So was the miso soup. The peppers were actually a great snack to have alongside with the omakase so you wouldn't eat them too quickly. The service was great - we had an enthusiastic and helpful waitress who even moved us to the sushi bar upon our request. She was great! It was so fun to watch the sushi chefs work. I knew we needed to come try in person so we could sample the menu and get a feel for everything instead of just the dishes we normally love. My daughter & I decided to try this place for dinner. It's very dark when you walk up because of the dark tinted windows. We weren't sure if we wanted to go in because we couldn't see what it looked like inside. When we opened the door, we were very pleased with the decor inside. There wasn't a lot of people when we got there around 7:40 pm, but as we were sitting there, it filled up. I ordered the orange chicken which came with a side of broccoli and rice. I was expecting my chicken to be bite size pieces so I was surprised when the waitress brought my dish out and saw how big the pieces were. The flavor of the chicken was different than what I'm used to. This was a little bitter, more like sour orange, but it was still good and I really liked the texture of the rice. My daughter wasn't too hungry so she just ordered a cucumber roll & miso soup (thanks to the Yelp check in). She said the soup was very good but that the sushi was average. She said that it tasted about the same as the ones from Publix. Was rolling up in the mean streets of Yelp. I was strapped with hunger and post-workout energy depletion. Come to the rescue Imasa Sushi and their Imperial Roll. I'm not sure how I became so good at eyeballing caloric tangible items, but hey I did. Regardless I also tried out a Bento Box with these dudes and they are the real deal. The wonton soup is made perfectly just not for my taste because I do not like ginger, I'm more of a garlic based Thai wonton soup guy with hints of sweetness. Regardless, this is definitely a new spot of mine now and I must come here and put in work in the future. I must say, or Imasa say I musta come back. 4 1/2 stars. Imperial is our latest favorite Asian restaurant in the neighborhood. Our family has dined here several times and we have always left happy and satisfied. The place is on the smaller side with a mix of tables and booths. The chefs at the sushi bar always seem to be making some lovely sushi creation. We have tried so many dishes at Imperial that it's hard to point out favorites. I am not a fan of the salad with ginger dressing. For me the dressing is much too "chunky". However, my son loves it. One of our favorites here is the Tuna Crispy Rice. The rice cake is served warm and is just the right texture. The spicy tuna has the perfect amount of heat. The sushi here is always super fresh. The sushi/sashimi platter is artfully presented on ice. The sushi has toppings. I'm not sure what all of the toppings are but they give extra "oomph" and flavor to each sushi piece. Imperial is not a traditional Sushi/Thai restaurant, but it does have several mouth watering hot dishes under "Kitchen Dinners". Items we have tried include: Lobster Udon Noodles, Wok Fried Filey Mignon, Skirt Steak, Stir Fried Vegetables. Every dish has always been delicious with tender meat and fresh veggies. Recently I was finally able to take advantage of Imperial's lunch specials. Imperial offers a variety of bento boxes, rolls, and kitchen specials for $10-14. The meals come with soup or salad. The portions are large and it's a great deal! My only feedback is I wish the lunch special was offered on the weekend as well so I could order it more often! Everyone was raving, so we tried. Honestly it was good, not GREAT like everyone was saying. We are sushi people. The toro was good. The rolls were tasty, but they could lose some of the rice though. As far as presentation goes, they could use an upgrade. I think we got a leaf to complement our dishes? Sushi is a visual journey too! I also can't get past the fruit flies that were dining with us. It started on the soy sauce container that is left on the table, but once we started dining they migrated to our drinks. This left me wondering what things were like at the sushi bar . I originally tried Imasa sushi because the place we used to go to (sushi sogo) was closed every time we went or tried to order so we ordered from this place on Uber Eats and thought it was delicious; they always prepare our order so fast. We decided to pay a visit in person since it's less than 10 mins from our home. The sushi was good; plenty of options. Prices are pretty comparable to other sushi restaurants: This visit had wonton soup, green dragon roll, tuna tataki, and fried chicken dumplings and the check was ~$43. Other menu items that we've had that have been good are crab Rangoon, miami heat roll, and veg spring rolls. My son and mother love the tuna tataki. My mom is pretty picky when it comes to tuna tataki because she doesn't like it sliced too thick and the one they serve here met her "thickness expectations" lol. They have pretty good selection of Saki. The staff has been nice everytime we've gone. They have hand sanitizer at every table. The only reason I gave one less star was because little fruit flies were flying around here and there. Wasn't an unbearable suspicious amount fruit flies, but there were like 2 that kept trying to land near our food. I'd still recommend you check it out. read more

Sushi is fresh and delicious, dim sum is flavorful and fresh. Never did we expect to find a place close enough to us that would be this good. We have tried MANY sushi places near us and have been disappointed numerous times...fish tastes old, rice is hard, orders mixed up. And I'm talking about popular spots that are always full! But we've only managed to find a few spots that meet our expectations and Imasa is definitely one of them! The fish tastes fresh and has great flavor and the price isn't out of this world. We could drive to Miami to get better food but when we just want to order in this is our go-to spot. And their shrimp dumplings are just as good days later! My favorite item is the Sake Bomb (Salmon Wrapped with Asian Pear, Dry Miso, Truffle Oil, Yuzu, and Microgreen). I had the JB roll and the shrimp Tempura with spicy Mayo and it was amazing, I also had the Kirin Light to go along with the food. My friends and I were looking a very specific area for dinner so we definitely did not expect to find a place that we all really liked!
