I honestly didn't know how cheap this place was and the food is pretty good and a hefty portion. 15 meatballs served with mashed potatoes, cream sauce and lingonberries for only $3.99!! That is a deal, they're almost giving it away for free! This portion you can share with another person and still be more that satisfied. I think if I were to eat the whole plate I would be laid out on their IKEA beds! I also had the butternut squash soup and it was delicious, very creamy and smooth! The cafeteria style restaurant and sitting area made it fell like high school all over again! Thank god we were a group of six and we looked like the cool kids ;) Slipping on our elder flower juice... I don't really know what to make of that juice box?? Overall, pretty decent food especially for the price, so it's excellent food! After getting said coupon which contains the purchase amount of the food, you take this coupon with you and if you shop for more than $100 worth of stuff, the food cost is taken off your bill! The Restaurant place has a nice layout and decor - of course IKEA furnished DUH what you expect. The soda machine was broken on onside they had no ice the napkin dispenser thing - such a pain if you need more then one napkin and if you run out you have to walk back up and get it - might as well refill your drink The tables could use a bit more of a wipe down - some people can defiantly clean up after them self They do have a kids section which is a plus if you have kids. The mac and cheese is very good. Fries are delicious as well. Any of the fatty/fried foods are fine. I don't like any of their beverages or other meals they have available. Not worth the calories! Coming to eat here feels a bit like in Demolition Man when Stallone finds out he's going to Taco Bell for dinner. "We're going where?" So there we were, in Ikea, hungry, knowing we'll be there for two more hours and needing sustenance. So in we went to a big-ass cafeteria space, queued up, and ordered our lunch. We both ordered meatballs because the ribs felt like a bit too much, chicken fingers felt strange, and, well, those were the best options. The meatballs fell firmly in the A-Ok spectrum for the price. The soup fell in the "oh my god this is bad" spectrum. And we got a piece of pie dessert, which again was A-Ok. You come here, you expect to get a cheap meal, and you do. Expect nothing, and you'll be fine. The Swedish Chef is not Bork Borking in the back making Hurdy Hurdy meatballs, it's a minimum wager reheating frozen balls by the thousands. Spend a few bucks, get some food, go buy some furniture that will take you hours to assemble, then leave and get a real meal and some beer before opening up that first box. I don't know why...maybe it's the fact that I can get it for cheap, or that I can get SMALL portions if I want, but I really LIKE the Ikea cafeteria. Yes it is a CAFETERIA. I always get the same things: Children's mac and cheese Children's mashed potatoes That's all you need really. The thing is, the food is not AMAZING, but you like the way it smells and you want to taste it. Grossest stuff, ever!!! I call it stuff because food is usually edible. The salad tomatoes were rotten. Everything was cold. I had the veggie balls with whatever slop came with it and soggy green beans. Then I went for the salad and oh my... cherry red tomatoes on the outside and rotten on the inside. Love Ikea, but the food here has caused insurmountable damage to my bathroom and my mental health. The salmon plate, while innocent enough at first, has returned from my boyfriends digestive tract with a vengeance like none I've seen before. I'm talking hours of vomiting and other unmentionables. Being the only thing he ate today, I'd say it's safe to assume the culprit was the salmon or meatballs. The price or the school cafeteria storage methods should have probably tipped us off that it would ruin the day, but we decided to go for the whole Ikea experience. Don't blame the staff, accidents happen and people get terribly sick from time to time. Or it could be the ghost of the salmon acting out it's revenge for us paying for its long dead flesh. Apparently he works for the company. The Liars had told me the hardware would be coming in on the 25th and somebody would be contacting me no one has contacted me yet and I continue urging you in my own little way that is probably not going to amount to a hill of beans to not buy anything from Ikea if it is damaged or missing something you'll go through the same nightmare I'm going through. This IKEA is heavily understaffed. Expect to wait 45 min for food and another 20 min to pay. Expect dirty utensils if there are any at all left and sold out items, dirty tables, broken ice machine. When they're not busy on the other hand the service is faster, but the food is not fresh and sometimes even gross. read more

If you're a IKEA Family member you get a free coffee/tea. Great for a simple meal for not a lot of $$ but menu is pretty standard/same each time so want what they have. Carrots / Meatballs/ Smoked Fish/ Wrap Sandwichs/ Mac n Cheese/ Chicken Fingers/ Salad Bar/ dessert cakes. It's easy to look like a total pig here with many plates - everything is cheap. Personal favorites: lentil soup, mashed potatoes, and BROCCOLI MEDALLIONS. Not great for vegetarians! Bus your own dishes to the convenient stacking areas to keep prices low! (I get so mad when people don't clean up after themselves - it's pretty clear what you're supposed to do, and I just told you, so no excuses!) read more

Food is still the same but the portions have gotten smaller. Some of the workers have major attitude problem such as the older middle aged lady working the cash register. She was complaining to everyone that pay with cash about not having exact payment since she was too lazy to count change to them and also people paying by card if their card took too long to go through. The young lady behind the food counter in charge of the side dishes should be complemented as she was fair and handled well an unruly customer who refused to get back on line when wanted to place another order after his family had finished placing their orders. That customer and his family of 9 members should have been kicked out by security as it took them forever to place their orders and then kept going back to place another order. 2017 update: This restaurant has gone downhill. They are always out of main dishes, the condiment area is so messy as to be unsanitary, and the unbused tables are an eyesore (ok, shoppers are meant to bus their own tables, but not all do). I used to enjoy the fun of coming here to eat, but now I'd only do so if I were starving and on the verge of fainting of hunger. Prices have gone up and an adult/child can no longer eat for under $10. Original review: Let convenience reign. If you're here already because you are shopping and need a bite to eat then great, here you go. The salmon and chicken tenders are a safe bet. My 2 yr old loves the fries and mac & cheese. Vegetables are always overcooked. I've never tried the meatballs. The real question: where else can you eat a full meal for under $10? The dining area is generally overcrowded on weekends so stay away. Highchairs and surfaces tend to be grubby. Overtaxed employees attempt to keep things clean but can't keep up with the many families eating there. I ordered a salad and then had to wait 10 minutes for a staff member to get around to refilling the salad dressing. And trust me, I got plenty of attitude. I also had to wipe down my own table and my child's highchair. After eating, you bus your table as well. A plaque on the wall says that the more you do, the less expense Ikea incurs and passes on to you, the consumer. You truly get what you pay for here. And if you're coming with kids, there are play areas that give them a place to let their energy loose while you're finishing your meal. read more

Ok yes....my friends are I are genuinely excited to visit Ikea's Restaurant because the food is GOOD! and its cheap!!! It's actually the highlight of my visit each time I'm here.... Even though I've gone back to my pescotarian self.... I still have very fond memories of their yummy meatballs...which I always asked for extra lingonberry sauce!! its soooo good.... Their mashed potatoes are great....mac/cheese.... yum..... sauteed veggies are always crisp/bright.....(love that they mix in yellow carrots:).. salads are fresh.....and I adore their desserts... the almond/chocolate cake... & apple cake are soo good....perfect to share....(even though I dont....lol)....And even though I don't have kids.... I appreciate all of the options they have for them..... I love that you are eating on proper dishes...and using real flatware...not plastic plates/styrofoam containers.... There is something special about that....it makes it feel more like home..and that you're being served with dignity....and not being fed crap food and rushed out like cattle....the staff are always around cleaning up......and most people are very courteous about cleaning up after themselves.... If I lived nearer to this IKEA...I'd come more often for the food!...seriously.... (did I mention the fries are reallly good?!!!!!!) The food is good, but the place is disorganized and filthy. I believe the cafeteria is understaffed, so I do not blame the employees. I blame management and anyone in a supervisory position (real supervisory position). I don't know what's wrong here, but you can feel that something is not right. Why not have garbage cans so that we can at least bring our trays to somewhere. As another Yelper mentioned, the milk and half and half dispenser is gross and seems broken. The half and half I had was turned, but I wasn't going to ask for a refund. It's not worth putting these cashiers through the wringer. You can walk into a place and know immediately if it is well-managed and if employees are treated well. This place is a disgrace. It's heartbreaking to see this atmosphere. I'll live from having turned half and half and from witnessing filth, but what about the employees? What's going on? This is a place that could use an "Undercover Boss" intervention. Inexpensive food for good quality. I particularly liked their veggie meat balls, it's a great addition to their menu. When you're hungry after spending all day shopping for cheap furniture, what's better than eating at their cafeteria. Prices are very low for what they serve. I was the fifth person in line but had to wait 10 minutes given that the staff seemed to enjoy taking their time and not serve anybody food. The lady who finally served me food didn't really care and pretty much slopped it onto the plate. I've always been a fan of IKEA food. The Swedish meatballs has always been one of my favorites. I would highly recommend buying a bag of frozen meatballs from their marketplace. I think a bag of Swedish meatballs are $9.99 now. They're easy to prepare and my son loves them. The lingonberry sauce is sweet and tasty but I wouldn't buy a jar of the sauce to go. It's a good sauce, I just don't find myself using that sauce often enough at home. At the cafeteria, a little dab of it is just fine. I do however enjoy the lingonberry beverage that is available the fountain. Without ice, it taste a little like watered down wine. With ice, it taste like ice cold gatorade. It's not carbonated and the level of sweetness of this drink is perfect. I would figure the drink would be as sweet as their sauce but it's not. My most recent favorite dish in the IKEA cafeteria would be their cured salmon salad. I can eat this thing all day. It's so refreshing. The salad and it's sauce compliments the salmon so well. It's savory and does not leave a fishy smell in your breath afterwards. The meal is very delightful and I plan on learning how to make this salmon at home. I also ordered a side of french fries and macaroni and cheese. The fries were pretty legit. They weren't soggy at all. As for the mac n cheese, the scoop I got on my plate was small! I looked at the person next to me who also ordered mac and cheese and he got a plateful! I was pretty disappointed in that. Verdict - Furniture shopping and good school cafeteria style food. Sounds awful but it's like good grade school/hospital food. I think that's the best way I could put it. It's nothing fancy obviously, but for what it's worth, I think the food is decent. The food at ikea is completely delicious! They have a wide variety of choices, but my favorite is the classic Swedish meatballs. Served with lingonberry jam, mashed potatoes, and gravy, this dish is just so comforting and never fails to please me. However, the lines were insufferable! It was so long and there were only 2 cashiers for the hundreds of people anticipating their food. Also the servers were very unhappy and were aggressive when plating my meal, so everything was kind of mushed together. Overall everything tastes great and I would definitely recommend eating here, but be prepared to wait in a long line! read more

OMG this is the worst in terms of actually getting something to eat or drink.. I go to Ikea during the week to avoid the crazy crowds and even then the line in the restaurant is out of control and to make matters worse, Ikea has only one employee dishing out food and one cashier. So you can spend 30 mins waiting to get your food, (even if you only want the salad you can't get to it because of the other people in line ) and another 30 mins just waiting to pay the cashier. On top of that, the employees they do have working, move in slow motion. I can say the same thing for the service at the ice cream/pizza stand where you check out. Customers are lined up forever and there is one staff person taking orders and one guy who is making up the food. The guy making the food was slow as molasses in january. Customers are piling up. No napkins. no ketchup. I really don't like ikea for so many reasons and this is another reason. Ikea doesn't give a damn about customers. Customers can line up forever to buy a cup of coffee or a couch, and Ikea will not lift a finger to help out or make it a more pleasant experience for the customer. read more

Absolutely horrendous. I ordered a PAX wardrobe to be delivered to my home. After waiting over a week they forgot to include the divider, which means all the other parts are useless. The delivery service is no help, the email correspondence can take up to 5 days and the phone number isn't working. After about 20 times trying to call I get through only to face a 75 MINUTE WAIT TIME!!! No option for a call back, nope, I have to wait on hold for over an hour!
