This is one of the fancier restaurants we've been to lately. It's a nice place to dress up and go on a date or have a dinner with adults. The food is excellent. The croquetas de bacalao (cod croquettes) and the grilled octopus were superb. I highly recommend ordering them. I ordered the oxtail for my main course and it was divine. Very flavorful. My husband had the roasted duck, my father in law had the squid ink risotto, and my mother in law had the suquet de bacalao con garbanzos. Everybody was pleased with their dishes. Had we ended the meal there, I would have given this place 5 stars. Unfortunately, we ordered dessert. They dropped the ball there. We ordered the flan de cinco leches and the torbellino de chocolate. The flan was sold as unique since it is made with 5 milks: condensed, evaporated, and three others I can't remember. That mix brought nothing to the table. We didn't finish either of them. Take the dessert away and we enjoyed everything. The service was great.

Mofongo with Lobster

The food and service was excellent. I had the plantain soup as an appetizer and my husband had the Calf's Brains, they were awesome. For dinner we had the oxtail and the Lobster Mofongo delicious. If you like To eat unusual types of food this is the place, Rabbit, Lamb Shanks and their specialty is Codfish. It's not a family oriented restaurant, pretty fancy, but it's not too expensive for the type of food that they serve. It's a repeat for us when we visit PR next time.

It was recommended by one of our tour guides so it is a great option for both locals and tourists. It had a nice atmosphere and very large menu with many different types of options. The Frutti di mare was one of the best pastas I've ever had! It had almost every type of seafood you could want. A great option for someone who wants to try a bit of everything. It was large enough to satisfy you but not too large where you have to take leftovers it back to your hotel. It also came with a salad and delicious bread. My husband ordered the yucafongo pollo, and was very impressed. It was also filling and well made. The drink menu also had a lot of options. I went with the sangria which was super tasty! It's more on the fruity side. Our service was great and we didn't have to wait long for a table or our food, although it seemed busy. Whether you live in the area or are just on vacation, I would recommended trying it out!

Anyway would not recommend.. grouper was very overcooked and mash was just a bunch of starch. We tried two sauces for the fish, verde and garlic which looked identical to the point the waitress couldn't tell us which was which. We believe the garlic one was incredibly salty. Like not needed. The other was good but again not needed. I put it on the mash which helped a bit. Likely I wouldn't return...

The hot sauce on the table was nice, not too hot but a good kick, I usually do not like habanero based hot sauces but this was good! The Queso Frito was interesting in flavors & textures, delicious. El Conflicto was perfect, all the flavor of a pina colada but without the heaviness of syrups & sugar. The Pollo Borracho was super flavorful & filling, chicken cooked to perfection falling off the bone. My fiancé had the Carne Frita, it was super tender & a well balanced dish. This restaurant would be a good first stop for authentic local cuisine. My favorites: * Skirt steak with rice and beans * Pork riblets with honey and rum * Fried cheese topped with a fruit sauce * Avocado-tomato salad * Drunken chicken made from local beer and honey * Chocolate cake with ice cream * Goat cheese and honey flan The only dishes I did not like were ones with octopus in them, like the Chorizo and Octopus Stew and the Seaside Salad. The octopus was chewy and rock hard in both. One person from our group was a vegetarian. Although there was no vegetarian entree on the menu, the staff made her a big plate of delicious cilantro rice with a large side of the avocado-tomato salad and fried plantains. Those of us who were not vegetarians liked her dish so much that we had to order a second plate for her. My only feedback for Casita Miramar is that they should answer their phones and E-mails. I had left multiple messages on voicemail and E-mail in both English and Spanish to modify a reservation, but those were never answered. I guess you will just have to stick with whatever the online Resy system gives you.

They also have drink options that our server listed to us. To start, we ordered the lobster empanadas and sangria. The empanadas were delicious! Very tasty and fresh. The sangria however, was not great. It just tasted like juices that don't really work together. I couldn't taste the wine. We ordered the roasted pork and skirt steak. The steak was really tasty, and juicy. But the roasted pork was very dried and hard. It had some good bits in it but there were quite a few pieces that were too cooked to eat. The rice and beans were cooked very well. This is the perfect place for quick local food where you won't spend too much. But if you want a very high quality, I would choose elsewhere.

Im only giving a 4 star because the dessert i had did have something I was allergic to despite reassurance which cause swollen lips and throwing up outside. My partner and I enjoyed a vast selection of the April 2026 menu items. 6 small plates was plenty for us to split. We started with two rolls with some butter that was brought to the table before our appetizers. They were warm and fluffy but average. Next we had the grouper bites which came on little arepa bread. Probably not a "must-get" but a nice warm introduction. Next was the kampachi- the fish was really great but the sauce was a little thicker/heavier than expected. Then came the grilled prawns. This was our favorite dish! The prawns were large & well cooked. Sauce was extremely savory with great crab and butter flavor. The fried chicken was our second favorite dish. Chicken was juicy, crispy, and well seasoned. The sauce was SPICY. Sweet and savory with an Asian twist with the addition of nuoc cham. We then had the morcilla crepes which were good but not something I'd get again. They were fine- soft, & meaty- not much to say. Lastly, we finished off our meal with a sweet plantain bolognese. The chocolate was so interesting and actually worked really well with the meat sauce. The agnolotti was filled with plantain! This unique dish was the perfect cap to the meal. We also tried a couple cocktails which were super creative as well. The sashamama which was made with sour milk punch was very good! The el cardenalito was a little too sweet. The a tomates si huele was a little too savory. Overall, the experience at Vianda was unique and special. Highly recommend!

There is absolutely NO signage anywhere in the restaurant stating that flash photography is not allowed. While we were quietly sitting at our table waiting for food, my husband took a quick photo of me with flash. Out of nowhere, Patrick, who identified himself as the General Manager, approached us in an incredibly aggressive and hostile manner and abruptly said "NO FLASH" with an attitude that was completely unnecessary and unprofessional. If there are rules guests are expected to follow, maybe the restaurant should clearly communicate them instead of having management aggressively confront paying customers. I asked to speak to the assistant manager who handled the situation much more professionally and was kind, understanding, and willing to listen. Unfortunately, Patrick's behavior completely ruined the experience and left a terrible impression on what was supposed to be a special birthday dinner. His behavior was racial profiling. No guest should feel singled out, uncomfortable, or disrespected simply for taking a photo when there were no visible rules posted anywhere in the restaurant.

We were seated quickly on the patio, which had a great atmosphere, but one member of our party was engaged in a losing battle against the local bird population. These weren't your average birds politely minding their own business--they were running coordinated food-theft operations and dive-bombing tables like tiny feathered pirates. Seeing the concern, the staff graciously moved our group inside without hesitation, which we really appreciated. Service took a little while after that, but the place was busy, and they'd already accommodated our last-minute relocation due to the ongoing Bird Crisis of 2026, so we were happy to relax with a few beers and cocktails while we waited. It's been a while, but if memory serves me correctly, we ordered Fish Bites, Rum Chicken Bites, and several other shareable plates. Everything was delicious. Even our notoriously picky son cleaned his plate of fries, which may be the highest rating our family can award. ‍ The inside of the restaurant was almost an attraction unto itself. Everywhere you looked there were interesting knick-knacks, old rum bottles, antiques, and random treasures. I could have spent another hour just wandering around and inspecting the cabinets. Part of me wishes we could have stayed on the patio because the energy outside was lively and fun. Maybe next time we'll be a little braver--or at least better prepared to negotiate with the birds. Overall, the prices seemed fair for a popular tourist destination, the food was excellent, and the staff was accommodating. If I find myself back in Old San Juan someday, I'd happily return
