Loved Ikea when I lived in NJ. So glad its here in San Antonio. Great place to wander around on a hot day, grab an inexpensive lunch, and get my steps in, while checking out all the cool stuff. A few minor issues: found a very sturdy, inexpensive ($19) coat rack in a room display, didn't have a clue where to actually find one to buy. Since I was there on a weekday afternoon , the cafeteria was not well stocked. Would be nice to have a prepared to order sandwich counter during off hours. Wish the frozen food in the grocery area had cooking directions and USA nutritional charts. Thrilled I can buy the Ikea crepes close to home. I've missed them. The ginger cookies are great, thin, not too sweet and very crispy. read more

Good store but returns and customer service questions are VERY difficult. There is only 1 person in the entire store that can approve order cancellations, so it's long wait times. Really to have one single person trained and capable is not a good business practice, especially in helping customers in this COVID environment and with increased on line ordering. read more

Friendly staff, very convenient. We've been to ILEA before and this was just as we expected. It's a maze but it's fun and great prices.

Super cool if you've never been, it's kid friendly so that's a HUGE plus! Cafeteria style food is actually pretty darn good, if your into bubbly sodas they have some prettyrad fresh flavors! I will say if you're going to buy furniture do your research and pretty much be willing to put together anything you're going to buy! also if you're going to buy something large you'll probably need a man to help you unload it once you get home, the kids are pretty friendly about loading it for you when you're there! but if you're looking for a day out and just rolling around for some fun things for the house or just want to place for your kids to hang out while you grab a cup of coffee totally a great place to go! read more

This IKEA is great! I don't understand all of the negative reviews for this place. They have maps all throughout the store, and shortcuts incase you want to go back to a section of the store, or want to skip a few sections. They have numerous rooms that show how their furniture and decor can come together, and it gives you countless ideas. They have an endless array of different styles from modern to traditional to country, whatever your preference is you'll find everything you need to furnish your home here. Be prepared, this is going to take a few hours, but it's definitely worth it. And in case you get hungry, they have a cafeteria with lots of great food and it's very reasonably priced. And I if you become obsessed with their food, like I have, you can even buy it to make at home! I highly recommend their meatballs and the lingonberry preserves. Overall, this place is amazing and you should definitely check it out if you need some furniture for your house, or just some new decorations read more

Went today and the workers seemed over done and unhappy. Which I can totally understand.. I left my bag behind since I was juggling two kids and a huge item. There's a huge distance from the checkout to the front door and no one tried to chase me down or give me my bag. Totally my fault though. Had to come back at a later time. Thankfully had my receipt. Had to wait for a manager and he kinda ran around in front of me with no -hey wait a minute I'll be there in a sec- before asking me what I needed. So I was left standing around feeling dumb. However they had it safely set aside, so that was awesome. When I got home noticed all the glass I purchased was made it china, just expected Swedish products . It's cheap and good quality stuff. Absolutely horrible customer service. This was my first time at this store and no one was even around to answer my questions on products. The one item we came in for wasn't even displayed so I could t look at it before buying it. Once we got to the portion of the store to pick up our dresser, an employee packed them all up and took them so we couldn't even buy them. I finally found someone to help and he wasn't helpful at all. No, "you can order online" or "let me help you find something else" pretty much just "tough luck". Since IKEA is so far from me, it's just not an option to come back and shipping was too expensive. Don't think I will be coming back even though it was cheap. read more

Police routed you around in gigantic circle to only wind back up in the same sport 30-40 minutes later. I drove over an hour to get here, never again. Due to the COVID , like many of us I had to make arrangements to work from home . A desk was and still is much needed 4 months later . Unfortunately the order I have been waiting 2 months for (due to extended delivery times with IKEA ) was cancelled the day before it's expected arrival . So yes to my disappointment I have to continue working from a TV dinner tray , until I guess I can roll up My sleeves and build my own desk at this point. They also conveniently changed their call center and contact hrs when this mass email was sent about order cancellations . I assume it was a mass email as no specified information as in order number or the method of payment I used for the order was included in this email. Sadly due to capitalism and the poverty gap the only power I have is to give this company a one star on yelp for this experience knowing I'll probably have to purchase cheap quick furniture from them again in the future. So powerless me will get my money back but my time and hopes have been wasted . Feel so upset and Yelp is my only outlet because what's the point in being passive aggressive with a customer rep about this . My order was cancelled not delayed and I'm sure nothing can be done . I just hope they understand how this impacts millions of people just trying to get by during these times . A desk is a first word issue with all that is going on in this world but that desk would have made life easier for me and my family in these times just trying to hang on to a job to keep a roof over our head . Disappointed but I'm sure the millionaires and 6 figure company heads know we are powerless and a vague impersonal email is all they need to do because like I said capitalism... where else am I going to get a dresser set up for $200. This location appears to have issues with keeping items in stock. Spent a few hours in the store, which is honestly too big and overwhelming. When we got to the end excited to get the furniture items we wanted they didn't have any of the 5-6 items we wanted in stock. Options are very restricted when it comes to ordering or click and collect. The app is just a bad version of the website. read more

Terrible customer service and policies. Buyer beware. I purchased 2 outdoor umbrellas which they brought form another store. I received an email on a Thursday notifying me my order had arrived and was ready for pickup. In the lower part of the email it said I needed to pick it up with 24 hours of notice. I could make it Friday, but went to pick them up Saturday morning. They were put back in store inventory before I received a refund. They said it takes 4-5 days to process a refund. So...if I wanted the umbrellas I had already purchased, I had to buy them again and trust them they would refund the original purchase in 4-5 days. I'm done with IKEA. read more

Loved ikea I'm new to it , the people who worked for them seemed so happy and helpful, I bought a lamp, some baking dishes, and a blanket ladder ! I love the atmosphere , the only down fall was not enough restrooms , they had 5 stalls for women ! You would think the restrooms they would have more than one restroom I attempted to eat at the food court although the lines were long but that's what's expected when it's a brand new establishment so no complaint heavily there. The restaurant servers are lifeless. We've visited this Live Oak IKEA 6 or 7 times now. The servers are the worst I've experienced at any IKEA. The attitude is FELT as you're approaching the serving line. Maybe its how San Antnio people generally are. I've experienced this more often than anyone would ever expect to. When we told the cashier of how rude the servers were, they agreed with us and directed us to a supervisor. The supervisor told my wife, "its impossible to get good people". I couldn't believe what I had just heard. And FYI, the food is not where you want to spend your money. read more

The IKEA itself is like any other ikea around the world. The style is always the same and i found all products that I found in a German ikea or in an Italian Ikea. Such a disappointment! The customer service is so poor. I ordered a bench almost 5 weeks ago because the store was out of stock and it took them 4 weeks (when I was given a delivery date of 2 weeks) just for them to send me a damaged one. The wood was dented and cracked and came in an even more beaten up packaging. I have gone back and forth with customer service every other day being told multiple lies and excuses, such as my package has been lost, my package is out of stock, my package will be delivered in 2 days, my package is discontinued. Every member I speak to tells me they'll reorder my bench, but then the next day I'm told by another member that that's not possible for whatever reason. It seems like none of the staff know what they're talking about, so they make something up to appease me at that moment. I'm extremely frustrated because the only real solution is to get a refund, but that requires me to return the damaged bench. The closest store to me in about an hour away and I'm pregnant and unable to do this. Also, this would leave me with half a dining set. I am yet to receive the truth or a reasonable solution. read more

Sorry I love IKEA but this store is off.. from what I normally receive from IKEA online. This store lacks in customer service, leadership and general interest in their jobs. The customer service is just dysfunctional. Most of my dislikes could be remedied with some coaching and development. Don't kick ur feet up and rely on the IKEAs brand to attract customers bc that's short lived if ur customer service sucks. We visited the IKEA store at 1030am an a Saturday morning. It still was quite busy but finding parking wasn't a problem because there was still police directing traffic. This store seemed bigger than the Round Rock location. The flow of products was similar to all other Ikeas. But my biggest complaint was the playground area for children. Despite being a busy Saturday- management did not make sure that this was properly manned. There was only one person checking in the children and one person letting children out. You can bring your child here if they meet the height requirement and if they are potty trained. Definitely needed someone directing traffic for the checking in and out process so be prepared to wait in line for both. Parents are not allowed in the play area. This can be a good thing and a bad thing. Good if you have older children bad if you have younger children. It would make sense if they can have at least one parent there for their young child. They could wear a bracelet to let them in. Not taken into consideration. My child also had a melt down- understandable for younger children but the staff did not know how to handle this situation. I was paged to come pick up my child about 15 minutes after I dropped him off. And when I got there I still had to stand in line. The person who was letting children out got my buzzer and said that I was not due to pick up my child for another 45 minutes. Apparently there was no communication from the attendants that I was paged to come in earlier. I asked where my child was and was told that he had been in the bathroom and they were not allowed to go in there. Understandable, but after 15 minutes, they should've checked on him. He may have been having a medical emergency and no one checked! Even when I got there they had to get someone else to escort me in. Once that person came they didn't know what to do. So I insisted on calling the manager but they didn't know her number they had to ask someone else. Mary, the manager, got there and they finally let me in. I went to the bathroom to check on my son and he was still crying in the bathroom. Thank goodness it wasn't a medical emergency. I wanted to make a formal written complaint so that the process could be improved but the manager said that I had to go on-line to do that. Of course I did this too and I did tell her to call me back. Which she did. I made a couple of suggestions so I hope that they take this into consideration. I hope the process for the playground gets better when the opening hype dies down. read more
