The outside is so unassuming but once you walk in the vibe is sexy, funky, and cool. Perfect for date night or a place with close friends. You can sit at the table or bar. We sat at the bar which was perfect. The drinks were phenomenal and the glassware I'm obsessed. We started eith the tuna tartare which was the best I have ever had. I still think about it! The Caesar salad was a little greasy/oily but the flavor was good and the lettuce itself was good. The steak was amazong and so soft. Love how its precut to be able to share easily. The short rib pasta was really good as well. I like that style of noodle and the flavor was good. I will definitely be back! This place is incredible but make sure to have a reservation as this place books up fast!! Its worth it!

This is a great spot for a dark, cozy, romantic, classic Beverly Hills, Italian -feeling experience. The staff all wear classic attire and they're generally pretty attentive although I've had a couple times where I was left hanging towards the end of the meal... Fair to say the place was always crowded when I went. The food is extremely high priced however, I suppose that's to be expected considering the location and the experience they're trying to provide. Everything I've eaten has been fantastic, except the potato croquettes which were underwhelming. The bread service is incredible, the paccheri pasta with prosciutto Cotto is absolutely phenomenal And the martinis are fun and pretty too. Caesar is tableside which some people get a kick out of but for me it's still just Caesar salad. Do ask for the giant black peppercorn because that is pretty fun to experience. I love that it feels like 9 PM even if it's 5 o'clock because there are no windows and it's always just a dark, classic, perfectly lit ambience. Oh, and can we talk about the decor. The entrance with the door handle gets me every time and the art in the bathrooms is stunning as well. I do recommend this place and if you're willing to spend $100, definitely get the veal Parmesan.

After viewing some of the recent 1 & 2 star reviews I was about to cancel but since it was past the allowed 48 hr window I was grateful that I didn't! Got there at our scheduled time and was seated immediately at our small table for 2 right near the center of the restaurant. It looked like it was a last minute table as it was definitely in the way of the wait staff as the place was hoppin with many tables packed to capacity. We were greeted with glasses of apertif and our order was taken rather quickly and our waitress provided some tastings of the white wines to help make our decision. After we placed our order the manager came over and was generous to move us to a booth as he saw that we were in a tight spot so that was very much appreciated without us asking. For the dining itself: Caesar salad- prepared table side and the salad itself had fresh crunchy leaves and croutons scattered about with an anchovy flavored dressing that was evenly dressed the salad and topped with a generous snow covered parmigiano. Tagliatelle- prepared al dente with plenty of clams in every bite which were nicely covered in a buttery white wine sauce that had a slight citrus profile. Branzino Picatta- Great to see a fish prepared in this style as the crispy skin made for a good texture combo with the lemon forward sauce and balanced well with the scattered capers. During the time between the salad and pasta, unfortunately a ceiling tile fell in the bar area onto a table and luckily no one was hurt but the wait staff resolved the issue before we even received our entree. The food is deserving of 4 stars but the service and staff is 5+ so overall the experience was well worth the price point that other yelpers have made as a discussion topic. All I can say is that I did not have high expectations based on other reviewers but thankful that it was a great experience.

One of the best Italian restaurants I've been to in a long time. Absolutely loved the restaurant vibes and decor. Yummy dirty martinis, the lemon pasta, spicy rigatoni (special), white beans, New York steak and cheesecake all phenomenal. Went for a girls night but will be returning for date night!

It's a random date night and my boyfriend and I pick this restaurant randomly. Everything was over the top beautiful. At first we wanted to come sooner so we called in. Unfortunately, the host couldn't make any accommodations. I can see why! Every table was occupied. We sat down, instantly given complimentary testing of wine and bread before our jackets were off. The staff constantly asked us if there was anything they could get us. We ordered the recommended bottle of white wine. Pretty light and sweet. ONLY CON, I seen him sample wine in the corner. I just hope it wasn't from our bottle. I don't mind I just give my honest overview. Families, dates, night out with the guys, I seen all styles of reservations. Time for appetizer, the shrimp beautifully made with that red sauce! I couldn't get enough. NOW, I will say I felt like the only person in there taking pictures. Very discreet experience, no phones really out. I didn't mind! We ordered the Branzino and Steak for mains with a side of potato croquettes. Yum!! My fish was light, flavorful, but at the end I was full. Mostly everything was from recommendations and I couldn't complain. My boyfriend ordered the steak. The first time it came out it was Medium and he asked for Medium Well. I tried the Medium steak and boy I'd go back and order it!! Yumm!!!!! After the second time it came out, it was perfect for him. We never had potatoes like what we ordered and it was filling for 3 pieces. We were considering dessert and then he gave us a free piece of cheesecake. WOW, WOW, WOW!! I would come back! I'm shocked the clientele wasn't as diverse but, that doesn't bother me. I love a good meal and I'd definitely recommend this establishment.

I used to really love this place, but last time i visited i felt their pastas are not as it used to be. I had the lemon pasta and it was extremely oily, in fact the oil taste was the dominant taste over everything else. My friend had spaghetti with meatball and the meat tasted so terrible and again oily. I hope they go back to what they used to be...

I'd been curious about trying La Dolce Vita for a long time, and finally took the opportunity to come here as a celebratory dinner for my husband's birthday in August 2025. I'd made a reservation a few weeks before coming and it was easy to make online with a lot of reservation times available. We ended up parking in a nearby carpark and had a short walk to the restaurant from there. Once we arrived, we were taken to our table immediately. One of the reasons I was interested in coming to La Dolce Vita is the restaurant's old-world charm. The restaurant is known for its patronage by Frank Sinatra, who even funded the restaurant. The ambiance here is beautiful and classic. It truly feels like an old Hollywood place inside. We were greeted by a hostess when we walked in and seated immediately at a booth. We got several dishes to share between us, including the Caesar salad, stuffed artichoke, vodka pasta, and branzino. Nothing was bad, but nothing was amazing either. Service was efficient and friendly. We also got the spumoni for dessert, which was pretty, but again, nothing to write home about. This was a fun experience to have once, but I don't think it's a restaurant we'll come to again.

A beautiful, intimate restaurant with lovely service. The food was delicious, and the overall atmosphere made it feel like such a charming, cozy spot.

I was going to give 2 stars but then remembered that we had amazing service so I bumped it up to a 3. This was a mixed experience. We tried the garden salad: it was fresh but way too salty, and the added olives only made it saltier. The mozzarella appetizer was a highlight really enjoyable. Among the pastas, the vodka pasta stood out; it was more like a spicy arrabbiata and honestly, they should just rename it. The lemon pasta, on the other hand, was not great. There was a chalky aftertaste and not worth ordering. The branzino was cooked to absolute perfection, though. Sides were hit or miss: the beans were great, but the potatoes were bland and actually needed salt of some type of sauce like a good marinara. Also, they threw in some rosemary as a garnish without warning, which was a nuisance to pick out if you don't like it. On the service side, our server BRYAN was AMAZING!! one of the best I've encountered anywhere. He's the reason the experience still felt worthwhile. Personally, I don't think I would come back unless it's for drinks. I would really like to see a change in the menu a little bit because this place genuinely has potential. It's just a lot of misses.

    House special

While visiting Los Angeles this weekend, my girlfriend and I were looking for a great Italian restaurant and came across La Dolce Vita on a list of the best Italian restaurants in LA. We decided to give it a try -- and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. From the moment we walked in, the hospitality stood out. Chris, the GM, personally greeted every guest who walked through the door, including us. He was incredibly warm and welcoming and had such a great spirit that it immediately set the tone for the evening. We ordered the house pasta special with vodka sauce (I wish I could remember the exact name because it deserves the recognition), and it was outstanding. The pasta was perfectly cooked and the vodka sauce was rich and flavorful, with a really nice kick of spice from the chili peppers that brought the whole dish to life. We also started with the Caesar salad, which was excellent -- simple, classic and executed perfectly. The service throughout the evening was attentive without being overbearing, and the overall vibe of the restaurant was chic and lively while still feeling comfortable. The pricing was also very reasonable for the quality of the food and experience. We enjoyed it so much that we made reservations and came back the very next night -- and we ordered the exact same pasta again.

My favorite place in LA for a romantic dinner. The food, the drinks, and the ambiance are truly what make this spot so special. The lemon pasta is an impeccable dish that keeps me coming back! it's a nonnegotiable. While I've dined here often and love the overall experience, the service could use some improvement, particularly at the host stand. A bit more attention to manners and professionalism at the entry would make a big difference. However, once you're seated, the wait staff is usually fantastic. It's just a matter of getting through 'level one,' so to speak! Despite that minor drawback, this restaurant remains a favorite for its incredible food and atmosphere.

On multiple occasions, Elton has given me poor service and a noticeable attitude. I chose to overlook it at first, but eventually I brought it to management's attention because the treatment was consistent and unacceptable. After that complaint, the situation escalated. When I returned, Elton refused to serve me altogether. He would not look at me, acknowledge me, or take my order. I was left sitting there while being completely ignored. It became so obvious that other guests sitting next to me noticed and were concerned enough to step in and ask him why I wasn't being helped and to tell him to serve me. That should never have to happen. I then asked for the manager I had previously spoken to, Leo, because I wanted to understand what was going on. I still have not received any clear explanation. What's most concerning is that this behavior feels intentional. No employee in hospitality gets to decide who they will or will not serve based on personal feelings. If a staff member's feelings are "hurt" after a complaint, that does not justify refusing service to a guest. That is not professionalism--that is the opposite of hospitality. It was honestly disturbing enough that the people next to me told me directly that it didn't feel right and that I shouldn't come back because it seemed like I wasn't wanted there. That is not okay, especially at an establishment of this caliber. I am actively trying to get in touch with someone at the hotel who can properly address this situation, because this needs to be taken seriously. No guest should ever feel ignored, singled out, or unwelcome in this way.

I emailed the bar to make a reservation since the online system was down, and they emailed back immediately to confirm -- and even said they would surprise my mom with an extra birthday cake! Now all I had to do was wait 3 weeks until her visit so the experience could finally happen. The day arrived and I got my mom to Maybourne Bar with her none the wiser. From the moment we stepped through the door, the experience was a 1 million out of 10. Every course is unbelievable. This is a caviar tasting in the best way -- all nine courses are topped with generous helpings of delicious N25 caviar. You get sweet, salty, savory, comfort food, upscale dining, everything comes together in the absolute best way. I especially loved the deconstructed deviled egg and the lobster roll, and the ice cream was some of the best I've ever had. The chips and dip came with the cutest miniature potato chips (although I'll admit I could have used a few more), and the caviar salmon burger was super flavorful. And, true to their word, they surprised my mom with a birthday cake -- and then surprised us both with complimentary lychee cocktails! The service was impeccable as well. Each person on the waitstaff was kind, helpful, and accommodating. We loved how descriptive they were of each dish. It was also really nice of them to decide to give us an extra 2-top so we would have room for all of the courses. This is not only an incredible tasting menu, but made even more incredible by the price. 10 courses and a glass of champagne are $85. I was honestly shocked at how much we received for under $100. I cannot recommend this experience highly enough. This is a true gem in Beverly Hills. I'm already planning my next visit!

The servers including our waiter were attentive and helpful. Sadly, the food was a bit of hit and miss for me. The Frutti De Mare (seafood pasta) was disappointing. While it had beautiful presentation and large prawns, I didn't like the flavor of this dish. I wanted a fresh taste made of fresh aromatics such as tomatoes, basil, garlic, or shallots. The sauce was made of some kind of cream and the flavor was just lacking freshness. The shrimp was overcooked, and tasted previously frozen. This dish missed the mark on flavor and texture. My sister got the pan-seared halibut and that was better. The texture of the fish was good although I didn't particularly like the flavor. The bread service was my favorite part of the meal. The bread was made in-house according to our server and it did have the perfect balance of Japanese milk bread and a sourdough. That was a WINNER! The broccolini while generous in portion was just ok both in texture, flavor and creativity. I expected higher quality in the cooking and more creativity in the flavor profile for this type of restaurant. All in all, the sunset, ambiance and service were worth the visit!

I really gotta respect their dedication to red meat and the holy art of cooking a damn good steak. This place is essentially what I'm looking for in a restaurant. Basically hits on all cylinders and checks off all the critical boxes. I don't want to sound all dramatic and such, but I'm dying to go back and try all the other items I didn't have, as well as check out the bar experience. I spoke to some locals outside before they opened, and they weren't just lovely -- they also painted a pretty picture of what the overall vibe is here. It's clear a lot of people in the Beverly Hills and Hollywood Hills area love coming here very frequently. Our server, who I assumed is named Nolan because that's what's shown on the receipt, was very accommodating, kind, and easy to talk to. I think he did a fantastic job dealing with my difficult, picky gf. Haha. I can't say anything was less than stellar. The croquettes in that celery purée stuff were phenomenal. Garlic bread was seasoned and baked to perfection. The bone broth sipper was nourishing af. French fries were perhaps the best I've had in years. Broccolini was fresh, high quality, and complimented the steak very well. I'm bummed we only got to try just the ribeye when it came to the cuts, but my gf did not want to order anything under medium or medium rare that night, so that was a bummer. It's her loss! The panna cotta was the creamiest sweet treat in all of LaLa Land. This is a great place, and it's a top-tier steakhouse. SoCal sometimes lacks places of this caliber that NY, Chicago, and SF / Napa have, but this place is a very close contender to some of the top cream-of-the-crop, steak-centered restaurants in the country. Wine service took roughly 20 minutes, dessert was noticeably delayed, and our server seemed to disappear for extended periods throughout the evening. The most frustrating part came at the end of the meal when it took more than 25 minutes to receive the check. When it finally arrived, it was delivered by a manager in a manner that felt dismissive rather than hospitable. To make matters worse, an automatic gratuity had already been added to the bill. While I understand the practice in some situations, it felt particularly disappointing given the level of service we received throughout the evening. MATŪ serves outstanding food, and that is what earns this review more than a few stars. However, hospitality is about more than what comes out of the kitchen. For a restaurant operating at this price point, the service should match the quality of the food. Unfortunately, on this visit, it did not. I left impressed by the meal but disappointed by the overall dining experience, and I'm not sure I would return.
