This is one of my regular nail places. It's mostly because I work less than a block away and its convenient. But its also because I like the people and the service. I've now gone to most of the women and guy Tony and I have to say they have always been great. I have even messed up nails on occasion and they have re-done the nail and not complained about having to re-do it. It's not the fanciest place but my motto is if you provide a good service and are nice, that kind of comes secondary for me. Made my second trip to this nail spot. I was on my lunch hour, needing a pick-me-up...was able to get right in and get my nails done asap. When the gal asked me "You want me to do your eyebrows?" I got a Lifebooker deal for a Brazilian and this is how it went: I found the hot wax to be a lot more painful than the strips. The woman did not complete my whole bikini area and kept calling me "baby". If I can grow pubic hair in the first place for a Brazilian, I am no baby. If you are in the loop, I would recommend this place for nails because it is easily accessible. I would not go back here for a Brazilian because the room is cramped and you lay on a table next to the tanning mister. There are dirty, tanned towels everywhere. I also realized afterwards that she had charged e for the service, as had Lifebooker. I am working on getting one of the charges removed, but am not sure of the status of the process at this moment. I am disgusted with this place! I made two appointments for my co-worker and I to get manicures during lunch. We came in on time, and they kept us waiting 10 minutes without acknowledging us. Then, when I told them we were on our lunch hour, they talked to each other about me in Vietnamese! I always go here for my nails. Always. I've been to many many other places and spent more and spent less and I can't get a better or longer lasting mani/pedi. Their no-chip lasts a month AT LEAST. I have however, had not-so-good experiences here too. I think it depends a lot on when you go and which nail tech works with you. That said, they get an F for consistency and I imagine that is frustrating for new clients, but I go to the same person each time and it's always perfect. read more

I've gone here for a pedicure on my lunch hour--like everyone says, it's in a really convenient location for those of you that work downtown. I went at noon on a Friday. Cons: 15-minute wait, technicians were very chatty with each other (not sure if she was paying much attention to my feet), loud environment. Definitely not impressed. I got their groupon for 2 no chip manicures & luxury pedicures. What a joke. First of all, this place is super hard to find if you've never been here before. The whole place seems super dirty and rundown. Not impressed. They don't offer you anything to drink.... They make you BUY water!!! How ridiculous is that?! I only get acrylics and bought this groupon since my friend wanted to use her. I've done this before at other places and usually pay a few more bucks to upgrade the no chip mani to an acrylic fill. Nope. They won't do it. She gave me a gift card saying I had a manicure leftover. I asked if I could out this towards the price of a fill and she said I could not. What?! They literally turned down my money. That's ridiculous and rude. The "luxury" pedicure was probably the worst pedicure I've ever had in terms of luxury. Barely any scrubbing or massaging. My toes look sloppy. My mail tech was not friendly and didn't even introduce herself. So now I'm sitting here waiting for my friend to get her no chip mani as I write this. Bored and thirsty. So this review is somewhat biased. I'd give Lilly like a 5 and the space about a 3 and that's kind of generous. So I figured 4 was fair! Thanks Alfreda D. for the recommendation. So let's run it down: Good - Lilly is the bomb(dot)com! She was attentive and left no cuticle untamed, edge of nails unpainted, and time wasted. She even asked basic questions like do you want your no chip manicure color and pedicure to use the same color -- if so.. choose from these colors. *kudos for the shop for organization* - I was able to make an appointment the same day! Who doesn't love that? One COULD say that's because they don't have enough business. who cares?! - It's not too far from the job, so I'd consider taking a lunch for a touchup! let's reiterate that I was in and out in about 80 minutes and my nails were flawless Questionable - If I didn't get a recommendation from this place, I'd probably not come.. it doesn't look as inviting.. no bright lights, plush chairs.. it's basic business - it's kinda pricey for no frills, but I suppose that's because it's downtown - It closes at 7, so hurry hurry if you are trying to go after work - They reduce, reuse, recycle their flip flops and toe separators. I saw them working in the back to hand wash their used supply. It made me cringe a bit but at least they were washing them well. Will never go waxing there again. I am always hesitant to try a new place, but my regular salon was closed & I was leaving town, so this place was just a convenient alternative. The girl was so careless that she missed entire patches of hair. Not to mention the scratchy feel of the stick she used. I never feel the stick dragging on my skin, but she was really going at it, pulling hairs while applying the wax. After making her re-do the patches she missed, I was hoping it was all good. Upon further inspection at home on better lighting (what waxing room has shitty lighting?!?) I saw a few more patches left. Really? To add to the horrible wax, the room has no sound barrier - it's like a loft so the ladies getting nails done outside can hear every hair being teared off your skin. Really comforting. I went here because it's close to work (in the loop) and the prices are not terribly high. Would not do a bikini wax here again tho, nails only! They also accept credit cards, but prefer you to pay in cash. Went in on Tue 8/28 and did have to return the next day because my American mani was coming off already. After asking me what did I do (came in after work, went home, showered the next morning, saw the flaws, came back to have them fixed) and me telling her nothing, I was told I'm busy come back after 2. Pedi was ok but no chip mani ughhh such a lousy job. First of all she left my nails soak off for too long, the nail plate and skin started to hurt. After she started to peel off the gel and she was pressing so hard it felt my nails are going to brake. I happen to live around the corner from this location and thought it would be a good idea to visit to see if I could find a go-to nail salon in the area. It was my first time here and will most definitely be my last. This establishment has given me one of the worst experiences I have ever had in my life at a nail salon. 1) I walked in and my greeting was extremely unpleasant, dry and heavy. It was as if the front desk person or whatever their title was... had an issue with greeting me. It felt like it was a burden and made me feel very uncomfortable. But I brushed it off and went to pick out the color I wanted. (Not every culture is as warm as one would hope and I respect that and so I let it go.) 2) As I sat down in my chair to begin my pedicure, I noticed how cold my nail tech was. It was a very militant and disconnected feel similar to the energy I felt upon my arrival. "Oh well," I think to myself... "could be worse I suppose." (BOY, WAS I RIGHT!) I put my feet in the water and the water was lukewarm. I asked if it could be warmer. He slapped my feet and told me to take them out so he could adjust the temp. The first slap was enough to get my attention but I, again, let it go. He then slaps my feet for every time he needed to transition to the other foot. Not a tap, a literal SLAP. I politely asked him if he could stop slapping my feet because it hurt, was very uncomfortable and took away from the entire experience. He mumbles something and goes back to doing my nails. He then eventually taps gently to transition which I appreciated although the damage had been done. The entire session was thrown off. 3) This is probably the "nail" in the coffin (no pun intended) for this business. So, I was also getting a manicure and my nails tended to at the same time as my pedicure. The nail tech was very strange and would often stare at me while I was sitting on the phone. It was awkward and it was clear that this man had no respect or any sort of civilized manners to work with. I did my best to ignore him and tune him out until... HE CONCLUDES THE BEGINNING OF MY MANICURE BY DUMPING THE FILTHY MANICURE WATER INTO MY PEDICURE BOWL!!!! RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!!!! HE DUMPS MY DIRTY MANICURE BOWL WATER INTO MY PEDICURE BOWL!!!!!!!! I was stunned and immediately asked him why he poured dirty water into my fresh pedicure bowl... and he says: "...it's water! It's only water." I told him it's DIRTY water and I didn't want it in my pedicure bowl. Another employee comes up and co-signs his "it's only water" argument... then they start shouting like literal animals in their native tongue... saying all sorts of things - and at this point... I had had enough. I grab my bag ready to go and the nail tech at my feet tells me he is sorry. He says he will change out the bowl, which he did, and assign another nail tech. I eventually cooled off enough to conclude this excruciating and DISGUSTING experience. All the while they are barking and shouting in their language to each other about the situation and staring... just making a total spectacle. I spoke to the manager after paying and this man (Tony) is defending his employee in the strangest way possible stating: "No one has never done that... Maybe he is tired. He isn't very smart and maybe he didn't know.... etc" ARE YOU KIDDING? As a business owner, customer service and sanitation are VERY important to me. THIS PLACE DESERVES ZERO STARS!! I will be reporting this and opening a case. THEY NEED TO HAVE A CITY INSPECTOR COME IN AND INSPECT THE METHODS OF THIS FILTHY ESTABLISHMENT!! LOOK ELSEWHERE!! DON'T GO HERE!!!!! The reviews for this location seem to be all over the map. I came here just by happenstance today for a no-chip manicure as I am preparing to head out of town to NYC...land of the perfectly manicured nail. A customer exiting the establishment made my decision for me. When I noticed her mani-pedi game was on point, she noted that she has been frequenting this nail salon for eight years. I am not overly familiar with the protocol for a no-chip manicure but did appreciate that I could text and dig in my handbag right afterward, not to mention get a darker color for my fingernails (usually a no-go when I am getting a traditional manicure). The technicians here aren't overly effusive, but they are efficient and were able to accommodate me as a walk-in. Only time will tell how well this manicure wears, but so far I am pleased. I'm told that removal of the no-chip is the most challenging part, so I have been warned. Thank you, Image Nails, for helping me feel put together before my upcoming trip. read more

I stopped at this salon on my lunchbreak from work since i work across the street i thought it would be a good idea to give this place a chance since i do work late and my salon that i go to closes at 8, boy did i make a mistake Literally the moment i walked in i felt really odd and uncomfortable. I wasnt greeted, asked what service I'd like, offered to look at the no chip color swatches.. nothing I noticed they were pretty busy so i was ok with waiting after about 15 minutes of sitting down i had a young man call me to take a seat by his station, as i sat down i noticed the colors for (nochip) are all on a big white board. There was at least a 100 swatches on a ugly white board put next to one another on the wall above his station hanging up, because that wont overwhelm anyone? anyways my fill in (arylic) was done and he started polishing the color i chose which btw looked nothing like the swatch that i chose.. i was done in less THAN 35 minutes. No hand message, no asking if im happy with his work or anything.. my service usually takes a GOOD HOUR.. the next day 2 of my nails were chipping on my acrylic nails.... 45 dollars later, uneven nail shape filing and nails that are chipping ...THX FOR NOTHING. I live across the street from this salon, but never took the time to actually check it out. today and did and I wish I honestly wish I had kept walking. I arrived around 4:30, the shop was busy, but they still said they could accommodate for my services. I asked for a soak-off (for my acrylic extensions), a full set of sculpture nails (acrylic) and a pedicure. I waited about 20 minutes before a young woman took me back to the pedicure chairs. Pedicure went well; the lady was very sweet and took the extra step to help me choose the perfect color/formula. Then the "soak-off" began; I'm using the term very lightly because my nails were never soaked. Tony cut my acrylics down and, to my surprise, began hacking away at my nails with metal cuticle clippers. In the process of doing that, he split my nail and cut the under part of my nail, causing it to bleed. When I asked about their soak-off service, he replied that this way was "faster". He acknowledged his mistake, but still continued to pry the acrylic off my nails even though I had expressed my discomfort verbally and physically. When I asked for sculpture nails during my pedicure, the woman said it would be no problem. Now that I was in Tony's chair, he replied that it, "takes too long, I do tips the exact same way". Tips, however, were not an option since one of my nails was now split at the tip and still bleeding. I'm not nail technician, but I'm sure you're not supposed to put acrylic over an open wound, let alone an acrylic tip. I expressed to Tony that I didn't want to get tips due to the new injury on my finger and he said that he could do a dip powder on them instead. I'm not very knowledgable of dip powders, but I figured I'd give it a try since I was not able to get my normal extensions at this point. In the process of laying a base coat, he began to make comments about the amount of money it would cost to get my nails done the way I originally asked and how it was "too expensive". I assured him that the cost was not the issue, I was worried about the health of my nails since the service I came in for was now not an option. Upon finishing the base coat, he asked me to pick out a normal formula color to paint over the base coat of dip that he just applied. Red flag #1. Before I could get back to the chair, he asked me to pay before he polished them. Red flag #2. When I sat down, I asked him why he was applying a normal formula instead of the dip powder. He began to laugh, shake his head and exclaimed that I'm "confusing". He continued to say that "money was the issue for me", "he was giving me a discount because he normally charges people $50 for the service", and that it would be $45 if I wanted a dip powder TOP COAT. At this point, I wasn't interested in getting my nails done anymore and just wanted to go home so I asked how much would it be for my services. "$75". THIRTY DOLLARS FOR A BASE COAT AND NO POWDER/COLOR? YEAH RIGHT. Long story short, PLEASE do not let this man do your nails, let alone take them off. save your money and go somewhere else. read more

If I could give less than 1 star, I would. DO NOT get eyelash extensions from this place. I should have known better, as the phrase "you get what you pay for" really does apply here. $27 dollars later, I walked out with an uneven set of eyelashes which actually started falling off on their own within an hour. I eventually had to remove them with makeup remover and was left with almost no eyelashes. When I called for a refund, the woman who applied the eyelashes informed me that this has never happened before and refused to refund my money. Very disappointing. Giving two stars because the woman who did my nails was very nice. I had a manicure done here on Wednesday evening, it is Friday morning and the polish is off. In less than 24 hours 3 or 4 of my nails were very chipped. It looked so bad this morning I just took it off. I'm pretty sure the problem is that the polish was watered down with remover, I've done this at home to make a bottle last longer but it changes the consistency. The polish was so thin she had to do 3 coats then when it came to removing it, the top coat separated from the color. I won't be back, it's cheap but still not worth the money. read more

Came in for the first time to get my eyebrows threaded and I will be coming back!! The lady, Lisa, asked me how I wanted to eyebrows (cleaning it up and keeping the same shape). I've never gotten my eyebrows threaded before so I didn't really know what I wanted but she somehow knew what I wanted and shaped my brows exactly to how I would have wanted them. I went into Image Nails on my lunch break yesterday for a no chip pedicure. I can honestly say this is one of the best pedicures I've had! The man who did it for me did an amazing job not only on smoothing my feet, the polish was absolutely perfect! And I am SO picky! I can almost always find something that I don't like (especially on my pedicures) but I have no complaints! I plan to try them for my nails, and hopefully I've found a place close to work that can be a one stop shop for my nail needs! read more

I see some of the other reviewers felt rushed but I'm actually in favor of that because I am usually on my lunchbreak. They will even do my nails and feet at the same time. If I could give zero stars, I would. This salon was dirty, as were the employees. The woman who was doing my pedicure spit her gum into her gloved hand in the middle of the pedicure, dropped it into the trash can, then continued on wiht the pedicure. She also dropped a towel on the floor during the pedicure, then picked it up off of the floor and wiped my legs off with it. Another employee was wearing a shirt that showed her entire stomach and a skirt that was short and flaired out. When she was cleaning the pedicure tubs, she was bending over and I could see her entire butt (which was luckily covered by underwear). I came into Chicago for a meeting the next day and by the time I arrived, I didn't have much hope of finding an open nail salon. My polish was chipped and my nails in a bad state...not good before a client meeting. I found Image Nails close to my hotel and even though they were supposed to close at 7p and I didn't get there until 7:40p, they accommodated my request for a polish change. Fortunately for me, she also took the time to shape my nails and work a bit on my cuticles. By the time i walked out at 8p, my nails were looking fabulous again. They saved the day!! read more

$42 to remove no chip on fingers, manicure & pedicure without repolishing. Nothing fancy. Tech removing the no chip had me soak my fingers in acetone, instead of using tin foil. She then picked the no chip off with her finger nail! Yuck. They even tried to drill both my finger & toe nails. Hell No!!! Finished in less than 45 minutes. Meh. read more
