This was a great early evening dinner spot. The views were just as outstanding as the customer service. So weather permitting, I would definitely recommend eating outside. The entire meal was amazing and very filling. We ordered the spaghetti which was outstanding. The meatball and Italian sausage blended well with the meal but the lamb sausage, not so much. The spicy pepperoni pizza was also very good and filling. The amount of pepperoni stacked in each slice was a meal by itself. It only needed maybe some Italian seasoning added. This place never fails to fail. It is newer so to some degree you can expect bad service wow they figure out the kinks. However, we have been 3 times now and each time is worse. Last night we sat at the bar, we were not able to order food for two hours. It was nearly impossible to get a bartender to give us a drink and we had three seats. The ambience and design of the restaurant is good and high class but if they can't match that with at least regular service this restaurant is not going to last. read more

Came in for a late night cocktail. Greeted by the male host (sharply dressed) and was shown to the bar. Offered to sit in the 4 Seasons Room but decided to grab a drink at the bar instead. Bartenders were loads of fun and they were celebrating Shea's birthday. The drinks were great and recommend Scorch the Earth. Its a great staff and overall a great way to end a long day. Beautiful restaurant inside and out, the staff was extremely nice and our server was spot on! We enjoyed our drinks a lot. We got the sourdough bread, a pizza, and a side of broccolini. The bread was pretty good, I think if it was a little softer i would have enjoyed it more, but that's my personal preference. The pizza bread was soo good but the pizza we got lacked flavor and didn't have much to it, although we did get it without the meat, but it still could have used some kind of sauce or more cheese. This place is beautiful. looking out over the city is gorgeous. The appetizers and our dinners were exquisite. Gia was our server and I cannot praise her enough. She smiled a lot, was upbeat, friendly and made great recommendations on their dishes. We took her up on a suggestion and we practically cleaned the dish. Came here with my husband off a recco from a friend and we were not disappointed. This is definitely a higher end, pricier spot, but it is worth every penny. The interior is beautifully designed and extremely comfortable. I don't think a single table has a bad view and there are several outdoor tables as well. The bar is very large and I could imagine myself stopping for a late night cocktail with a view of the city lights. We ordered two apps which were delicious, but not necessarily out of this world. But when it came to the pasta and the pizza we were completely blown away. The service was excellent. This is definitely on our return list! read more

Would probably like to give 3.5 rating if I could. Fantastic ambiance. Most of the place has fabulous views. Cocktails were fine. Food pretty good, best thing is the mozzarella. A bit pricey. Servers are hard-working but a bit slow at times, kitchen is fast though. The food did remind me of Cento in Madison, and come to find out, they are owned by the same group. The sauce was getting a little Olive Garden for me. Pasta itself was good. Would def come back for a drink and the view, but there is better Italian food elsewhere. read more

Sprockets! All we could think of while listening to the music and watching the staff in this place was Mike Myers' old SNL bit. Very pretentious from the hostess who took 10 minutes to decide where we could be seated to the bar staff who seemed overwhelmed even before the crowd came in. Service was very slow. We debated requesting that our food be packaged to go back to our room so we could leave sooner but I was afraid to upset whatever progress might have been made. I see some people mention the view. Most of the restaurant looks directly at the roof of the Fiserv Forum. Not a great view. If the builders had gone up 2 more floors you might see over it but as is you are staring at a very large roof. Some of the food was good but there were some obvious flubs. Our pizza came out cut inadequately. This is a simple thing to do right. Cut the pizza all the way through so patrons are not struggling and destroying a hot pizza at their table. We both had the panzanella salad. This was the strangest part of the meal. The salad had virtually no bread in it so apparently their take on panzanella has nothing to do with the name of the salad. It was 90% kale. We actually read the menu again to see if we had missed something. There was no mention of kale. The pasta varied. I enjoyed my spaghetti. My wife's pasta was mostly lacking the various types of mushrooms that were supposed to be in it. The clientele here seemed to be mostly drunk hotel patrons. I guess you don't have to worry about repeat customers when you have a constant stream of new hotel guests. Il Cervo is the rare place we will not give a second chance. read more

I'll start by saying overall food is definitely a try, the seafood you could go without, and when you send it back they charged us for it. This place has so much potential but needs to start with service. Waiter could not answer questions, forgot drinks and overall a lot of mistakes to put a damper on dinner. Runner also made weird and rude comments making our table feel like we were being an inconvenience for ordering a lot of food. Along with not even a flower or candle on the patio tables the ambiance needed something. I hope management can see this review to make things better because this place could be a spot I would go to and tell people about. But for now definitely wasn't the case. read more

Had the veal (dry no sauce), bread (good) and dates (too salty and spicy). Wife had the meatballs (too salty), dates and mixed salad although she felt the salad description should have been giardiniera instead of mixed. Spices were a little too much on many of the dishes and most were overcooked. Service was good and ambience was nice. Major problem was they need to hire a bartender (and probably Chef)! Ordered a dirty martini for which the first attempt was gin, vermouth and ice. Second attempt was the same except add two olives on a stick. How can a restaurant expect to be a high class, high end establishment if they can't even make one of the most basic established drinks of all time. Total whiff! Instead of hype and marketing, do the basics to establish the food and drinks to be the best and work your way up to truly earn the reputation! All the pieces are available to make this a go to restaurant, but many changes are needed to live up to the price point. My husband and I came in to dine yesterday and we were blown away by the place. Everyone keeps calling it the rooftop bar, but people, you are on the 9th floor which is the highest floor of the hotel and there is a bar and a restaurant. We were greeted by a charming male host with a great fashion sense. It was our 1st time there and we were unsure of where to sit. He quickly gave us a tour and explained the different areas - the main dining room/ the bar area/ the 4 seasons room before we decided to sit in the Dining room and that was the right choice. The host also informed us of the gift card promotion sale going on and had the perfect way of explaining it without sounding overbearing. Our server Ben was professional, patient and recommended so many great dishes. Ben just has passion for fine dining and my husband and I loved his service. Ben is like a fine glass of wine and gets better with age. His tone when serving is spot on, knows his menu inside and out and knows the perfect wines to pair with your meals. If you come to dine at Il Cervo ask for Ben. He will take great care of you and your party. He has management potential in our eyes. When we left, we were thanked for dining at the restaurant. My husband and I dined before and we had Julia as a server. She was the best thing ever. Such a sweet young lady and took such great care of us. Tonight we walked in and 2 gentlemen greeted us at the host stand. Both were dapper in their suits. We couldn't get a table outside but we took a seat inside by the window and our server Sara tried with a capital T to take care of us. She was all over the place. Didn't know items on the menu, gave fake information to try to sell us on items we didn't want and never looked us in the eyes. After she left she was just running around like a chicken with her head cut off. Oh Julia why were you not there tonight and we got the bottom of the barrel. Sarah tried her best to provide best service but it was abhorrent and that's putting it nice. Hopefully the managers can remove the wasted servers and focus on putting more talented servers like Julia on every night. We are from Madison and know the Food Fight company and know Sarah is not a representation of Food Fight. My friend and I went up to try the rooftop bar. Sat down at the bar for fifteen minutes and no one looked at us, greeted us or even waited on us to give us water. The bartender then said they would get us water and ended up helping another group that sat down 10 minutes after us and served them and ignored us. We left. We were super excited to try this new beautiful experience only to be disappointed shortly after sitting down at the roof top bar. It was fairly busy but they were well staffed appropriately. My friend and I sat at the rooftop bar 10 minutes before even being greeted by a bartender. The bartender eventually offered us water, which she did not bring, and then proceeded to talk to a different customer who literally just showed up. She took their drink order and proceeded to make their 5-6 drinks for their party. This entire time we weren't greeted or helped by and other staff, over 15 minutes. I read the review of the girls at the bar and they were sitting right next to me. They were impatient youngins who wanted everything served on a silver platter. Life ain't that smooth some days and you gotta learn to be patient. This restaurant is phenomenal. The male host Ash was pleasant, helpful and did a great job providing great customer service. The General Manager Evan is a hero. He does such a great job, and is always checking on guests and helping his team out. He's like the Brett Favre of Il Cervo minus the Mississippi welfare scandal. The bartenders Shay and Lacey are the heart and soul of the bar. The other bartenders are great but Shay and Lacey just have the natural charm and service every bar should have. I stood out on the patio and spoke with 3 different servers - KJ, Gil and Belle. All of them were superheroes. Everyone works so well together and people need to realize this establishment just opened less than 3 weeks ago and they are still new but they operate like they've been in existence for 3 years. Hats off to Evan and Chef Chris for making this the go to destination in Milwaukee. Make sure to call Il Cervo and book the Four Seasons Room! I do think the cocktails are a little overpriced compared to other nice restaurants in Milwaukee ($18 for an on-draft cocktail for example). We sat in the 4 seasons room which was extremely loud, It would be nice if there was something to absorb the sound. But we will be back! read more

Wow, we experienced IL Cervo on our recent anniversary, the food was amazing; it was what I called a cherry on top. I had the Chicken Parmesan entree and my wife the Spaghetti. Both were delicious. Our server was absolutely knowledgeable of their menu and answered every question we had. The ambiance was modern and fresh. IL Cervo is a place that we will be returning to, there are many places in Milwaukee that try to mistreat us. I am a black man and my wife is a white woman and some places are so thick with bias and prejudice that we can't/don't take it and leave. This place felt like everyone was suppose to be there. Loved Il Cervo. The setting is great, with a nice view of the city. Our server Dylan was super friendly and knowledgeable. And the food was both creative and delicious. We had the romaine hearts salad, which was described as an elevated Caesar salad. Indeed, it was the best Caesar salad ever! While staying at The Trade I went to Il Cervo for both dinner (the steak tartare is amazing) and late night bar service. My bartender, Vincent, was the best I've had in recent memory.
