    Shrimp zucchini pasta

I like their kitchen and their variety of food selections. Ambient is decent, waiters are warm. Inside outside seating all available. I like my shrimp pasta, combination of flavor and nutrition. Atmosphere is joyful with all flowers and decorations.

The Milano mule and happy hour menu

On May 7, I treated myself to a celebratory meal in honor of my 19th year work anniversary with my work organization. I recently saw that this restaurant has happy hour so I wanted to try it out. Wow, am I so glad that I did can I just tell you that I had the most amazing service from the moment I walked in the door graded by the hostess from being sat down and then my server and I hope I got her name correctly Jessica she was super amazing! First off let me say two drinks and a pizza on happy hour is super affordable and you're going to take it to go box unless you just can knock back a whole pizza. I had the pizza with the meat options and I had a Prosecco and a Milano mule. Let me tell you anything on this menu is worth it but if you can get happy hour prices, why not? I have such an amazing experience. I wanna try out there Monday. Happy hour as well. I've already told three people about this so please take my word for it and go to a location in your area. You will not be disappointed.

A beautiful night on the patio.

We had such a romantic evening out on the patio. I didn't want the night to end. It was quiet and tranquil. The weather was so perfect. We were so comfortable. We recently went to Ruth Chris's for the first time and thought the food was a bit overpriced. You're really paying for the ambience. We came here a couple of days later, also our first time. We just loved it. Very reasonable prices. The bread was warm and tasted so fresh. I couldn't resist them and filled up quickly. I could only eat a third of my delicious risotto with seared scallops and shrimp. They made to order a pizza for my husband and he loved it. Wood burning without the black crusts at the bottom or sides we usually get at other restaurants. The waiter was charming and checked in on us at the right times. He's very experienced and attentive. We've lived here for almost a year now and finally found our date-night restaurant.

An upscale, white tablecloth, Italian restaurant with a classy and comfortable vibe. A menu with names I can't pronounce, and flavors I want to taste again. We went for lunch on Labor Day. THE PROS: Walking in you can tell it's fancy, but not pretentious. We started with Gnocchi in a mushroom cream sauce. Main dishes were Veal Scallopini with Lemon sauce, and Chicken Parm with pasta. Our waiter surprised us with a strawberry sundae for two at the end of our meal. All the food tasted fresh and full of flavor. Portions were good size The crusty bread with olive oil was wonderful. While there were no culinary surprises, it was the kind of dining you would find in a high end hotel or resort. THE CONS: All minor things. The bread had oil and balsamic, but a little butter on the table would have been nice. The waiter made a fresh pot of coffee at my request-the original was on the "been on the warmer quite a while" side. Service was leisurely- so that's only a con if you are in a hurry. BOTTOM LINE: While not cheap, prices were in line with other high end dining choices- and the food tasted great. Good enough that I added our name to the mailing list and look forward to going again. RATING 8.5/10

Sorry to say the food has gone way downhill at this location. I love the beautiful dining room ambience, but this will be my last visit here. Ordered off the regular menu rather than ordering the special Sicily meal. I order the Branzini (sea bass). It was over cooked and dry, mashed potatoes were very dry and lumpy, and they just dumped a big spoonful of tomato sauce on the side of the plate. Weird! I ate about 1/3 of my meal and was very disappointed for a $46 entree! Service was great until the end. He brought the birthday dessert and they he forgot to take the rest of our dessert order, by the time it came out of the kitchen the birthday dessert was long forgotten. Won't return.

Pappardelle Alla Norcina Con Pollo - 4/10

It was my son's 17th birthday and his dinner choice was Il Fornaio. I've had this many many years ago at the downtown Sacramento location so with how delicious that meal was I was sure that we were all in for an amazing feast. I'm sad to share this was not the case. Our party was a total of 10, adults and children combined. I made reservations beforehand, we got seated in a nice enclosed corner, and our server Daniel was great. He greeted himself, promptly got us drinks and bread, and continued to tend to us where we hardly ever had to flag him down. The reason for my two stars is the food! Terrible letdown for half of us. I ordered the Pappardelle Alla Norcina Con Pollo as it sounded appetizing and filling since it included chicken. When I received my dish I was a little shocked with how it looked. Almost like a home cooked meal and everything on my plate was the same color, lol. Everything was sort of just one note tasting, no depth of flavor whatsoever. It's as if my sauce came from a jar! For the price of my plate I had much higher expectations... Nearly half our table got the Rigatoni Alla Vodka. Oh my goodness, that was even more disappointing! The sauce was not glossy or flavorful. It was on the thicker side. Again, for what we expected but got instead was such a bummer. The pesto pasta I make for my family is 10x better than these two dishes. I should also mention everyone who had the vodka pasta complained of stomachaches and my daughter threw up as soon as we got home. What a memorable birthday.

"Best bread" advertisement which they no longer offer with your meal.

Haven't been here in a long time because on our last visit I observed a female employee exit a locked bathroom stall and rush out of the bathroom. YES, I complained to the manager and he said "she might have been adding a fresh roll of toilet paper". Ummm....she FLUSHED the toilet and unlocked the stall, so I don't think so! Gross! Wasn't interested in returning after that. Unfortunately we were given a gift certificate, so we had to return. We were sad to discover some negative changes. They no longer offer bread with their meals AND they charge a mandatory additional 3% for "employee training". Ridiculous! Their patrons have to pay for employee training? Why not Just raise your prices by 3% instead of charging a fee for employee training?! Whatever. We had a nice lunch, salads, two entrees and some beverages, but we won't be returning due to the above. Our entrees were $40 each, salads were $30 (we added shrimp) and they won't give you a slice of bread? Ridiculous. There are so many restaurants in Roseville to choose from, Il Fornaio is not one we'll be back to.

Had such a wonderful lunch today!! Our server (forgot his name sorry!) was the most attentive and helpful waiter. He was helpful with my gluten free allergy and suggested great dishes for myself and my partner. My boyfriend started with the bread appetizer, which he said was very good. I went with the GF penne alla vodka, lacked a little flavor but I spruced it up a bit. My partner had the bolognese, he enjoyed it! The food and service was super fast, we were in and out within 40 min!

I bring my daughter here whenever I get a chance to. It's one of our favorites. They have a great selection of Italian entrees and their calamari for an appetizer is the best. The staff is warm and friendly and don't forget to order their baked bread with your meal. It's worthy of a 5 star experience for me.

I celebrated my birthday dinner here with my family. Some of the dishes that we got were the salmon, the lamb shank, the trio pasta, the chicken, wrapped in bacon, and the fillet. The staff was very attentive and made my dinner special. The decor and ambience was very elegant, and the desserts were fabulous.

BRANZINO AL LIMONE - seabass fillet, white wine lemon caper butter sauce; broccolini, baby carrots & roasted yukon gold potatoes.
    Lin L.

10 stars for excellent service, delicious food and timely serving. The atmosphere was great. Bread and balsamic vinaigrette.was brought to the table. The two staffs attended to us, pleasant, friendly and timely. We ordered the calamari very delicious, perfect crunch not oily at all with marinara dipping sauce to go wiith. My partner had a glass of fresh, well-balanced golden yellow fruit driven and alpine flowered Borgo (white) to go with his Branzino- seabass. I chose a glass of languid and piquant light pink Donna to go with my seafood linguine- both wines are a perfect accompaniment. It was a beautiful lunch on Valentine's Day, from start to finish. Atmosphere was just right, we were not rushed, served accordingly, food was delicious and the wines were perfect. We walked thru the mall, had coffees and ended up with movies and popcorn. Beautiful day together. Go here tomorrow.

Came here with a group of 8 other fabulous women, and we all left full, happy, and raving about how amazing this place is! Seriously, it was a unanimous "OMG this is so good" kind of meal. While I didn't try the beet salad (which got glowing reviews from my friends), I kicked things off with the calamari. It was super tasty--could've been a bit crispier for my preference, but honestly, that didn't stop me from devouring almost the whole plate solo. For my main, I had the vodka pasta. I didn't realize it had bacon in it (not usually my thing unless it's just... bacon), but this dish won me over. Creamy, flavorful, and totally delicious--I was impressed! And let's talk about dessert: the banana bread pudding. Chef's kiss. So warm, comforting, and downright phenomenal. I'd come back for that alone. The staff was incredibly accommodating, friendly, and our food came out impressively fast--and it all tasted super fresh. Bottom line: 10/10 would recommend. This place knows what it's doing!

Noticed I never reviewed Il Fornaio. We like coming here because the service has always been great and we love the ambience. Whether brunch, dinner, or HH, it's always been a great experience. Our favorite dishes are Calamaretti Fritti, Carpaccio, Tagliatelle bolognese, and Calabrese pizza. If you haven't been, give them a try.

Hi wondering what the corkage fee is?

Hi Maddy, $20.00😯😬 no good! But TWOMEY Sauvignon Blanc is Excellent😉😉👍❤

Do you have a happy hour?

In 2016 they did " Il Fornaio Happy hour menu. Happy hour price $6 on the left side of the menu and reg price is on the right side of the menu." I'd call first and ask if it's still in effect.

What is the dress code for this place?

I would say business casual but you won’t get thrown out if you are not. LOL.

How big are their pizzas are they shareable?like can me and my boyfriend share a pizza?

They are the size of a big plate! They are shareable but definitely order other stuff as it's not enough for a guy!

She also agreed gristly which is a big no-no for her too. My wife had the salmon over rice & broccolini which she paid extra bc she's not a fan of cooked spinach. Her plate was very hot which kept her salmon warm to eat which was a huge plus. She definitely needed the steak knife to cut the broccolini. She was much happier with her dish more so than I was with my dish. But she felt her salmon wasn't too memorable taste wise. Our server was great & the ambiance of the restaurant was nice. We sat in a booth in the back of the restaurant. I doubt if we would return though.

We had the fried calamari appetizer and it was delicious, not greasy at all and had fried green beans and onions mixed in. Wife loved her grilled salmon entree. We both enjoyed our cocktails as well. Service was fairly good overall, although it took a long time before our server came to take our order and service was just all around slow. Very friendly though. Cons: My entree was not good. Ordered the pappardelle with short rib ragu. This was NOT a ragu as it is commonly known, it was more of a cream sauce with some meat in it. The pasta was swimming in cream. And I hate cream sauce. I never would have ordered it had the menu description said it was a cream sauce. The server offered to make me another entree but I did not want to wait another 30 minutes so I choked down what I had. Value is not good. The burger is $20, for example. Prices are a bit too high for the experience you are getting. Verdict: We may be back, as 2/3 of the food was quite good, they just failed on my pasta dish. But it's pricey, so who knows. Moderate recommendation.

We had originally reserved a tatami table, but quickly realized it wasn't the best fit for our group since we had some older people with knee pain. Just a heads up, the tatami seating does not have recessed flooring. Luckily, we were able to adjust to a regular table. Once we were settled, we looked through the menu and ordered a double toro roll, a wagyu roll, and a dinner bento with unagi-don. Happy to report everything we ordered was delicious! The double toro was very fresh and refreshing, and the wagyu roll had a rich, savory flavor that reminded us of a yummy steak. We enjoyed every bite. I was especially impressed with my bento box. The presentation was beautiful and the portions were very generous. The bento came with steamed egg, a fresh garden salad, assorted tempura, and unagi-don. Everything in the box tasted great. First, I want to say the chef was younger, but he put alot of care and effort into each dish, so he should definitely be acknowledged. However, as soon as we walked in, there was no greeting from both of the female servers, only cold stares. Many servers do not give great service to younger tables and assume they won't tip. This occurred throughout our dining experience and we didn't feel welcomed at all. Our table also wasn't the biggest and there was no pre-bussing done to clear our dining space. Also, as a recent graduate, I brought my cap to receive a $15 gift card for their promotion. Instead, she gave a "neighborhood" discount (10% off which made it $10 off). I didn't mention anything since I did not feel like coming back to this location. Then I looked at the receipt, wrote a 20% tip, but this was where I felt scammed. Fleming's has a lot going for it, though we found that along with some great hits, there were also significant misses. One of Fleming's definite strengths is what I would call the "feel" of the experience. From the impressive entryway with its see-through wine bottle walls to the welcoming, friendly interactions with everyone we met, we felt good about being there. The message was that great things were to come. The lengths that Fleming's goes to in making a special occasion feel celebratory are terrific. The hostess who seated us mentioned it; it carried through with decorations across the tablecloth, then a picture taken of us and presented in a frame. Even a complimentary glass of champagne, and a complimentary dessert at the end of the meal - nobody makes a special occasion feel as special as Fleming's succeeds in doing. Our server, Roman, is a first-class server who contributed to our happy experience. Roman is a terrific guy with experiences to share and the ability to guide us through the meal. Not once did we ever have to wonder where our waiter was, and we felt like he was in charge and available whenever we needed him. At various times, managers came over to check on everything, but always in an unobtrusive and brief visit. Great personnel throughout. But I do have to keep it real: with the food, there were both hits and misses. The single biggest miss was the seafood tower, which by itself, I would give no more than a 2/5. The crab is snow crab, not king crab, and the pieces of crabmeat were minuscule. They were so tiny that there could not have been more than an ounce of actual crab outside the shells, and it was not pleasurable to eat. The shrimp were impressively large and properly peeled, but they were overcooked and a bit too tough. The two pieces of lobstertail were also overcooked and not particularly fresh-tasting. The other misses were the pork chop and the asparagus. The pork chop was impressive in its presentation, but too dry to be enjoyable. Some of it near the bone was better, but most of it wasn't to my liking and wasn't eaten. The asparagus was totally off, tough and chewy. But they noticed we hadn't eaten it, and without any request from us, they removed it from the bill. And, there were definite hits. My wife loves good scallops, and she said Fleming's scallops were delicious. The onion rings were among the best we've ever had. Both desserts were excellent. The carrot cake was good, but the brownie was even better, served with ice cream and whipped cream. I always think brownies are too rich and dense, but Fleming's brownie is light and so chocolatey-good. Fleming's gets a ton of 5-star reviews, and I have no problem recommending it. In fairness to Fleming's, they do hold themselves out to be first and foremost a "prime steakhouse", and we did not have steak. My first choice, actually, was a cap steak, a spectacular cut of meat that's very hard to find on any restaurant menu. But they were out of it that day. For a special occasion, Fleming's is a no-brainer, and the overall experience is one you will enjoy. Go for it.

Food: Quite good. We got the $70 for 2 meal deal and the fish was very fresh. Tuna was tender and now chewy. I think the food is definitely geared for more American palate but I'm not complaining. It's still pretty good. We ordered this seared tuna, sake fin, rolls (Annie and Marilyn Monroll), and green tea tiramisu. Service: Good as well. Our waitress checked in on us multiple times and provided help when we needed advice on the menu. Parking: It sucks! I had to park really far away unfortunately but at least I got a spot? It's probably worse on a weekend so come prepared. Overall, I liked my experience. The only things I didn't enjoy was the wait, parking, and price. Although the food was pretty good, I thought it was a little overpriced.

"Disappointment" The dish lacked heart, and the foundation was absent. A dash of salt and a gentle sea aroma...could have been great.

There are plenty of food options here I wouldn't say everything is top quality but for $25 including all you can eat crab I think that's a great bargain. They don't have a lot coming out all at once so you may have to wait or come back to see if it's been replenished. They do have sushi here, but I'll be quite honest, not the greatest quality . Plenty of Chinese food options from calms , oysters, fried fish , beef broccoli, honey walnut shrimp, basically if panda express has it you can get it here. Most of the Asian food is mediocre as I would still choose panda express if I had the option. Service is friendly, definitely a more upscale looking Asian buffet than most I have been to. They even allow customers to purchase a to go box. I would come back here just for the crabs since I can't find anywhere else in the Sacramento area that offers crab legs besides the hard rock Casino, but that's twice the price of here.

It also wasn't very busy, so we wanted to give it a fair shot. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill fast once we sat down to eat. The sweet-and-sour soup was extremely oily and had an off taste. More concerning, nearly all of the food on the buffet was cold. The only thing remotely warm was the soup. When we brought it up, the server explained they were transitioning between lunch and dinner and offered for us to wait while they replaced the food. I appreciate the offer, but that doesn't excuse having a buffet--especially with seafood, poultry, and meat--sitting out cold. That's not just unappetizing, it raises serious health concerns. We chose not to stay and eat. Again, the staff was polite, but food safety and quality just weren't there.

Q1227 easily became one of my favorite dining experiences in Sacramento…read more We started with the lobster bites and broccolini. The lobster bites came with a lemon wedge and their house Thousand Island sauce, and that sauce was incredible. The combination of the crispy lobster, lemon, and sauce worked perfectly together. The broccolini was also seasoned really well and paired nicely with the grilled lemon. I ordered an Old Fashioned, and it was one of the smoothest I've had. One detail I loved was that they stamped the restaurant's logo into the ice cube. Small touch, but really cool. For my main course, I ordered the Grilled Huli Huli Chicken with a crispy rice cake, pineapple, greens, and a house sauce that completely made the dish. The sweet and tangy flavor paired perfectly with the chicken. Me and my girlfriend also shared the mac and cheese, and honestly, this was one of the best mac and cheeses I've had. It was rich, creamy, well-seasoned, and the breadcrumbs on top added the perfect texture. My girlfriend ordered the braised short rib with garlic mashed potatoes and carrot purée. The short rib was so tender it practically fell apart with a fork. Everything on the plate was delicious. One thing that surprised me was the portion sizes. Everything was very filling, and we ended up taking some food home. By the time dessert came around, we were already pretty full, but there was no way we were skipping it. To finish the night, we shared the Ghirardelli triple chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, and strawberries. It was the perfect way to end the meal. The restaurant was busy and lively, but it never felt crowded. The tables were spaced out really well, so my girlfriend and I could still enjoy our conversation and watch the basketball game. I also appreciated seeing Chef Q and his wife walking around and checking on guests throughout the night. They stopped by tables to see how everyone was enjoying their food, which was a really nice touch. I even had the chance to take a picture with Chef Q before we left, which was super cool. Between the food, service, atmosphere, and attention to detail, this is easily one of the top restaurants I've been to in Sacramento. Definitely worth a visit.

It was a new place for all of them, but I've been here (and the previous location) multiple times. The food has always been good and I enjoy the creative menu. As expected, everyone enjoyed the food this night as well! I had the Beef Wellington, something I rarely see on menus... so when I DO see it, it's usually on my short list. It was excellent. The broccolini was great too (it was the veggie I chose). And... the carrot cake! Bravo! I love a great carrot cake. The unfortunate negative for us? And I hate to even mention this, but it was definitely a thing for us... the musician, whom I LOVED for his talent and music... was just too loud for us. Not sure what to suggest on that. We enjoyed the music, but we couldn't hear anything else. We couldn't hear each other... we couldn't hear the waiter more often than not... the horn (clarinet) just blasted us out. We weren't RIGHT next to him, we were a couple tables away... but the same side of the room as him. In the future, I'll try to be seated further away if I'm with a group that wants to talk. I'll be back... but maybe after I take an ASL course.

Since every state in Mexico cooks staples differently we were curious to try Oaxacan Cuisine. The restaurant feels like a restaurant in Mexico, we sat in the second back room and we felt like we were transported to a restaurant town in Mexico. The server was great, nice and friendly and the food was amazing! I ordered their Oaxacan Style Ceviche and it was so good! It came out in a molcajete style plate, and it looked small, however it wasn't, the portion was generous! Our family member ordered the pozole and they shared it was also delicious. (We didn't try it because we don't eat poultry but it smelled so good). Overall great stop, and we will be stopping by when we're back in the Rocklin area.

Fish tacos so goooood! [Rocklin CA]…read more So happy that my friend, Belinda, suggested this place when I mentioned that I was craving fish tacos. I ordered from their Mezcalito Specials menu (green) and chose the Baja Fish Tacos ($18). I like the part that it came with rice and black beans. It included two fish tacos. Since I couldn't decide between grilled or fried I got one of each. The fish were beer battered with cabbage, mango, pico, avocado | opted out of the cilantro and onion | Chipotle Aioli on the side just in case I found it too spicy for my taste. It turned out that it added to wonderful flavors on the tacos. Unfortunately, the chips and salsa was not complimentary. Purchase separately. The servers were friendly and welcoming and it made for a pleasant first time experience! There are two dining sections so don't fret when you see the dining area full as you enter the restaurant. There is also a picnic bench under covered roof outside patio dining. You won't be disappointed! No wonder they are at almost perfect 5-stars in Yelp. Instagram: @mezcalitorocklin Review #4055
