American Home Shield (AHS) assigned Ikmar to my garbage disposal replacement request. Three weeks later, the job is still not done. Ikmar did not have the expertise to repair or replace my hardwired unit. They did not explain why my existing electrical outlet is not sufficient. They delayed submitting a report to AHS for over two weeks, so there is still no estimate for completion, nor has Ikmar been proactive in making sure the job gets complete. read more

They came to my house for a water heater issue, tried replacing thermostat and mentioned the circuit is burnt so they will replace the water heater, with a $410 out of pocket because lines need to be replaced. This sounded off so I cashed out of my insurance, called another plumber, he replaced heating element, and thermostat that these guys already replaced and guess what? The water heater worked. Later realised that the thermostat that these guys replaced was faulty as well to milk the warranty company off a new heater and me of $410. Stay away from these scammers. read more

1 Star - Very Disappointed with Ikmar Plumbing and American Home Shield I'm extremely disappointed with both Ikmar Plumbing and American Home Shield. Ikmar gave me a five-hour service window, then emailed me only twenty minutes before arriving--and refused to wait just a few minutes for me to get home. When I reached out, their customer service was unhelpful and argumentative, insisting that I was fully responsible instead of trying to resolve the issue. American Home Shield, my warranty company, wasn't any better. They consistently side with their vendors instead of the paying customers who actually keep their business running. Even after explaining the situation, they defended Ikmar and offered no real help or accountability. In the end, I fixed my own toilet in under fifteen minutes, which says a lot about the kind of "service" I was supposed to receive. Ikmar Plumbing has many similar complaints online, but American Home Shield seems to ignore them, claiming they rely on their own internal rating system. Bottom line: Poor communication, zero accountability, and terrible customer service from both companies. I wouldn't recommend either to anyone. read more

The WORST PLUMBING COMPANY EVER. I am dealing with them through AHS for TWO leaking Faucet from 8th of JULY. They gave me an appointment a week out, the plumber came did nothing, he said i need to order parts. 2 weeks in they still have not called AHS to get it approved. I informed AHS that the plumbing company is VERY unprofessional, AHS said i have to stick with them since they are assigned to me. I have been calling AHS every day and IKMAR Plumbing they consistently keep me on hold and NEVER call back. IT's been almost a month, and they are YET to fix it they have not even gotten InTouch with AHS to get the approval. I was assigned to this company by my home warranty. I was told on Friday that if I didn't receive a call from them that day to call them. To be fair I did call on Saturday morning as they were open till noon. I merely wanted to check on when they would be calling. Again I realized it was Saturday so I only wanted to talk to someone. I phoned and sat on the line for quite a bit, probably 10 minutes and a note appeared on my phone do you want to be notified when it is time to pick up the phone. I chose to stay on the line. After another 5-10 minutes I got a real person who asked if I could hold ... I said yes. After another 10 15 minutes I heard the dreaded beep beep signifying they dropped my call. I re called and after about a 5 minutes I heard they dreaded beep beep again. I called my home warranty company and requested a new contractor. CONSUMER BE VERY AWARE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY especially if assigned from your home warranty company. I have been an American Home Shield customer over 20 years. I had known about previous compliants recently submitted I would have requested another company be assigned to replace my hot water heater which included code modications needed per ikma plumbing. my complaint is the modifications were not completed correctly as a result there was a water leak which caused water damage in my pantry where the hot heater is located I contacted am home shield about this got new plumber to come out who fixed the leak with new piping that was not done when ikmar plumbing did the modification work. I spoked with ikmar representative daniella who said they would repair any water damage and she sent her restoration vender out to review, and he confirmed there was water damage I then followed up with Daniella for the next steps at that point daniella advised they would not be covering any cost of the water damage caused by their plumbers negligence. I then contacted American Home Sheild lodged my complaint they sent ikmar plumbing email as of yet I have not gotten any response. next steps looks like will be legal . Please stay away from this company. Maybe if enough American Home Shields customers complain they will no longer use this plumbing company read more

Small family based a company. It is headquartered in Arizona, but they have recently opened an office in San Jose. Jesus was able to fix both my toilet and my sink issues quickly. I would recommend them and will use them again. read more

I had the same horrible experience with Ikmar Plumbing as the rest of the reviewers. I went through my home warranty company and they contracted Ikmar Plumbing to replace my Hot Water Heater. I suggest if this happens to you, do not hesitate, ask for another plumbing company. My request with AHS was an emergency so I was scheduled for replacement the same day. Not only did that not happen, Ikmar wanted to add additional charges of $665 (I see this happens a lot with Ikmar) that would not be covered by AHS. Neither Ikmar or AHS would tell me what the additional charges were for and would not tell me when they would be back out to replace the unit. In the end, all I received from Ikmar was poor, unprofessional service. I cancelled Ikmar and immediately called another plumber. They replaced my Hot Water Heater 3 hours after I called and they were wonderful! read more

Worst service ever! The technician was awful. He was hired to replace a T-Valve for the dishwasher. He was in and out so fast. He didn't have any tools and he didn't attempt to touch the valve under the sink. He just said it didn't need to be replaced. We got a 2nd opinion and a skilled plumber came out and said it was needed and it was replaced in 10 minutes. We will never use IKMAR again because they can't be trusted. read more

Literally, someone else's used parts, instead of running to ACE Hardware which is only 5 blocks away to get the new part and do a competent job. DO NOT USE this company!! They lie, take forever, scam you and tell you that you have water damage to scam you more because the "restoration company" they refer you to is own by them as well. They have a manager named Daniella that takes zero ownership of their bad service all of their staff put you on 30 minute + holds without any assistance or help. They take advantage of your tough situation and make it worse! The only thing they are on top of is taking your money. Even then they over charge and make up things you "need" to charge you more money. I haven't had a water heater installed in over a week and they could care less that I have had no hot water with 2 children. I haven't notified the BBB and I have yet to hear from the owner or office manager. Oh and on top of all that they are based out of AZ and try to get customers in CA. They close early and barely work, they work from home because you can hear kids and pets in the background, then they put you on hold to try to stop the background noise too. read more

I agree with few other reviewers. I had similar experience with American home shield and IKmar plumbing. Their customer service people were friendly but they were requiring to install expansion tank in addition to water heater that is not required by code. Even though AHS replaces the water heater their total estimate was over $800, which is way more than even the price of a water heater. I got estimates from atleast 6 other water heater companies all with 5* ratings on yelp and they all confirmed I don't need an expansion tank as I don't have a closed loop system (no check valve or pressure regulator). In fact IKmar's own customer service sent me an email that says clearly that it is needed only if it is a closed loop system. But they were still insisting that they won't service it without it as it is "liability". So best option is to take cash out, dealing with them through AHS is a very slow and painful process. read more

Unfortunately they are the only plumbing option for Cinch home warranty. They diagnosed a simple water pipe break as a slab leak which was denied. I had it fixed by a different plumber but am still trying to get the insurance to cover. They had closed the file as they don't cover slab leaks. They also left the hot water heater in the pilot light position causing no hot water. Do not recommend!! read more

Taking advantage of that warranty situation. They quoted me $480 to replace the lines and connectors to my water heater, because it had to be up to code, and they could not use the existing copper which had nothing wrong with it. Hot water heater replacement on a 10 year old home. The replacement and service is what one would expect through home warranty. The service advisor was friendly and hauled away the old water heater and all the associated debris for the work done. I feel I could've sent them the photos of the unit info as the first guy (who spent all but two minutes) came out to confirm the unit needed to be replaced and he would be waiting on home warranty. Do not use this company. Even if your home warranty company assigns this contractor. I had a pilot light that kept going out on my water heater. Note, that my hot water heater was working, but needed to be repaired. An employee from Ikmar came over on 3/25/24 for the appointment. It was immediately apparent that she did not know what she was doing. She proceeded to take apart my water heater without telling me what she was doing. After the water heater parts were taken out, she told me that some parts needed to be replaced. The worse part is that she had no clue how to put it back again so that my hot water heater was working as it was before she showed up. I believe that she was not a trained or certified plumber. I have been waiting for this part now for almost 2 weeks with no hot water. I have not even received a phone call or an apology for them leaving me in much worse shape than when they arrived. On 3/27/24, they told the home warranty company that they expected the part to arrive on 3/30/24 and that they would call me on this day. They never followed up and now I have called the home warranty company twice this week. Both times the home warranty company has tried to call them without success. They have not been responding back. During further investigation, it appears that the parts could have been ordered online and received within one day or purchased at the local hardware store. So, why has it been almost 2 weeks without any response. I also believe that this company is operating without the proper license. In reviewing their licenses on the Arizona Registrar of Contractors, this company has voluntarily cancelled, or had their licenses inactivated or suspended because the Arizona Registrar of Contractors states "THIS CONTRACTOR IS NOT ABLE TO CONTRACT WITH THIS LICENSE AT THIS TIME. THIS CONTRACTOR MAY BE OPERATING WITH OTHER CURRENT LICENSES." In fact, just as of this week, their license for Specialty Dual CR-57 Wrecking was suspended and on 3/28/24 (just last week), there is also a Voluntary Cancellation for Specialty Dual CR-61 Carpentry, Remodeling, and Repairs showing on the Arizona Registrar of Contractors also stating that this contractor may be operating without current licenses. It is my belief that this company may also be operating without proper credentials for their plumbing license. In further review, Ikmar Plumbing also has an F rating with the Better Business Bureau.
