I like their kitchen and their variety of food selections. Ambient is decent, waiters are warm. Inside outside seating all available. I like my shrimp pasta, combination of flavor and nutrition. Atmosphere is joyful with all flowers and decorations.

The Milano mule and happy hour menu

On May 7, I treated myself to a celebratory meal in honor of my 19th year work anniversary with my work organization. I recently saw that this restaurant has happy hour so I wanted to try it out. Wow, am I so glad that I did can I just tell you that I had the most amazing service from the moment I walked in the door graded by the hostess from being sat down and then my server and I hope I got her name correctly Jessica she was super amazing! First off let me say two drinks and a pizza on happy hour is super affordable and you're going to take it to go box unless you just can knock back a whole pizza. I had the pizza with the meat options and I had a Prosecco and a Milano mule. Let me tell you anything on this menu is worth it but if you can get happy hour prices, why not? I have such an amazing experience. I wanna try out there Monday. Happy hour as well. I've already told three people about this so please take my word for it and go to a location in your area. You will not be disappointed.

A beautiful night on the patio.

We had such a romantic evening out on the patio. I didn't want the night to end. It was quiet and tranquil. The weather was so perfect. We were so comfortable. We recently went to Ruth Chris's for the first time and thought the food was a bit overpriced. You're really paying for the ambience. We came here a couple of days later, also our first time. We just loved it. Very reasonable prices. The bread was warm and tasted so fresh. I couldn't resist them and filled up quickly. I could only eat a third of my delicious risotto with seared scallops and shrimp. They made to order a pizza for my husband and he loved it. Wood burning without the black crusts at the bottom or sides we usually get at other restaurants. The waiter was charming and checked in on us at the right times. He's very experienced and attentive. We've lived here for almost a year now and finally found our date-night restaurant.

An upscale, white tablecloth, Italian restaurant with a classy and comfortable vibe. A menu with names I can't pronounce, and flavors I want to taste again. We went for lunch on Labor Day. THE PROS: Walking in you can tell it's fancy, but not pretentious. We started with Gnocchi in a mushroom cream sauce. Main dishes were Veal Scallopini with Lemon sauce, and Chicken Parm with pasta. Our waiter surprised us with a strawberry sundae for two at the end of our meal. All the food tasted fresh and full of flavor. Portions were good size The crusty bread with olive oil was wonderful. While there were no culinary surprises, it was the kind of dining you would find in a high end hotel or resort. THE CONS: All minor things. The bread had oil and balsamic, but a little butter on the table would have been nice. The waiter made a fresh pot of coffee at my request-the original was on the "been on the warmer quite a while" side. Service was leisurely- so that's only a con if you are in a hurry. BOTTOM LINE: While not cheap, prices were in line with other high end dining choices- and the food tasted great. Good enough that I added our name to the mailing list and look forward to going again. RATING 8.5/10

Sorry to say the food has gone way downhill at this location. I love the beautiful dining room ambience, but this will be my last visit here. Ordered off the regular menu rather than ordering the special Sicily meal. I order the Branzini (sea bass). It was over cooked and dry, mashed potatoes were very dry and lumpy, and they just dumped a big spoonful of tomato sauce on the side of the plate. Weird! I ate about 1/3 of my meal and was very disappointed for a $46 entree! Service was great until the end. He brought the birthday dessert and they he forgot to take the rest of our dessert order, by the time it came out of the kitchen the birthday dessert was long forgotten. Won't return.

Pappardelle Alla Norcina Con Pollo - 4/10

It was my son's 17th birthday and his dinner choice was Il Fornaio. I've had this many many years ago at the downtown Sacramento location so with how delicious that meal was I was sure that we were all in for an amazing feast. I'm sad to share this was not the case. Our party was a total of 10, adults and children combined. I made reservations beforehand, we got seated in a nice enclosed corner, and our server Daniel was great. He greeted himself, promptly got us drinks and bread, and continued to tend to us where we hardly ever had to flag him down. The reason for my two stars is the food! Terrible letdown for half of us. I ordered the Pappardelle Alla Norcina Con Pollo as it sounded appetizing and filling since it included chicken. When I received my dish I was a little shocked with how it looked. Almost like a home cooked meal and everything on my plate was the same color, lol. Everything was sort of just one note tasting, no depth of flavor whatsoever. It's as if my sauce came from a jar! For the price of my plate I had much higher expectations... Nearly half our table got the Rigatoni Alla Vodka. Oh my goodness, that was even more disappointing! The sauce was not glossy or flavorful. It was on the thicker side. Again, for what we expected but got instead was such a bummer. The pesto pasta I make for my family is 10x better than these two dishes. I should also mention everyone who had the vodka pasta complained of stomachaches and my daughter threw up as soon as we got home. What a memorable birthday.

"Best bread" advertisement which they no longer offer with your meal.

Haven't been here in a long time because on our last visit I observed a female employee exit a locked bathroom stall and rush out of the bathroom. YES, I complained to the manager and he said "she might have been adding a fresh roll of toilet paper". Ummm....she FLUSHED the toilet and unlocked the stall, so I don't think so! Gross! Wasn't interested in returning after that. Unfortunately we were given a gift certificate, so we had to return. We were sad to discover some negative changes. They no longer offer bread with their meals AND they charge a mandatory additional 3% for "employee training". Ridiculous! Their patrons have to pay for employee training? Why not Just raise your prices by 3% instead of charging a fee for employee training?! Whatever. We had a nice lunch, salads, two entrees and some beverages, but we won't be returning due to the above. Our entrees were $40 each, salads were $30 (we added shrimp) and they won't give you a slice of bread? Ridiculous. There are so many restaurants in Roseville to choose from, Il Fornaio is not one we'll be back to.

Had such a wonderful lunch today!! Our server (forgot his name sorry!) was the most attentive and helpful waiter. He was helpful with my gluten free allergy and suggested great dishes for myself and my partner. My boyfriend started with the bread appetizer, which he said was very good. I went with the GF penne alla vodka, lacked a little flavor but I spruced it up a bit. My partner had the bolognese, he enjoyed it! The food and service was super fast, we were in and out within 40 min!

I bring my daughter here whenever I get a chance to. It's one of our favorites. They have a great selection of Italian entrees and their calamari for an appetizer is the best. The staff is warm and friendly and don't forget to order their baked bread with your meal. It's worthy of a 5 star experience for me.

I celebrated my birthday dinner here with my family. Some of the dishes that we got were the salmon, the lamb shank, the trio pasta, the chicken, wrapped in bacon, and the fillet. The staff was very attentive and made my dinner special. The decor and ambience was very elegant, and the desserts were fabulous.

BRANZINO AL LIMONE - seabass fillet, white wine lemon caper butter sauce; broccolini, baby carrots & roasted yukon gold potatoes.
    Lin L.

10 stars for excellent service, delicious food and timely serving. The atmosphere was great. Bread and balsamic vinaigrette.was brought to the table. The two staffs attended to us, pleasant, friendly and timely. We ordered the calamari very delicious, perfect crunch not oily at all with marinara dipping sauce to go wiith. My partner had a glass of fresh, well-balanced golden yellow fruit driven and alpine flowered Borgo (white) to go with his Branzino- seabass. I chose a glass of languid and piquant light pink Donna to go with my seafood linguine- both wines are a perfect accompaniment. It was a beautiful lunch on Valentine's Day, from start to finish. Atmosphere was just right, we were not rushed, served accordingly, food was delicious and the wines were perfect. We walked thru the mall, had coffees and ended up with movies and popcorn. Beautiful day together. Go here tomorrow.

Came here with a group of 8 other fabulous women, and we all left full, happy, and raving about how amazing this place is! Seriously, it was a unanimous "OMG this is so good" kind of meal. While I didn't try the beet salad (which got glowing reviews from my friends), I kicked things off with the calamari. It was super tasty--could've been a bit crispier for my preference, but honestly, that didn't stop me from devouring almost the whole plate solo. For my main, I had the vodka pasta. I didn't realize it had bacon in it (not usually my thing unless it's just... bacon), but this dish won me over. Creamy, flavorful, and totally delicious--I was impressed! And let's talk about dessert: the banana bread pudding. Chef's kiss. So warm, comforting, and downright phenomenal. I'd come back for that alone. The staff was incredibly accommodating, friendly, and our food came out impressively fast--and it all tasted super fresh. Bottom line: 10/10 would recommend. This place knows what it's doing!

Noticed I never reviewed Il Fornaio. We like coming here because the service has always been great and we love the ambience. Whether brunch, dinner, or HH, it's always been a great experience. Our favorite dishes are Calamaretti Fritti, Carpaccio, Tagliatelle bolognese, and Calabrese pizza. If you haven't been, give them a try.

Hi wondering what the corkage fee is?

Hi Maddy, $20.00😯😬 no good! But TWOMEY Sauvignon Blanc is Excellent😉😉👍❤

Do you have a happy hour?

In 2016 they did " Il Fornaio Happy hour menu. Happy hour price $6 on the left side of the menu and reg price is on the right side of the menu." I'd call first and ask if it's still in effect.

What is the dress code for this place?

I would say business casual but you won’t get thrown out if you are not. LOL.

How big are their pizzas are they shareable?like can me and my boyfriend share a pizza?

They are the size of a big plate! They are shareable but definitely order other stuff as it's not enough for a guy!

The casual yet cozy atmosphere prompts fun conversation. There's a nice old world ambiance about it. Perusing the menus we first chose a carafe of wine, a Barbera. Having it before here we find it hearty and bold. For the table we shared a house salad which was fresh and well made. There was plenty for four of us. Tasty bread was brought to the table along with oil/vinegar and herbs on a plate. My main course selection was the Maccheroni e Formaggio, spiral pasta (macaroni) with a rich sauce, lots of cheese and breadcrumbs. I got it with meatballs which I highly recommend. The dish was delicious and very filling. For dessert I chose the cannoli which has been my favorite. Unfortunately, this time it tasted dry and the middle of the shell was hard as a rock. The filling was good. Service was very friendly, not rushed and attentive. They always add to an enjoyable meal. I continue to highly recommend this place for a good Italian meal.

I'd recommend. - Helena pizza (House-made Italian sausage, salami, pepperoni, San Marzano tomato sauce, fresh basil, fresh mozzarella, pepperoncini, and Parmesan): the pizza crust here is the best in the greater Sacramento area. Hands down. It's so wonderfully light and chewy. I wish they'd use a bit more sauce on their pizzas as they eat a bit dry. And, I think some extra sauce would balance the saltiness of the toppings as well (and, the pizza does eat a bit too salty for my tastes). - Classic Pepperoni pizza (Pepperoni, San Marzano tomato sauce, shredded mozzarella, parmesan cheese): similar experience as the Helena: stellar crust, not enough sauce, and a bit too salty. - Beer: they have a half dozen or so local brews on tap as well as a larger selection of cans/bottles, which include both local and macro brews. Thumbs up. Overall, this is a good pizza place that's worth checking out. I'm only knocking a star off bc the balance of sauce and toppings on the pizza was a bit off. But, I'd still go back!

Super friendly staff made it so easy. We were very pleased with our food... Ravioli, Lasagna, and Sausage Sandwich were great. Large portions, flavorful sauces, and sides were top notch. The mister wanted Chicken Parmesan, which we saw in posted Yelp photos, but didn't see on their website's menu. However, when we called, they said it was offered. When we went to pick up, it was fairly busy. The ambiance is rustic & dim with dark woods & brick. Tables are situated closely. The NBA playoffs were on the TVs. Outdoor seating is also available in front. There is a bench in the entry where we sat waiting a short time for our order. It was nice that they bagged the salad last minute & separately from the hot foods. Items were packed nicely with tape to ensure containers stayed closed. Our order-- Garlic Knots--satisfying pillowy carbs, they would've been enhanced with some kind of dipper sauce, but there was no offer to add on any when we ordered Artichokes Hearts--it wasn't ideal to get these as takeout because they got soft (no ding on them), the butter dipper was rich on rich Tortellini Alfredo with Salad & house vinaigrette--hearty little bites with a tasty sauce, the salad was simple & mostly lettuce, felt a little pricey for the portion size & being a meatless dish Chicken Parmesan with Soup--nicely seasoned with good texture, came with a big portion of pasta, soup was thick & flavorful Customer service was helpful & proficient with our ordering & pick up experience.

This was good! Was at the Crocker Art Mix in March and ordered SPICY RONI $19 - Tomato sauce,…read moremozzarella, pepperoni, jalapeno, hot honey. A shareable size. I'm giving just 4 stars because the honey was sweet but not that spicy and the jalapeño was more of a bell pepper - also not that spicy. But the thin crust was good and I didn't have to wait too long. Service was inviting and informative. I liked that they had a buzzer to tell me when it was done which made it more of an appealing vibe. Other food trucks had people waiting around for the name to be called - the buzzer is WAY better. The food truck itself is gorgeous. To see the wood fire over from the big windows was super cool!

I walked over with my coworker around 11:45 and luckily, there was no wait. Thanks to our Philanthropy team I had a voucher for a free meal that I was excited to use. The service was lacking, the person who took my order seemed annoyed that I was using the voucher so that was a bit of a turn off. We ordered the Garden Vibe and got our order in about 10 minutes. Despite the service, the pizza was DELICIOUS and I love that it was a thin crust. The portion size originally looked small but I was able to share it with two of my coworkers and we were all very satisfied. Overall, great pizza but the customer service aspect of my visit could have been way better. If I see the truck around and I'm in the mood for pizza, I will definitely get it again.
