    Pappardelle Lavender

This restaurant is in the Michelin guide and has many fantastic reviews so we were shocked and confused when we walked in at 6:30pm on a holiday weekend to find it nearly empty. Upon sitting and receiving delicious drinks we ordered the beet salad, pappardelle lavender, and white bolognese. As we started eating we became even more confused as to why this place isn't packed because the food is excellent!! The lavender pappardelle had a nice lemon forward flavor with a lovely lavender aroma. The white bolognese was absolutely in my top 5 best pastas I've had in years. I highly recommend this beautiful restaurant.

As first timers, our party of 4 enjoyed a great dinner. We arrived early and sat by the bar and had delicious cocktails and nibbled on prosciutto, crispy potatoes and olives. For dinner we ordered the roasted beet salad and crispy artichoke hearts, both were outstanding. Then we shared 3 pasta dishes, Pappardelle Lavender, Campanelle White Bolognese and Lobster Pappardelle. Each pasta was cooked perfectly and was very tasty and flavorful. For dessert we had the affogato. The service was terrific, from the bartender to the waitstaff and the host. Each one was friendly, attentive and accommodating. The atmosphere was very charming. I highly recommend.

Came in for Sunday brunch and got reservations just in case. Surprisingly when we arrived there was only two other people in the place. Needless to say the reservation wasn't necessary. We got seated right away (haha). 2/3 shakshuka - was very tart. Didn't like it. 4/5 BLT - topped with an egg and served with a side of potatoes. Pretty good. 2/5 Bloody Mary - too tart 4/5 French 75 - very good Not sure why it was so dead since the place was cute and some of the food was decent. They got swag for sale too.

My favorite spot whenever im in nyc. Il fiorista has really lovely cocktails, and really good pasta. I usuallt get the parpadelle which has some lavender in it and is a really unique dish. The wine list is strong and I usually find something I love. Its my favorite brunch and dinner spot with the girls Ive also gone there numerous times for dessert. I recommend the French toast!

We had SUCH an amazing time here before a birthday party we were going to across the street! We came for dinner and drinks but I think our hostess Ali was the highlight of our evening - she gave us all the best recs, and when it started raining she even walked us across the street to the party with the restaurant's huge out door patio umbrellas so that we wouldn't get wet - what hospitality! We ordered the trout appetizer (incredible!), the potatoes, pappardelle and one more pasta. Surprisingly the trout app was my fave!

My friend booked a group reservation here to celebrate and we had a good time! The food and drinks were great, and our waiter gave us fantastic recommendations we all enjoyed.

Day and time : Friday 6:30pm Found this online as a recommendation : tasting menus under $100 . With inflation, it's becoming harder to justify paying for mediocre food. My friend and I decided to try out this place as it looked cute from online photos . It didn't disappoint- the place is cute , with high ceilings and open layout . Given the name , I expected more floral arrangements and though nicely decorated , it could use more flowers. We first sat at the bar to served by an attentive and helpful bar staff . We made it to happy hour and availed of the specials . Restaurant wasn't very full when we got there but mid meal , more patrons came. I'm not sure what it is but despite the friendly staffs , ambiance , I felt that this place need a little bit more . On the food - we opted for the tasting menu as this is what we came here for in the first place . I wish they spent more time explaining the dishes but by memory we had ravioli stuffed with ricotta , burrata with tomatoes and another dish . They were food but the texture of the burrata and ravioli were too similar ( perhaps another dish like a salad or another texture would be better ). Second dish was the tagliatelle hand made pasta ( with the pinch of salt, it was better). Bread was served but due to the amount of food , we saved it for the short ribs served with mashed potatoes and corn ( this was our favorite ) . Desserts consisted of gelato which was on the softer side and pannacotta with granita . We also decided to go for the wine pairing which in hindsight we should have just ordered a bottle of our choosing . I would give this is 3.5-4 rating because of the space , friendliness of the owners and with improvement on their dinner service ( explaining the meals better and just having a little bit more energy and putting more thought about the tasting menu : variety of texture that's complimentary , incorporating farm to table like ingredients or flowed into the food and instead of purely pairing worth wine , include a cocktail ), this can easily be a 4.5 place . I might go back and check out the brunch menu.

Il Fiorista in Flatiron is an Mediterranean restaurant and floral boutique serving flower accented dishes in a warm ambiance. For dinner we started with squash blossoms stuffed with ricotta. For mains we had the flat iron steak and pappardelle with pecorino and lavender, both of which were delicious. We like this restaurant for the good food and bright, botanical space

The tasting menu here is phenomenal! Even though it's 4 courses it's really several items. Unfortunately got too hungry and couldn't take photos of all the courses. Olives, bread, salad and burrata to start. Burrata and bread were both delicious! For the pasta course they gave us this red sauce pasta that to us tasted way too fishy. We were disappointed because all the other reviews mentioned the lavender papardelle which we hoped to try. We mentioned this to our waiter and he added it on to our next course for free! Next course was the short rib - pretty good but not as good as the lavender pasta. Finally finished with dessert (but by now we were stuffed). We also got the wine pairing - very nice pours! We will be coming back!

In a city with more Italian restaurants than you can try in your lifetime, I would not come here for Italian food. But i will say that this is a beautiful, quiet place to catch up with someone I made a reservation for 6:30 on a Thursday night (before a holiday), which proved very unnecessary since it's a large restaurant and was almost completely empty. That's always a little worrying The service was attentive and I was pleased that this was a comfortable space for my group of four to catch up with each other. We could hear each other perfectly My main priority was met of being able to make a last minute res, and unfortunately the mixed reviews about food did make sense to me by the end of the meal -artichokes- crispy and yummy. Not unforgettable though -potatoes side- nicely crisped and flavorful -risotto- it was odd to see this not as a an entree, but we got it for the table and everyone found it tasty. It's something very similar to what I've made myself at home -lavender paperdelle- the pasta was good quality but the sauce was just simple and buttery. I found the lavender to give it a bitter taste -white sweet potato gnocchi- more of a toasted dry gnocchi. Definitely sweet and on the chewier side. I enjoyed it but my husband not so much Overall, a very pretty place with mediocre food

Came here for a birthday celebration. The service was great - they took really good care of our party of 10. The interior is also super cute - great for a girls' night out or brunch. Now on to the not-so-good stuff... We ordered two pastry baskets, which we were enjoying until my friend found a small rock in the biscotti as she was eating it. The manager addressed the incident promptly and was extremely apologetic and offered to make things right. I ordered the Shashuka for my main and didn't like that the eggs were overcooked. Not sure if this is indeed how they do it here, or the eggs just sat in the skillet for too long as they were getting the rest of our orders ready, but the egg yolk was too solid for me to enjoy. It also had way too little harissa sauce to be a proper Shakshuka and was more like baked eggs instead. The scallion fritters were good tho.

One of the best dinners I've had. Service was great, staff is so friendly and inviting. Food was delicious. il Fiorista is one I'll recommend to any friend. Certainly felt like we got our money's worth.

Hi Matthew, Il Fiorista does have gluten free and vegetarian options.

Is this place as good as they say?

It really depends on what you order here. We had a hit and miss experience. The cocktails and dishes arent as floral as the menu advertised.

I was warmly greeted by the gentleman at the door (5 service there), which set a great first impression. However, as soon as I walked downstairs, it felt like the space had lost its speakeasy vibe. I was seated right near the stairs and could feel cold air from outside every time the door opened, which made the experience uncomfortable. I was also surprised to see how much the cocktail menu had been reduced. When I asked about it, the response was that "the place changed a lot." That's fair -- places evolve -- but instead of highlighting the improvements or new strengths, the explanation focused negatively on what the bar used to be. As someone who really enjoyed the former version, that wasn't reassuring. Unfortunately, the drinks themselves didn't make up for it. One of the two cocktails was simply not good. No one came back to check on the drinks, and when I asked for the check after about 20 minutes, there was no acknowledgment that I had barely touched mine or any inquiry about my experience. Overall, a place I once enjoyed and recommended now feels more like a standard dive bar where " Mixologist " were replaced by bartender and were fun cool looking and tasty drinks were replaced by " less complex cocktail ", lacking the warmth and attention to detail that once made it special.

It was dark when we entered the coffee shop but an ajar door gave way to the bar. The space isn't too large - the bar and stools take up most of the space but they also have some booths/tables. The place looks great. The cocktail menu is very creative - I got one of their seasonal mixes that was actually two drinks in one. The main cocktail was meant to be sipped first and they provided a small glass of beer to be sipped after. The name escapes me but it was very good. For drinks, we ordered the Smoke Show and the King Tusk. The Smoke Show was beautifully balanced. The Grey Goose vodka and Dolin Dry gave it that classic martini backbone, but the fino sherry and brine added depth. The smoked olive oil and blue cheese olive brought just enough savory drama without overpowering the glass. It was complex but not fussy. The King Tusk leaned more aromatic and layered. The vermouths gave it richness, while the Buddha's Hand and osmanthus flower added subtle citrus and floral notes that lingered in a really elegant way. We walked in without a reservation around 6:20 p.m., and they were able to accommodate us at a shared table until 7:15. The menu surprised me a bit. Since I associated the address with Eleven Madison Park, I wasn't expecting to see items like wings stuffed with sausage, which were done in partnership with Jungsik. We ordered those along with the mushroom burger and asked them to cut the burger in half for us. The cocktail menu was creative and a little intimidating, with unconventional ingredients like cream cheese and green curry. I went with a fruity Hendrick's-based drink, and my friend ordered the spicy green curry martini. Both were good. Mine didn't taste very strong, but it also wasn't overly sweet because there was enough bitterness to balance it out. The green curry martini was more adventurous but still worked. Service was mixed. There was a woman standing near us, so we tried ordering food with her, but she seemed hesitant to come over. Maybe she wasn't a server or was newer. For drinks, she brought over someone more seasoned, who quickly helped guide us based on our preferred taste profiles. Her suggestions were very good. The mushroom burger was the highlight for me. It was a little salty, but the crispy mushroom and soft bun were a great combination. I honestly wished I had more than half. The wings were okay. They were crispy on the outside and juicy inside, but coated in a Dorito-like powder that made them very messy.
