I love IKEA food, but this location is kind of meh. The plantains were cold and mushy, though you could tell they were probably good freshly cooked. There were still some crunchy bits, but inconsistently. Also, some were kind of bitter. The cornbread is dry around the edges, but nice and moist in the middle. They should probably cover the tray to help preserve the moisture. Plant balls are delicious, but the ratio of jam to gravy is totally off loll they'll give you SO much jam and skimp on the gravy :[ I didn't see any tea when I went, and it was too late in the day for coffee, so there wasn't much point in getting a mug. I will say they renovated the cafeteria seating areas and there are a lot more tables now! read more

I dined here today for lunch and they really need to do better with the cleanliness of their dishes. First, the first knife I grabbed from the clean utensils bin had caked on old food on it. Then, by the registers, literally three "clean" coffee cups that I grabbed were all soiled and unclean. I put those back in the rack, facing up, so the dirtiness was visible to others, and the cashier got agitated and immediately grabbed them and put them in the back. I like the food and eat here regularly and this is the first time I have had this issue although there have frequently been issues where the dining area itself has been not clean enough. Ikea really needs to do better at the restaurant. read more

You can treat this place like many treat Starbucks and just do your remote work here. Fully charge your devices first though because I don't know if they have any place to plug in. There's WiFi, though I didn't try it. It's spacious and it's got a nice view. The food is affordable compared to many other restaurants nearby but you are getting cafeteria food. I'd get sick of it really quick if it's everyday but every now and then, those meatballs really hit! The drinks are cheap and free refills until you leave. During the day, it's fairly quiet but there can be many noisy kids once you get into the afternoon. The bathrooms are nice because they are completely separated and unisex. They seem to be kept clean and you can drop a deuce with minimal embarrassment. They even provide tampons and pads in case of emergency. Love that! We had so much fun today at the IKEA in Emeryville. We went to the Midsomer celebration. They close the restaurant at 4 o'clock to prepare for a 6 o'clock opening. They had decorations on the table Little maypoles and little Swedish flags and the buffet was amazing. They had so many of my favorite Swedish delicacies. The dessert area was phenomenal and that strawberry cake was delicious. The cashier Carl was so nice and gave such great service. Everybody was just so happy there. The service was great. I hadn't been to IKEA in ages, but we decided it would be a fun trip for the whole family to grab inspo and of course also stop at the restaurant for a yummy, cost-friendly, comforting, and quick/fast-paced meal. We ordered the classic Swedish meatballs (12 Piece) entrée for 11.49 ~ Served with Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, Peas and Lingonberry Jam. Oh! And the soup of the day (mushroom). There's also near checkout downstairs a Swedish Bistro with pizza, hot dogs, ice cream, and a dry goods/frozen section to pickup any additional items before checkout. Large open space for sitting/enjoying mid-shopping experience, and high chairs for the littles. I noticed they have these really cool food carts to place your items in, and people were ordering all sorts of items including salads, sandwiches, and desserts. They don't serve alcohol, but their Lingonberry juice is delicious. All in all, it does the job in a unique way, solidifying the IKEA trip with a bow. The froyo upon exiting the store is a cool treat, and everyone is just so friendly. We will def do it again next time we're in Emeryville! read more

It was a warm day and frozen treat was deserved. We stopped by IKEA in Emeryville to grab the $1.75 ice cream cone. The first floor area had way less people and ordering was by kiosk. It was quick to order and quick to get our order. I think it was less than 5 min total. There were chairs set up nearby to sit and enjoy the treat. The strawberry part of the swirl was watered down because it was more icy than ice cream. I think I'll stick with the original cone next time. read more

The IKEA restaurant is located on the 2nd floor near the kids bedroom area. It's cafeteria style. The line starts with 2 windows of their desserts (not fair!) It was tempting, but we opted for a tin of gingerbread cookies on display next to the line. They serve inexpensive hot meals that actually tastes good. The dining room is self-seating. It's very spacious, but does get crowded on weekends. What we had: + Swedish meatballs meal - this is their most famous meal. The meatballs are super tender, served with mashed potatoes and veggies. The lingonberry jam goes so well with the meatballs and gravy. + Salsa Verde chicken - doesn't sound very Swedish, but it was quite good. The chicken fell off the bones. It's served with rice and beans and plantains. + Gingerbread cookies in round tin - These are heart-shaped, thin, crispy and so addicting. So good, it was hard to stop. Overall, breakfast prices were reasonable. Their chicken strip combo did increase. It comes with fries and a drink and it's $13.99 which is pretty expensive. I have been a loyal IKEA customer for years, but shame to say I have never eaten at their restaurant. That finally changed on 08/10/2024 when my family and I stopped by to have lunch here. This place totally reminded me of a college cafeteria, with lots of tables and foot traffic. It's always crowded, and our visit was no exception. At around 2:15pm, it was almost completely full. Fortunately, my brother spotted an open table and grabbed it quickly. After asking what my family wanted, I proceeded to the food line. It was long but moved swiftly. I ended getting four items - Swedish meatballs, salmon plate, pulled pork sandwich, and Stockholm salad. The total was a reasonable $43. We all thought the food was good. My mom is a light eater and she really enjoyed the salmon plate. My brother and I shared the rest and we liked them as well. My interaction with the staff was good. They were friendly and helpful. The joy of grabbing a meal at IKEA while shopping is over. They've removed most of the tables. They've gone to compostable plates, flatware, and cups. Eating off paper with paper is more of a bad high school cafeteria experience. I seriously doubt that composting thousands of paper products is in any way more sustainable than washable plates, cups, and cutlery. Sad face dining. Ikea, you've lost me. I had a Too Good to Go order so I had like $20 worth of food for $6, which I thought was pretty fair! Like all TGTG orders I don't get to choose my food but they were pretty generous with the variety and portions. Food is overall fine, nothing super stand out but good flavor for what it is! I especially enjoyed the veggie balls and Mac and Cheese. But if I were paying normal prices for it idk if I would feel like it was worth it. Feels a little underseasoned. The food choices, as well as their dining / seating area here seemed a bit limited / smaller compared to their Palo Alto location - it is probably because their Emeryville store is their less busy location. I was looking forward to their Salmon Filet, but it was not available on this particular visit, so I ended up getting their Garlic Lemon Cod, which comes with mashed potatoes / gravy and peas. The cod was good, but I would had prefer their salmon - I did like the mashed potatoes / gravy and peas that was paired with the cod though over the usual side / veggie pairing with the salmon. I also ordered a side of Mac and Cheese as well, but it tasted a bit artificial with barely any cheese taste and it was pretty plain. read more

I love this place. It has a nice view of the freeway/ocean. Really nice place to chill. Free coffee for Ikea members. Food is great. Especially if it's half off. Self service fountain drinks is always a plus in my book. They have bbq/ketchup/ranch sauce. No container for it so just put it on your plate. Speaking of coffee, i really like their coffee. I drink mine black and it's not bitter. Sometimes they have hints of fruit. I'm no coffee expert/lover but i appreciate a good cup of coffee. Anyways love seating near the windows. So, I had to try it out for myself. Swedish Meatballs: I had to try their signature dish and I was not disappointed. I meatballs were delicious. Though I can see how itself may not be as flavorful and standard, but the gravy sauce and jam helped enhanced it. It made the meatball delicious to me. The potatoes and veggies were a nice complement to the dish and I had to have my Texas toast with it. Overall, I really liked this. The side salad is just your standard salad so won't say much. Apple Dessert: It was cold and crispy. The apple flavor did pack its way through. A nice way to end my meal. Overall, I did enjoy my time here at the restaurant. The service was nice and welcoming. This review is for a visit in March 2021 after indoor dining opened up. We made a trip to IKEA and decided to stop by for lunch. They are limiting indoor dining, and you can either use a QR code to put your name on the waitlist, or put your name on the waitlist with the staff there. I scanned the QR code and filled out my name, cell # and # in my party. Soon after, I received a confirmation text. We browsed items nearby and I soon received another text letting us know our table was ready. We were led to our table and given instructions (namely, to wear our masks once away from our table, and to leave our dishes and everything at the table after rather than bussing the table ourselves). They provided two high chairs for my toddlers and my husband went off to order. We all had the same meal--Swedish meatballs with mashed potatoes and broccoli (kiddie meals for the toddlers, regular meals for husband and me.) The food was delicious, and the plates and utensils were compostable. It was a beautiful day out and we had a table by the window, so we really enjoyed our meal, so much that we stopped by on our way out to buy frozen meatballs to enjoy at home. read more

I never knew food could be so good at a furniture store. This is inexpensive food at a place that sells inexpensive furniture. I have eaten at IKEA restaurants in the past and got the Swedish Meatballs which I always thought tasted bland. This time I decided to try a couple of other entrees which truly outshined the Swedish Meatballs. For my drink I got Apple Cider which has Alc 0.1% vol. I was surprised it had any alcohol in it at all. It paired well with all of the dishes ordered. IKEA also sells these in packs if you want to take some for home. I added a side of two slices of garlic bread for 99 cents. The bread was soft and had a nice hint of garlic flavor. A great use for it was to soak up the sauce from the dishes. The Swedish Meatballs costed $5.99 and I added four extra meatballs for $1.00. The Swedish Meatballs taste bland and dry. The gravy really helps with flavor and moistens the Swedish Meatballs. The Braised Pork Shank was juicy and tender. The meat fell right off the bone. This meal costed $8.99. It came with mashed potatoes and roasted root vegetables. The roasted root vegetables were sweat and savory. The Salmon Fillet was my favorite dish out of the three. The Salmon Fillet costed $7.99. It was light and felt healthy to eat. As the sides it came with seasoned broccoli and vegetable medallion. The broccoli was okay. The vegetable medallion was crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. The hollandaise sauce is really what makes the dish. It was a creamy sauce that complimented the Salmon Fillet well. read more

Stopped by IKEA before heading to watch Like A Boss at AMC. Decided to eat at the restaurant since it's been awhile. The ribs were gone but they had a pork shank that looked good so I decided to get it. Can I just say it was fall off the bone amazing? The broth the pork shank, green beans and mashed potatoes was in was hearty though there was a layer of oil. I wasn't that hungry when I got to IKEA but I ended up eating the whole thing! I'm also an IKEA Family member (free) so I also got a mug for free Lipton tea (you can also choose coffee). Plenty of seating and line moves quickly. One, there seems to be no fountain drinks left, which means you have to buy bottled water instead of refilling (ugh). Two, what happened to soup? Or like, more hot plate options?
