My favorite was the mother's day special tortellacci made with brown butter and short rib- I wish this was on the menu year round! The food here was definitely on the pricier end but the portions are big and we probably could've shared. Very friendly service but it does get chaotic considering the small size of the restaurant and how packed it can get- you might have to fight to get your waiter's attention. We made reservations ahead of time on the restaurant but there was some miscommunication with the host. While visiting Newport Beach our friends recommend ll Farro for dinner. As we walked up we were greeted by a very friendly man, Chef O AKA (Oronzo). Besides the food being impressive, I must say (Oronzo) the man who originally greeted us and eventually seated us made our entire night. We had a person in our party who was a bit unruly and inebriated (prior to arrival). Oronzo could have easily turned us away but he didn't, he knew exactly how to handle the situation. From the bottom of my heart, I can't thank Oronzo enough for way he treated us. The way him and Senicia communicated and maneuvered was amazing. Senicia was tending bar with her beautiful smile, she served us promptly and we enjoyed conversation with her until it was time to sit down for dinner. I kinda wanted to eat at the bar because I liked her personality so much. The food here was delicious! My husband had shrimp and lobster raviolis, and I had seafood linguini in a white wine sauce, we devoured every bite. Honestly I didn't have high hopes because I'm picky and feel like pasta is overpriced most of the time, but I can say the food was really good quality and the prices were really reasonable for the amount they served. Chef O was great We had a group of Eight and had a very good meal The Cioppino was very good. I did add some red pepper flakes for spice. It was full of fish almost to much for one to eat. Others at my table had pizza ravioli and pasta. All was fresh and I would go back if I am in the area again. I not wish it was in my neighborhood. Visited Il Farro for the first time on 3/29/21 after a nice day at the beach with the kids. They just re-opened the day before due to COVID and while they didn't have some stuff unpacked yesterday they did a good job with their reopening while under some remodeling. Seating was outside and hand sanitizer is provided at each table. Servers were super friendly and went over the menu with us thoughtfully. The Alfredo my daughter order was perfect, sauce was rich and you can tell it's homemade - not from a bottle. The linguini clam was delicious along with the seafood soup. I was walking around with my friends and we walked past this restaurant and the chef was inviting us to come in and try their food. I really liked how the staff were born and raised in Italy it made the ambiance feel more authentic. I have to say this is the first time in a while since I've been to a place that has great service from the moment we walked in till the moment we left. We had Stefano as our server and he recommended that we get the handmade pasta. The food was good and portions were big. Being a Friday night, Newport is always expected to be packed. I came here with my friends on a whim because the place we originally wanted to go to was an hour and a half wait. We called here and they said it was only going to be a 15 min wait for the 9 of us. The place is pretty small so when we got there, we waited about 20-30 mins for another party to leave, but one of the workers came out to kindly reassure us and update us on their status. The party ended up staying a little longer, but they put a couple tables together outside for us which was nice. Parking: Super hard to find parking because this is in the same plaza as Seaside Bakery and Handels and it was around 7PM. Definitely recommend parking down the street and walking a little. We parked next to the Girl Scouts Center and it was about a 5 min walk! If you're lucky like my friends, you may be able to find a spot right next to the place. 3/10 Service: Service was pretty good as all the servers were very attentive and also gave us some recommendations. They were very quick to take plates away and answered any questions we had thoroughly. 9/10 Food: We got started off with some bread and olive oil with garlic and chili flakes which was nice because most places just do oil and balsamic. I got the Eliche Tropeani (5.7*) which was light and simple but lacking in flavor and definitely could've used more salt. Also, my friend got the same thing and compared to his, I barely got any sauce. My friend got the Bavette Alle Vongole (7.6) which was probably the best thing I tried there as it was very flavorful and the garlic was aromatic. The clams were also cooked well and there was a lot of sauce to go along with it. A solid dish but nothing special to rave about. Another friend got the Tortellini P.P.P. (7.3) which was essentially carbonara with tortellini which was good but a bit lacking in flavor as well. Could definitely taste the different layers of cheese but other than that, it was like a secondary dish that you would order for a night in. Lastly, we got the Farroto Alla Romana (6.3) risotto to share and it was just ok. The brown butter flavor was nice and fragrant but the rice itself was definitely al dente and on the harder side. Kind of had the texture of beans. Price: Each dish averages to around $22 which is pretty average for pasta. Overall I give this place a 6/10. Its nothing special but gets the job done of being a spot to eat on a night out especially being by the beach within a place with a lot of foot traffic. I probably wouldn't come again nor recommend this place because there are so many other better places for Italian food/pasta. The food was enough to not be dissatisfied, but I feel like you could make better things at home as it was on the same level as to-go pasta. *ratings on a scale out of 10 read more

Genuinely one of the best meals I've ever had. The homemade pasta is a must have, and the mussels were melt in your mouth delicious. Run by two brothers from Italy, and their executive chef, 'Chef O', they have created a wonderful place to enjoy a cosy yet decadent meal. The wait staff are prompt, and take great care of their guests. The decor and seating are simple which adds to the casual feel. I had the ravioli and shared with my wife so she shared the pumpkin filled gnocchi. They came to the table hot and very aromatic and looked delicious. Both swishes were flavorful with an excellent balance of flavors. The portions were perfect although we both would've eaten more of both dishes they were so tasty. Everyone was friendly and helpful, always asking if we needed anything. The menu was a tiny bit pricey but it is just off the beach in Newport Beach so the prices did not bother us at all. read more

Not my first time here, and delicious food as always. My only critique would be that a $7 up charge for a different pasta should be communicated to the diner. As should the fact that bread is not complimentary. The Farro ala Milanese was delicious and plentiful. My dining companions pasta was also tasty and filling.
