Had an amazing dinner date with the hubby last Saturday night at @ilpostosd. I have been wanting to try this place ever since they opened late last year. So when we went, it happened to be on #NationalCarbonaraDay and so I had to get the spaghetti carbonara as it is my all time favorite pasta dish! Not only the carbonara was delicious but it came on the fluffiest dough bowl, served fresh and hot! We had the fried shrimp and calamari for appetizer and hubby got the lasagna. We enjoyed the calamari. The breading on the calamari was light and seasoned perfectly. As for the pasta dishes, I noticed the pasta was Al dente. For desserts, I opted for the panna cotta Nutella even though creme brûlée is my favorite dessert. I saw a picture of the panna cotta Nutella on their IG account and I was instantly sold! When our server came, he surprised us by bringing an extra dessert for us to try which was the panna cotta Pistachio. Let me just say that both desserts were to die for! So yummy, smooth, creamy, and not too sweet. You can taste the difference between the Nutella they used from the regular jar of Nutella you buy from the grocery store. It reminds me of the pistachio and nocciola desserts we had when we visited Rome a few years back. As for the service, our server, Vincenzo was very nice, friendly, and attentive the entire evening. He was the one that recommended for me to get their special carbonara since it was National Carbonara Day, of course! He came at least 3 times to check up on us. As for parking, it was street parking only but we were lucky to find parking right away on a Saturday night. I highly recommend to call beforehand to make a reservation specially on the weekends. As we didn't have a reservation, we had to wait for like 10-15 minutes before we got seated. We did call ahead of time to ask if they take walk ins or reservations only and we were told we can just come over and walk in. We would definitely be back again. They have an extensive pizza items on their menu and I would love to try it on our next visit. read more

We had an extraordinary experience at Il Posto. My wife and I hosted a Rehearsal Dinner for nearly 40 persons in the back room. We interviewed many restaurants before choosing Fabio and Antonio to create this dinner. Most restaurants will have a menu with somewhat fixed options depending on how many dollars per guest. $50 per person gets you X, $60 gets you Y. Simple and easy method, but does not always result in an amazing experience. We worked with Antonio to develop a menu that would satisfy everyone and a resulted in a great value relative to the $/person method from other places. I will not go into detail on precisely what we enjoyed, but it was a great cross section of salads, apps, pizzas, pastas and entrees of Salmon, chicken and short rib. All were well received. We knew most of the dishes from previous dinners. All very enjoyable on their own merit. The lead server was Gustavo and he was on point with his back waiters making sure the entire party was completely taken care of. Fabio is a gracious host and always makes you feel like family. We have really grown to love Il Posto and the entire team there. We live walking distance to Alexander's, Cori, Buona Forchetta and Piacere Mio. So the bar was set pretty high, but they have really carved out a special spot and always over achieve. read more

Saw that this was a fairly newly opened restaurant in South Park, so went to check it out for dinner. They conveniently allow reservations online and the location is in the heart of South Park, so the vibe is already pleasant. From the outside, the interior of the restaurant looks warm, cozy, and inviting. They have a room in the back with more seating, which is where we were seated. I'd recommend asking if it's possible to be seated in the front, because the back room felt quite cramped, staff were consistently squeezing through chairs and bumping into me, and the the room was not as aesthetically pleasing as the front dining area looked. We were there at 7pm, so it was quite busy with the dinner rush, and unfortunately, it took about 15 minutes after being seated before being asked for drink orders. We didn't want to risk another waiting gap, so we ordered everything all at once: a bottle of wine, a pizza, and pasta. The food came out quickly, which was a pleasant surprise, but we wound up waiting for the bottle of wine for quite some time. We were half way through our food before we had to ask about the bottle of wine, which the staff admitted that while they had listed it in the order, they had simply forgotten to bring it to our table. They were genuinely apologetic and provided us with a complimentary dessert. While I was not a fan of the back room seating and the wait time to order, the winning factors of our IL Posto experience were the food and the gracious staff. The Spaghetti con Polpette was quite delicious and the San Daniele pizza was also very good. Food wise, this place is a winner and I will definitely be coming back to taste more of the menu and hopefully snag a seat at the bar. read more

We came here with a party of nine for my son's graduation. We ordered the focaccia and a pizza for apps. They were both great. We ate family style, so two Caesar salads, two lasagnas, the special risotto, fettuccine Alfredo, and ravioli. The food was amazing. Pasta was all fresh and cooked perfectly. Service was amazing. I'd like to give Il Posto 4 or 5 stars for good food and ambiance. But I feel ripped off after today's lunch. I was going to order the lobster ravioli ($17.95). But lobster ravioli was one of the daily specials, so I thought I'd try that. The price was $34.95! And it was nothing special. OK, I should have asked. Their daily specials don't show a price or even a price range. But twice the normal price?? That's gouging. I complained to the waiter, and he just shrugged -- yeah, that's how it is. Amazing, authentic and outstanding Italian food. The ambience here is unbelievable. Everything from the design, to the menu is planned exceptionally. The pizza oven is imported directly from Italy and you can tell the difference it makes with the pizza pies and calzones. The desserts were phenomenal. What a treat! This place is a total gem. I have not been to South Park before and our visit to Il Posto was the perfect introduction to the area. Quaint, well decorated space with a beautiful ambiance and delicious food. Mauro, our server, was excellent! We came at lunch time during the week day and had no trouble getting seated and tended to. Our group ordered a variety of dishes from pizza, to sandwiches and salads, and all were freshly prepared and tasty. I am a new resident to South Park and have been thoroughly impressed by all restaurants I've visited so far. My parents were visiting and we had a reservation for IL Posto last night. The staff was incredibly helpful all day, as I called 2-3 times to make unexpected changes to our reservation. Due to this, I was very excited for our dining experience! We were seated at a nice table and our server was named Alex. He immediately was cold and impatient. When we went to order our meals, we decided to add salads to the order. A simple task like that, seemed to irritate him. He was impatient with my father who struggles with his vision, as he is a victim of severe strokes.‼ Someone working in hospitality should be patient and AWARE that people may have hidden disabilities‼ Patience should be required when working in hospitality‼ Alex did not add anything to our dining experience. Later on, when our food was delivered we requested cheese for our pasta dishes. After waiting and asking more than two times, my dad got up to ask someone for the Parmesan cheese. My dad politely gave a thumbs up... and the waiter mocked/copied my father with an insincere thumbs up back. AND THEN proceeded to get another male server over to our table. They made an obnoxious scene when giving us each cheese. It was incredibly rude and intentional and they approached our table almost yelling "here's your cheese, here we are!" I cannot express how rude this interaction was. My father respectfully told Alex, our server, that he had an unnecessary attitude all night and that he is not sure why there was attitude toward us. Alex took the professional, quiet feedback and made another scene. He stormed away from our table and went to tell every other male server. The staff did not even attempt to try to hide that they were talking about our table. It was SO unprofessional, I was so disappointed and felt so uncomfortable. Alex refused to serve our table and made a coworker of his become our new replacement server. Unrelated, but there was not a single female working in their restaurant. Strange energy in that place. Very masculine - almost toxic. The tall manager was friendly as we were leaving. The man who served us water at the beginning of our night was lovely and so kind. Very disappointed that one staff member changed our experience.... The takeaway is that some members of their staff are rude, and are probably not meant to be in the business of working with people... I really wanted to love this place as it's darling and the food is good! I'd like to give this restaurant another try.... but would be hesitant to try again due to our interesting experience with Alex. read more

They have many gluten free and vegan options as well. The prices are absurd for what you get. I ordered the spinach salad and added shrimp for $13 and added shrimp for $12. I received about a cup and half of greens and ten small shrimp. (60/pound). The dressing was nice. The flavor was nice but this was not organic spinach or wild caught shrimp. There should have been more food on my plate for a $25 salad. Also, the service was very slow.
