STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE. (He begs for positive reviews and calls you if you leave any negative ones) On 4/25/2025, I came here to buy a phone case for my iPhone 12 Pro. I told the owner, Shawn, that I needed a phone case. Before we could start looking at phones, he wanted to show me tips about my phone. I thought he was being friendly and let him show me the "tips". He ended up saying that I needed a software update and that I needed to make space for the software update and instructed me to delete unnecessary apps from my phone to make space. I was able to update my phone at home because the WIFI at the store was not fast enough to push along my IOS update. When it was my turn, he showed me 3 phone cases available. I ended up choosing a light pink case and it was $70. I paid the fee and left. On 4/26/2025, I noticed that my phone case was turning yellow on the sides and at the bottom. On 04/27/2025, I texted Shawn and asked if there was a possibility that a refund could be issued, but the store is closed on Sundays, so I just waited until the next business day to show him in person. On 04/28/2025, I went to the store. I showed him the case and he admitted that the discoloration on my case was something he had never seen before. We began to look at other phone cases. He told me that I could walk out of the store with one of the three phone cases that he had for sale while he sent the light pink case to the original manufacturer and they would later send a replacement back or exchange my defective case for another one and walk out with store credit. I did not want to do any of these options because for Option #1, there is a chance that the original phone case manufacturer does not make the case anymore. I did not want to do the other option of receiving store credit because I was a UCLA senior graduating in June 2025. Why would I want store credit considering that I would not be in LA? For these reasons, I asked for a refund. Immediately as I say "refund", he says "I can't do that." Shawn is the owner of the business. Maybe I would understand if Image Wireless was a chain store, but it is an independent business that has the ability to give customers refunds. He says that my only options are the temporary case or an exchange with store credit. I ask for an exception to the rule, because this is not a case of buyer's remorse. I am a paying customer who had a defective product and am asking for a refund because the other options are not any that I am interested in. As soon as I ask for an exception, he tells me "Don't make this personal." Now I am confused because how could an interaction with a paying customer and a business owner be personal? I just met him three days prior, I have no reason to make this personal. I was sold a defective product and wanted my money back. He says that "asking for an exception is personal." I truly ask anyone possibly reading this message, how is asking for a refund "personal"? This is a simple business transaction. I was not yelling or talking about personal circumstances. I was only talking about my business transaction within the walls of the building. I tried to explain to him that my intention of asking for a refund was not personal, but he interrupted and started saying that I should be "lucky that I was not charged for the software update." Are you joking? You went up to me saying that these were "free tips" and on top of that, I was the one that deleted photos on my camera roll. It was not like Shawn was working for hours on my phone. Software updates these days are at the click of a button and I had my automatic IOS updates off, so I could have updated my phone on my own. Shawn did not do anything that I needed to be charged for. I decided to do the exchange with store credit because the conversation was not going anywhere. He asks for my original receipt. I give him my original receipt and he points out that the return policy is at the bottom of the receipt. In California, stores must physically post their return policy, so I asked Shawn where other than the receipt is the return policy posted. He says that it is at the bottom of the counter. Keep in mind there is a couch in front of the counter, so you are not looking at where the return policy is. This was a bad business experience. Maybe Shawn just had a really bad day or was hungry. Despite any possible reasons behind his side of our interaction, the way that he spoke to me was completely unacceptable. Accusing me of making a simple situation "personal" is ridiculous and tells me that he thought the interaction was deeper than it actually was. Nothing about our interaction was personal or needed the response that Shawn gave me. Shawn was incredibly hostile. I never insulted him or was rude to him, I was just asking for a refund because I was sold a defective product. I recommend staying away from this store because of the overpriced items and on top of that the unprofessionalism of the owner. read more

I wish there was a (-)star option, as Image does not merit even one star. Save yourself a great deal of frustration and money, and avoid this place like the plaque. I agree with Omar S.'s 9/17/2015 review: THIEVES and LIARS. Long story short: I broke my Golden Rule: If you try to go cheap, you'll pay 10x more in the end. I needed to replace a cracked screen on my (5 month old) Iphone 5. An acquaintance suggested Image Wireless, because they will replace my screen for $50 (like they did with him). Apple wanted $150 to do the job, I didn't think twice. I called ahead (and spoke with Sean) , to confirm the $50 price to replace the screen (which Sean did). I asked if Image was an authorized Apple/iPhone repair shop. Sean said 'Yes! Absolutely, that's what we specialize in!" ( my bad for taking him at his word, because that's a lie) When I came in to fix my phone, Sean was at the counter. After looking at the phone, he confirmed the $50 price,adding that he will give me a "student discount", so I only pay an ADDITIONAL $87 in "labor charges and taxes"., which = a "mere" $137.Something he conveniently omitted during our phone conversation., I specifically asked for the TOTAL PRICE of repair, not just the price of the screen. Sean apologized for the misunderstanding. And even though I found the "labor and tax" charge excessive, I let him fix my phone...Because I felt like an idiot for driving to Westwood from the West Valley, (where I live 3 blocks from the Apple store where, as it turns out , I would have paid $13 more to have my phone fixed...and saved a lot of future aggravation).. Instead of the 30 minute repair I was quoted, it took Sean 2 1/2 hours, and he finally got the screen on on the 5th try! As I watched him work during those 2 1/2 hours, every time he would remove the screen, and start over, he would say "I'm just a perfectionist..." By the time he was done, I was beyond exhausted. I paid,just happy to have a working phone, and got out of there... On the way home, when I used the phone, I noticed that there was a gray patch near the "home button"...Great..Even though it didn't interfere with the function of the phone, I knew I would have to go back. But I was about to start packing for a very complicated move....so driving to Westwood again would have to wait a bit. Exactly 4 weeks later...I was texting when the letters on the screen started to fade. As I looked closer, I saw that it was because the screen has "lifted" and I could actually see inside the phone. I immediately drove to Apple, where I was told that my battery expanded, which happens when the screen is replaced incorrectly. I told the tech that, yes, I did have "an authorized repair shop" replace my screen.That's when I got the good news:1) no one other than Apple is "authorized" to fix iPhones 2) the moment Sean opened my phone, my warranty was null and void ( 6 month before it expired), therefore the battery was not going to be covered. The next day I returned to Image. Sean, per the self proclaimed manager on site, was on vacation. When I explained what had happened, the manager LAUGHED IN MY FACE.,and said " well, it's obvious this happened because you dropped the phone,".I tried to remain as calm as possible, explaining that NO, I did not drop the phone...The manager then said that they only guarantee their work for 30 days anyway, so I'm out of luck. I produced my receipt, which proved that I was standing in front of this moron on day 30-warranty still good for 1 day. That's when he went back to "it is obvious that you dropped it, so we are not at fault" He then "graciously offered to fix my phone..for another $180... So, not only did they lie about being "authorized to repair this phone" ( surely, Sean is aware that once he opened a phone that was purchased less than a year ago that phone would no longer be covered under a warranty. A businessman with ANY scruples would have asked the customer when the phone was purchased); they screw up the phone in the first place, for $137, refuse to honor their own guarantee, then try to extort more money to fix their poor workmanship...And what if I agreed, and a month later something else went wrong? Was I supposed to keep coming back with more money? After an hour of listening to accusations, and excuses I saw that any further conversation was futile. This was the first time in my life that a sales person literally drove me to tears. The reality was: I GOT SCREWED. That left 2 options: continue taking my chances with Image, or go to Verizon, pay nothing upfront, get a new phone with a new line, and pay $70 a month for 2 years. I chose the later, and my iPhone 5 is now just a very expensive paperweight. The kicker? You will never get your money back for botched repairs! Image makes sure of that by using one receipt for merch. and labor. And the receipt says "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" . One cannot say this Image Wireless is good until one compares it with another store, which is located only one block away at the Westwood/Weyburn intersection, called Westwood wireless. Let me tell you more about my experience in these two stores and you'll know Image Wireless is so far the better one. I didn't go to Image wireless when I wanted to transferred my number from Att to Lycamobile, instead, I went to Westwood Wireless, which is located closer to ATT and also seemed bigger and brighter. I asked the guy whether the lycamobile $29 plan can run on my Windows phone, Lumia 920. The guy said he couldn't assure that. That wasn't much of a problem for me since I was gonna get a nexus4 anyway. Therefore, I bought the plan from him eventually and waited, like he said, for two days to let the successful transfer kick in. After two days of waiting, my Lumia 920, like he expected, never really got any signal from Lycamobile. However, when I put the SIM card into my old Nokia N81, it worked. All these occurrences put me into pondering: "the guy said that Lycamobile can run only on Android and Iphone, but N81 is a Symbian phone, why does it work?" This is the time when I checked out Image Wireless, the store located at the Broxton/Weyburn intersection, just right across the cinema with the lighthouse structure. The store owner, Sean, upon first encounter, impressed me with his professionalism on phones, so did his colleague technicians, I suppose. I first told me what the other store guy told me about how Lycamobile couldn't run on any device other than Android and iPhone. With much surprise and unbelief, Sean said: " That's bullshit, lycamobile is a European mobile company. there are many people in Europe who uses Windows phone and Symbian. There's no way Lycamobile cannot run on windows phone." Just for several minutes, he finished doing what he does best: dialing fast on the phone, speaking to custom service with great professionalism, most of all, letting me talk to the customer service for 15 minutes for free. In the end, I got everything I wanted from this transfer: same number as before, fast internet, swift calling and texting speed, and most of all, free service and a lesson Sean taught me about mobile phone service: customer satisfaction in every possible way! My final words for Image Wireless; your best mobile partner during your four years of college life; don't go to Westwood Wireless unless the store guy can really give you something that Sean couldn't. read more

I WISH I DIDN'T HAVE TO GIVE EVEN 1 STAR, PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE, the owner offered a Samsung J7 for $299.00 I said no thank you he showed me a Samsung J7, and said this is $299.00, I said no because this phone is being sold at T MOBILE store for $250.00, and I would rather buy it from TMOBILE store directly then he said that he is T MOBILE, and he will sell it to me for $250.00, so I bought it. He took the sim card from my old phone trimed it and put it in the new phone. I asked him twice, "ARE YOU SURE THIS PHONE IS NEW" and he said of course it is brand new. After came home, I opened the box, and saw that the new sim card is missing from the box, I called him and asked him where is the new sim card? He said no worries come here I give you a free sim card! . I got suspicious, and checked the IMEI Number, well the box and my receipt had matching IMEI and the phone it self had a different IMEI, I called Samsung and gave them both IMEI numbers and surely they said the phone is a used phone that was activated 7 months ago, and the box belong to a brand new phone ! so this guy sold a refurbished phone to me as brand new. I went back to the store and HE STILL GOT THE NERVE TO DENY AND KEEP SAYING THAT THIS IS A BRAND NEW PHONE, well I returned it got my money back and asked for my old phone which his technician had opened it to fix it, well he put the old phone back together and later I saw a metal cover missing from the mother board and the cover on the top is being cut. Absolute lifesaver! Shawn at Image Wireless is beyond amazing. I have been coming to Image Wireless in Westwood Village for a while now just to pick up basic accessories or get a quick replacement, so I already knew they were a great local spot. But today--on Labor Day, of all days--Shawn went completely above and beyond in a way I will never forget. I walked into the shop feeling completely frantic. I had just lost my brand-new iPhone, and being a student on a strict budget with no insurance, I was honestly panicking about what I was going to do. The moment I walked through the door, Shawn noticed how stressed I was. He instantly put me at ease with his calm, reassuring demeanor and told me, "You have nothing to worry about. You have me." Image Wireless is the absolute best cellphone, accessories, laptop and services store in all of Los Angeles. They are located near UCLA and there is 2 hour free parking from 7:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. The owner is the kindest, smartest, and professional business man that I have come across in a very long time. He is a consummate professional and assists his customers with whatever their electronic needs are. Today, I stopped by to ask his assistance with installing an upgrade to my phone. For two weeks the phone had failed to accept my upgrades. The Image Wireless staff were busy and yet they took my phone, told me I could take a walk or have lunch and they would take care of my phone!! In less than 15 minutes I was walking out of there a happy customer!!! How much did he charge for this prompt service? $0.00 The value of this kind of service can easily be compared with any Apple Store. No appointment was needed. No long lines. No wait. No rude associates. No hassle!!! I should add: While I typed this review, I heard the owner on the phone working with Google and other professionals and solving other customers issues. Being recommended to come to Image Wireless Inc. from the T mobile corporate store was the most amazing experience ever as my iPhone took a big fall from a 3 story balcony where everyone who looked at it said there's no possible way of reviving and making this phone come back alive. These guys really know what they're doing where they are miracle workers that put together the phone with a new housing, a new screen and battery and had all my information content saved. I had all my work done in less than one day and half the price of buying a new phone. Amazingly, they did not try to price gouge me and take advantage of me for my desperate need of getting my phone and data as they were straight foward and honest!! I am beyond grateful as I did not utilize iCloud and I didn't know what can be done to save my phone. Don't waste your time anywhere else as these people know what they're doing and they care about all their clients. This place was an accidental find for me, (I expected everything to be closed) and it was everything I've been needing. Shawn was masked, health conscious, and incredibly hospitable. He diagnosed my phone is seconds, taught me steps to keep it running well, all before we started looking at new cases, or screen protector. We found my battery was working well below 83% efficiency (replace), and to my surprise he said the tactile click of the home button, which had long since stopped working, could be fixed! We tried a few cases, I noticed and asked for a magnetic external battery (which he was honest and said I shouldn't need... but sometimes I shoot tons of video), and he got all the repairs done and I was out the door in very little time. Sure you could order stuff online, but this is a family owned business, in an historically important part of town, providing an essential service (communication), and you get priceless knowledge with your service/purchase.
