Great food options for vegan and non vegans. First time here and it won't be our last! Leaving this review for other foodies that want to try great Japanese food with a cute open ambiance and friendly service! Have a pleasant surprised this new spot is! Located in mineola and there is plenty of parking !

The restaurant itself is very clean and nicely decorated, and the sushi bar area is a cute touch. Since they're relatively new, the space feels fresh and inviting. Food-wise, it was a mixed experience. I ordered the Create Your Own Udon with shoyu broth and fatty beef. The beef was excellent. It's tender, flavorful, and probably my favorite thing we ordered. Unfortunately, the broth was extremely salty. I normally enjoy salty foods, but this was too much even for me. The Samurai Chicken Meatballs weren't for me. They had a strong ginger flavor that I wasn't expecting, and the texture/flavor combination felt a bit unusual. The Chicken Teriyaki Bowl was decent and the chicken was cooked well, but it was also on the salty side. For drinks, the Taro Dream Boba wasn't sealed properly. When I inserted the straw, the drink spilled out from the side because part of the seal wasn't fully attached. The Summer Lovin' Tea was overwhelmingly sweet, and there didn't appear to be an option to adjust sweetness when ordering. Overall, while the restaurant looks great and some items showed promise, the food was generally too salty and the drinks were disappointing. Personally, I probably won't be returning anytime soon, especially with so many strong Japanese restaurants nearby.

I had been meaning to try some of the food here, but my friend and I were already full and just wanted to stop by to see what they had. We ended up sharing a matcha strawberry shake, and it was very fluffy--I loved it. Honestly, it tasted more like a parfait. I think it technically was more of a parfait than a shake, just whipped really nicely. Even though we were already full, it didn't feel heavy or like a burden to finish. It was easy to share and just really enjoyable. The atmosphere around this place is also great. It feels traditional and high-tech at the same time. The mix of neon lights and the wooden aesthetic is peak Japanese coolness. We definitely want to come back and actually order food like ramen, but for now, I want to give this place its flowers and five stars based on my overall impression and the dessert I had.

Stopped in after the 7th street Burger experience because my friends wanted to stop in. This is a very attractive business with two section inside, I'm thinking, hot food and sushi rolls are in the rear section and it he front section would be street food, parfaits, and bobas. I requested the matcha parfait, minus whip cream and I requested very little cinnamon toast crunch but it appears as if it was filled from the bottom to the top, top to the bottom. It had more toast crunch than a little bit. I think you get the message by now, moving on! It was not enjoyable, the matcha was almost non existent and almost warm. I ate what I could and threw the rest away. Customer service was really great except for the request for less crunch. I'm really indecisive on returning to try something else! Inspire more, yelp more!

Ikedo has arrived in Mineola! Their Coming Soon sign was posted for many months before they actually opened, so the anticipation was fierce! It's a really lovely space! Nicely decorated; with a casual yet upscale feel to it! There are two kinds of seating: 1). For a more casual meal (or takeout), order at the kiosks or at the counter. There are plenty of seating for self serve meals in front of the restaurant. 2). For Table service, head towards the back of the restaurant, towards the Sushi bar. I went there for a quick takeout order. This is what I ordered: -- Pork Katsu w.curry Donburi ($16): the Pork Katsu came on top of a bed of rice, and the curry sauce came in a separate container. I appreciated the separate packaging that kept the pork Katsu fresh & crispy, until I got home. Really tasty meal! -- Chicken Karrage (complimentary): this was fantastic!! Dare I say, I enjoyed this even more than the Pork Katsu w.curry?! Go figure! It was a very generous portion (about 4 large pcs), came with a dipping sauce, and was just delicious. They are running a Grand Opening Special: free chicken karrage or gyoza with entree ($14+) purchase. Get this while you can! Customer service was warm and friendly. Service was pretty quick! I got my takeout meal within 10 min. Parking: plenty of free parking since they're located in a small shopping plaza. If the main lot is full, there is also a larger lot across the street. Looking forward to a return visit to explore Ikedo's menu!

A new ramen shop opened up in Mineola and we had to go check it out. Located in a strip mall next to Chipotle, Panera, MÓGŪ, a pizzeria and 7th street burger is Ikedo. Ambience: Walking in, the restaurant is separated into two parts. The front of the restaurant is set up like fast casual I.e. Chipotle, where you order the food, find a table and are served food in To Go containers. The back of the restaurant is a large sushi counter with sit down service, plates and silverware. Food: We ordered: Chicken Kaarage - pieces of fried boneless chicken thigh. 4/5 Curry Katsu - fried pork chop with curry sauce on the side. The pork chop was a little dry. 4/5 Steak Appetizer - flavorful and tender slices of steak. 4/5 Tuna Party - a set of hand rolls made right in front of you. This was the highlight of the meal. The rice was hot right out of the rice cooker. You are presented with one roll at a time. 5/5 Tipping is optional as they have a no tipping policy.

Was looking for a lunch alternative to some of the other ramen shops in the area & stumbled upon Ikedo by accident. I love their ordering kiosk, the staff was friendly, the ramen was phenomenal & the price beats those other spots. Been back again since

Chasu pork string i almost ate( my daughter might had ate it without even knowing).

I went there with my two young kids for dinner. It was like self service so you have to look for your own table and it was a bit difficult because seating is limited there. We ordered on the kiosk and it didn't applied the BOGO drink which then i saw a promotion sign later which was disappointment. I ordered a ramen and my order came out wrong so the lady took it back and i guess just take out the ingredients and put the right ones in? Because the pork were the same two piece( btw pork chasu color looked grey) and good thing we don't have any allergy imagine if we do and are allergic to any and they just serve you the same bowl. Then later on as i was chewing the pork i was like how come this part is so chewy and spitted out and noticed it was whole bunch of strings. On the positive side the beef donburi rice bowl was tasty but for $16 i was expecting a little more rice? It was a thin layer with meat on top. But it was tasty. Also there was an event there so maybe they prioritized the event more than the usual customers so the food wasn't as intended i assumed? Might give it another try on a different day without any event happening in there.

I have come into this location before I got the Mango Madness Boba drink. I also then got dumplings. The drink was delicious the last time I was here, but the dumplings were cold when they came out. The manager came over and fixed it for us. I have never taken out and have only eaten in at this location. I'm now back again, and I decided to get the mango drink once more and the Ikedo fried rice with added on chicken. Unfortunately, the Mango Madness Boba drink is watery and unfortunately, I'm not the only one to think that. As I was looking at the menu earlier before ordering, another customer told them that his drink was way too watery as well and that it didn't taste right at all. Seems that there's an issue here. The Ikedo fried rice looks better on the menu than it is. The rice has mushrooms in it and I love mushrooms, but unfortunately, the entire thing tastes of an odd, unappetizing and overpowering mushroom flavor. It doesn't even taste like fried rice at all. There was hardly any chicken in it as well and I had to ask the manager for more. She was skeptical and I told her I could show her my fried rice or we could just not go back-and-forth about it, and after that interaction, she gave me some more chicken. Unfortunately though even the chickens tasted off - like plastic a bit... As you can see in the photos, I kind of drowned the entire dish in Katsu sauce and bang bang sauce to get rid of the weird mushroom and plastic chicken flavors. Unfortunately, they tried, but it just missed the mark. Hoping the location will see this and do something about all of this.

Owned by another fantastic Japanese couple where the husband used to deliver the best picks of fresh fish and seafood to award winning and Michelin starred restaurants all across NYC. The space was upgraded a bit and thankfully they still retained the chef who handles the back kitchen and still deliciously creates and beautifully plates all their traditional Japanese hot dishes (please bring back the chawanmushi though!). Menu is a bit more scaled down from what it was but still all delicious and price point for it all is perfect. This spot is worthy enough to come to every day or to LIRR in from the city to eat at. Sad to not see master Kikumatsu at the helm of the sushi bar and Kyoko chan to greet you as you walk in but the new owners are as warm and as great too! Must go repeatedly!

We enjoyed our dinner thoroughly and will be back for the miso black cod and hamachi kama next time. Dinner for 4, no drinks, about $200 all in, more than fair, about 35% less than the same experience in Manhattan. Looking forward to coming back, just to see Mr. K., oh and the sushi is great too.

The waitstaff were attentive and helpful. Only complaint about the setting is that every time someone went in or out, a rush of cold air would enter. Try not to sit too close to the door. As far as the food, daughter and I just ordered soon dubu (soft tofu stew) and ddukbokki (spicy rice cakes). We're Korean so flavor profile wise, it seemed to cater to non Korean palates. The soon dubu was not spicy and had too much of a sesame oil flavor and the ddukbokki was sweet with no spiciness at all. I think if you are non Korean, the seasoning was good and the food flavorful, just not the flavors we were expecting. Also, although the menu makes it seem like you have to pay for the banchan (appetizers), we did not, it came with the staple kimchee, and a couple other dishes. Not sure why they had prices on the menu unless they charge for refills? They also gave us this yummy ice cream bite for dessert which is usually unheard of in Korean restaurants. Having said all this, I do want to recommend this place, it was a nice local restaurant to get some Asian dishes with a great waitstaff.
