As usual, my husband and I were the first ones there and since my in-laws were running late, we ended up hanging out at the bar for a drink while we waited. Honestly, it worked out perfectly because they had AC and it was HOT in Beverly Hills that day lol. The inside of the restaurant was actually really beautiful too! I loved the decor and the vibe felt way nicer indoors. Looking back, we probably should've just asked to sit inside instead of outside because of the heat The food was oh so so so very good! Came to try them out for Dine LA dinner ($65/pp) and good thing we did because the execution of the food doesn't match the original price point. If it's not during Dine LA, I would likely not come back. Little did we know there was a very obvious explanation for not being full for a Sunday dinner despite the gorgeous patio being perfect for romantic dates. Overall 4 stars: 5 stars for ambiance 4 stars for service 3 stars for food Got the: 1. Toscana (7/10): - This salad was wilted by the time it got to us and not crispy anymore, so we suspect it's been sitting out for a while. - Would've been a 9/10 If it was served fresh 2. Pappardelle Al Tartufo Bianco (+$20 to add lobster pieces) 7/10: - the pasta (9/10) was good, and the doneness was perfect for fresh pasta. - Unfortunately the lobster (4/10) left a lot to be desired. The lobster meat was severely overcooked to the point of being almost rubbery and there were several small shells in the pasta dish. - The waiter must've noticed the pile of shells I made because he whisked away the plate the second I finished so I wasn't able to take a picture. 3. Filet di Manzo (5/10): - the filet was over cooked, which is starting to seem like an overarching theme. We ordered medium RARE and received medium WELL. - This would ordinarily be sent back to the kitchen in any reputable steakhouse, but we gave them a break for not being a steakhouse - the sauce was on the bitter side and this dish was paired with broccoli rabe instead of the advertised spinach so the dish was not balanced at all, just overwhelmingly bitter. Unfortunately this was the worst dish of the night. 4. Il Branzino (7.5/10): - the Branzino fish was not dry but also not moist. I'd say it's pretty typical for Italian cooking, just not flavorful either. It needs a tasty sauce to really add some depth - instead of the advertised zucchini, it came with spinach - It was soft enough for the palate of my grandparents 5. Panna Cotta (9.5/10): - wow, I can't believe the best dishes of the night were the desserts! - Panna cotta was very well balanced with the fruits. Without the fruits and fruit syrup topping, the vanilla bean panna cotta would've be too rich - did not come with the advertised candied rose petals, but this dessert was so well executed that it didn't matter 6. Tiramisu (9/10): - light and fluffy, it was executed well with chocolate shavings on top - a little bitter from the coffee (they advertise that the lady fingers were "lightly dipped in espresso" which my taste buds find hard to believe) but they did have a berry compote on the side to balance it out. - Personally I wish it was not served with berry compote as I believe the advertised mascarpone may been a better pairing Parking: valet only but there's street parking down the street and all around if you're willing to walk up to a block read more

we had a romantic anniversary dinner at il cielo :) the outdoor seating is dreamy and elegant, and it didn't feel loud or crowded which was nice. i ordered the litchee cocktail, which was equal parts sweet and strong, it was perfect! and the meal started with a yummy slice of focaccia bread. there were no vegetarian options for appetizers which was a bit disappointing. i ordered the tortelli di burrata and it was phenomenal. the tri-color sauce presentation was stunning, and it tasted as good as it looked! the cheese and pesto were rich, and the pasta had a good bite to it. we ended our meal with a chocolate souffle and tiramisu. both were very good, and we even got a little happy anniversary message to top it off! overall, a great place to celebrate a special occasion! read more

Ending my birthday month with a beautiful dinner date at Il Cielo in Beverly Hills. This charming Tuscan cottage has a cozy, intimate garden for dining. We had a evening reservation for 5:15 and arrived about 15 minutes early. Although the restaurant opens at 5pm, they asked us to wait until our reservation time. This was a little unusual, but it was fine. We kicked off our dinner with their complimentary focaccia bread and an order of Antipasto Il Cielo. The focaccia bread was warm, soft and airy. Dipping it in the olive oil and balsamic vinegar was pure bliss. Equally as delightful was the Antipasto Il Cielo. This was a beautiful platter of assorted aged Italian meats, grilled vegetables, pesto and olive crostini and a large buffalo mozzarella. I enjoyed the grilled vegetables and the crostini the most. For our mains, I chose to get the special of the night, the Spaghetti Bolognese. He chose to get the Salmone. My Spaghetti Bolognese featured silky al dente strands of pasta topped with ground beef. The sauce was rich and savory. I enjoyed this dish very much. Last but not least was dessert. We chose to get the Panna Cotta. This beautiful dessert consisted of a piedmont vanilla bean pudding with fresh berries and sugared rose petals. It was the most delightful dessert. The Panna cotta was so smooth and creamy, it seemed to melt away with each bite. What really elevated this dessert was the sugar rose petals. The fragrant and delicate rose petals paired wonderfully with the panna cotta's creaminess. Classic and contemporary, this sweet treat made for a perfect ending to our dinner. It was wonderful to celebrate my birthday and dine at Il Cielo. From the beautifully presented dishes to the indulgent rose petal dessert, every detail felt curated for a beautiful celebration. I was invited to a dinner event with the Minor Hotel group. They had an open bar with the usual popular mixes available. The two bartenders were nice and quick with filling in the requests. The layout of the big room was comfortable with a nice ambiance. I was hungry when I arrived and the waiters kept bringing out hors d'oeuvres which were all very tasty especially the salmon toast. Very romantic restaurant to celebrate our wedding anniversary! Asked for a table on the patio and we were in the perfect little corner with a view of the greenery and string lights. Called to add on the $85 romantic package and our table was decorated with rose petals and candles before we were seated, and we were quickly served champagne. Beautiful and seamless! This is a nice place for a larger party who wants "banquet style" service. The place itself is lovely. The courtyard is very Mediterranean. The servers work hard and are pleasant. Because of this being banquet style, the food was ok, not remotely great. The appetizers were ok. Done of them fell apart when you touched them. The focaccia first course was dry. The salad was under seasoned and under dressed. There was no salt or pepper at the table. The pasta course was fine. It lacked flavor. The entree was either salmon or chicken. The salmon was prepared well and was the best thing I tasted. The sides with the salmon were bland. The chicken had a nice butternut squash side that was lovely. All in all, it's a nice place to have a reception/meal. The food is ok. The service and space are great. $20 valet parking kinda stinks. But it's Beverly Hills. What are you going to do? read more

It came with mashed potatoes and vegetables. My only criticism was that the lamb itself was slightly under-seasoned. My wife started with the Wagyu meatballs, which were very tender and fell apart easily, followed by the risotto, which was creamy and delicious. We finished with vanilla gelato and a thoughtful anniversary presentation. The service was pleasant and everyone was nice, although no one in particular stood out. They do not have an ADA/accessible bathroom. Even the hallway was narrow, so don't bring your older aunties - especially if they have trouble with uneven ground and steps. We got complimentary onion bread, which was pretty good (7.5/10). We ordered il manzo for appetizer, which was just okay (7/10). We got the Tortelli, which was about 7-8 pieces of tortelli (7.5/10). Hello again, I was within a group party last night, when we visited Il Cielo, because I suggested it to my out-of-town friends and family, who haven't been here before. They absolutely loved it, and noticeably couldn't stop eyeing the Latin Musician (again, I don't know his name, Robert or Roger, and again, I forgot to get his info because I want to hire him for a huge private event soon. Anyway, my friends and family were mesmerized by his performance, his positive energy, and his constant smiling, which is very pleasant! The service from Antonio is fantastic. The food is great, and the MUSICAL ambience is unmatched! It is very rare to catch a great live performance, great food, and ambience all in one shot. I guess the stars were aligned for us. There were 10 of us there celebrating a 55 year anniversary . We were seated, and it was a long time before anyone asked us if we wanted something to drink. We then ordered appetizers for the table, and the portions were so small! My husband asked about bread, and was told we had to pay for it. No problem. Then he asked how many we wanted, and we asked how many slices come? He said one, as it was focaccia, and was 3 inches square. We ordered 3 to try it, and it was very unremarkable,and did not come with any olive oil . Glad we only ordered 3, and couldn't wait to see how much that would be. ( to their credit, they did not charge us!) But if that is the only bread, big disappointment! A couple of us ordered a Caesar salad, and when it came, all of the adults at the table looked and said how small! And for $18 , what a joke! Now I know food is expensive, and we've been to many places and paid $18 for a salad, but this was ridiculous! Two of the people at the table had the steak special( pricey), and said it was delicious. Others were happy with their entrees. Service was so so, and when one of the waiters had a little medical incident and many at our table rushed to help, no other help / manager seemed overly grateful for that help.
