    CDC's paragraph about food poisoning.
    Carpe Diem J.

Was recovering from surgery and soooo excited to be able to eat! I was craving pasta, and was shocked to find an Italian restaurant we'd never heard about. We ordered takeout. Caesar Salad - lots of lettuce, delicious dressing although very little of it, so the salad was very dry. Not one flake of Parmesan on the salad or offered on the side. Very disappointing. Looking at the pictures other patrons posted of their salads, mine was definitely NOT like theirs! Hardly any dressing and no cheese on mine! I also had ordered the agnolotti. The little raviolis were very strange. Some were only partially cooked, many had edges that were hard and inedible. $34 for this? Husband ordered the pomodoro. The pasta had been boiled to death - it was so mushy it was inedible. We both tossed out our entrees after a few bites. We were extremely disappointed, needless to say. This was my after-surgery treat and it was terrible. Out of curiosity, I perused some of the reviews, and the bad ones scared me. The owner's responses were condescending. Two parties stated in their (separate) reviews that they got food poisoning. He went so far as to claim these poor people DID NOT get food poisoning from his restaurant because food poisoning "takes 12 hours or more to set in". That is QUITE UNTRUE! Now we didn't get food poisoning, but our experience along with the owner's outright false statement is enough for us. We shan't be returning. I am also posting the Cleveland Clinic's AND the CDC's SCIENTIFIC FACTS about the time period within which food poisoning can take effect.

One of the spots I have bookmarked! Was craving Italian food randomly one evening and found myself here. Casual ambience with a touch of class. It was a relaxed atmosphere, simple yet thoughtful interior decor with open kitchen, and a welcoming environment. The servers were very professional, pleasant and attentive. Excellent service! The quality of food was on point. The pasta was clean tasting, subtle yet flavorful all at the same time! The pasta flour was imported from Italy. Though the menu was moderate, it still has a good selection. We started with the Caesar salad. had the hearty Lasagna Bolognese and the light, silky fettuccine Alfredo and pancetta pasta dishes. Both were very good. The focaccia bread was made from scratch served with three different dips. The whipped butter was delicious! Of course there's always room for dessert. We opted for the Olive oil cake and it was delicate and delicious! A must try! A thoroughly enjoyable meal indeed!

My boyfriend introduced me to this place and since meeting we've come here pretty regularly even though it's out of our way. He orders the same things every time which are the vinaigrette salad and the lasagna. He absolutely loves the lasagna here but I typically try something new every time which are some of the photos below. We've met the owner twice and he's told us about what got him started and asked us how our meals went. The place is nice, quiet, with an open kitchen area where you can see the chefs working. The lighting is not too dark and not too bright. Seats are decently spaced out and there is some outdoor seating as well. The pasta here is made fresh and it's absolutely delicious texturally and flavor wise. My personal favorite dishes that I've had are the shrimp scampi and they used to serve a short rib bolognese pappardelle pasta which was phenomenal. The shrimp scampi comes with a simple but delicious white wine sauce which really allows you to taste and appreciate the flavor of the fresh noodles. The quote sometimes less is more makes you really appreciate the beauty of allowing the simple flavors to make something shine without the unnecessary extras. The Caesar salad here is so yummy and if you add meat to it then it could probably be a meal but the salad alone is great. We often order the focaccia bread board to share which comes with a seasoned butter, herb pesto oil, and this Parmesan garlic mixture which is delicious with the bread. We love coming here and will continue returning.

House-made pasta!! It's all I have to say. Spectacular food, the little breads w/ the dip, the calamari are these juicy crispy flavorful strips like you've never had before, so get that. Any pasta as well. I almost went back to back nights. Service was friendly and our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu. Ambiance was great, a little dark but easily bright enough. Pretty good size to honest. New favorite Italian spot in the Roseville area.

We kicked off an early Mother's Day dinner at Sette Pasta House and let me tell you...this meal had main character energy from the start. The inside? Cute, modern, giving "I casually have my life together." We sat outside where it was a touch toasty...but not "I regret all my life choices" hot. More like "okay, I can still look cute while lightly sweating and pretending it's a glow." Honestly, the fresh air hit different. Motherhood paused for a moment...until someone asked what we're eating next. I started with a sangria. Now, in my mind, sangria is supposed to taste like a fruity vacation in a glass...this one was more like a calm weekend getaway. Not super sweet, not super fruity...but guess what? I still drank it. Happily. Because we don't waste beverages around here. Appetizers rolled in and things got serious. The focaccia bread board? FLUFFY. SPONGY. Not a dry crumb in sight. It was giving "carb cloud sent from heaven." Then came the calamari...except these were not your average dainty little rings. These were THICK. At first glance I genuinely thought someone ordered onion rings by accident. But plot twist...they were crispy, tender, and not rubbery at all. 10/10 identity crisis, 10/10 flavor. Then came the main event...aka "we ordered like we've never eaten before." I got the famous lasagna and WOW. This thing had more layers than my emotions on a Monday morning. Noodles, sauce, meat, cheese...just stacked and thriving. Every bite was rich, savory, and basically yelling "you made the right choice." My husband got the spaghetti pomodoro with a spicy marinara and meatballs. The meatballs? Delicious. The sauce? Had a little kick and a whole lot of personality. The noodles had that perfect bounce...you know, the kind that makes you feel like you're eating authentic pasta and not something you microwaved in a rush. We also had chicken parmesan, meat lovers pizza, shrimp scampi fettuccine, and fettuccine alfredo with pancetta because clearly we came to sample the entire menu like responsible adults. And here's how I knew the food was GOOD...everyone went quiet. Like...eerily quiet. The kind of silence where you look around and realize nobody's talking because they are too busy absolutely destroying their plates. That's the highest compliment. BUT...there was one dish that didn't quite live its best life: the fettuccine alfredo & pancetta. I was waiting for that pancetta flavor to pop out like "HELLO, I'M HERE!" ...and it just kinda whispered instead. Still good, just not the star of the show. And because we believe in balance (and by balance I mean dessert), we wrapped it up with gelato and lava cake. My personal favorite? Madagascar vanilla gelato. Simple, classic, and honestly...it knew exactly what it was doing. No drama, just perfection. Overall verdict: great food, great vibes, and a solid reminder that moms deserve carbs, silence, and dessert...preferably all at the same time.

Do you want to go to a restaurant that makes everything from scratch? The flower used for the pasta and the bread is from Italy. The food is so flavorful and delicious! I liked the focaccia board our favorite was the butter with Black Sea salt! Delish! The pasta as I said was homemade and delicious. Fettuccine noodles with delicious butter sauce and perfectly cooked prawns. Magnificent! When in Sacramento / granite bay please visit They do not advertise someone come all

If you didn't know, Sette Pasta House offers cooking classes! Unfortunately, they'll be on hold for a short time while Chef Paul serves in the reserves, but they're definitely worth checking out when they resume. Today I attended the lasagna class that I reserved back in December. Seating is limited, so you'll want to keep an eye on the website (and please don't take my spot ). The class was held in the restaurant and was completely hands-on, which I prefer. I don't want to just watch someone online--I want to actually be part of the process and make the food myself. For this class, the pasta dough was already prepared for us since making it from scratch would take too long, but we each rolled out our own pasta sheets and got them as thin as we wanted. Hand crank machine too. Fun. I've always wanted to do this. We made the bolognese sauce you see in the photos, while the pomodoro sauce had been prepared ahead of time. There were 12 of us total, paired into teams of two, and everyone worked really well together. It was such a fun and lovely experience. We layered our lasagnas--sauce, pasta sheet, cheese, repeat. Properly done- easy 3 beautiful layers. I should have oiled the foil on top. Still delicious. Once they were in the oven baking, we all sat down together for salads and great conversation. We could also watch the chefs as they worked, which made the whole experience even better. It was a wonderful day and a fantastic class! When our individual lasagnas came out of the oven, they were hot, golden brown, and absolutely beautiful. We were given boxes to take home whatever we didn't eat, and honestly, each lasagna is easily enough for two--maybe even three--people. They do provide cardboard boxes, but I'd recommend bringing your own plastic container if you want something sturdier for leftovers. **their black plastic fold over container leaks. I like clear lid snap. I'm home now and still enjoying the experience. While I was there, I also ordered to go, their focaccia flight and a side of meatballs, so tonight I'm having that with a small salad and reliving what was such a wonderful, fun class. If you didn't know about the cooking classes before, now you do--and I'd also recommend checking out Sette Pasta House for dinner sometime.

I've been on an Italian journey lately, I must be missing Italy! I discovered Sette while trying a different business in the same shopping center, so I bookmarked for later so glad I did. Such a pleasant little restaurant love that you get to see the kitchen in action. We were sat quickly and our server came right out, she went over the background of the restaurant and what the most popular items are. We settled on the bread trio, meatballs and the short rib pappardelle pasta. The pasta was definitely the standout of night packed full of flavor and meat.

The spaghetti and fettuccine are vegan friendly (not egg pasta) and they were willing and able to accommodate an Aglio e olio request, since their arrabiata sauce had some butter in it. Haven't had it since visiting Italy so definitely appreciated it!

Some food memories stick with you. Not just the "that was good" kind... I'm talking about the kind…read morethat randomly pops into your head weeks later like, "man... those meatballs though." That was exactly what happened after my first visit here. Those meatballs lived rent-free in my brain, so coming back was an easy call. Earlier in the day we took a nice walk around Folsom Lake with some friends. Fresh air, good conversation, and by the time we wrapped up everyone had that universal look of "okay... where are we eating?" As we drove back and passed Dominick's it was one of those moments where the decision basically made itself. I was like yep... this is happening. Pulling up I noticed the line was out the door, which honestly is the Italian restaurant version of a five-star Yelp wink. A line like that usually means something good is happening inside. The place itself has a great vibe and you can tell people genuinely love this spot. While waiting I looked around the shop area and noticed they have wines available for purchase. One bottle caught my eye immediately... a 100-point rated wine. For anyone who knows wine, that's basically the culinary equivalent of a mic drop. A perfect score from top critics is rare air. Naturally I did what any responsible food lover would do... I snagged it. A 2020 Super Tuscan that felt like finding hidden treasure on a shelf. The young lady behind the counter was an absolute delight. Super friendly, welcoming, and she even laughed at one of my dad jokes... which means either it was actually funny or she deserves an Oscar. Either way, great hospitality all around. The food came out and the table looked like a proper Italian feast. We had the meatballs, calzones, a chicken panini, and the coleslaw salad. My friends were loving everything. Plates were disappearing fast which is always a good sign. Now for the moment I had been waiting for... the meatballs. They were still good, but they didn't quite pop the way they did in my memory. You know that nostalgic flavor that takes you right back to the first bite you ever had? That lightning bolt moment? I was hoping for that same flavor encore. This time it felt more like the band playing an acoustic version of the hit song. Still enjoyable... just missing a little of that original fireworks. But hey, every great restaurant gets an off day, and honestly the overall experience was still a great stop. Good food, great hospitality, and a place that clearly has a loyal following. And those meatballs? I'm confident they'll make their comeback tour. When they do... best believe I'll be back for the encore.

Dominick's has excellent sandwiches at their Italian deli!…read more The bread for their sandwiches is so fresh and rustic. All of their selection sounded so good. I could hardly choose. We had the Chicken Cutlet Parmagian and the Big Daddy, (roast beef and mozzarella with marinated red bell peppers.). We were really hungry so we each had a large sandwich. They cut it in half we were stuffed to just eating the 1/2 of the sandwich and took the rest home for leftovers. We also had some of the mixed olives and cheese from their deli case to snack on with our sandwiches. It was wonderful. They used a really good olive oil in their marinade. It's been many years since I tried the restaurant side, but I remember it being so wonderful and authentic. I can't wait to try that again soon too.

The casual yet cozy atmosphere prompts fun conversation. There's a nice old world ambiance about it. Perusing the menus we first chose a carafe of wine, a Barbera. Having it before here we find it hearty and bold. For the table we shared a house salad which was fresh and well made. There was plenty for four of us. Tasty bread was brought to the table along with oil/vinegar and herbs on a plate. My main course selection was the Maccheroni e Formaggio, spiral pasta (macaroni) with a rich sauce, lots of cheese and breadcrumbs. I got it with meatballs which I highly recommend. The dish was delicious and very filling. For dessert I chose the cannoli which has been my favorite. Unfortunately, this time it tasted dry and the middle of the shell was hard as a rock. The filling was good. Service was very friendly, not rushed and attentive. They always add to an enjoyable meal. I continue to highly recommend this place for a good Italian meal.

The ravioli didn't taste very fresh and was actually hard to eat, which was surprising. That's usually my go-to at Italian restaurants. The margherita pizza was just okay... nothing special at all. It felt pretty basic and didn't really stand out. The restaurant was good and nice. But overall, it just wasn't the best Italian experience, and I don't see myself going back.

You get a complimentary warm loaf of bread for your table. For $2, you can add a side of House Salad or Caesar Salad. Both are good. House Salad goes by Side Greens on the online menu. For $5 add-on to your entree, you can make it unlimited soup and salad, brought out 1 request at a time. If you only want AYCE soup & salad, it's $9, again 1 dish at a time. 4 choices: House Salad, Caesar Salad, Tomato Basil Soup, or Lobster Bisque. I can't recommend the Spinach & Artichoke Dip. Consistency is not creamy and thick as one would hope. Oily and loose. I also noticed the online menu offers a $4.50 Side Caprese Salad and $4.50 Side Italian Chopped Salad. Good deal for an individual appetizer. Macaroni Grill also has a Happy Hour menu. Mondays often have an online BOGO entree deal like for Chicken Scaloppine, Chicken Marsala, Chicken Parm, or Spaghetti and Meatballs. Promo code: ITALIAN. Check Macaroni Grill on Facebook or Instagram: @macaronigrill Macaroni Grill has a rewards app. You get free money, like $10, off your first order. Service is polite and efficient. I did need to flag down the server for water and soda refills. Restaurant is huge, so good for large groups. Stone block accent walls look dated. Macaroni Grill is located in the Sprouts plaza on Douglas Blvd.

The bartender greeted us and gave us the menus. There are a couple of televisions to watch sports. I started with an Aperol Spritz and we ordered the Spicy Meatballs and the Stuffed Mushrooms. Both were tasty but wanted one more thing. We ordered the Mushroom Risotto. It was absolutely perfect. I finished with a Smoked Rosemary Old Fashioned. The bartender kept checking with us and the manager also made sure everything was good.
