I used to like this place A LOT and always swung by whenever I was in the neighborhood. Sadly, both the food quality and service have gone down significantly. The Thai Ribs Red Curry chefs special was disappointing. The ribs didn't have much flavor and were merely two and a half pieces, and apart from two pieces of eggplant, the rest were green bell peppers. Service was rather inattentive and unfriendly. We came to Imm Thai after a celebration and we able to try their lunch special (weekdays 11:30am-3:30pm). It was half full when we arrived, and there were only small tables of 2 available. They were able to accommodate our group of 4 by putting 2 tables together. We mainly ordered from the lunch menu, which allowed for 3 drinks and 3 appetizers for additional $3 each. We ordered: Chicken Pad See Ew ($14) - Flat rice noodles, egg, Chinese broccoli, garlic, sweet black soy sauce, with chicken. This is on the sweeter side. Chicken Pad Kra Pao ($14) - Ground chicken, chili, garlic, basil, sweet bell pepper. Was flavorful and spice was mild. We added a sunny side up egg for additional $1.50. Choo Chee Pla ($16) - deep fried fish topped with a thick red currry sauce and creamy coconut milk, served with rice. I don't usually see this option on the menu of the Thai places I have tried previously. I like how the fish was meaty and did not feel overly fried. Off the lunch special menu, we ordered the mango sticky rice ($12). Rice was very soft and sweeten with condense milk. Mango was ripe and sweet. The white sauce added a savory sweetness as well. Imm Thai was lovely, they had good food at a good price, packing a big punch for a small restaurant in FiDi. The honey ribs were delectable, great flavor from the sauce and crushed peanuts. The ribs themselves were okay, and the portion wasn't the biggest (though the dish is an appetizer, to be fair). The pad kee mao was fantastic, the broad noodles were chewy and well seasoned. Quick and friendly service. We came at a late lunch time - 4 pm - so no wait and there were several open tables. We ordered the pad see ew and spring rolls with tofu. Food came out within 5 min of ordering. Water glasses were filled constantly. Food was good - the pad see ew was a little light on green veg but plenty of carrots and a little more sweet like pad Thai. But still very good! Literally stumbled upon this place on my way home this afternoon. FiDi was one of my old haunts having worked here for nearly 10 years. Though parts of Nassau Street seems to welcome fast food, Imm caught my eye. A very small, clean space that drew crowds either for takeout or dining in, I decided to get a load off my feet since the lunch specials looked interesting. There was a staff member who did a juggling act--as hostess and taking table orders. She was very nice and efficient. I decided to order the Roast Chicken. All lunch specials were $13.50 with the option to order from the main menu, if desired. Not long after, my colorful lunch arrived. Chicken, rice and a side of steamed Carrots and Cauliflower was the presentation. Upon first glance, I saw that the Chicken wasn't roasted. It consisted of only thigh meat which was very disappointing. I couldn't figure out if the chicken tasted stir fried, teriyaki or steamed. The vegetables, although plain, were good, but I have to blame them for a lot of liquid/water surrounding the food on the plate. Tell you the truth, it was a bit off putting. The flavors were average. Rice will be rice and the jasmine variety is always good when steamed: fluffy and aromatic. But the overall execution fell short of my expectations. I was excited to try Imm when I sat down since I love Thai food, but I left underwhelmed. Maybe I should have ordered a signature dish such as Pad Thai, but rule of thumb dictates that whatever is presented on any menu should be prepared well. It seems to serve the area well, especially during lunch---working folks, tourists and everyday people. I might give it another try if in the area but will definitely order something else. read more

Stopped in for a quick lunch - they have good lunch specials. I was seated quickly and the hostess was very friendly and polite. She's also the person to take your food order. It's a small place with limited seating but quite cozy. I had the Pad Kra Pao and while the meat was tasty, the egg was overcooked. I did have to ask for the condiment caddy to add a little heat. Located in fidi within walking distance of the MTA 1 and the NY/NJ PATH, the restaurant is in a pretty convenient spot for tourists and locals alike. We got to the restaurant a little late and a little before the kitchen was about to close. They were still happy to have us and provided quick and friendly service. The crab fried rice and the seafood tom yum soup was delicious. The flan as dessert was a nice touch and a definite must have. We'll be back for more! Today I stopped by here after seeing they had Khao Man Gai and had good reviews. I want to give 3 and a half stars, but can't. I ordered Khao Man Gai and Shrimp Dumplings Shrimp dumplings - good, ALOT of shrimp, the shrimp were big, the sauce had a VERY light tom yum flavor. Very good dish overall. Khao man gai - pretty tender, not that juicy, ginger rice could use more ginger. Overall: The Shrimp Dumplings are the mvp, the Khao Man gai is not as good as a few other places I've been, but it's not bad. Place is worth going to. read more

Papaya salad was perfect on all the flavors but doesn't come spicy really (even though it says spicy) I prefer extra spicy so i need to ask next time. Honey Ribs were SOOOOO good, definitely on the sweet and sticky side but so good. Had to keep the sauce for my shrimp. Delicious Thai food in lower Manhattan. The space is quite small but cozy. The papaya salad tasted very fresh- like they just cut the papaya! This place serves the BEST THAI TEA!!! I cannot express enough how good the thai tea is. I always come here for it. Their food is also affordable and with a good portion. I always get their lunch special, which is always good and convenient as a takeout. The staff is friendly and it's always a smile on my face in and out of the restaurant. There's a good amount of tables and it seems pretty popular for people taking their lunch breaks. They have pretty reasonably priced lunch specials. The two of us split a Pad See Ew with chicken and the Choo Chee Pla. I also got their Butterfly Tea Lemonade. I really enjoyed the Pad See Ew. There wasn't anything wrong with the Choo Chee Pla but I'd skip it next time. We also ordered a Mango Sticky Rice at the end of our meal. Stopped by this unassuming Thai restaurant for dinner. The restaurant was full, despite it being a rainy Sunday evening in the financial district. The space was small and basic. The waitstaff were nice. The food was awesome and inexpensive. We tried a bunch of different things. They were all great. The standouts were the crab fried rice (which had a ton of crabmeat in it), pad Thai made with glass noodles, crispy golden honey chicken and Choo Chee Pla, which is perfectly fried cod in a mild curry sauce. The two main dish I really enjoyed was the honey ribs and the clear noodle Pad Thai. For me the Pat Thai was very unique because it wasn't the typical pad Thai noodle. I came to IMM Thai NYC for lunch and was once again impressed. This was probably my second or third visit, and what keeps me coming back is how affordable and high-value their lunch special is. It's rare in the city to enjoy a full meal with variety and a drink, all for under $25 after tax and tip. For my order, I went with the Pad Thai with chicken as the main lunch special, paired with the honey chicken appetizer, and rounded it out with a Thai iced tea. The portions were generous and the flavors were excellent -- not watered-down lunch specials, but real, satisfying dishes. The Pad Thai had the right balance of noodles (noodles were more thicker than from other Thai places but tasted amazing!) and chicken, the honey chicken added a nice touch of sweetness, chopped into smaller pieces and the Thai iced tea was refreshing alongside the meal. The restaurant itself is cozy, with limited seating, but I actually enjoyed stopping in after 1p when things were quieter. Service was friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere made for a comfortable midday break. All the options looked delicious, but I was craving a pad thai, which I paired with a glass of wine since it was happy hour. Finally checked out Imm Thai in FiDi. I went for the chef special: Thai ribs red curry. I was originally eyeing the chicken cashew nut but the server hinted that he personally preferred the ribs. So, ribs it was! The menu describes the dish as stir-fried ribs in red curry with coconut milk, red chili, and Thai eggplant in a southern chili paste and jasmine rice on the side. Honestly, I did not notice the eggplant But, the ribs were good. Tender and easy to eat. The spice level was described as medium. I tend to like spicy food so for me, it was mild, which I appreciated because I was able to enjoy the food without being overwhelmed by any spices. The ambiance is also super cute. It's a hole-in-the wall, and it wasn't too packed when I went (7pm on weeknight). There's also a bathroom, in case you were wondering! Last but not least, the staff (shoutout to Michael!) were very friendly. I'd recommend this place for a chill dinner by yourself or with a small party size. Most of all, I'd recommend Imm if you're looking to expand your Thai palate outside the traditional Thai dishes we've been exposed to here. read more

There legendary southern fried seemed refried after being fried making it extremely difficult to chew through and the dressing on their fruit salad which included canned pineapple just made the highest price dish even less appealing. The restaurant was empty when we arrived for dinner. There was very good reason for that. Maybe everyone was at the pizzeria on corner, at Chickfila or at Shake Shake but not here. I mentioned at least the chicken being recooked and difficult to chew through but as it goes it fell on deaf ears. They really don't care about the lack of quality and service at their narrow space and you should care less to make it a stop along your journey for Thai comfort food. I didn't know what to expect, but I loved the neutral, calming decor and the excellent music. The staff was chill but very attentive and accommodating. Came here last minute for dinner with friends! It's a quaint spot right off the Fulton subway. The menu highlighted some of the history of Thai food which was a great added touch! We got the shrimp dumplings, pad thai, choo chee pla, and green curry! The choo chee pla was my favorite! It was a cod fish, and it was a unique style that I have never had.
