason, you will be pampered. Like NM Cafe, the menu changes at good intervals of time but I am almost sure you can't go wrong here. On various occasions, I and my female dining companions have had many of their composed salads, which, while light, are quite large, and always delicious. I have also had many of their main selections -- salmon paillard is a favorite. I find they are consistently wonderful and the chefs do a lovely job of crafting dishes with a unique mixture of flavors. Definitely make sure you look at their specials (usually a menu in the center of the table) because they are always some of the best! If you are going all out with your lunch meal, the soups are always good. No matter the meal I am always a fan of going for dessert, the menu of which changes often but my bet is always on their creme brulee. Oh my gosh, I almost forgot to mention one of the best things...the POPOVERS. Mmm...these are like big puffs of heaven. I almost always stay away from carbs/bread baskets but I will have two or three of these, no joke. They are served piping hot from the oven with Neiman's signature strawberry butter. Be prepared to fall in love, because you will... The restaurant is beautifully lit naturally by the many high ceiling windows and I find it far more spacious and refreshing (especially from all that stressful shopping) than NM Cafe. It's pretty, feminine, and contemporary inside. It's totally worth the few extra miles up the Tollway to come lunch at Mariposa. Plus, afterwards, just hop skip and a jump away...you can hit up Chanel! read more

My sister chose this place for a special lunch in celebration of my upcoming baby...While I appreciate the gesture and all the hype she brought with it, it was just OK. The calamari appetizer was probably one of the worst I have ever had. There was no meat to the calamari, just thin and chewy pieces of what should be calamari meat wrapped in batter and fried...huge disappointment! The popover and strawberry butter was pretty good, but I didn't come to eat a popover. For my main entree I ordered the Chicken Paillard with quinoa and mixed veggies. I'm sorry, for that price my chicken should be cooked perfectly. Not in this case, my chicken was dry and over cooked. There was hardly any flavor to the dish at all, as a matter of fact, the only flavor I got was from the sun dried tomatoes. My friends ordered some salads (2 out of 3 enjoyed their salads while one did not) our cousin who ordered the steak sandwhich was not impressed either. For dessert we all shared creme brulee (fantastic! about the only thing that saved this meal) bread pudding (was Ok) and carrot cake (I've had better) The place is cute, but just because it's inside Neiman Marcus doesn't make it a stand out place to eat. My daughter and I dine here relatively often because Willowbend is my fave and I also love Neiman's. It is what Nordstrom used to be 20 years ago. Anyway, I digress. Our Christmas tradition is to eat here for lunch Christmas Eve while we do last minute shopping. We have been doing this now for 12 years. I love the consomé and Yorkshire pudding. Their chicken salad and mandarin orange soufflé is classic and I get it almost always unless they have something special going on. This last time they had lobster on the menu but they ran out. Lunch will cost you around $60-70 for two but the experience to me is worth it. read more

I asked our waiter Reid Beck , whom my wife and I have have known for years, what made the difference moving from good to amazing? Reid's answer was their new Chef, Avner Samuel! My wife and I know Chef Samuel from other local restaurants and he has "turned it up to 11" incorporating his new menu! Do yourself a favor: go to Mariposa, turn off your phone, ask for one of Reid Beck's tables, ask for one of Chef Samuel's new menu additions and enjoy with your significant other or best of friends with an ice tea, cocktail, wine or Champagne! Greg was highly professional,knowledgeable,and extremely cooperative in helping me plan this Shower! Also coordinating with Chef Rob Olivera,a delicious marinated chicken breast with field greens,braised asparagus,shaved fennel and Boursin cheese was created especially for our Shower! The service was impeccable! Attention to every detail was made! It was a wonderful experience to plan this beautiful shower at Mariposa! The fresh popovers and strawberry butter is a great treat, anytime. I love the salads and the mandarin souffle. The dish is perfect for the person who would rather have dessert than an actual meal.
