DON'T GO! There are dozens of other nail places around and this place does not stand behind their services. See the pictures of what my "no chip" manicure looked like 2 hours after Tony did my nails. The gel was literally rubbing off. I constantly have no chip manicures done, but this was my first and last time coming here. Either they don't use the right products, or a step was missed in the process - simple as that. What made it worse is the lack of customer service. I work across the street from the salon and so I came back today with my receipt. All I wanted was them either fixed or my money back. Thank goodness I didn't pay in cash, because he immediately accused me of saying I didn't come yesterday, and that sometimes after a few weeks the gel chips. Well buddy, there is a date and time stamp on my receipt. Very dishonest business practice if you ask me, and at that point I didn't want to waste any more time in there. He refused to refund me, and said he would only give me half of my money back. Ummm what? Glad I can just have my bank dispute the charge, but now I'm stuck with crappy nails before an event this weekend. Inconvenient, disappointing and unprofessional. I honestly love this place and the people that work there. I have gone off and on for years. They do an incredible no-chip manicure that lasts as long as you want to keep it on. My only issue is they are either poorly skilled in removal services or would rather do the quickest method with little regard to the health of your nails. They believe in heavy use of rotary drills, which is not good. Yet, that is better than having an acrylic set popped off with a fake tip (yes, this happened and I was so in shock, an entire hand was done before I protested). I recommend them for all types of manicures as they do a beautiful job. Avoid them for the removal process if you care about having less damage done to your natural nails. You can ruin your own for free, if that is the case. I think the problem is they are all trained to rush, even when it isn't busy. They need to listen to what people want and actually give it to them. Some of us actually know the difference between gel and acrylic. ;) They are ok if you want a fast pedicure, but not if you prefer the pampered kind (which I do). I love them for their artistry and skill. Just understand there is no luxury or loving care there whether it is busy or slow. read more

This was the fastest dip nail complete with manicure I have ever received. I decided to give it a shot a couple days ago during lunch and work and am so happy that it took them only 45 minutes as well as them looking so good after three days. Very impressed so far! We really wanted to love this place for our mother-daughter pampering. Started out great. We walked in and were immediately attended to. The pedicure was nice and the lady doing it was very attentive. Someone came for each of us to begin our manicures while our toes were being pampered. After our pedicures were done we were handed off to others to finish our manicures, and that is where things went south. The man doing my nails was extremely rude and disrespectful. There was no cuticle treatment or cleaning up, he just did the polish and acrylic. After having been told they could do a design I requested, he immediately dismissed it and wouldn't even try. He offered stickers instead, well suited for an 8 year old. He then got upset with me for touching the sticker packets. He kept messing up and acting as if it was my fault. First, he used the wrong kind of polish and was annoyed when it wasn't set. When I asked for jewels instead, although I had quickly chosen a tiny one, he insisted I look at each and every one before beginning. He had difficulty setting them and kept having to take them off and start over. When I pointed out that one of them was crooked, he angrily blamed me saying I had turned my hand sideways before it was dry. My mom's manicure experience was better, but her polish is full of bubbles and minor mistakes. When he was done he rushed me out of my seat and tossed my shoes by the front door, barely giving me a chance to get my things. He finished by swiping the card and aggressively handed it and the receipt over to be signed. No "thank you", nothing. Very disappointing vacation pamper day. Went in for a no chip mani with acrylic full set- saw a "full set gel powder" listed at $38 and thought it was a great deal. Should've known that was too good of a deal for Chicago. This is NOT the same thing as a full set GEL POLISH mani- it is just regular polish on a full set. May be my mistake, I don't get acrylics often. However. I asked for clarity as to the difference between this and the gel polish full set several times and staff was not able to clarify. I'm giving them 4 stars though, because the nail tech (Ken) still did a great job and was very detail oriented and neat. However, throughout the manicure I asked for clarity on the service I was receiving and after he finally stated it was regular polish (when I realized he wouldn't be curing it under the lamp) I said I wish they'd said so off the bat and that I would have paid more for the gel polish mani- there was no suggestion for resolution. Unsurprisingly, my mani chipped 5 min after leaving the salon. However, I went back looking for a fix and Lisa switched out my polish for no chip as long as I paid the difference ($12). I happily did and was really impressed with the immediate service and efficient job she did. Long story short, definitely triple check what service you're getting. And as other reviews state, you'll get a great looking mani but don't expect a full manicure service including cuticle trimming, hand massages or anything. But for the price I'd say it's a good bang for your buck. read more

I debated leaving a yelp review because I'm very aware of the stigma behind leaving bad reviews and I would hate for a business to suffer because of one bad experience...But after reading other comments and seeing that other people had similar issues as I am going to leave my first (and hopefully last!) yelp review!! I came to image nails because it was close to my job downtown and I had been there once before. The first time I went it was a slow day and I was helped immediately and my acrylic fill with gel no chip (with two nail replacements) cost me no more than $30. Those nails (with the fill) broke off within one week! I blamed myself for that and decided to give them another try. Today I went in to get a fill and i was helped relatively quickly for how busy they were. He (I believe the owner and the same person who helped me the first time) reshaped my the way I asked and gave me a fine manicure. (I just hope it doesn't break off) then I went to have my eyebrows waxed. I had eyebrow makeup on and asked to take it off, the lady told me she would take it off for me. They call this $12 service "eyebrow shaping" I told the lady I wanted to clean up and since I'm a person who waxed regularly she could just follow the shape I already have but make it thinner. She DID NOT do this. She did not take off my makeup like o asked (I don't even think they have a sink for use) and she just waxed the parts around my makeup. When she showed me and I tried explaining this miscommunication she barely listened and just plucked a bit and waxed a little more off the end of one eyebrow. I tried to explain again but there was no use. I figure I can just fix it somewhere else. I cut my losses, they were closing. I just wanted to pay and go home. When I went to pay the (owner?) explained that it was 52$ $40 for my gel fill and $12 for my "brow shaping" I tried to explain that previously my nails had only been $25 and he argued with me and the other employees began chiming in arguing when I was just trying to understand why it was $40 ( also..while I was there I heard someone else confused about the price of their services) he told me "it's always been like this I think you're lying . I know what I charge" and with multiple employees in the store speaking at me I didn't put up much more of an issue and just paid it.....while being badgered to tip.....all and all this place falsely advertises their prices / changes them however the feel and does not listen to their customers concerns. Update: the next day in the light I can tell my gel nail I asked to be black is actually dark purple. I like Image Nails for their convenient location and their nail art (more on that later). Yeah, they aren't the most fanciest of places, but they do a FAST (yet good quality) mani/pedi. Their prices are in line with what other nail places in the Loop charge. They are so friendly here as they try to really get to know their clients. The staff at Image Nails recognize you even if it's only your second time there and they greet you from the moment you walk in the door. Another great thing about Image Nails is the nail design. Joanne does a great job of free-hand nail art. I'm always very pleased and excited to show off my nails whenever I have my nail art done by her. Prices are never consistent and they constantly have random up charges that are never documented on their price list. I have gone to Image Nails off and on over the last ten years. They do a good job but they can be rude. I broke my vow to never go to them again and went last June mid Covid-19. I had no complaints until today. The person who did my pedicure was rough and rushed through it. I got bounced back and forth between the owner and a tech because I have long nails. The owner did my nails but I sensed he didn't want to. I had $95 on table but I asked if that would be enough. The owner said $95 was fine. His wife shouted No it's $98. I said no problem, I have the $3. So, I went to wash my hands and when I came back both owners were saying you owe $3 more dollars. The one who did my nails moved my phone to a chair. I went in to get a pedicure and an eyebrow wax. I sat with my feet in a bowl with water that was barely lukewarm, and quickly turned chilly. The pedicure started and no soap or any softening agent was put in the water. My cuticles on my toes were buffed/removed with a drill (first time I'd seen that) and went over with the hand held tools in a very rough and painful manner. The guy who did my feet was also unnecessarily aggressive when tapping me to switch my feet from the bowl. After a cursory foot scrub and a calve scrub, I think he rubbed on something on my legs that looked like lotion but the skin on my calves quickly got very itchy and dry. It was so uncomfortable I kept leaning down to scratch my legs while he was painting my nails. I told him about the itching hoping he'd put something on my legs (rubbing alcohol maybe) but he just laughed when I told him my legs were extremely itchy. I ended up rubbing some of the hand sanitizer on their reception desk on my legs while waiting for my toes to dry, which helped. I feel like the foot bowl may have not been sufficiently disinfected or something, and the water my feet and legs were put in was subsequently affected and dirty. This isn't a spa, theres nothing fancy about it but they take care of you, their prices are reasonable for the loop and your nails come out phenomenal. Best part about this all is that your nails LAST 21 days, like they are supposed to. I tried another nail salon down the road to compare and BOY was I happy to never return. There's a big difference between "efficient" and "sloppy". I felt like there was a race and they were being timed or something. Did you hit a personal record girls?? It sure felt like you did! The entire experience was rushed from the woman dragging me away from the polish selection as I was picking out my colors, to them literally pulling me out of my chair to get me out the door.
