Chicken pad thai ($12 pre tax/tip)
    Jillian B.

I always see a big crowd outside this truck whenever I walk past, so I finally chose to give it a try! I am so glad I did... the chicken pad thai was solid, especially at that price point, and was a very generous portion. I was able to make two meals out of it! The people working there were nice too and I got my food quickly. Definitely recommend!

Really, REALLLLY good Thai food from this cart in Hanover Square. Noticed this cart in the area on a random weekday walk during lunch and, knowing how hard the food cart industry was hit during the pandemic, I always feel inclined to want to make a purchase from one, so I took a look at the menu and I was sold IMMEDIATELY. The menu was pretty much what you would expect to see if you're familiar with Thai food. They served various noodle and rice entrees as well as some appetizers to boot. The prices for everything seemed relatively reasonable for 2024 and I ended up getting a Pad See Ew ($11). However, after taking another glance at the menu and seeing a huge picture of a Thai Iced Tea on their cart advertising that it was $3, I couldn't help myself, so ring that one up too!! How was it you might ask??? The Pad See Ew was hot, fresh and delicious. The noodles, chicken and veggies were cooked perfectly and it was a fair serving. ANDDD best of all, I had a refreshing Thai Iced Tea to wash down the tasty entree. I typically don't order a beverage from a cart, but since it was my 1st time here, I couldn't resist - plus the big picture of it on their cart kept calling and calling me as I waited for my food to be cooked. I UNDOUBTEDLY will be coming back to try their other entrees (and to get another Thai Iced Tea to go along with it).

Updated review: The pad kee mao with shrimp was . Had a bit more spice and the basil was a nice touch. A not so hidden gem in fidi.... The food is amazing, very flavorful and not very oily. Walking by, you will wonder why there is such a large crowd on the corner but once you taste the food, you will understand why. I was NOT expecting so much flavor from a Thai food cart but let me tell you.... The food is absolute . This place would give a lot of store fronts a run for their money. I hope this business gets to the point where they can open up a storefront in FIDI. Pad see ew: great texture on the thicker noodles that soak up the seasoning. The soy sauce with the wok flavor was just perfect. And best of all, not too oily Curry puffs: very flakey and generous filling. Dipping sauce could use a bit of a revamp but it was amazing without it

Located off Hanover Square near near Wall Street area. This is a gem for anyone that loves Thai food. Definitely try it out and if you are short on time, just order ahead and do a pick up to avoid long lunch time lines. I got the Pad ee Eew Noodles with beef. Was definitely on point, just the beef was a bit over cooked. Check out my images and video for quality and quantity.

The food truck was great. I was walking along 32 and 3rd Ave when I ran into the truck. I got the chicken basil rice and it was delicious and very flavorful. Next time though I would love if they can provide some napkins with the food.

Lovely little thai food cart on the corner of Pearl and Hanover. Delicious pad see ew ($11) and thai iced tea ($3)! Accepts cash and card.

But the employees were everywhere and they look to be working in unison with each other. It almost felt like a fine dining restaurant without quite the price tag. I would strongly recommend you make a reservation. The tables are not that big so you might want to think about ordering too much food. You only get 90 minutes to dine, but our server was a little generous with that time limit as there wasn't any one waiting when we left. All of the dishes we ordered was good in it's own right. The pork belly fried rice had a hint of sweetness to it. I think it might be tamarind or something. But I could totally be off based. The crispy bits of pork belly added a nice texture. It's nothing like I've ever had before. The short ribs was fantastic. Full of flavor and fall of the bones tender. The papaya salad is something that was very familiar to all of the others I've had. Very comforting. Overall, I would definitely come back here and receiving great service on top of the great tasting food was all I could have asked for.

However, I personally didn't think the mushrooms went very well with it. Shrimp Pad Se Ew: The best Thai rice noodles I've had in the US. Very wok-fried, slightly sweet, but without masking the chili aroma - everything was just right.

I'm a Thai foodie from California and I really loved SaiTong! The restaurant was busy and I was by…read moremyself so I was happy to sit at the bar, and was attended to by the most sweet bartender ever. Very polite, professional and attentive. I first ordered the crispy spring rolls, which were very good. For my main I had the Massaman Curry. Now folks, this is my favorite curry of all time -- actually one of my favorite foods of all time -- and while it's common in LA where I used to live, it's not as common where I live now, in the Bay Area. And the restaurants that do carry it usually do not make it right and it's not very good. I am used to Massaman in the traditional preparation where it's more like a beef stew made with chunks of beef and needs to cook overnight. When done right it is the most aromatic curry ever -- it's almost like an aphrodisiac! -- and the beef comes out oh so tender. Usually if places have this curry but then offer a choice of protein, then it generally is not cooked properly, and that is actually how they prepare it at SaiTong. But because of such great reviews I decided to take a chance and try it. Well, let me tell you, it was definitely not the norm...it was absolutely delicious! I had it with chicken (they serve breast as default), and the chicken soaked up the curry really nicely. I also asked for there to be no onions, which I think alters the flavor of a curry too much. It does include the traditional potatoes and peanuts, and the potatoes were fine and cut into nice little chunks, the peanuts actually were thrown in raw.. what I think is the more traditional way which is to actually burn the peanuts a little bit, but that's okay, it didn't take down the dish any. Their brown rice is of the very dark kind, which I like, and goes so well with the curry. Service was wonderful from the bartender but was also provided by the rest of the staff and everyone was so nice. I left there feeling so satisfied, and cannot wait to go back and try some other dishes.

We started with the curry puffs and satay buns, both of which were easy wins. No complaints, I would happily order them again. The Khao Soi was the highlight of my meal. Rich, comforting, and packed with flavor. I love when restaurants get this right. They also do super thin noodles in the khao soi which is a plus for me. I also tried a little bit of the crab fried rice which was also incredible. I also ordered the lychee mocktail. The drink itself was fairly average, but it came with a lychee mochi that completely stole the show. I honestly enjoyed the mochi more than the drink itself. Overall, this is just good, no-nonsense Thai food. Nothing feels overly gimmicky. The restaurant focuses on solid flavors, a beautiful space, and warm hospitality. I'd happily come back to work my way through more of the menu.
